guys I had this realization the other day that Redwall works really well for reading aloud, and kinda half-remembered something about the author reading to kids? So I looked it up to see if I had made a connection.

And it turns out, yes, actually, because he read aloud to kids at a school for the blind. But all the books they gave him to read were depressing. So he wrote Redwall, a story about heroism and courage and making it through struggles, and filled it with so many sensory, visual details so he could give them something better and I just-- that's so wholesome-- help

alhaitham realizes he loves you after everyone else.

because no, kaveh doesn’t know what he’s talking about, and what would cyno understand about you and him, and tighnari is probably just jumping to conclusions.

yeah, sometimes he listens more when you’re there, answers a bit less bluntly, doesn’t seem to mind pausing his reading if you’re talking, holds a door and waits for you to catch up here and there, let’s you sit at his table at puspa cafe and join him when there are no other tables, chuckles a little sometimes, nods and hums and holds a conversation.

it’s not love, it’s simply that you have meaningful things to say and he doesn’t mind a conversation if it holds value. it’s not love, but that you’ve spared him kindness in a tough moment or two and the least he can do is help you out sometimes as well. it’s not love, just that you’re trustworthy when he needs something done in the akademiya and who else can he really ask.

it’s not love until one day, your toothbrush is next to his, there’s a you shaped indent in his sheets, coffee is being brewed while he sleeps peacefully, and there’s humming in the kitchen where breakfast is being made and…oh, he thinks. maybe it’s love. maybe the way he searches for you in corners even when he knows your not there is because he sees you in everything. in that silhouette he’s sure is you for a second, in that cloud he thinks you’d say looks like a heart with a pointed finger, in that pastry he’s sure you’ll like that he’ll have to remember to take home to you later while it’s still warm.

and then the pitter patter of your feet as you walk to the bedroom makes him close his eyes and feign sleep, and…oh, he realizes, he’s pretending he’s not awake for those scattered kisses you leave across his face to wake him up. when did he care for that? maybe it’s love. maybe it was love all along. maybe during the first meet. maybe during the first instance he heard you laugh. maybe during the moment he saw tears in your eyes the first time.

maybe it was love before he even found you—love that was always meant to exist in the space between your paths before they even crossed.

“wake up,” you murmur, kissing between his brows.

“i’m awake,” he mumbles back, holding your hand to his cheek. maybe kaveh and cyno and tighnari were right all along. maybe it’s always been love and you were always meant to teach him how it works.

thinking about ed leading a relatively mundane life post-canon while still having all the connections he made during his time as a state alchemist is very funny to me, especially when thinking about his kids' perspectives. several high ranking military officials send them birthday gifts every year. they know four different guys who can turn into animals and this is mostly just a party trick for them. the emperor of xing is a family friend. they go to school and learn about the state alchemists and hear about the youngest state alchemist ever edward elric and they're like "you mean our fucking dad? our loser dad who can't do alchemy and consistently hits his thumb when using a hammer and has a rivalry with our pet chicken? you mean that edward elric?"

hello friends and digital artists do you have any tips other than practice to help get more confident in like. the actual movement of the pen on a drawing tablet. my lines look Vastly better when im drawing faster and with more confidence but it is...difficult. is that what warm ups are for? it is sometimes a problem of me holding my tablet at an awkward angle (makes me wish i was drawing right onto a screen tbh) but not always. also i know sometimes practice really just is the answer but just in case theres some secret to it ya know
