How long it took for o!Ciel to be named as the new lord Phantomhive officially? I was talkimg to a friend and she said it was few month before the story started but I understood it was few months after returning from the cult.

March 17, 1886

As I've posted before, there's actually a date for it, mentioned in a letter from the queen: March 17th.

Since our earl emphasizes how quickly he and Sebastian trained to properly fill their roles, this has got to still be 1886, just a couple months after making the contract and returning to the manor.

Something else I talked about in that previous post: the queen controlled the estate during this time, and I want to know exactly what she did with the people (the residents of the earldom) and the money. Because I theorize that part of the reason for the attack was so that she could use Phantomhive money and workforce, denied (or partially denied) by Vincent, on her precious Tower Bridge project. She had from December 14, 1885 to March 17, 1886 to use the money and people however she wanted. Many of the people she would have relocated are probably still in London, three years later, working on the bridge. And this helps explain why the estate was broke and the earldom was in such a terrible state of disrepair when our earl and Sebastian return to the manor... why the entire earldom was so rundown, not just the manor in burnt ruins.
