hello!! i saw ur post about the faerie garden and 1. it’s gorgeous! 2. is that tokyo sun?? if so how do you care for it? i’ve attempted several times but it always wilts and dies, if you have any pointers i’d really appreciate them!! ♥️♥️ (btw if i’m wrong in talking about the very light green bushy plant)
1. Thank you!!
2. I...have no idea!!! Honestly I just bought the plants that looked cute in the fairy garden section and put them in a pot. Whether or not it’ll survive is ???
I did some research. I looked it up and yeah, it looks like the same plant. Apparently it’s a sedum of some sort, meaning it’s a succulent and prefers VERY different conditions from most fairy garden plants.
Fairy gardens: Terrarium-like, high water needs, generally kept damp. Plants like moss will die if allowed to dry out. Can be planted in rich loamy soil. Succulents: Low water needs. MUST dry out between waterings and be planted in rocky fast-draining soil or they become susceptible to rot. Needs a lot of light!
HOWEVER it was grown in a greenhouse I trust and appreciate a lot, and they had them in the same section as the other fairy garden plants receiving the same amount of water. It was doing fine there, and I’m hoping that it might be alright.

So the first picture is when I just got him and the second picture is of now. I don’t know what’s wrong with him and if you have any advice on how to save him? Btw he’s a sedum japonicum Tokyo sun
________________________________________________________ Hello! It looks like it is stretching for light and some of the leaves appear to be dried out. See if watering perks it up a little and try slowly adding some more light.

Flower or not?☘🌻 My name : Sedum japonicum (Tokyo sun) 🌾 . Sedums are : Low, spreading plants with diverse colors. Leaves are mostly small and fleshy . 🌻This is a mat-forming ground cover Sedum that pops bright yellow color. 🌻It is an eye catching accent in pots 🌻The yellow tones need direct sun to stay vibrant and will "fade" to green if shaded. 🌻It stays under 3 inch tall but spreads and mounds extensively on any well draining soil ☘Plant Fact : Mature sedum with established roots can tolerate at least a month of drought . . . #plant #plantlover #loveplants #plantsofinstagram #sedum #justhappyplants #mysuru #mysuruplantstore #plantlove #knowyourplants https://www.instagram.com/p/BunHkAsBm6u/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1akcucm8mq9n4

Sedum Japonicum, commonly known as Stonecrop or Tokyo Sun is a tiny bright yellow green succulent foliage. Most yellow in full sun, more lime green in shade. They make excellent ground covers or as fillers in a mixed succulent pot. . . . #succulents #succulentsofinstagram #succulovers #stonecrops #stonecropsedum #tokyosun #sedum #sedumjaponicum #sedumjaponicumtokyosun #sedumjaponica https://www.instagram.com/p/BtYTcFnBszw/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=tut5dandl0me

Seaside Succulent Scene - Tiny Garden - Employee Creations Week 9
Week 9: Ruth – Seaside Seaside Scene s/week-9-3.jpg"/> Ruth has supplied this sunny seaside succulent scene! Being a family owned business, we like to run the nursery like a big family. We thought a fun blog project would be to invite all our employees to make their own Succulent creations. We are asking one employee a week, starting alphabetically, to do so. At the end of each week we will “showcase” that employees design at the nursery, on the blog and on our Instagram. Why a Seaside Scene? I like to be creative and this gave me the opportunity to do so. All of the little details of this arrangement really make it special! How long did it take to make it and how many plants did you use? I used 8 plants and it took a couple of hours. Has anyone ever been so relaxed? How exactly did you make it? I put in some soil, took a minute to decide where I wanted things, and started. It may be snowing outside but our seaside friend doesn't mind (neither do our sempervivum!) What are some of the plants you used and why? The Tokyo sun because of its color, and because it reminded me of the sea. The other plants were chosen for the same reason: Tiger's jaws, ET's fingers, Golden glow, Firesticks. He even has his own little senecio privacy hedge! What are your favorite Succulents? There really are so many beautiful succulents. I do like blue knight, tokyo sun, and classic jade to name a few. What are the most difficult succulents to work with? Haworthia and the sedum can be trying. Why or what do you love about working at MCG? I do like that it is a family business, and it is very nice to come to work. http://dlvr.it/QPmyWb

Vintage Wooden Succulent Planter - Employee Creations Week 8
Week 8: Lindsey – Vintage Ice Cream Maker images/week-8-5.jpg"/> Lindsey has put together this fun Ice Cream Maker! Why a Vintage Ice Cream maker? I saw the old ice cream maker in my backyard and instantly knew that was the item I wanted to work with. A side view. How long did it take to make it and how many plants did you use? It took me about and hour and I used 7 plants in total. Closeup view of the plants in use. How exactly did you make it? I just found hardy plants that stood out to me, gathered them together and planted them up. The added wood gives a wonderful landscape effect! What are some of the plants you used and why? I used Tokyo Sun, because it is the brightest and made a great finishing touch. Hardy Sedum to give it a flowing effect and then Sempervivum to pull it all together. I really loved creating this project! Crystals give an earthy feel to this arrangement. What are your favorite Succulents? My favorite succulents are Sempervivum and Haworthia. I like the Semps the most because they are almost indestructible and the Haworthias because they are so unique looking. What are the most difficult succulents to work with? Haworthia are the hardest to work with because they fall apart easily. Why or what do you love about working at MCG? I love working with plants everyday and I love the crew that I have such a great crew that I work with everyday. Lindsey: our featured staff member for this week. http://dlvr.it/QPljXW
