Choose a fandom: Beyblade

The first character I first fell in love with:

I will be dangerously basic in this, but Kai funky-ass Hiwatari was the first character I seriously fell in love with, followed by Ray I-yawn-in-your-face Kon. When Kai appeared on screen (I used to see Beyblade on videocassettes on a small TV in my room, what epic times people) and OF COURSE, me being me I immediately noticed the asshole of assholes and SBAM, right in the face with his sacriscent sarcasm (the Italian voice actor is FINE). Little I knew that I would actually become Kai Hiwatari in the years to come. I was not in love with him (I'm still though), I WAS him (and I'm still, but intensified).

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: 

Basic number 2, Yuriy Ivanov/Tala Valkov and his dramatic entrance.

I found out about the last parte of the first season late in life (I was about 10/12) and had no idea about the Russians or the finale.

When he popped up I was caught unguarded because I already had my favourite (Kai the drama queen) and never, NEVER happens that I like at the same level two characters of the same world (movies, TV series, books ecc.) and STILL...

The power of Tala, just that.

(I'm similar to him too, no jocking, when I was a child I thought I was like Tyson... yeah, of course, one hour of that chaotic energy and I'm done).

I mean, you obsess over Tala or you don't, but if you don't then TELL ME HOW IT'S LIKE OVER THER 'cause

I. COULD. NEVER.

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: 

As much as the Harry Potter world, I don't dislike a single Beyblade's character.

If I have to pick one, maybe... Boris Valkov? I enjoy a good, well written villain.

The character I love that everyone else hates: 

Same as before.

The character I used to love but don’t any longer:

No one, if I love something it means I'm obsessed over it (not in the style of Joe in "You", just saying).

I love Ray a little less than I did before I knew about Tala, but he's always been a step behind Kai from the beginning, and still is a great, great character to me.

I feel like the way he's drown in the first season is absolutely gorgeous.

I think his personality is one of the most balanced and sane of all Beyblade.

And yes, I see many things in common between me and him too.

The character I would totally smooch: 

Kai Hiwatari, Tala Valkov, Ray Kon, maybe Ozuma... and still none of them, especially the first three like THEY ARE extensions of MYSELF it would feel strange.. heavenly probably, but strange.

They are there to be admired and preserved, not to be touched, okay?!

The character I’d want to be like: 

I'm already like Kai, Tala, Ray, sometimes Tyson (in a party, those few times I show up and for 5 minutes straight), Mariah, Ming Ming, Mariam, some metaphorical aspects of Brooklyn... I don't need others what is left of my mental sanity thank you warmly.

The character I’d slap: 

Garland.

Moving on.

A pairing that I love:

KaixTala is my SUPREME OTP, like give me them and nobody will get hurt.

TalaxJulia (differences in appearance, culture, way of thinking but with a common ground in strength, independence, bravery, discipline, hard work, stubbornness).

I also enjoy TalaxBryan (past, complicity, traumas, leadership, loyalty)

First of all, thank you for my first ever ask 😭.

A - Your current OTP(s)/OT3(s)/OTX(s) I don’t think I have any super strong OTPs, but I tend to gravitate towards to Tala/YuriyxKai. Definitely not opposed to a Tala/YuriyxBoris, either. Overall, I’m not really picky, and there’s not really one be all end all ship for me.

....I will also ship PPB Michael with almost anyone. C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will (be nice) Yuriy/TalaxJulia  I love Yuriy.  I love Julia. Them together just is off to me...I don’t know what it is, either. Something about them though just does not vibe for me, though.

 I’ve actually been kind of bummed about this because there has been a lot of content floating around for them recently, and I feel like I am missing out, but something about it just isn’t my jam 😟. All y’all do you, though! Q - A ship you’ve abandoned and why I used to be really into TyKa, probably because it’s the first ship I ever encountered (before I even knew what ships were), but I really just love them both so much as a Bromance, and just tend to pair them more with other people now. 

If anyone ships them, though, go for it. Do your thang. R - A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships One of my favourite fics had a cheeky l’il side Tala/YuriyxPPBMichael. It was done really well, both them left fairly in character (especially for how I characterized both them at the time, and within the conditions of the AU), and I’ve thought about it for years now.

X - top 5-10 characters who are yoUR PRECIOUS BABIES AND YOU WILL DIE DEFENDING THEM In no particular order: 

1. Eddy - Boy didn’t even get the Steve treatment in G-Rev. At least Steve got taken out of the season entirely. We just get a sad little Eddy in G-Rev, with a weird design, and who could really contribute a lot to the team in terms of cool confidence vs the over the top cockiness of his teammates. 2. Tala/Yuriy - On top of the fact that he’s had a wild ride of life, I like how how he can be so versatile. Want him to be serious, soft spoken, but sharp? Got it. Want him to be a chaotic force to be reckoned with? Got it. A mix between all of them above? Go ahead. I also just love how he grows into a more self assured and sassy dude...and how he doesn’t take any of Kai’s ish....or, tries not to, rather.

...And he’s super cute.

3.Max - I feel bad that he used to (less so now!) get reduced to some kid on a sugar high when he is one of the better fleshed out characters (in my opinion). I think a lot of this was due to the fandom skewing quite young in the beginning (as was I), and now that, you know, we’re all a bit older and wiser, there’s been a bit more fleshing out for most the characters in the series, Max included :).  

4.Mao/Mariah - I like a girl who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go for it. She’s very multi-dimensional, and I like how she is both a badass blader, but also can take a step back and take on a more supportive role as well. Wish could have battled more in G-Rev, though.

5.PPB Michael - He’s just fun....That’s all I got. I think he seems like a cool guy underneath the over confident exterior.

....So many others though....so....many....others....Emily comes to mind, but I’ve already written a lot about her, so I’ll save it 😅

So...dear people of tumblr, how’re you? Fine, I hope. Before a few days, I posted a teaser of “Thimeethi: Walk of faith”. Though it looked like a typical medieval AU, I warn: It isn’t any AU. It’s directly related to cannon, or say: It’s a pre-cannon. Remember Kingdom? TWOF will be much short in length in comparison to Kingdom but I am afraid that the intensity, angst and the thrills of the new story will be much more. 

So what changes? 

1) Plotline: 

Kingdom was inspired from some mythological and historical incidents/fictions of medieval/ancient India. But Thimeethi, despite having medieval backdrop, is purely inspired from the true events of modern times, say, true events of Football, my favorite sports and some of my views, ideologies and thoughts in this regard. Although the finishing/ending of the story will be my own plot (How do you want it to be? Happy fairytale or tragic? :P) 

2) Characters and pairings: A lot of changes will be awaiting. 

Kane: Got it, you’re gonna snatch Salima from me again? 

Misty: No, Kane-kun, not this time. No worries, Misty will do full justice with you in this fic. Not only you will be paired with Salima, but also you’ll get such an important role that people will bow down their heads in your respect. 

Kane: T_T 

Ray: Hey! What about me? Don’t say that you’re going to make me a villain. 

Misty: Duh, you’ll be Kai’s best friend in this fic, how will you be a villain? But hehehe...a certain character will be antagonized in this fic for sure...the character whom you may never have imagined to be villainous. *Smirks* 

3) Causes and outcomes: 

All the incidents shown in this fic will be somehow related to the incidents of Beyblade original series, or say, the happenings in the original series will be kinda the outcomes of this fic-in such a way, I’ll write it. Like: Why cannot Kai help changing teams in the original series? Why is Tyson left alone in G-rev? Why couldn’t Kai never be the champion or never win a finale? Like Kingdom, this fic will give you a number of reasons, again. Curses, boons, faiths and much more!

Who is on top? Mostly Tala, but Julia isn’t the hesitate or insecure type and is definitely thrilled to show him that.

How often do they bake desserts? I don’t think any of them has a sweet tooth, but Julia always make sure to bake some cake in case her friends come over, or she’s invited someone.

Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? Tala’s a meat lover, but Julia is actually in the middle. Not too fond of, but not disliking them wholeheartedly either.

Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? Both.

🤡 What's a line, scene, or exchange you've written that made you laugh?

-If you know my writing you know there's SO MANY LMAO. My current favourite is the scene in tattoos when Kai is moving out of his apartment and Tyson’s helping him. And Tyson tells him the cactus his ex girlfriend gave him is fake. And Kai just THROWS IT OUT THE WINDOW.

When I first made up that scene I told my partner and he laughed so hard. Now I make jokes in my car about throwing stuff out the window all the time. Lmao. 😅

😈 Has there been a point in a story where you did something just to be playfully mean to your readers?

-hmmm nothing comes immediately to mind… but I guess I brutally kill off Ryu all the time? OH WAIT WAIT WAIT!!! it's the Easter egg in tattoos that NO BODY CAUGHT. 😡 it's hard to catch unless you're binge reading the chapters I think. But it's the reason why Hiro fired Tyson etc. I didn't have enough time in the plot to fit it into an arc. But I thought it was obvious, yet no one caught on 😅 so I guess I'll take it to my grave? LMAO 

🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?

-hmmm this one's tough!! I have a lot that I would say are pretty intense! The end of tattoos is definitely a wild ride! But my dark AU is also super edgy and dark! I'd say wildest ride ;) would have to be the talaxjulia smut ficlet and the blindfold tyka ficlet. In terms of intense story id say its a hard tie between Tattoos/ Dark AU/ and the BEGA arc where Tyson joins Bega.

🎶 Do you listen to music while you write? What song have you been playing on loop lately?

-ooohhh so I always listen to music when I write, but I can't listen to music with lyrics because it's too distracting and messes with my word choices! I usually turn on a Playlist that matches the scene I'm writing! So if it's a magical scene I'll do an adventure Playlist, a happy scene, a chillstep Playlist, a battle scene I'll do an epic orchestral Playlist… you get it! But I tend to get inspiration from songs when I listen to them when I'm not writing! I make up scenes in my head! And that's how a lot of scenes I make are made! So… an example… would be…

💖 What made you start writing?

-I have always done little bits of writing. Only because I make such intricate plots in my head and they need to come to life somehow! Art and comics are fun, but to TRULY express my storytelling, I need words. Very specific words. So over many years I've practiced the craft so that I can tell my stories *just right*. The truth is, I always say I'm not a very strong writer, I'm a strong storyteller. 

💔 Is there a fic of yours that broke your heart?

-aw this is a tough one! I'd have to say the Dark AU. I mean I put Kai through hell and back in that fic LOL. But on a personal note, I never planned to upload it! I wrote it during a really tough time in my life. At around the same time I was writing 'It's a bit of a long story' I came up with the alternate story of 'Dark AU' (I couldn't think of a better name LOL). I created 'it's a bit of a long story' after I drew a comic and realized I needed to get this story on paper. I never planned to upload it. But after I had a few friends read it they told me I HAD to. So I made an archive account. I still wasn't active in Fandom at that point. After I did that, I started to spiral. And although I created 'long story' as a distraction, I then created Dark AU as a therapeutic way of venting. So re reading it I find the plot SUPERB. But when I look into it more deeply, I realize just how much I've knitted in characters and scenes to suit myself. Which was never intentional. I actually had a session with an old therapist where we psychoanalyzed some parts of it 🤣 it was really interesting and eye opening for sure!
