Every time I watch a Peter Pan adaptation I start shipping Peter and Wendy and hope that they stay together despite knowing that the whole point of their story is that Wendy learns that growing up isn’t always a bad thing and eventually has to leave Peter and Neverland.

#fave spotting #anthony ainley #the adventurer #doctor who #the master #ainley!master #classic doctor who #itc #1972 #the bradley way #perhaps villain is a little unfair; it's briefly established that Ainley's doctor is a genuine medical professional whose involvement in #the villains' plot is because of pressure being applied on his family behind the iron curtain (so... does Gene defeating the #baddies plan get Ainley's family killed?? who knows‚ but i can't imagine it would lose Mr World's Greatest Everything any sleep) #he may not have been The Master yet but Ainley was a fairly regular face on tv at this point in his career. earlier in 72 he'd been a #co lead in ATV's spy thriller Spyder's Web‚ as well as recently guesting in high profile series like Elizabeth R‚ The Shadow of the Tower #and Out of the Unknown. he'd even recently made film appearances‚ with strong roles in The Blood on Satan's Claw and Assault #really this was his busiest period; by the time he was making Dr Who Ainley was more or less financially secure and didn't need to work #(famously he just absolutely loved being The Master‚ and it was more or less all he did from the 80s onwards until the end of the classic #series secured his retirement). i can't honestly say that he attacks this role in the same way as he did the Master‚ but then it's not much #of a part all told; he's just there to be doctorly and occasionally suggest sinister things are afoot. but always nice to see him pop up

Pact spoilers for basically the entire thing?

Okay really funny thing I just remembered about Pact/Worm. Maggie Holt is a YA series in Earth Bet. Specifically she sort of replaced H*rry P*tter.

So now, I'm imagining her book titles are similar like the first book is called Maggie Holt and the Goblin Queen and focuses on how she became aware and how her town was destroyed by goblins and it probably has a super cool scene where she get her implement before it ends when she moves into Jacob's Bell.

Then the second book is called something like Maggie Holt and the Death of the Diabolist or Maggie Holt and the Fall of the Thorburns focusing the first couple of chapters as her and her dads getting their footing in town and her meeting and trying to figure out the local practitioners when ding dong the super scary demon summoner lady that threated to unmake you fucking dies and hands off the metaphorical nuclear bombs to a girl your age that the other scary powerful people basically orders her to kill.

Meanwhile the entire first half of the book she has a romantic subplot going on with Padriac the Farie in the background. And then Blake gets introduced and it seems like the book is going for a love triangle thing but then gets completely subverted when Padriac reveal himself to be a complete asshole and Blake seems pretty good until oh no hes a monster now luckily hes still a good guy deep down but oh wait hes got a monster girlfriend now.

And around this book is when the fandom basically explodes and you've got people shipping literally everything and nothing like somebody will chime in "obviously the author doesn't want to add romance to the story so we shouldn't ship anyone" and someone will shoot back like "yeah cool story. anyone want to read my Maggie/Molly/Green Eyes ot3 fanfic?"

#the third book is called Maggie Holt and the Girl in the Checkered Scarf #its starts of from Padriac's POV as Mags works to get her name back #after she finds him he almost immediately gives it back but then reveals that the name now has promises that Maggie Holt needs to fulfil #or else shes forsworn. it ends with her sending a town somewhere like the Abyss of the Warrens with Padriac trapped there #wildbow #parahumans #worm #pact #Maggie Holt #pact web serial #im imagining at the end of all her books she ends up destroying a town until the series end when shes final moved into her own place
