Back at the new-look Promenade at The Dorchester Hotel in Mayfair, following its lengthy refurbishment. The place looks fantastic.

Raspberry lemonade mocktails

Canapes included oscietra caviar, veggie sushi, and asparagus and hollandaise

For starters, burrata with truffle, candied beetroot, artichoke and walnuts, and tuna tartare

Rosettes of sole, verjus, toasted buckwheat, charred cucumber and almonds

Halal fillet of Aberdeen Angus beef with mouselline potatoes and red onion

For dessert, baked alaska with red fruit tea ice cream and raspberry sorbet. Delicious!

you guys have no idea how much it tickles me to see ds9 trending on the top 20 of shows of Tumblr this week when ds9 literally aired from 1993 to 1999.

this show is 31 years old. it was the black sheep of the franchise for years, was hated by Rick Berman to the point where its canon was disrespected and ignored for every subsequent star trek, including modern trek.

and yet.

still top 20 on trending shows of 2024.

and i'm so glad the youngins are still watching it, and star trek in general.

it just proves my theory that if you make a show that feels like home, people will not only return to it, but bring their children with them too.

also that if you make a really gay and trans half alien half human crew, your show will be timeless.

Heroes are chased by a murderous big-titty corporate executive with a croquet mallet.

There is a dead-serious plot about successfully delivering ice cream cake to a bunch of monsters without spilling any.

There is a very tense scene of the hero being outed to a family she's working with to navigate a giant game board.

A character's bond with a opossum is a deciding factor in a fight.

In an emergency, the main character uses fireflies to pull off a double-jump.

A villain catches the big bad wolf in a magic mirror and sics it on the heroes.

The main character does a magical girl transformation into a mailman.

I misled you, this all happens in one fucking chapter. And that's not even a full list.
