THE WAY OLD FRIENDS DO
The REP, Birmingham, Thursday 23rd February 2023
It’s 2015. When a Grindr hook-up between two middle-aged men turns out to be a surprise reunion between former schoolfriends, a chain of events is triggered that leads to the formation of a gender-swapped ABBA tribute act. Like it does. Ian Hallard’s wonderful script, full of barbed wit and brittle emotions beneath the…
i wake up thirsty and i think of palestine. i go to the doctor’s office and i think of palestine. a sign in the corner of the waiting room says ‘this is a place of healing, disruptive behavior will not be tolerated’ and i think of palestine. they probably weren’t thinking of bombs and snipers and mass graves in parking lots. i call my parents and i think of palestine. i drive to the grocery store and i think of palestine. i look at the clear blue sky and i think of palestine. i put the dishes away and i think of palestine. i feed my cat and i think of palestine. i listen to music and i think of palestine. i read poetry and i think of palestine. i text my friends and i think of palestine. i think of palestine and i think of palestine and i think of palestine
when you call your reps to ask them to pretty please stop taking away your rights, remember:
In deep red areas you're a republican who is thinking of voting for someone else if they don't vote what you want on this specific bill because it impacts your republican ideals so very much
In swing states you're an undecided voter who's gonna go blue if they don't vote how you like
remember to call because that way their phone is going off and their peers can hear it because their offices are close together (emails and letters don't work like that), so it can rattle them if they get high volumes. remember that you gotta make them feel like they're losing something.
Just saw a video like "um actually rocky horror isn't good queer representation because frank sexually assaults janet" girl he kills and eats people. It's called the rocky HORROR picture show not the rocky cute gay rep tw t-slur picture show
Riders Across the Rain Swept Plains
Thursday night, we attended the theater and saw August: Osage County at the Rep. This play portrays the Weston family of Pawhuska, OK, who collectively totally take the fun out of dysfunctional. Presented in three acts, after the first one, I seriously considered asking Anne if we could leave, but I knew that she would say no. On my way out to the lobby, I…
If this post reaches 10k by MY Febuary 1st, I'll actually fix my sleep schedule, which, I'm sure you all know by now, is terrible (sleep at 2am, wake up at 6 or 7am)
I suddenly remembered the webtoon where this girl just pretends to be her crushes dog to make her happy and I don't know if it was like intentionally supposed to be pet play but it definitely was the comic that introduced me to the concept lol
NOISES OFF
The REP, Birmingham, Wednesday 30th August 2023
One of the funniest plays ever written makes a welcome return to the touring circuit after a smash-hit revival in the West End. Not so much a play-within-a-play as a farce-around-a-farce, it tells the story of an ill-fated production of a fictional farce, Nothing On, what used to be known as a Whitehall farce. The form may have fallen…

Call me Ishmael. But do not call me late for supper. Last night, we went to the theater and saw the new production of Moby Dick at the Rep. The hook for this revival was the introduction of aerialist to the theater. While hardly the same caliber of aerial stylings as the Chinese Shenyang acrobatic troupe, there introduction was a novel and interesting innovation. All of the ropes and…
