What platform are you using for DAI? If you can't get it to work on PC, it may be an issue with what your computer can manage. I play on XBox One and PC, and need to use a disc for the XBox version.

it's a disc for ps3. i'm aware there's problems in general w this version i just gotta figure out how to get it to the first save 😅 my internet's also shit so i'm fighting a war on numerous fronts
