“He’s been listening to a personalized song for the past few hours, the sweet tones of a friend with strawberry icecream hair. It had been a tradition as of late for his birthday that he would recieve such a present, although this time it came with a plush of a pokemon he really hadn’t seen before.
Next time he sees her he’s gonna have to ask her which pokemon it was. After all, he was pretty curious about if he could easily get one or not.

It was only natural for Nate’s boss (and surrogate father figure) to spoil him on his birthday! The Aloan-Exeggutor headed young man would receive a large (and heavy) box gifted wrapped in dragon-pokemon designed wrapping paper! Inside find the following: a Blackthorn Dragon Tamer outfit (complete with cape!), a custom made whip similar to the one Lance and Clair use, an assortment of fruits, vegetables and water gotten from the Dragon’s Den and a CD containing a video message from Lance himself. It’d play a scene of the Champion Dragon Master wishing Nate a happy birthday right before having his dragons chase after a smuggling ring’s armored ship out on international waters. Yes there were explosions in the background...
“Always a busy man... dude’s probably busier than me huh?” He chuckles as he finishes watching his personalized message. Still.... “HOLY SHIT! These things are cool! Not to mention well made! I can’t wait to see how I look in this!” At this rate, he’s going to have a growing cape collection.

He gave Nate a vouch for 25% off buying apricot juice and other items from the Kiosk he and Gold runs. That’s it. Not even a card or a happy birthday wish in person.

Nate would receive a simple birthday card with an assortment of herbs and teas as well as a recipe book to help keep him healthy. He also got a note saying that if he wanted to learn a few espionage tricks or ninjutsu, Koga would be willing to give him a free lesson as a gift.

Nate received a male Absol from Brendan along with a card! It read: Happy Birthday! Normally people see Absol as a bringer of disasters, but really they warn people when they’re about to happen. I’d say he’ll help safeguard you from danger, but let’s be real, you’ll race toward the danger to save people all heroic like. That’s why I made sure this fluffy guy knows a few tricks to help you out.
“Woah.... you know you’re a lot more majestic close up, you know that right?” The Absol casually just flicks it’s hair, seemingly enjoying the praise that Nate gave it. “Well then,” he chuckled, “welcome to the team buddy! Looks like Brendan already gave you some cool tricks, so I’m sure you’ll fit in great with everyone else!”

Nate’s best bro in the whole wide world actually managed to meet THE Nate in actual person wherever he was. Mostly because he wanted to deliver his gifts in person, which almost didn’t happen because someone travels all over the place too damn much! Pulling up to Nate on his motorcycle, Hugh removed the gifts from the passenger car he had attached on the side.
“Happy Birthday, man. Your manager had no idea which region you’d be in but I have my ways to find you.” Thank you Pidove, living in his hair. Nate got “rare” (Glarian) Stunfisk along with an assortment of vitamins for his pokemon. “I was going to offer to give you motorcycle driving lessons, but with the life you live you probably already know how to ride one. Along with jet planes, motorboats and maybe a train.”
“Hey, thanks dude! I’m sure this lil guy will come in handy one way or another! Besides, I think I’ve only really seen the Galarian ones on TV...” Of course, Nate was just about to rush in for a bro hug.... only to realize that Hugh mentioned motorcycle driving lessons.
“Motorcycle lessons? BRO! Holy shit!” Now he wanted those extra badly! Especially since he didn’t know anything really about driving! After all, his pokemon were reliable and often times faster for what he needed... “Dude! They didn’t teach me any of that! Hell, I’m stuck resorting to my pokemon most the time! Either that or spendin top dollar to get someone else for me to drive. I actually would LOVE to learn how to ride a motorcycle like that badass one you have right there!”
Clasping his hands together, Nate bent down a bit as if he was almost begging... ok he was kinda begging. “Hugh, bro, my man... could ya please give me the lessons? Hell, I promise to stay in Unova while you teach me too! Please bro, please?”

“Hey man, got you something.” He’s rolling up to Nate like nothing happened earlier that morning. Sure, he was incredibly huffy about the argument afterwards, but all feelings of anger washed away when he realized it was his bro’s birthday, and Arceus damn it he forgot to get him a gift. He hands him a neatly gifted box, inside of it was his own gift.
“So this is a thing I use for myself, it’s a really cool but pricy skin care set that’ll keep your face free from blemishes and all that stuff. You think you won’t need it, but then the next thing you know you got that annoying zit on your chin and it’s a PAIN to cover it, that’s where this comes in.” And then the other box.
“This is from my dad, It’s designed to hold a mega stone in while also you know, not completely tear off your limb.” In the box, it’s a anklet of sort. Black as it its base color, but accents of gold and silvers swirls around it. It looks DOPE when it lights up too.
“Happy birthday, you old fart.” Curtis teases, handing him the gifts.
It looked like he had cooled off from him their little quarrel, so Nate was more than happy to put things aside! After all, his birthday so far has been fantastic! Hell, he was just happy to bring him into a bro hug for a moment! “Thanks dude! You don’t know how much this me!”
Grabbing the first box, Nate unwrapped it to find the kit! Carefully, he examined the labels as Curtis explained his gift. “No way huh? This stuff really works? Imma have to try it out soon! Most of the time I just use the makeup tips that I picked up from some of the stylists that have worked on me before, but hell would definitely be easier! Thanks bro!”
As he unwrapped the second box and opened it, Nate’s eyes began to sparkle. He knew exactly what this was! After all, Lucario was wearing something similar, but it was pretty standard fare stuff given to him by Interpol. This ways way more baller! For real! “Holy shit dude.... bro.... this is so fuckin rad! I can’t wait to show Lucario! Thank you so much man!!!!”

"I... didn't know what to really get for the guy who pretty much has it all so I hope you'll at least enjoy these." She sets her two gifts down on the table in front of him — two homemade frosted cupcakes (one for Nate and one made with pokémon-friendly ingredients for Lucario) and a gleaming golden bottle cap. "Happy Birthday, Nate."
Ah, yes, the trouble of having too much money is that it makes it harder for people to buy gifts, yet Nate’s eyes sparkled all the same as he eyed the two cupcakes! This was already going to be a great birthday, he could just feel it! “Oh, don’t worry! I’m sure these will definitely be enough!” Taking the cupcake that was probably for him, Nate took a small bite, taking time to savor the flavor.
“Mmmmm... this is really good! Thank you!” He said, swallowing his piece before almost taking another bite... almost. His eyes caught the glimpse of the Golden Bottlecap. Suddenly, his eyes lit up, grabbing it and examining it to confirm what this would be. “Wait... aren’t these for Hyper Trainin? I heard some powerful trainers collect these, and if ya give them one then they can help unlock a pokemon’s full potential!” Man, just thinking about it was already getting him pumped! This was even better than the cupcake!
Leaping up, Nate gave her a big hug, cupcake still in hand. “Thank ya so much! I’ve never had a chance to do one of these things, so I’m super excited to try it out!” The only problem was... which pokemon should he train with? Hmmmm....
All the meanwhile, Lucario was in bliss. This was a really damn good cupcake all for him.... something he deserves since he has to deal with the rest of Nate’s team on a daily basis.

“Happy birthday, Nate!” The young woman chirped, giving him a slight bow of greeting. In her hands, she holds two tickets to the battle restaurant by Pastoria, the other holding a large bag of rare, difficult to make, but delicious poffins for his pokemon. Some of them had specific amount of spices to give it a kick in the sweetness, some with a sugar undertone for the immense level of spice, and the lsit goes on. Just know they’re REALLY hard to make.
“I reserved a spot for us at the restaurant, you know the one by the valor lakefront? That one! I got it that we get to be there all day, and a nice hotel by it for us to go to afterwards. I figured since you like battling so much, it’d be a nice way to spend time together. And also,” She hands him the tickets and the poffin gently into his hands.
"I made some poffins for your pokemon. It’s a large bag too, I’d hope they wouldn’t run out soon. Happy birthday, Nate.“
Nate’s eyes first noticed the rather large bosom bag she was carrying, full of what seemed to be delicious treats! Poffins? Or were they something else? Well whatever the case he might have to wait to find out.
“Thanks Dawn! I really appreciate hearin that from ya!” He gave her a warm smile, although his eyes turned to the tickets as soon as she presented them. Taking a moment to look over them, his eyes began to widen in excitement as the words she spoke rang like a symphony to his ears. A full course meal... at a battle restaurant! Hell, he had been eyeing this one before during his time at Sinnoh, but it was hard to find someone who was a good enough battler to go.
Dawn, of course, was more than capable of holding her own, which made this trainer so overjoyed that he honestly was tempted to just rush over there immediately! His competitive spirit was a hard one to tame, but easy to get exited nonetheless. Hell, he was so excited that he almost didn’t hear the part about the hotel! Almost. The fact that she was willing to spend the night with him after an all day battle-buffet-dinner-date was icing on the cake, and a small relief as well! Still, that wasn’t going to stop him from flirting up a storm between battles... and during any tag team battles they might face together.
Taking the bag of poffins -- which honestly smelled great! She probably made them herself too which must have taken her all week or something -- Nate gave her the widest grin imaginable as he thanked her once again. “Thank ya so much! Really Dawn! I love it, and I’m sure my Buddies will love it too. I just gotta make sure Emboar and Arcanine don’t eat all of em in one go! They got the biggest appetites out of all of them.” He chuckles, so excited that he just sort of goes in for a big hug without thinking, before just as abruptly letting go.
“Anyways, we should really get goin soon! How bout we grab our outfits and meet up right after that, okay? Yo have no IDEA how I’m excited for this!!! Wait, no, ya definitely do, but still!!”
