Friendly reminder that Loki is an agent of chaos and the TVA is the antithesis of everything that he stands for as a character. Making him a simp for these fascists is the most insulting thing the MCU could have possibly done to this character

What is wrong with you Marvel Studios!?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, the TVA is just full stop Nazis at this point. Not even being subtle about it? They are Nazi. We have passed the point where the TVA have done more actions that the nazi have done then the MCU's version of Hydra. Don't come at me saying the TVA is meant to bad and you're not meant to like them because if that's the case what is all this?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This isn't just making a figurine for kids to play with or collectors to put on their shelves. This is selling people the means to play dress up as the incredible Nazi-coded characters. Does No one see the problem with this?
I know Hasbro sells Cobra and Decepticon merchandise but along with it they still sell GI joe and Autobot Merch. What's being sold with all this TVA merchandise? Maybe a few scant pieces of Sylvie stuff but also Loki dress up in the TVA aesthetic. All they have to sell to the audience is the fascists.
Did we all forget about this?
The promotion for Secret Empire was controversial, deservedly so but now several years later Marvel does the exact same thing and the reaction people have is, Loki getting what deserves and Mobius is so charming.
It doesn't seem like the TVA are going away. If rumors are to believed they're going to be in Deadpool 3 and if it doesn't contain Wade slicing these monsters to sherds that franchise can go crash and burn as well.Marvel please just stop

It's funny how people accused Loki of being a fascist/genocidal maniac/evil autocrat back in 2012, even though there were clear indications of him being under the influence of the mind stone + Thanos' torture and indoctrination + going through a phase of severe mental breakdown (in Thor 1).
And now people are embracing the fact that (not)Loki* is becoming a loyal dog of the TVA--a fascist, genocidal organisation which kills whole universes in one go without so much as blinking, puts people in gas chambers to alter their minds, tortures people into submission (which Mobius actually did to (not)Loki), only because one person (Kang) decided that one timeline was sacred and the rest expendable.
I can't imagine the mental gymnastics being utilised here.
Tumblr media
* I'm using (not)Loki because whatever this character is, he's certainly not the Loki of 2011-2013.

Using The Dark World to illustrate my issue with "taking away" Loki's traditional costuming...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have already alluded to the fact that I am not 100% on board with the Loki series. I am probably not as much of a hater as some because yes I have watched the entire thing and it was...just fine. It is NOT the same character though, I can never shake the feeling that this just isn't "my" Loki so even though I enjoyed elements of it, overall it was a disappointing experience and I don't think I'll ever make peace with it. You know what one of my problems is? The main TVA costume. I have heard ALL the excuses as to why putting Loki in boring dirty human clothes was needed to show character development or whatever but sorry, I refuse to accept. Because what we deemed Loki's "prison pyjamas" back in 2013 already achieved the aim of stripping him of the gilded trappings of royalty and then Loki himself LITERALLY tore layers off himself in his grief over Frigga's death. The prison costume still honoured his Asgardian status and his prior characterisation while being basic. It removed any decorative elements and was put together more for the fact he'd be wearing it a long time than to show off that he's a prince, it removed anything that was for ceremonial purposes. Yes I know he immediately puts his old (and a variation of his very best) costume back on during the prison break scene but I just wanted to say that you can show Loki as a broken version of himself, as a character who needs to reassess his position in the world, without putting him in a ratty old shirt that looks like something my mum bought for me from Marks and Spencers when I was a schoolgirl. I was so STARVED of Loki actually looking like Loki that I quite liked his ascension/"hero" look in the series finale. I mean, the lighting is still shitty so the deep forest green of the behind the scenes photos comes out a wishy-washy browny-green, and I didn't even realise there were gold beading details until I saw those photos. But at least it resembled something that was closer to what Actual Loki would wear (even though it's not really the same character.)
The annoying thing is there is CONCEPT ART with Loki wearing clothing that adheres more to his in-character look. I will never understand. They had an insane budget, so you can't even say the Asgardian leather and gold was too expensive!

i feel like the possibility of mobius and b-15 BURNING IT DOWN!!!! died completely the moment someone realised that the one obviously marketable thing about the loki series was the tva :|

Loki may have become a ‘better person’ but he literally had the living HELL beat out of him in order to do so. I don’t want to see a character tortured into SUBMISSION by his kidnappers and HUMILIATED in order for him to be redeemed let alone constantly ABUSED throughout the process of ‘growing!’ Thor didn’t get abused, tortured, belittled and humiliated during his ‘redemption arc’ so why does Loki?! 😢💔

me watching my favorite stand alone series get consumed by a dying franchise in an attempt to revive it (they believe it's going to draw in new viewers when im reality it's just going to deter fans):

The loki series is fascinating to me in that it says so much more about the writers than it ever could about loki himself

Just watched the trailer for Deadpool 3 and seriously, why couldn’t they have waited until this movie to introduce the TVA??? It would’ve made a lot more sense than having them in a show about Loki, who I’m pretty sure never even interacted with them in the comics. Crazy idea, I know, but maybe the Loki series should’ve actually been about… you know… LOKI???

Hey, you know ending loki season 2. I have to say the ending definitely tragic and poetic same ike in myth and mcu loki symbol (sacrifice), I actually kind okey with loki be tree that hold multiverse because well he is a god and gods have job and purpose they existence
But my main problem is that how he end up there, I meant they just giving loki pain and more trauma and make it worst so called friends and lover are hypocrite jerk that not nice to him, so it's so bitter for me loki sacrifice himself again for ungrateful jeak like his Asgard family. This ending is not masterpiece. epic? Maybe but masterpiece? No, it's sad very bitter ending I ever see
It will be bitter sweet if loki actually heal his pains and getting actually nice and kind peoples as his friends but no mcu just decided to make loki get more trauma and pains
And more pain is that the fact no one in main timeline knowing what he sacrifice, only the one inside tva know and probably some entities that can see 'everything ' that knowing what loki sacrifice. I bet mcu will make some characters saying that loki is selfish narcissistic for take throne of time 🙄
I hate that Loki's sacrifice is for these people, these horrid awful cruel people.
I can't get over the fact that these people spent hundreds of years being time fascists with not a second thought are treated as good, likable and nothing is there fault. Sure the tore people from their homes heard their screams and cries, but godboss told them to so that means it's ok. I mean sure they turn the second they learn they were being hurt which means they always had the mental capacity to think for themselves they choose not to, for hundreds of years.
Yes, that pisses be off Loki is made to suffer and constantly has his mistakes thrown in his face. Loki has to die and time fascists get to retire to Argentina or they can keep being time fascists. It takes away any good feeling I could have when I see the TVA still exciting. They separated Loki from his family, they killed his family and Loki sacrifices himself for them and it is never once acknowledged that their "ends justify the means" was wrong, was cruel and if they thought of other people first so many lives would have been spared.

Why is TVA arresting people if they delete the entire timeline they are in anyway? They could just leave them there and delete the timeline with the person who created nexus event in it

Abuse in the Loki Show
* Physical and sexual abuse: The main male character was stripped without his consent after being violently subdued, kidnapped and imprisoned. He got bent over a table by a physically stronger female character (B-15) making it look like he was about to be sexually assaulted. He was repeatedly kicked whilst already down, thrown around into things, knocked around and strangled by a much larger and stronger male. There was also a scene where a female character stood over his unconscious body looking like she was going to take advantage of him (Sylvie) who also bit, kneed and elbowed him causing him to clutch himself in pain. He was repeatedly hit, punched and kicked in the balls by another female character (Sif) and lastly he was kissed without giving consent (Sylvie). Another male character (Mobius) was pushed violently onto the ground by his female ‘superior’ (Ravonna.) There was also blatant violence against women such as B-15 punching Sylvie into the ground making her clutch herself and gasp in extreme pain. In the second season, Sylvie blasts the main male character into the ground quite brutally in the third episode. She also brutally hits another female character (Ravonna) in the stomach and kicks her through a time door in the same episode. Sylvie physically assaults the main male character in the final episode of season 2, two of the main male characters exploit a female character Sylvie in the final episode of season 2.
* Bullying, mental and psychological abuse: The main male character (Loki) is shown traumatising footage of events that happened in his life while his captor (Mobius) tells him how bad he is and brings up MORE abusive events and tells him how unimportant he is.
* He was put into a ‘torture time loop’ by his captor (Mobius) where he repeatedly got physically and verbally abused (kicking in the balls, hitting, punching and bullying about ‘deserving to be alone’) by not ‘staying in line’ by the organisation. A female character (Sylvie) leads on the main male character and manipulates him, sexually abuses him, blames and bullies him for all the issues that SHE created and stops him from trying to do the right thing!
* Nazi Symbolism:
- Stripped prisoners without consent.
- Force them to work for you or kill and torture them. Some of the torture methods include being ‘subdued’ and ‘gassed’ inside of a cube.
- Subdue, abuse, restrain, strip and beat them into submission in order to brainwash them, erase their memories and give them ‘Stockholm syndrome’ and ‘befriend’ their abusers (Mobius, B-15)

Ok, I love reading your asks and your replied to them (never thought of Sylki Darkfic before but you are so right, selflessly possessive Loki being low-key creepy would be fitting). So I want to hear your two cents about this:
Sylvie has no reason to learn how to trust or suddenly be able to trust in S2. As you said, Loki doesn't give her a reason to trust him, it's almost like he just nags her till she gives up. The TVA are still pruning the Timelines (Dox) and they are still indifferent to the Timelines being pruned (Mobius). Sylvie could have seen the chance of the TVA agents redeeming if she had any interactions with B-15, but she doesn't. After trying to hope for the best, they failed at accomplishing whatever they dragged her from her life on the Timeline for.
So, does Sylvie get any development at all, or is she there to be the hysterical anti-cop mouthpiece as the other anon said?
okay first of all my disclaimer on this one is that while i have indeed come to appreciate the male sylvie loki as a character i did first get dragged in by sylvie so i tend to take her side on things because she is the superior blorbo.
(i put this behind a read-more thingy cos it got a bit long)
my feels on sylvie this season are that she's been demoted from 'her quest for revenge is the main driver of the plot' to 'isn't it awful that she makes the man upset by understandably-yet- foolishly disagreeing with him?' she's not had a pivotal moment with B-15 because sylvie in s2 is (so far) primarily there to make loki feel sad. she had that lovely end-credits bit of discovering the McDonalds Burgermatic Universe but then we didn't see that after all, we just skipped to her working on a till apparently established in her new life. there's two episodes left so this could all change but the first half has not been that great on the sylvie front :'(
even the fact that (someone correct me if i'm wrong pls as it is very possible) loki shows up at mcdonalds mostly because he saw her in a lift in the previous episode and assumes this means she will know about... her own future? somehow? or possibly because he knows she's one of the main characters and so she needs to be brought into this new plotline. or for emotional reasons but he obviously can't so much as hint at that to her in case they resolve their relationship issues too early. (how can sylvie expect him to tell her the truth about these things? it was only the second episode and that's far too early! what a daft bint she is!)
people get mad at sylvie for not being nice enough to loki but she's got a normal-seeming life now that she appears to enjoy, and him turning up (in a TVA uniform with his cop buddy AND THEIR PRISONER) demanding answers she doesn't have and telling her to just accept that The Cops Are Good Now Actually, Apart From All The Ones Who Aren't so like... why would she go out of her way to be polite and helpful about keeping the TVA running?
i don't think she's intended to seem like a hysterical rebel, but we're not being shown things from her perspective as much as before and we assume (we could be wrong about this but we do assume) that as the main character loki is going to turn out to be right about most of these things and we don't really get a balanced set of arguments, which seems to be partly because we need to hold off on these characters actually discussing anything so that we can ensure that loki stays sad about her until such time as he can be rewarded for his work on the time loom by the lifting of that sadness (or whatever).
there's still two episodes left though, which is enough time to turn this around a bit, perhaps by showing us a bit of sylvie's new life or by having some proper discussions/arguments about whatever the fuck the TVA are supposed to be doing now. so my feelings are currently mixed. could turn out fine, could end up crap. OH THE TENSION D: D: D:
