So one Gaylor theory that confuses me is her use of the bi flag, not because the theory’s bad, but because whenever Taylor uses what’s possibly the bi flag, it’s upside-down most of the time, like her wig from the “You Need To Calm Down” MV, the opening to the 1989 tour, the line “give me the blues and then purple-pink skies” in “Invisible String”. What do you guys make of these? Bisexuals, is there any kind or symbolism behind a bi flag being upside-down that I as a lesbian wouldn’t know about? The only exception I can think of right now are the Rice Krispies she made. And what do you guys make of the fact that she’s flagged both lesbian and bi colors? Maybe she’s saying she’s one label and her partner’s the other, which ever that is? I don’t know.
Also we sleep on Taylor saying “guys, gals, and nonbinary pals.” It gave me joy.
I’ve come back from the dead to post about this and this only.
OH MY GODS “I CAN SEE YOU” IS SO AAAAAAAAAAAAAA
THE MUSIC VIDEO IS GORGEOUS AND SO AESTHETIC, ON POINT, EVERYTHING, I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
TAYLOR, stuck in a VAULT for 13 YEARS, breaks out with the help of TAYLOR LAUTNER (her boyfriend 13 years ago) and JOEY KING (Mean music video???) and CARRIES SPEAK NOW OUT OF THE DARK, OUT OF THE VAULT WITH HER!!!
I cannot get over the symbolism, the power, the raw emotion, the pride that I can feel right now 😭😭😭
Theories I have on The tortured poets department also posted here so that if I am right about something I can say I called it
Okay let's start from the name
1. Joe Alwyn, Taylor's ex, has a group chat named "tortured man club". So the recall to this makes me guess it's about Joe.
2. In folklore she has a lyrics that says "take me to the lakes where all the poets went to die. I don't belong, and my beloved neither do you". So the poets comes from that.
3. Department because it may be about the process that brought to the break up?
NOW
From these informations (and the fact that she has said she's kept the album secret for two years) we can deduce
1. The album is mostly about Joe and their relationship
2. It's going to reveal some things about the relationship, but in general about long term relationships because
3. She broke up with Joe, allegedly, last year. But if the album has been a secret for two years it's probably safe to assume that they have been having problems for longer.
4. So the album is possibly going to be about trying to make a dying relationship work because you've been together for so long and you love the person you are with.
5. The recall to the song, that is about wanting to be away from the public eye (she got into a relationship with Joe during the whole Kanye reputation thing), makes me think it may be about the rumoured fact of joe not being okay with her public life.
6. So a tortured poet Taylor because she's hiding (where all the poets go to die) and a torture poet Joe because he is more private but he has to be public.
7. If it is about this I am going to cry. I also kind of expect there to be something about what has been happening recently with the NFL fans and the negative attention from it
ALSO
I think this album is either 1. Going to reveal a lot more than expected or 2. Going to take a different musical direction
BECAUSE
Not only is the style of the album cover very different from things she has done before, but her album always had one word titles, so the multiple words may be an hint she's going to reveal more? About the relations or her feelings?
Wait wait wait wait....... So she put the one in caps in the announcement, and then in the promo photo she's pointing to the moon, and ice spice is pointing to saturn.......... What is happening with folklore?!?!?!
When she released If This Was A Movie (Taylor's Version) she essentially moved it to Fearless (Taylor's Version). Which was confusing at first. I saw a few people say maybe she did that so Speak Now (Taylor's Version) could be completely self written when it's released because itwam has cowriters. That makes sense to me.
Last night at the first Eras Tour show she only played one song from Speak Now, Enchanted. Obviously I don't know how true this is but I've heard people say that Enchanted was what she originally wanted to call Speak Now. So what if that was a hint at the fact that she's going to call it Enchanted instead of Speak Now (Taylor's Version) when she rereleases the body of work.
Okay obviously this is an Olympic sized leap but I needed to say it because it's been running around in my mind.
I've also been thinking about the self titled rerecording because she only performed Tim McGraw, which was her first song from that album. Which makes me think she'll release that last (which I've always thought she was going to do).
back on my taylor swift bullshit because my hyperfixation wont die no matter what i do and basically i think she'll be announcing 1989 on night 2 of Chicago. she had forecasted rain over Tennessee and Chicago in the lavender haze music video, Tennessee night 1 and Chicago night 2 are 13 shows apart. miles tellers wife post a photo of herself with taylor while shes holding a slice of pizza, in the stephen colbert interview in 2021 she mentions a pizza restaurant in Chicago that she really likes AND it's karlie Kloss's home state. you're honour, I'm clowning so hard but i think I'm correct. I'm willing to die on this hill
I was a hardcore denier that we were getting 1989 soon despite being an intense 1989 girly. I really was thinking Taylor would give speak now tv it’s time to shine and that she was only dropping small Easter eggs because she loves watching us try to decode. However…. The 1989 tv Easter eggs have been EVERYWHERE this weekend at MetLife, not to mention all the Easter eggs in her captions lately. Idk, if I have a single bad day in the upcoming week you WILL see me become a 1989 tv truther.
