The Alliance in Mass Effect is a military dictatorship subjugating all Earth nations and colonies, pushing people to flee into the Terminus system to escape.

This is a bit agressive, but ever since I had this headcanon, I could not help seeing confirmation everywhere, most likely confirmation biais. I know it's left vague, but I love this idea. And it justifies why everyone is terrified of humans getting so much power so quickly.

Roles of the Alliance:

Luminary: The leader of the Guild. The cat that makes the final decisions, and are “blessed” with nine lives from the stars.

The Star-Speaker(s): Cats that commune with the stars, Seuline’s servants, the cats that bless kittens and warrior blades.

The Herbalist(s): Cats that heal wounds, both mental and physical.

The Council: A group of cats in high power that act as the Luminary’s paws, claws, and eyes. The enforcers, the influential warriors. They debate the Guilds issues before presenting them to the Luminary.

The Heir: The cat in line to become the next Luminary.

The Crafting Head: The cat that oversees all the crafting in the Guild of baskets, jewelry, nests, buildings, and the like.

The Hunting Head: The cat that sends out the warriors to stake out large prey, makes traps for food, and spearheads the Hog Hunts.

The Head Cook: The cat that keeps track of food, sources of it, and the Cook-Den(Kitchen)

The Keeper: The main cat that makes sure the Bastion is clean, and keeps track of the kittens.

Warriors: The everycats of the Guilds, who patrol the territory, and hunt for prey.

Crafters: The cats that craft baskets, jewelry, nests, buildings, and the like.

Cooks: Cats that prepare food for eating, and preserve food for the hard seasons.

Monarchs: Cats that watch, teach, and care for kittens.

Apprentices: Cats that are training to be in one of the above roles. 6 to 12 moons old.

Kittens: The baby cats that are too young to be trained.

Elders: Retired cats that tell stories to the younger cats.
