The Story of Us-Chapter 20
Tumblr media
A/N: This is a rewrite of a story my good friend @spnbaby-67 allowed me to take and rewrite. All mistakes are mine. This is canon divergent, meaning some things that happened in the show will still happen here but with my own twist to it.
Summary: She and Dean met when they were kids. Even at such a young age, she knew that he was her soulmate. Being the daughter of a hunter, Michaela (Micki) Singer knew the life he led came with a price, but she was up to the challenge.
Pairings: Dean Winchester/reader, Sam Winchester/friend!reader, John Winchester, Mary Winchester (mentioned only), Bobby Singer, and more from the Supernatural universe.
Warnings: Flashbacks are in italics, fluffy stuff, angst stuff, character death, kidnapping, depression, semi-dark themes
Singer Salvage (May 2007)
Bobby and his daughter mourned Sam for hours until there were no tears left to cry and no more stories to reminisce. They both went their separate ways to clean up before reconvening in the kitchen.
Micki opens her mouth to tell her father the news she recently discovered but there was a knock on the door that interrupted her before she could speak.
Bobby looks at her silently asking if she was expecting someone but she shakes her head. He goes to the door and opens it, Micki right behind him.  They’re astonished and confused when they see Sam standing beside his brother on the porch.
“Hey Bobby,” Sam says with a grin.
“Sam,” Bobby says, hesitantly, “It’s good to see you…up and about.”
“Yea. Um, thanks for patching me up.” Sam pats Bobby on the shoulder as he passes and smiles at Micki. “Hey Mick.”
When Sam lets her go to walk on into the house, both Bobby and Micki turn their heads from watching his descent to look at Dean.
Dean shifts from foot to foot and then smiles. “So Sam’s better.  And we’re back in it,” he tells Bobby and then pushes past the older man and pulls Micki into his arms, kissing her passionately. A little too intense for Micki’s liking. Something is up; something ungodly.
Micki can tell from the kiss that Dean is trying to hide something. And she is determined to find out what!
When he pulls away, Micki eyes him and watches as he looks at everything but her. Oh, yea he is hiding something. Something major. But what?
Once the boys tell them about what the yellow-eyed demon disclosed to Sam, Bobby pulls out lore books and tomes and starts looking for answers. Sam begins reading some of the pages over the old man’s shoulder as Dean and Micki stay out of their way.
Dean still won’t look Micki in the eye, no matter how hard she tries to get his attention. Finally, when she is about to break and start asking him questions, Bobby speaks up.
“I got some more books in the truck,” Bobby says as he pushes away from the table and stands up. “Come on Dean. Come help me. You too Micki.”
Micki is following behind Dean and her dad until they get closer to the truck when Bobby suddenly stops and turns. “You stupid asshole! What did you do?” When Dean looks away, it’s all the confirmation that Bobby needs. “He shoves Dean. “You made a deal... For Sam, didn't you? How long did they give you?”
Micki's heart begins breaking as she realizes what her boyfriend had done. That’s why he wouldn’t look at her, wouldn’t meet her eyes. He felt guilty. Guilty and remorseful.
“Bobby,” Dean says but her dad cuts him off before he could say anything else. As Micki stands there and listens to Dean try to explain why he did what he did, Micki's heart breaks even more. It is completely shattered when Dean tells them how long he has left.
“One year.”
Micki breaks down in sobs as her dad and Dean’s conversation continues. “Which is why we gotta find this yellow-eyed son of a bitch,” Dean demands. “That's why I'm gonna kill him myself. I mean, I got nothing to lose now, right?”
Micki is seething through her tears as she listens to the love of her life belittle and dismiss his own life.
“Nothing to lose. That’s what you think?” Micki says as she reigns in her tears and stalks closer to him. She gets right in his face and if she wasn’t so angry, she might have triumphed over the fact that Dean seems frightened as he pulls back from her. “You goddamned idjit! I’m pregnant, you motherfucker! So yea, you got nothing to lose. Just a lifetime of watching our child grow up! I hate you,” she screams at him before rearing back and slapping him across the face. “I hate you!”
Micki turns and stalks back toward the house as she lets the tears flow. She bypasses Sam in the den and goes straight upstairs, slamming her bedroom door before falling face first onto the bed and crying harder.
Dean had sold his soul to bring his brother back! She couldn't be mad at him for that but she was fucking pissed that he did it so willingly, without so much as a thought of how it would affect her!
Singer Cabin (Present Day 2008)
There's a soft knock on the door as Micki is putting Maren down for the night.
"Mick? Sweetie,  can I come in?" her dad's voice comes through.
"Yea dad, of course."
Micki watches her dad step into the room and turn to softly close the door so as not to wake the sleeping child in her bassinet.
He smiles at his daughter as she sits on the end of the mattress before glancing at his granddaughter.
"What's up Dad?"
"Can't I just want to spend time with you?" Bobby scoffs as he stands there, crossing his arms. "How ya doin'?"
"I'm good, Daddy."
"I know this has to have been hell for you. Dean's back but life ain't exactly the same."
Micki chuckles as she leans forward, her elbow on her knees. “No, it isn’t. So much has changed. We have a child but Dad, so much is still unchanged. It’s going to take some getting used to, him being here, but fuck if I ain’t ecstatic about it. I would change my whole life for that man.”
“I know you would sweetie,” Bobby says as he joins her on the bed. “I know you would.”
“Can I ask you something Dad?” Micki asks as she sits back up, shoulder to shoulder with her father.
“What is it?”
“When he showed up at the house….” Micki begins and then pauses, pondering on how to word her question. “did you have to force him to come here? Was he, shit….did he even ask about me?”
Bobby smiles as he wraps an arm around his only daughter, his pride and joy.
“Girl, I couldn’t have kept that man away from coming up here if I tried.”

Sam offers a hearty salute, and Steve swears he hears a Hallelujah choir playing somewhere in the distance when Nat stares right at him and flashes that smirk that has had him hooked from the day they met.
"Guess we're all in."
Who Likes Nature, Anyways? (ao3) - Writer_Lethogica sam/bucky T, 1k
Summary: Nine Short Dates with Sam and Bucky, Date Three: Camping
EXCERPT:
“I think I went camping twice before going into the air force,” said Sam, helping set up the camp fire, “Once, it was two steps away from glamping, I think. My Tití – she got huge tents with mattresses like this, she brought a portable TV, one with a built in VCR, and a little generator, let Sarah, Gideon, and I eat Slim Jims and watch Die Hard as she made popcorn. The second time, I was on some trip with friends in college and it was probably the worst night sleep I had before I got into the army. It was a complete disaster. Didn’t pack the right kind of food, the tent was run over by another car when we were out on a hike, just bad experience all around.”
“Someone ran over your tent when you were on a hike?” asked Bucky, his eyebrows raised, “They could have run you over.”
“I know, right?” said Sam, the sun crawling behind the mountains in the distance, Bucky sparking the fire, “Lucky we weren’t taking an afternoon nap or something.”

HEART'S REDEMPTION - CHAPTER 31
Tumblr media
*Warning: Adult Content*
The Rockbridge Municipal Airport is a small affair, hardly big enough for a midsized aircraft to safely land and generally used only for small, privately-owned planes.
The Walkers arrive slightly ahead of them, having driven with the reckless speed of folk who know their local roads like the backs of their hands.
Ian Foley pulls his truck alongside Maria Walker's station-wagon and Jack Walker's old Dodge and cuts the engine with a sigh.
Beside him, Sam Asato sits with a little frown bending the sweet bow of his lips and Carlos Martinez has been obnoxiously jiggling his leg the whole drive.
They're all a bit on edge but Carlos seems especially frayed.
Ian realizes that, of all of them, he's the most vulnerable.
The Walkers are a tight-knit clan and Sam and Ian are bound on some level Ian can't even explain but Carlos is something of a loose thread.
If he has other friend, or any family besides Toni, he hasn't spoken of them.
"Hey," Ian says, reaching past Sam to touch Carlos’ shoulder,
"Whatever happens, we've got your back, Carlos. Don't worry."
He turns with a startled look and then smiles crookedly.
"Thanks, man. You're a good guy."
Giving his shoulder a final squeeze, Ian’s turn away, popping his door open with another sigh.
‘People keep telling me that, well, Sam and Carlos do, at least. Maybe one of these days I'll believe it. Hell, maybe someday it'll even be true.’
As the three of them join the Walkers where they stand near the end of the runway, the low hum of a distant engine reaches us on the air.
A moment later, a small plane comes into view over the valley's eastern edge, coming in on a gradual descent.
As it approaches, Ian recognizes it as a little Cessna 185 and watches with admiration as the pilot brings it down for a perfect landing, slowing and then taxiing to a halt in a designated spot.
Finally, the cockpit opens and the pilot helps Antonia Martinez to the ground and hands her a pair of small duffle bags.
She slings one over each shoulder, gives the pilot a friendly salute and then turns and walks towards us.
She wears faded jeans over brown work-boots, a white tank-top and a long-sleeved, black and white checked shirt tied around her waist.
She looks a few pounds thinner than the last time they saw her, the well-defined muscles in her shoulders and arms standing out with lean definition under her light-brown skin and as she approaches Ian sees dark circles under her eyes and a line of worry etched between her full brows.
If he'd had any doubts that her worry for Carlos was genuine, Ian doesn't doubt it now.
She's clearly had a rough few weeks.
Carlos steps forward to greet her as she approaches, hands at his sides and a nervous tension in the straight line of his back.
She walks right up to him without glancing to either side, without sparing the rest of us a look and stops less than an arm's length from him, fixing him with an intense stare.
For a moment no one breathes and then she smacks her hand across his face, the slap landing with a solid crack.
Ian hears Sam gasp and starts to step forward but he sets his hand on Sam’s shoulder and shakes his head.
Ian’s intuition says Toni has a lot of feelings to get through and anger was just what came out first.
He’s proven right when a second later she drops her bags and launches herself into Carlos's arms, squeezing so tight Ian can almost hear his ribs crack.
"You stupid little son-of-a-bitch," she sobs.
"How could you leave me like that? Do you know how worried I've been? I thought you were dead or something! I thought you were fucking dead by the side of the road somewhere, you little shit.”
"Auntie..."
Carlos pats her back and returns her embrace, choked by emotions of his own.
"Why, Carlito? Why'd you do that?" Toni asks, releasing him and grabbing his face between her hands, rubbing the red spot on his cheek where her palm had struck him.
"You know why, Tía," Carlos answers quietly, reaching up to gently grasp her wrists and draw her hands away from his face.
"You used me. You used me to do something bad. You made me hurt somebody who didn't deserve to be hurt and you treated me like one of your weapons or a tool. I couldn't let you do that to me anymore. And I'll tell you right now, I'll give you another chance because I love you and I miss you, Auntie but if you try something like that again... I'm gone for good."
Toni meets his eyes without blinking, though her own eyes are bright with tears and nods.
"I understand, Carlito. I know what I did was wrong. I'm sorry and I'm here to make it right, if I can."
With that, she steps away from him and finally looks at the rest of us, scanning the faces of the Walkers and finally letting her gaze come to rest on me and Sam.
She approaches and Sam shrinks closer to Ian’s side, though, between them, Ian thinks that he is likely the more dangerous, if he wished to be.
"I owe you an apology," she says, without preamble.
Her style is forceful and direct and in that, at least, Ian likes her.
"I'm sorry for trying to kill you, Mr. Foley and for trying to steal your demon. It was wrong of me."
Sam is about to protest that Sam isn't 'his' demon but he stops himself in time.
For one thing, the Walkers don't know that Toni is talking about Sam and for another, Ian senses Sam go still at his side, as if that's exactly what he expects Ian to say and he's bracing for a blow.
"Apology accepted," Ian says instead, letting her choice of words go unchallenged.
It's not that she's wrong, after all but if Sam is his demon, then Ian is equally his man.
The way she said it makes him sound like something that can be bartered or exchanged, bought and sold, a commodity of her trade.
She nods and starts to turn towards the Walkers but Ian clears his throat and angles his one apologizing yet.
Frowning, she turns back and gives Sam her attention, regarding him with reluctant curiosity.
"You're not what I expected you to be," she says.
"I'm sorry for what I did."
As apologies go, Ian has heard better and wonder whether Sam will let the lackluster attempt pass or demand something better.
Sam lets it go and Ian does the same to his breath, not having realized until then that he was holding it.
"Help us figure out what's going on here, and how to stop it, if you can and that will be apology enough," Sam says.
She gives him a small smile, the hard lines of her face softening a little and nods.
Next, she greets the Walkers, who give her a wary welcome and fill her in on more of the details of recent events.
She listens without interrupting, giving nothing of her thoughts away.
Ian realizes that he’s hopeful they can count her as a friend because he sure doesn't want her as an enemy.
When the tale is told and they're all on the same page, more or less, we set out across the tarmac for the far edge of the airport and the wild, rough land beyond.
Jack and Elliot Walker lead the way, finding a series of game trails that take us in a meandering but easy course to the site of the burned car.
The scene looks much as it did the last time we were here, which, Ian realizes with a little shock, was only the day before.
It feels like a long time ago.
Toni walks forward to examine the wreck without hesitation, sniffing the air, bending to scratch at the ground, kicking the twisted lumps of ruined metal that was once Inez's prized Sun-liner.
She kneels and scratches at the charred paint with a blunt nail.
"It was yellow and black, you say?" she asks, tilting her head and squinting at Inez, who nods.
"Well...I can tell you one thing," Toni goes on, pushing herself to her feet.
"Whoever did this is one fucked-up piece of shit. No one who wasn't would do something like this to such a beautiful car."
"No shit," Inez laughs.
"I rebuilt that baby from scratch."
"You did?" Toni asks.
"Sure," Inez returns.
"No reason a woman can't work on her own car."
"You're preaching to the choir, sister," Toni laughs, "and talking to a mechanic."
Several of the Walkers brighten with interest at this and as much as Ian loves some good cylinder-based talk, he hasten to refocus their attention on the problem at hand.
"Can you tell what happened here?" Ian asks.
"What kind of ritual was performed?"
"What makes you think it was a ritual?" Toni asks keenly.
Ian hesitates but Sam steps up before he can decide what or how much to divulge.
"I got an impression, the first time we were here," he says.
"This symbol..."
He kneels and scratches it in the blackened dirt with his forefinger, an oblong oval, taller than it is wide, with a horizontal bar through the middle.
"Hmm." Toni studies it with an intense but not surprised, expression.
"It's 'theta,'" she says.
"A letter of the Greek alphabet. It has a few meanings, one of which is 'death.' From what I can tell, this is a death-summoning, a ritual that calls death or a death-god, to a targeted individual. Ancient magic. Lots of variations across cultures," she goes on, leaning into the frame of the car and sweeping her fingers through the ash.
"Usually there's some sort of anchor, though. Something that marks the targets, so the death-magic can find them. We need to find it and destroy it before some poor fool picks it up. Whoever touches it becomes bound to the spell, marked as a target, and the magic won't give up until they're dead."
A sick feeling slithers its way up from Ian’s gut.
"What does it look like, this anchor thing?" he asks.
Toni shrugs, still leaning into the car.
"I don't know. Usually something small. In some circles a sachet is traditional, in others, a bone of some kind. Pebbles, stones—doesn't really matter, as long as it's small enough for the victim to carry around."
"Would this work?" Ian asks, pulling the little black marble from his pocket with an effort.
It's almost like another will is fighting his, urging him to keep it hidden.
Toni turns and her eyes go wide.
"Yeah... that would work. Where did you find it?" she asks, with a tone that suggests she's hoping I'll say something like, 'a gift-shop in Florida,' or 'I won it in a round of strip poker.'
Instead, Ian can only nod towards the car.
"In there. Among the bones."
"And uh... how do you feel about it?" she asks.
"You wanna let me hold it for a while?"
"Not really," Ian admits and then realizes that he’s already slipped it back into his pocket without even knowing what he had done so.
"Well, I'm not gonna lie," Toni says, staring at me with a frown.
"You're probably already fucked. But at least we'll have a good chance at catching this bastard in the act."
Ian hears Sam's little fierce-kitten growl and feel his hand reach for and close around his.
Glancing down at him, Ian sees that his skin has darkened several shades and is now distinctly more gold than ivory.
Ian catches Sam’s attention and shakes his head and he slowly turns pale once more.
Antonia Martinez is right.
Ian is in deep shit and he is already, undeniably, fucked.
‘But I'm not worried. Sam says he's a demon, that he's the literal spawn of some unknown hell and maybe that's the truth.
As far as I'm concerned, though, I've got a goddamned angel on my side.’
What earthly magic can stand against that?

Review 4 (The Sons of Sam: A Descent into Darkness)
Tumblr media
A lot of bad events have occurred in New York. It is hard to keep track or even know a lot of the tragedies that have happened throughout the years. I was surprised when I did not even hear about David Berkowitz. I felt the fear New York city had when the police could not figure out who was out shooting people and why. This man killed six people and injured seven people with a 44 caliber revolver. A lot of people were afraid to go out at night for a long period of time. This documentary focuses on the police's efforts and tactics to catch killers and how they respond to it. They also interview witnesses and residents who were close to the action. The documentary does a tremendous job telling David Berkowitz background and how it is linked to his crimes. But there is more to it than just David Berkowitz. He said he did not act alone. It is was an interesting watch and it told the story pretty well. Rating: 6.8/10

She has dark skin and back-length, wavy black hair with brown eyes. Her face, while appearing youthful, is heavily scarred due to a violent attack when she was twelve. She has forest green lipstick, which has become iconic for her. She also has a dark green wedding ring. She is often seen with a sugary sweet smile.
As the Great-Grandma, Marquita wears a modest emerald green military dress with dark green buttons. She has a pair of dark green leather boots. She also wears a dark green halo hat. Her Sam Browne belt is dark green. There is a cattle prod, a crop, and a phone on it. She has a shawl whenever she’s outside.
As a Tamer, Marquita wears the high-ranking Tamer uniform. It consists of a military jacket and modest pants with black combat boots and gloves. Unlike lower-ranking tamers, who wear a standard duty belt, she still has her Sam Browne belt. On it, there are several attachments for a cattle prod, a small radio, a tranquilizer gun, a retractable ketch-all pole, a signal beacon, mace, a flashlight, three pairs of disposable gloves, a small first aid kit, and a small utility knife. Her hair is put into a bun with an emerald green military patrol kepi hat, which is a sign of her status.

Skills: Marquita has acquitted many skills in her role of Great-Grandma, one of the highest roles that a female Delta Plus could have.

Flexibility: She is extremely agile and able to dodge incoming objects with ease.
Interrogation: Marquita, since her early years, is very talented when it comes to interrogation. Instead of using a harsh response, she uses gentleness to break down resistance. This is more effective and prevents false confessions.
Midwifery: Despite being a Delta Plus, Marquita has learned how to deliver a child with very little issue.
Motorcycle: Marquita can ride a military-grade motorcycle without issue.
Teaching: She has amazing teaching skills for primary and secondary school students.
Tracking: She has incredible tracking skills, able to track one’s scent from hundreds of miles away.
Personality: Marquita is a strict disciplinarian who praised obedience and conformity. She is very strict and harsh when it comes to teenagers as she believes that they have the discipline to prevent them from committing horrid crimes later on, as per the Codice dell'Adolescenza. Despite her harsh nature, she is neither cruel nor sadistic. She stated that she has shown “tough love” and a “firm hand”. While she has a disdain for teenagers, she has more hatred for child abusers as she will make sure they suffer a painful death or suffer in the Fields. In special cases, she would either have the accused in brutal Barbarian fights where they have a low chance of survival or get executed by teenage Alphas and Deltas to show how it is their responsibility to ensure the safety of other ranks. She often has a calm and sweet demeanor towards children and the elderly despite the brutal scars on her face. Marquita has little issue with when they can frolic. She understands that sometimes, people MAY have to bend the rules a bit to help others. When she interrogates people, she approaches them with kindness instead of harshness. This is meant to create a sense of security and allows the suspect to be more open. She even brought in tea, milk, and cookies to get them to trust her. She has a habit of overworking herself, even when she was pregnant or has recently given birth. This
Likes: Marzipan, Children, Her family, Barbajada, Having authority, Board games, Beagles, Barbarian Fights, Minor Textile Arts
Dislikes: Teenagers, Child Abusers, Rapists, Youth Crime, Chaos, Drugs, Over-indulgence/ Gluttony, Extreme Desire/ Lust, People who abused their authority
About: Marquita is a Delta Plus woman who has the high position of Great-Grandma, a title of disciplinary actions, management of youth, and untamed pups. She earned the title achieved by the time she was in her 20s. She was born in Rome, Italy. She is a military brat as her Delta father was a US serviceman, who married a Gamma woman. Due to the Great Economic Collapse, her mother had to work two jobs and her father had to help with crop production. In order to keep her busy, her father signed her up as a Junior Safety Patrol at age 10, an American-based volunteer program for guiding children and the elderly to their places of destination. While working there, she met a fellow patrol named Lidia Pavia. The two became fast friends. While it started as a safe and fun program, it soon became dangerous when youth gangs started to become more violent. Marquita and Lidia had to use abandoned ketch-all to fight them off, especially when they had to protect the elderly from harassment. The youth gangs were named Le Croci, L'equipaggio del Rasoio, and Le Vipere Elettriche. One day, when Marquita and Lidia were riding their bicycles to patrol, they were ambushed by twelve members of Le Croci, who was the most violent youth gang in Rome. The reasons for this attack were revenge and a rumor that the two girls were getting paid. The beating was so brutal that Marquita was left with facial scars and a cracked skull and Lidia died shortly after. This incident caused Marquita to have an immense dislike of teenagers whom she viewed as “corrupted”. When the PNP heard about the assault, they created a program to combat youth violence. One of them, Fiammetta Berardi, visited Marquita frequently and helped her recover from her injuries. The older woman recruited her to be a member of the Amazons, an all-woman neighborhood watch organization. Marquita was able to fetch off many teen criminals and brought them to the police department. This caused many PNP party members to have a keen interest in her, allowing her to appear in many campaign events and speak on youth crime reform. This led to the early form of Codice dell'Adolescenza, a system of how to manage and curb violent adolescent behavior. Shortly after the elections, Cezar Rosario’s wife, Lillemore, was assassinated by a supporter of the Sovereign Defiance Coalition. Marquita was hired to help track down the assassin and SDC members as a part of Operation Wrath of Mars Sol. She successfully tracked them down in hidden locations, some hundreds of miles away. To the surprise of Mason Gleeson, who was a counterintelligence officer, Marquita has shown unorthodox skills when it comes to interrogation, showing a “motherly” and “heartwarming” tone to give the suspect guilt, breaking their will, and a false sense of security. This allows the officers to gain more information, helping to lead to the end of the Rosario Crisis. When the Rank Creation Laws became active, Marquita was fifteen years old. Due to her teaching abilities and prior will-breaking skills, she was assigned to be the Headmistress of a Camp, which is a place where children and teenagers from Orange and Red families are taken to, known as Gioventù in Difficoltà. Marquita was very hesitant to do it since it was full of teenagers but she was encouraged by Fiammetta to follow the Codice dell'Adolescenza. At first, the teenagers refused to give her any respect, even getting physical with her. The young woman decided to get a cattle prod and called in a group of young women, whom she referred to as “Nieces”. She used a “firm hand” and a new version of the Codice dell'Adolescenza, which is split into five versions now. As the Headmistress, Marquita used her sugary-sweet personality to create a system of distrust when gang members turn against each other for extra food and rewards. Then, she used brutal and public punishments to break the offender’s will while scaring the other teenagers. It became successful when the teenagers started to stop resisting conditioning and accept the early Sol Fertilis ideology. Gioventù in Difficoltà has become known to have a zero percent escape and fatality rate, causing other camps to adopt her methods. When World War III broke out, Marquita was still the headmistress of the camp until the teenagers were “calmed” enough for her to give the job to someone else. She became a Matron for the Sol Fertilis Army, which is the head of nursing. While dealing with soldiers’ injuries, she also helped civilians as well. In the later parts of the war, she is the one to help young refugees, child soldiers, and trafficked children out of the war and into recovery. Once the war is over, Marquita meets a young man named Mesochris Bazzi, a Gamma Plus whose father works in a sweets shop that specializes in marzipan. The pair started a relationship and got married months later. Because of her talents, recognition, and conditioning skills, Marquita is appointed as Great-Grandma, the highest title for a female Delta Plus available. She worked with several Ministries and their Departments, such as Academia, Counterintelligence, Droughers, Marriage & Family, Information, Youth, Leisure, Justice, Foreign Affairs, Industry, and Interior. Her fearsome reputation has reached worldwide with some teenagers being afraid of what she could do while others want to see what would happen if they provoked her enough.
Sapienti’s Law- A Sol Fertilian adage that is typically known as; “Malice kindness will lead to strong control” or “True power comes from suffocating mercy”.
