⭐️10 Characters, 10 Fandoms, 10 Tags⭐️
I was tagged by @i-hate-liking-batman. I have agonized over this list. It's so hard. But, here it is. In cases where I flip flop on who my favorite character is for a fandom I left them off the list entirely. It was the only way I could keep it at 10 (and also actually not flipflop another dozen times before posting). These aren't in any specific order, that would be too much for me.
1. Stitch - Lilo and Stitch
Anyone who enters my house knows I love Stitch. It's basically a problem at this point.
Tumblr media
2. Kurumi - Steel Angel Kurumi
Am I really gonna admit this? Yeah, yeah, I am. Kurumi is the first character I went all 'she's my waifu' over. She will always have a place on lists like these because of that.
Tumblr media
3. Natsume - Natsume's Book of Friends
I want to burrito him in a blanket and give him all the love and support he deserves.
Tumblr media
4. Link to the Past Link - Legend of Zelda
Out of all the Zelda games LttP Link is my favorite. (Though Tetra is a very close second). He turns into a rabbit! It reflects his true character! He's a baby that is scared all the time and yet he still goes on this epic adventure to save the world and right after losing his uncle, his only family.
Tumblr media
5. Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz - Phineas and Ferb
If poor little meow meow didn't also have objectification I would give that title to this man. But he is impossible to objectify, which is also the way it should be. He is something more pathetic than a little meow meow. I love him. (Perry was a close second on this one.)
Tumblr media
6. Kanna - Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid
Can I have one of my own? Dragon powers, bug eating, and all?
Tumblr media
7. The Fool - The Realm of the Elderlings Saga by Robin Hobb
Genderfluid character with a mysterious backstory that has more and more revealed as the books go on? I love so much about The Fool but I would end up writing an essay if I tried. This is the only official art I could find of him and it's...fine.
Tumblr media
8. Viral - Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
If Kurumi was my first waifu then Viral was my first husbando. He just wants a family and he can't ever have one and he wields an oversized butcher's knife, do I really need to say more?
Tumblr media
9. Gwendolyn - Odin Sphere
Just look at her. There is nothing else to explain.
Tumblr media
10. Geno - Mario, specifically from Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars
If you've play Super Mario RPG you already know why he is on this list. If you haven't played Super Mario RPG then you should.
Tumblr media
And that is it. With that, I tag @thenarator, @dragonofelder, @plugnuts, @aerislei, and anyone else who wants to do it. No pressure to anyone I tagged.

Xaom x Odio  天元突破グレンラガン (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann)  Xaom/deviantart.com c o l o r f u l  *Note.. This will be my final art drop of the year, save for the annual Christmas card, and I wanted to take this opportunity to share some of the unofficial works I came across while doing research and digging for this retrospective. I wanted to do something special with these, as I think sometimes the unofficial work (fan arts) can be just as interesting as the work of the official artists who work in the studios. As well I wanted to show some love to my favorite girls of Gainax, Khara and Trigger..... Sadly Bones will have to wait to get their due in 2021. I would like to take a moment to thank all of you who have helped make what could have been the worst year into one of the best. You guys are so fundamental in making this all work, and supplying me with the direction on where to take it in the future. I am starting to drop the "me against the world attitude" I have held for most of my life for a more "we are all in this together" take on things. I want you to know that yr not only allowing me to grow creatively but personally as well. I thank each and every one of you for that. In the coming weeks as I take this little break from the art and editing I am going to to be working on some projects I have been forced to place on the back burner. I will refine my printing process, set up tiers, and  be ready to Launch the Patreon in January. As well as some other creative projects outside of my normal wheelhouse. More so I just want to take stock of all that has happened this year both good, and bad and allow myself a little time to process it all, and just feel grateful for where I am, what I have, and where I want to take it. More than anything I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your love and support. I really do love you guys. If not for you I would never try to find that best version of myself. I think you all deserve nothing but the best. If you do not hear from you before then please have a safe, and happy Holiday, and New Years. Love you all. -Wolfgang (2020)

So...
In 2007 I’ve watched one of those anime that changes life, it was “Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann”. And I won’t be saying now what message carries this series, because everyone who watched this know that it’s far more than just mecha-action-shounen thing. But to be fair, I loved it’s chaotic energy and pure “I HAVE WILLPOWER TO DO EVERYTHING” not to mention “do the impossible, see the invisible”.
So yeah. And then, years later I’ve watched “Kill la Kill”, and this series have similiar theme of full chaos, which I love.
SO, when I saw that there’s animated movie called “Promare”, made by TRIGGER, I’ve said to my bff “yo, my friend, we’re watching this asap”.
And. We. Did.
So, what do I think about this movie?
  (WARNING! Spoilers ahead)
Well, I saw all those word’s about how amazing it is and how it changed someone’s life and... I think it’s a good movie?
*dodging the knife from someone shouting “I DISAGREE”*
WELL. It is a good movie. Enough for me to find my new adopted son (Yes. It’s Lio. Why do I always have to embrace and print those adoption documents everytime when there’s a blond feral kid somewhere? Gladion, Yurio, Katsuki, I’m looking at you), and to have a ship and opinion about those characters and movie itself.
BUT I also have to say that I don’t remember that much soon after seeing it. Like ok. I still remember all the important stuff, like fight for rescuing the all burnish people, or the fact that Galo is absolute sunshine. But in the same time, I’ve forgot half of the names. Like all the names I can remember are Lio Fotia, Galo Thymos, Kray Foresight, Lucia, Aina, Heris and Meis. Like ok, there were other names but I can’t connect them with characters. Like, the show didn’t make me to give a sht about that, and that’s sad.
What I didn’t liked was the animation. I get it that there’s this new trend to make anime movies with 3D, and they tried to mix 3D with 2D, but sometimes there was not enough frames and moves were weird, and to be honest- sometimes I had no idea what’s going on. Still Lio’s volcano scene or the final battle were amazing, but I’ve needed time to adjust myself to the animation.
It also was sad that I needed just one glance at Kray to say “oh, so this is the bad guy here”, but I have to say, they revealed the truth rather quickly, so I don’t think that they even tried to make this a big “LE GASP” moment. The truth about who he is and what he can do- that worked better.
What I totally loved? The music. Like, my favourite one is “NEXUS”, and I can hear it over and over and over. Even if you’re not into this type of anime, I can tell you that the music is pure gold and shall be loved.
I also really, really like the main duo.
Lio and Galo are great, and I like both the angsty flame and #1 (Sunshine) Idiot Firefighter. I even kinda ship it. It’s nice that creators have left this with “you decide on your own” if there’s a thing between them.
But come on. “Take responsibility”, heat-shaped cloud behind them, pink triangles everywhere, official art where they’re literally married? Fact that Galo’s first reaction when he saw Lio in rage (as a flame dragon) was not “Oh sht fire is everywhere I have to put it down”, but “Lio? Is he crying?”.
That’s... That’s something. Maybe I see a little too much? I don’t know. But even if they’re only best buddies now, or really together as boyfriends/husbands, I’m ok with it. I like their dynamics.
And fact that even if Galo IS AN IDIOT, he’s somewhat... How to put it into the words... He have a good instincts. About people emotions too. And is very straightforward, which I like.
So as you can see, what I really like and what actually took a little of my time was “Galo x Lio” thing and their personalities.
But to be honest it’s not enough for me to say that the movie was a masterpiece. I think it would be better if it was a series, not a movie. Or at least two movies, where wo could learn a lot more about burnish. For example Meis and... Gueira (?) had almost no screentime. AND MEIS WAS DUBBED BY MY FAVOURITE SEIYUU, KATSUYUKI KONISHI.
And I really hate’d Lucia’s voice, but I still wanted to see more of “Burning Rescue” team, to learn about them more, I wanted the movie to make me like them.
I also wanted to know more about Galo’s and Lio’s past. Especially Lio’s.
And yeah, it’s good that this movie made me want to know this all, but it’s sad that it left me with this “want”. Like, I’m not satisfied? Yep.
It WAS a good movie to watch with a friend, something to kill the boredom, but I don’t think that I’ll remember this title for long.
I mean, I will listen to the music obviously, but I’m almost 100% sure that I won’t go back to see this movie in the future.
But what if they’ll made anime series from it? Then I’ll gladly watch it. But hey, what are the chances?
So, what more I can say? If you like TTGL and Kill la Kill, Promare will be something that you’ll like, but I can’t say that it’ll change your life.
Great music. Very good two main characters. Easy to follow plot. A little too clichéd villain, weird animation, and most of the side characters are just there (and they have no popcorn).

Feedback of "Princess Tutu's Development and Cultural Perceptions in the West"
I've never known that anime was subculture in the west until I read "Princess Tutu's Development and Cultural Perceptions in the West" written by Marina in 2017. I just thought that Princess Tutu was more popular in the west than in Taiwan because of lots of English discussions on the Internet and the culture of watching ballet and listening to classical music.
I started watching Princess Tutu on the channel Animax Taiwan in 2005 , but not every episode because of schoolwork and tests. In 2007, I found the whole episodes on Youtube and finished watching them (Now I have 4 versions of official DVD/BD on hand). The influence of streaming sites was obvious. People not only watched Princess Tutu, but shared their love by making AMVs on Youtube. I had crazily watched those AMVs for long time, especially the ones expressing the connection between Fakir and Duck.
I remember there's a Princess Tutu community on LiveJournal: https://princesstutu.livejournal.com/. That community is wonderful, so many discussions, metas and sources. But sadly, people leave there because of the rising of Tumblr. Besides, I used to see fan arts on deviantArt. So many talentive fans. It seems that they also move to Tumblr.
I was surprised that Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann(2007) and Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica (2011) helped Princess Tutu gain popularity, especially the former, because of the similar themes. I heard that Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann was popular here. I would love to watch it one day.
Anyway, thanks to Marina's article. It helps me learn the history of anime market and the development of Princess Tutu in the west. It's very interesting and worth to read. * ”Princess Tutu's Development and Cultural Perceptions in the West” is post on a fan book 『プリンセスチュチュ』評論集 Schwanengesang published in 2017. It only has Chinese translation permitted by the author and Manon, the coordinator of the fan book, post online. If you have that fan book, you can find the article on pp.90 - 99.
