I just skimmed through the art part of your blog and holy bajeebus your LMK art is so beautiful and the headcanon ideas you come up with are so good I wanna steal em-
Kinda wanna see like a part 2 of the little angst you did between MK and Macaque a while ago. It's so interesting and I wanna see Macaque's reaction in your art style. (You don't have to of course, it's just a suggestion [idk if i spelled that right])
Thanks for reading and hope you have a good day/night!

Part one here
#I’m sure there are some character nuances im forgetting but well 🤷🏽#I want their misunderstanding or whatever they have going on between then come to a head. literally just going ‘wait what’#for me I think it’s entirely possible that there was an actual fight and maybe tension leading up to that point#cause I feel like macaque is not just bitter about thinking he died to wukong but maybe some stuff that built up to that#maybe the fight was just the breaking point. maybe they’re idiots who don’t talk about it because they think they’re on the same page idk#chipper-smol wrote a cool theory abt them using macaques ‘you’re nothing’ line in s4ep1. from what I understand it could be a direct parall#parallel to when he said that to MK right before MK regained his nerve and hit macaque in the eye.. since flying bark foreshadowed monkey mk#waaaay back in season 1 (where his shadow is his monkey form in the opening) i think that could be deliberate#and they could have gotten billy to voice an entirely different line for that scene. but they reused his line from s3#in a very specific scene with wukongs narrative foil. hm#that aside I would have liked to hear billy voice the ‘you abandoned me’ line that would have killed me. but that’s just me lol#also looking at this I should have shaded the last frame to make it look more dramatic and serious but I ran out of time :(#if anything I want to see MK try and help them get back together. poor kid tries so hard to understand people so I think it would be cool to#see that happen. that’s what I like about him.. he asked macaque why he was working for LBD instead of accusing him of dooming everyone bc#he wants to and he tried to comfort spider queen by admitting he was scared of LBD too 😭😭#my art#myart#Lego Monkie kid#lmk#Monkie kid#lmk spoilers#Lego Monkie kid spoilers#lmk macaque#six eared macaque#lmk sun wukong#lmk swk#lmk MK#lmk xiaotian#lmk season 4#Lego Monkie kid s4

What if the organizing of the cases in the O.I.A.R being different from how they were organized in TMA with the original 14 entities is causing a remanifestation where the separations between the new entities are completely different. What if by organizing the cases and they are single-handedly driving this universes interpretations of the fears. They aren't categorizing existing things, they are creating the boundaries.

I think the black lines over mahiru's eyes were merely a creative choice to underline that mahiru was acting so out of character (from kuro's perspective) that kuro didn't recognize mahiru anymore, but this got me thinking. With the revelation that the count only reflects the beholder's feeling towards him:
Tumblr media
Would you even recognize him if your feelings towards him changed for whatever reason? I know he admitted himself that what he and kuro are to each others is strangers, but it does make me wonder if he did meet adam before, but due to the changed situation kuro didn't recognize him anymore when he awoke as sleepy ash.

Watched a lot of videos on non-human primate pet trade abuses, and I started thinking of the horror that the Flower Fruit Mountain monkeys went through.
By-standers in a war against Heaven.
From mathing it out; atleast 23500 of their numbers died in the Burning after Sun Wukong was captured for the Furnace.
Their King was missing for 500 years. How long did it take before the outside world discovered their paradise and began ravaging it?
Tumblr media
Apparently only two years after the Fires died down.
About half of those 23500 left the island for greener pastures (who would blame them?), leaving 11750 of SWK's subjects alone to defend themselves against the Hunters.
By the time of SWK's return during the White Bone Spirit arc; only 1000 of his people remain. Most being eaten. How many of those hunters looked a pleading yaoguai, almost human-looking, in the eye and decide to kill and eat them?
And it's canonical that many were stolen to be pets/performing animals. Fully intelligent and sapient monkey demons treated as circus animals or an oddity to be added to some noble's menagerie.
There were definitely survivors and those who were rescued, as evident by the monkey that tells this to Wukong when he arrives aghast at the state of his kingdom.
Did the Monkey King ever come across one of his people in his travels? Forced to preform for gold and food, or reduced to a domesticated lapdog? Did he rage? Was he allowed seek revenge for his people?
How would a chapter go where upon meeting a King or Emperor seeking help, the Pilgrims witness a monkey yao; chained, shaven, and dressed like a baby, at the foot of the throne? Or ones forced to become servants in the halls of kings who saw them as "cheaper" than their human counterparts? Multiple kingdoms in the Journey have outright human slaves - imagine the cognitive dissonance that would occur in a kingdom where demon life was "less than human", therefore it was ok in their minds for them to be enslaved.
The Camel Ridge Kingdom had good intentions ultimately. They were only doing what humans had been doing to them this whole time.

De facto partnership
…De facto partnership.
In Metatron’s words, ”I've been looking back over a number of your... previous exploits, and I see that in quite a few of them you formed a de facto partnership with the demon Crowley”.
You know, English is not my first language, and I’m not a lawyer at any point, so I just was thinking “Yeah, this is about Aziraphale and Crowley basically being in relationship unknowingly for Heaven”. But today I decided to google it. And turned out, this term actually has at least two meanings??
I mean, the first one is something I expected, more or less:
A de facto relationship is a relationship between two people who are together as a couple, but who aren’t married or in a civil union.
But the second one?
A de facto partnership, sometimes called an “Ad Hoc Partnership”, is an informal business arrangement between two or more parties.
Business arrangement. Arrangement.
And we know that for some time aziracrow tried to position their Arrangement and their relationship as a purely business transaction.
And well, by the time of S2E6 Aziracrow being “together”, be it in romantic or any other way, has been a secret for no one for four years. And it is definitely not a secret for Heaven at that point. It doesn’t exactly needs “looking back”, you can just ask Uriel about them.
But by implying he knows about the Arrangement, Metatron is all but confirms that he indeed looked back over Aziraphale’s files – you know, the same way Michael did in S1. And he looked through them carefully.
What else he could see? I don’t know. But there is at least one thing that potentially could get into these files undetected – at least at first. One thing that both Aziraphale and Crowley gravely need to keep a secret from Heaven and Hell if they want to survive.
You know. The secret behind them surviving in the end of season 1.
And there is a possibility that Heaven (or at least Metatron) already know everything.

Alright now that the elections are officially behind us I'd like to write a theory for the jaiden enjoyers (me)
So her past with the federation is canon at this point, but we don't know what happened those years and what made her leave.
My theory is that Jaiden was a scientist in the federation, who helped create Cucurucho and had some involvement with the creation of the eggs (assuming that they are in fact federation made) that would be the help that Cucurucho told her about
Now the reason why she left I think it's cause she grew attached to all of her creations including the eggs, she always wanted to let them live as children while the rest of her team wanted to continue the experiments, she couldn’t see any empathy in her colleagues who wanted to experiment on those children, especially on little Bobby who was always so kind to her, but he was faster than the other eggs and they wanted to find out why.
So one day Jaiden packed all her belongings and just flew away, the island was not as protected as it is nowadays, maybe her escape was the reason for it, but weird was that as soon as she left and reached the next islands she started to forget her own name, and then where she came from and lastly the memories of all the eggs smiling at her when she allowed a bit more playtime for them
She remade her life, as an tatto artist with a tiny cramped apartment but she was happy, until one day she woke up inside that train
"Welcome back" they said, and maybe she had always been destined to come back... home

So like, I’ve talked about how Rayla leaving metaphorically / emotionally killed Callum in a lot of ways: the prince of Katolis paired with the king she set out to kill, both high mages, etc. I’ve talked about Rayla’s consistent place in the narrative as both a tool for his destruction and his salvation / rebirth. And last but not least, I’ve talked about how Callum and Rayla have both become more like each other in season four
However I haven’t talked about all of these being brought together, which is to say
In season four, Callum is acting like he is already dead
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s emotionally shut down, he’s self isolating, he’s trying not to feel anything, he’s the one trying to leave - he’s the one trying to let go (of her). He asks Rayla to kill him because in some way, in his mind, she already has (leaving in his eyes was choosing the mission over him in the worst way possible; he doesn’t understand it was her misguided attempt at prioritizing him) and now he’s asking her to finish the job.
Which also means out of four seasons, we are four for four of Rayla and Callum having an exchange, at one point or another, about him dying by her hand
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is also something the Book One novelization foreshadowed / talked about as well:
“Wow. So they look identical, but they might kill you or they might save you,” Callum said.
“Exactly. Just like me…” Rayla smiled.
This is also paired with statements like, “She’s alive. And wherever she is, she loves you, too,” which creates an underlying element of “As long as she has breath, she has love for you,” which is an absolutely insane kind of intensity and I love it so very much.
Dark magic is also associated with death in many ways, as Callum says of the dark magic rune on the primal cube in his dream, “It represented death” (S2 novelization) as well as Sol Regem’s statements, “I smell death” (3x01) and Aaravos being “worse than death” (1x08). It’s no wonder that Callum would rather die than experience something worse than death again, nor that he’s turned to Rayla to do the task for him.
It speaks to the layers of irony TDP always likes to write from, which Rayla being willing to die for him and then faced with him possibly attacking her in the future season (an inversion of their first meeting) as well as Callum asking his would be assassin turned estranged gf to murder him in the first place. Especially when, thanks to her, he already feels dead - and thanks to her coming back into his life, she brings him back to himself and back to his emotions again - she brings him back to life just as much as he brings her back to life.
Tumblr media
They’ve always placed agency back into each other’s hands when they each felt like they had no choice to do anything else (“Why? You know this is wrong” and saying she can choose a different path / “Say the word and I’ll go back into that tower with you”). They’ve always helped each other choose their own destinies, to ultimately choose life and a life with each other in the end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This’ll be no different in the end, I think.

I was going to save this until I reread Hollowpox, but that last ask reminded me that I should share this here, so I present:
Musings on Maud: Why is she considered so powerful, how does this affect her dynamic with Squall, and why is he so scared of her?
(Bonus: How can I connect it to Silverborn?)
Two disclaimers: I haven't reread Hollowpox in ages, so if there's anything that could prove or disprove stuff in this post, send it my way. Honestly send any discussion my way. I love discussing theories. Second, this was originally a reply to a Reddit comment on a post, to which you can find here. The comment discussed Maud being a signatory for a Squall safeguard, so since this comment is copied verbatim, it references that.
---
If it’s not outright stated, it’s at least heavily implied that Squall helped create/build up the Republic. It’s only existed for about 90 years, and Squall has been exiled for about 100. He mentions in Hollowpox how he knows that Maud’s plan is to take over Nevermoor/The Free State, because the Republic took over the other states in the realm and he “helped them do it.” However, unless Maud is immortal and also 100 years old, she is not the one who started the Republic from the side of the Republic. Also, no clue how long it’s been around, but Squall Industries has likely been around for awhile as well (this is how he gets his connections and power in the Republic), with Squall just constantly grandfathering himself in with the vampire trick or something.
Interestingly, Squall says two things in this scene (Chapter 34 of Hollowpox) that stick out to me:
“I made the so-called Hollowpox,” he raised his voice above hers, “because I was asked to. Because I was compensated handsomely for it. And because when the most powerful person in the realm asks for a favour, even I don’t refuse.
And
“But you’re a Wundersmith.” Morrigan was utterly baffled. “Why can’t you just stop them if they’re such a problem? I don’t understand!” “Do you THINK I HAVEN’T—“ Squall shouted, then cut himself off abruptly.
He also mentions how the Hollowpox was initially meant for the Republic, but Maud snuck in an infected otter across the border into Nevermoor— “That was never part of our deal.”
There’s definitely a business relationship between the two of them of likely consistent deals, one favor for another, quid pro quo. However, we also see that Squall can’t really go against her, something he seems to have tried before. Two chapters before this scene (Chapter 32), has this moment:
“Yes, shush. Maud said the Wintersea Party might help if there was a squid crow po.” “Quid pro quo?” “Right, one of those. She said they won’t do something for nothing, but if we could convince Prime Minister Steed to meet with her, just to have a conversation, then she would try to convince her party to share their cure.”
While it could be easily explained as part of her job, Maud seems to get most of her power and do things by extracting deals from other people. Maybe she’s knackless, or maybe she has some sort of connection to Puppeteering or a knack related to that. Not Mesmerism, but something that allows her to be persuasive, manipulative, convince people of things, and get them to do what she wants. A sort of parallel or companion to Squall’s connection with Puppeteering that we see in Wundersmith.
It’s interesting that when we first meet Maud, there is this exchange directly after she tells Mog that the Wintersea Republic would only agree to help the Free State if there was some sort of deal:
“But they’re your party,” Morrigan pointed out. “Aren’t you the one with the power? Maud stiffened slightly and cast her a wary, calculating look.
And then soon later she says this:
“Even if I could persuade my party to do the right thing – and I’m not saying I won’t try – there’s no guarantee Steed and his government would come to the table.”
The whole exchange seems very manipulative, like, “oh, I’d LOVE to talk and get this figured out, but I can’t…” There’s a big focus on conversation. Maud is wary when Mog mentions power— she thinks she means a magical power, something secret that gives her an advantage, when really she just means politically— so I wonder if she was worried for a moment that Mog realized she had some sort of coercive power.
I wonder what exactly her power is that makes Squall so scared of her, and why it possibly makes it so that he can’t fight make and overthrow her. Aside from their business relationship, which allows Squall access to Wunder and being a Wundersmith, there’s this other layer as well.
As for safeguard: I don’t know if Maud would be a signatory for a Squall safeguard, as that seems to just be for Wunsoc students, but I think that whatever their deal is and whatever her power is allows her to keep him in check. Jess said that we will learn more about safeguards in Silverborn, and I think it would be interesting if Mog learns more about them from Squall instead of Jupiter— and maybe it does end up being similar to whatever he has going on with Maud, who knows! I don’t really have any safeguard theories myself, but I will keep an eye out for what you add to your comment.
A Silverborn “silver” side note: A “silver tongue” means that someone is persuasive when they speak….. perhaps this idea, theme, power, etc. will be expanded upon in the future 🤔

I know that Steph's death was retconned to have been faked and that she only haad a near-death experience—and, yes, I prefer this version of events because while it's extremely doubtful that Leslie would ever pull this stunt, it's at least morally correct for Bruce Wayne's loved ones to lie to his face and mess with his ego—
But I'm not on board with saying that Cass reuniting with Steph in death was just a "hallucination". No, Steph wasn't among the spirits of the dead. But I like the think that rather than Cass having a close encounter with a spirit of the dead, instead Cass as a spirit of the dead visited Steph's dreams.
In dreams and death, the line between the reality where Steph survives and the almost-reality where she died is blurred. But love and comfort and bonds between souls are the only things that are truly real.

There's just something about this subtle smile I adore. It's so small and you'll need a sharp eye to see it, but when you do there's something so warm and genuine about it.
Especially after Spyke and Annie's return in their original roles. Especially now that they're all on the same team in a more official sense.
Especially since Spyke and Murch still keep in touch (in part, out of obligation).
Because now I think that, despite his newfound skepticism towards Spyke, one that causes his admiration for him to be in question, there is genuine concern for his wellbeing. And I like to picture that smile as his genuine reaction to a text Spyke sent him, or an update about the guy from Annie.
Murch, through a developing child's lens, experienced Spyke and what's possibly his worst. He was miserable through the events of Splatoon 2, but he could never understand why. Was it the uneventful stint he had? Was it the suffocating situationship he had with Flow? Murch may never know.
But he knew he wasn't happy with his life.
So, seeing this man who raised him feel like his old self...
I like to think that's what he's smiling about.

Since I very sincerely doubt Uther managed to kill ALL the Dragonlords (they're knights, not the KGB, and it was a lot easier to disappear back then) imagine them returning to Albion from Rome or whatever to find Cousin Balinor's only son is ruling Camelot and the Druids, is best friends with an immortal knight and one dude that's been raised from the fucking dead, is bonded to THEE oldest dragon they've ever heard of (and who is also nuttier than squirrel stew) and a semi-feral hatchling that barely listens to four (4) people max and hisses/bites/claws at the rest, and oh yeah, is married to a fucking Pendragon.
Tumblr media
Family dinners must be a hoot and a half.
oh to be a fly on the wall when they finally make an audience in Camelot. oh to see Merlin's face morph from apprehension to wonder to exhaustion to horror because they're telling Arthur everything they know.
#obviously these guys arrive post battle of camlann and post magic ban being lifted#they heard about the new king of camelot being the once and future king wanted to see that for themselves (they have so many questions)#they create a dragonlord support group for merlin#honestly my question is when exactly did the dragonlord population start dimishing#sure okay we can say during the Purge and Uther isn't one for mercy so he would totally go on a warpath...but they're dragonlords and yet#they lost to a mad king who only had knights on his side.#theory: dragonlord population was dwindling long before the Purge#other kingdoms in Abion were growing suspicious and wary of dragolords and their ability to “control” dragons#many kings felt threatened by it and sought to exterminate them#paranoia for magic prob been around long before the Purge (twas only the catalyst for a century long tension bt royals and sorcerers)#think WW1 kind of tension between kings and dragonlords: kingdoms were beginning to stabilize/unify; territories were drawn out#oh bro i am now actually very interested in exploring the events leading up to the Purge#my theory: Ambrosious the king said to “unite” Albion that first time had issues with gaining fealty from dragonlords#dragonlords saw themselves as neutral ambassadors but Ambrosious saw them as threats; they reached some treaty but the animosity stayed#every line of succession you have a king seeking to get dragonlords under their rule and dragonlords refusing#then maybe a king or so before Uther less heirs for dragonlords occur; less eggs hatch or are allowed to hatch (kings find them and keep#the prized eggs in their vaults full of treasure blatantly ignoring the very sacred and important dragonlord customs)#but then the Purge comes and now many dragonlords are hunted down and killed and many leave to never return#so yeah maybe Balinor was the last dragonlord on Albion by s2 finale but not because they all died but bc he was the last one who stayed#and lived since everyone else now reside elsewhere in the world refusing to rebuild the bridge the kings had burned#bbc merlin#dragonlords#headcanons#asks

I feel like I'm not especially good at or interested in prose tbh but I've always found it fairly easy to write natural-sounding dialogue. I could happily write pages and pages of nothing but dialogue like it feels like I can Hear These People speaking in my head and I know exactly what they'd say

Hello hello, welcome back to more evidence that Jay Walker (S1-S7) and Jay Walker (S8-S16) are not the same person, but instead the S8-S16 Jay is actually a shape shifting alien from the comics that's been attempting to steal his identity since season three,
And it worked.
-Edna And Ed Walker
Ed and Edna Walker were very prominent in Jay's life during S1-S7, with minor and major roles in S1, S6, and S7. However, when S8 rolls around they are seemingly never mentioned again? Why? I'll tell you why.
He's not their son, and therefore those are not his parents. Shapeshifting aliens don't have parents.
-Sudden Obsession with Trains
Trains, who doesn't love trains. I'll tell you who doesn't, Jay Walker in the earlier seasons. Clearly this quirk in S16 is the alien trying to cover his tracks, guessing what Jay would like based on his interest in vehicles.
-The eyebrow slit
Do I even have to explain this one? Do I? I will anyway
I miss it, you miss it, we all miss the iconic Jay eyebrow split. If you say otherwise you are a liar and a scoundrel. But where did it go? Come around Season 8 and it's disappeared. Maybe the hair grew back? Makeup coverup? Or the most likely option;
The shapeshifter just forgot Jay had that and realized too late. What a dummy.
Now Soda, Soda, maybe this is just because of the redesign basing its designs on the movies, in which Jay had no eyebrow slit, and just maybe Ed and Edna haven't been relevant enough to mention in the past nine seasons, maybe, just maybe, he's always liked trains and just never mentioned it. I mean, he was fully willing to get run over by one in the earlier seasons. And just maybe, maybe, I really need to get some sleep.
Goodnight

just finished Edible Complex. okay um theory time. so something I’ve been thinking about since the premiere is *when* exactly does everything happen. and after this episode i really do think the culty stuff takes place during the second winter they’re out there. walk with me here.
based on the fact that 1) women’s soccer is a fall sport 2) shauna applied early decision to brown, I’m 100% sure their plane crashed in the fall, not the spring. we know they crash in 1996 and come back in 1998. nineteen months. if they’d crashed in the spring of ‘96, they’d be returning around november of ‘98 at the very latest. so. crash in October of 1996. that means they return in May of 1998. They’re out there for two winters.
By the second winter, we can see that they’re a lot more organized. Like just based on the pilot alone, we know they’re living, like, among the woods instead of hiding from it in the cabin (the animal skins! the fact that they move smoothly outside at night!), that they can communicate wordlessly, that there’s a clear leader and hierarchy. this is a society that took *time* to develop. Pit Girl isn’t gonna get eaten for another year. I do think Lottie is the Antler Queen--did you see the hair sticking out through the slits in the sheet? Lottie’s for sure. Either she lets it grow long enough that it’s naturally that length, or she snips sections of it off to form part of the costume. I have more thoughts on some of the photos that got released but I’ll save that for another post.
Anyways, I’m also 100% sure the same spirit that possessed Lottie is the one that dumped the snow on Jackie’s, um, funeral pyre. The camerawork was the same--this kind of swirling (almost like wind), malevolent movement. Whatever is out there *wants* the girls to give in to their deepest, basest desires. It’s not going to force them, necessarily, but it does deal in temptation. If your team captain’s body smoked for hours on maple, alder, and aspen trees, and you were so so hungry--wouldn’t you give in and eat her too?
