Goddamn is there a lot of emotion up in your squad (not shitting on it just pointing it out) but for the most part it seems to be going well for you. First impression

okay so back when I was watching Prime, funnily enough, I found a TFA Sh*ckblurr fanfic and read it, but I had no idea who tf Blurr was so technically my first impression was that he was some oc/self insert.

But I doubt that’s the answer u want so I will say right off the bat I loved him and hated it because I very much knew he would die. I also was hardcore into the idea of Bee falling in love with this fucking,,, blue car the first time it saved him not knowing it was a person because that’d be fucking hilarious.

I love him so fucking much he is an absolute fave of mine. I love how strict n angry he is when Bee fucking disrespects him and I feel like he would look him in the eye and call him a dumb fucking bottom.

he’s probably one of the only sensible bots in the elite guard and I love that he’s smart and also talks so fucking weird at the same time. The fucking way that he says “Which while technically accurate lacks a certain creativity.” And the noise he makes when Shockwave attacks him ugh I Want to Marry Him.

Favorite moment

WHEN HE RAN ACROSS THE GALAXY TO GET TO CYBERTRON? I FELL IN L O VE. Seeing that scene unironically makes me Simp hard for Blurr. seeing his drive and determination and How fucking Cool he is. Idea for a story

KINDA ENEMIES TO LOVERS BLURRBEE FANFIC WHEN? Okay I love the fluff there is of these two but the idea of an au where Blurr stays with the crew sounds amazing because I think Bee would absolutely Hate it. How Dare Blurr be a faster twink than he is Bee is constantly back talking Blurr n being rude n sassy to him while Blurr is getting tired of this short ass twink He is trying to do important Elite Guard stuff and does Not need this sass!

But eventually, Blurr does smth kickass and Bee is like ‘oh no I’m in love’ But now that he has,,, been being an ass to Blurr for so long he had no idea how to deal with this change in events, and when he starts being more of his usual self and being nice to Blurr, Blurr is like ‘oh no I’m in love’ but still thinks Bee does not like him that much so he doesn’t know how to deal with this change in events.

Unpopular opinion

I Will never understand why 80% of the fandom portrays him they way they do. Blurr may not be super graceful or talk in a normal way but he is pretty fucking clever, he was the one who figured out how to get out of mixmaster’s concrete.

To me he is a strict but caring mech who really does want to do the best for Cybertron and will stop at nothing to do it. He ran across the galaxy for the people he wants to protect and fought till the end he is anything but nervous baby UwU. And no amount of that weird-ass brainwashing or manipulating Shockwave does in any of those fanfics would stop him.

When Longarm attacked him out of nowhere Blurr made a point of not freezing up, he may have freaked out who wouldn’t but he didn’t let himself get caught even in the midst of figuring out what was going on. This mech knows what he’s doing.

Also, Sh*ckblurr makes no sense to me,,, unless Shockwave renounced being a con or proved he didn’t want to hurt people and wasn’t a threat to Cybertron I’m pretty sure Blurr would obliterate him instantly given the chance.

He can be kind of an ass too and like, that’s okay ur faves can,,, not always be super nice soft boys I like Blurr being a bit of an ass. That’s just a fun character flaw y’all.

Favorite relationship

Him and Bee’s bickering was really cute and funny to see and the thing in the manga where they take down Lugnut and Blitzwing is amazing I cannot express how cute it is to see them merrily whistling away <3

Wish we had seen more of it but oh well... It gives me all the fuel I need to think about them on a daily basis so really where’s the loss?

Favorite headcanon

Blurr’s handwriting is fucking chicken scratch, Longarm and Cliff have just resorted to forcing him to let other people write out his reports for him even though Blurr insists he can read it just fine...

Also he was a cadet around the same time Longarm Bee Wasp n Ironhide were and he was an absolute show off, so the other cadets all hated him. Bc of that for a while he was just an errand bot in the Elite guard mostly delivering stuff from place to place which humbled him and mellowed him out a bit to be the Intel Agent we know now, and now he is super embarrassed by his younger self’s behavior. <3

How To Be Kind To Yourself (a personal self-guide for when i'm feeling low)

Wash your face. Use a towel and scrub gently with soap and water. Feel how much more refreshed you are now.

Drink water. Stay hydrated.

If you feel hungry, eat. If you didnt eat all day and dont feel hungry, eat anyways. Your body needs fuel.

Take a shower and put on fresh clothes. You'll feel a lot more comfortable in your own skin especially if you put on ur lazy clothes.

Wash your binder, schedule a haircut, splurge on a new dress shirt or two. It will help the dysphoria and make you feel confident.

👏Take👏off👏the👏binder. Your chest and back will thank you.

Check up on your plants. Water them, rearrange them, even just looking at them and whispering nice things will help you both grow.

Change your bedsheets. Warm laundry is best laundry to lay in.

Read an old book. Watch an old movie. Rewatch a few episodes of an old show. Now share it with someone.

Clean one thing. Take the dishes from your room. Wipe the counters in the kitchen. Dust the living room. You might get motivation to do another thing. Worth a try.

Draw. Write. Journal. Sing a song. Do something creative.

Hang out with your pets. Go for a walk. Brush their fur, lay in bed with them, sun bathe with them. Even just being in the same room after your take care of them will immensely help both your moods.

Text your friends. Call them. Meet up. Or just send them funny memes. Or ask the one friend who knows a lot of memes to send you memes. You know they always got you covered.

Try to stay away from social media and YouTube. You'll get sucked in and regret having wasted a lot of your day just scrolling and feeling like poop.

Sing in the shower. Sing while you clean. Putting on a playlist of happy songs while doing anything will lift your mood. I promise.

Fall asleep to your favorite album/playlist. It's a comfort thing I used to do. I remember hearing the cd slow to a stop as the album finished and the room is dark and quiet. Having that end to the songs is important tho. Try it tonight.

Hug your pillow. Hug your pet. Hug a loved one if you feel comfortable enough. Just squeeze something to let go of that tension you feel.

These people often need balance to live, and often compensating too extremely into something (like work, or lifestyle) causes them to feel dread/stagnant in themselves.

They need a life outside of things, y know? That’s part of the Taurus ‘happy with the little things’ motive/ideas. They want to have a life just outside, able to manifest/take control over their own security and comfort.

These people don’t do well with others pushing them to change their ways OR mind, they’re often too resilient and tenacious in their own ways to change.

Unless they made up their mind for themselves (which they’re often pretty cautious and slow in doing so– because they hate upsetting a routine more than anything) – no one could make them budge.

Considering his Aries Mars as well— retaliation to his self-protection, or attacks on others in his field of visions would drive him into action to ‘stop it’ immediately (physically or just, emotionally invested in other’s well being. Protective and sensual Taurus)

Food takes priority for Tauresean. But so does artistic expression, often these people have magnetic voices or musical abilities (Taurus rules the throat traditionally) having that in his ego and emotional gratification— both of these things hold an importance to him on a personal level.

Having the ability to express it out is always part of who he is– regardless of entertainment industry or nah.

The thing about Taurus is that they are inherently hard-working and tenacious, often expects hardship and to face it with stead-fast-nature that they have. This is because they desire results, or the ‘good burn’ of working that comes from being treated fairly/justly.

When the ego/self is in Taurus (Sun) that means that the material result/wealth (money/statues) is also important to an extent. Their self-identity comes with that, and often builds up based on their self-sufficiency, their independence away from others and what they can ‘make’ for themselves.

Their own ‘comfort’ is their driving force, being able to live the way they want to, comfortably balanced between working autonomously and having a life besides of working/grinding for themselves. Thus– you can kinda see why his mental health is much more important than money. It comes with comfort that Taurus thrives/seek. And it takes a lot to break a Taurus’s routine, honestly.

A note on aspect: he has his Sun-Neptune aspecting which – again– talks about his ego being tied to his musicality and expression. Honestly you can find a lot of artists with this placements, especially in personal planets and a tight conjunction.

With Taehyun it’s trine– so in a way, he’s always had this intuition for his career/musical opportunity for him at the front of his mind. Considering his Neptune in Capricorn, he dreams about making it big (which he did) but within that– he also desire to have balance/personal popularity that Taurus sun brings in as well. Wants to be respected for his musicality, and often times admired for his hard-working spirit/charm.

One of the biggest factor is his Moon opposition Jupiter– since we talked about Taurus I feel like that’s a good base to talk about this too right?

When his emotionality is in opposition to Jupiter’s social popularity, often time he’s emotionally at odds with the darker side of fame, of obsession.

Scorpio Jupiter brings a deeper search, especially sacrifices made and having an unorthodox view/belief/ideas as opposed to the norm. It can make the person’s emotionality uncomfortable having to be ‘tugged/forced’ on the leash of Scorpio Jupiter to ‘be’ a certain way, ‘act’ a certain way, ‘charm’ a certain way.

Scorpio Jupiter in opposition to the Moon can bring someone who slowly but eventually– emotionally distance themselves from obligations/things they have to do. The social/public obsession drains the Taurus emotionality, often times demanding more and more paranoia over the Taurus Moon until they can’t help but just be– numb to it all

It’s kinda like going ‘hey this is me :)’ and then someone going ‘ok but they said ‘hey’ so that obviously means SOMETHING’ and you explain yourself over and over until you’re just left….exhausted… because you just said what you said you know?

Moon-Jupiter as an aspect can also speak about over-indulgence in comfort as well, things and obsession over something else that they could ‘escape’ from the public/tension with. Especially combined with Sun-Pluto that can often live in fear of change, of feeling uneasy and that their life goes through so many tumultuous change (also in Scorpio).

The Taurus native with these aspects to Jupiter and Pluto may often find themselves more and more ‘complacent’ in their luxury, their comfort and become more ‘lazy’ over time.

Not to say that he’s lazy, just that when ones get drained over and over again you lose motivation to ‘pursue/push’ and do something about it.

Taehyun with his Moon sextile to Saturn– is quite capable of keeping his feelings on hold/in control until he can’t anymore. And that’s when he breaks.

Alot of his passion/drive has to do with his Gemini placements– Mercury and Venus. A lot of varieties and interest, often a healthy stimuli and uplifting spirit. These people are animated talker, jokester, can be a lil unconventional with how controversial they are- yet at the same time, they endear people to them because of their inherent honesty and forth-right nature.

Mercury-Uranus (trine) Supports his Sun-Neptune from earlier– with this marks a great singer/song-writer, since Gemini is domicile in Mercury (and Taurus is exalted in Moon) – Taehyun has a lot of romanticism and creative splurges, able to think and create visionary ideas and crafts.

Often a person who ties dreaminess of the imagination to the commonality of the world in a way that lets people ‘escape’ their life for a moment. It fuels him personally, and often can lead to someone being well-spoken, well-read but also inherently a lil scattered at the same time (a fool)

Think about Gemini and consider that they are all sharp edges, fraught and cutting. They can sometimes cuts too deep into others and thus, ‘breaks down’ any stability that they’ve built because of it as well. how do you get to be a more prolific writer/poet? i have depression and i can't motivate myself to write. also, i can't get enough of ur writing. it makes me sad to see something so beautiful.

hi, i’m sorry for the delay in my response. i wanted to wait until i had the time, and until i was in the right frame of mind to answer. i struggle from depression as well, unfortunately i know first-hand how it can basically drive a wedge between all the things you would like to say or do, and the effort it takes to see them through. i certainly haven’t been meeting my own daily writing quotas lately, but sometimes those are anxiety-inducing rather than inspiration-fueling. i have days where i can’t spit out a word, much less a sentence. days where no matter how much i adore a hobby, i feel something akin to a body filled with nothing but air or drained of blood, and i’m suddenly incapable of it. as creative people, we all have good & bad days, but when you’re depressed, it can feel much worse. your mind tricks you into thinking you’re useless, untalented or just downright lazy. i often feel this way. mental illness is terribly draining and paralyzing, we retaliate by pressuring ourselves, like when the tire of your car gets stuck in mud and you keep slamming down on the accelerator, but all it does is stick itself further. i think my advice would be just to be patient with yourself, and see where that takes you. not feeling upto it? go watch a movie or meet up with a friend and try again later. got stuck in the middle? take a break! have a coffee or cup of tea and clear your head. output does not equal talent. some days you might write six poems in a row, and then you might go a week without writing. if you are struggling to find inspiration: read, read, read, listen to some new music, go for a walk at night or spend some time observing the outside world [btw, there are also tons of websites for inspiration out there, not to mention blogs like @writing-prompt-s for when you’re feeling like you don’t know what to write]. i also recommend picking up a dictionary and learning 10 new words everyday, maybe you’ll feel the inclination to use your favorites! but never force yourself. try to remove the word ‘motivate’ from your dictionary. i personally find it to be vague and counterproductive. oftentimes, we wilt away in hours spent awaiting that brilliant eureka moment that never really comes. i don’t write when i’m motivated, sometimes something just sparks and i’m typing away without even realizing it. when i do tell myself i’m going to try and be motivated, i usually fail. ultimately, attempt to settle for what feels natural to you, and i hope you’re getting the help that you need. also, know you’re not alone in feeling this way. thank you!

FANGORIA MAGAZINE Has been Resurrected!

It has been over a year now since The Brooklyn Company magazine, Fangoria, closed their doors. The lead editors were on leave, the ownership of the company was in uncertainty, and the physical magazine itself was no longer being printed. Seems the curtains were closing for good on the popular horror magazine and its 39-year run. But, all that changed yesterday when news dropped that Cinestate has now obtained sole ownership over Fangoria and its brand, ensuring that the magazine will return to print and more!

Texas-Based Entertainment Company Cinestate has finished a deal securing all rights to Fangoria and its trademarks. Dallas Sonnier, CEO of Cinestate (and best known for producing the recent Brawl in Cell Block 99 and the upcoming Puppet Master reboot) brokered the deal with previous publisher Thomas Defeo which took place over the last several months.

Yesterday, Fangoria’s website lauched a teaser video promising the magazine’s return. In the teaser, promises of ‘new blood’ to stain the pages of the magazine. Veteran editors Tony Timpone and Michale Gingold will also return to assist the editorial department. Sonnier has also hired Phil Nobile Jr., formerly of the Alamo Drafthouse’s Birth.Movies.Death, as editor-in-chief of the magazine’s revival.

Fangoria Magazine is returning from its digital grave and back into print where it belongs. Thanks to a new investment, a new Editor-in-Chief, and a new Publisher, the world’s highest-profile horror movie magazine is reemerging as a collectible quarterly with the first issue set to drop this fall in time for Halloween.

Cinestate, the Texas-based entertainment company, completed the deal to acquire all the assets and trademarks of the Fangoria brand, including the magazine, from The Brooklyn Company. Cinestate CEO Dallas Sonnier diligently courted the previous publisher Thomas DeFeo for several months, with the two signing an agreement that turned over the rights to Sonnier & Cinestate.

Sonnier’s first move as the new Publisher was to hire his favorite film writer Phil Nobile Jr. as the Editor-in-Chief of Fangoria Magazine. Nobile comes to Fangoria from his role as Editor-At-Large for the website Birth.Movies.Death., and as a writer/producer for Stage 3 Productions in Philadelphia, where he created a feature-length documentary on John Carpenter’s HALLOWEEN. Nobile will also act as the Creative Director for the entire Fangoria brand.

“There needs to be a Fangoria,” says Nobile. “The magazine was a constant presence in the genre since 1979 – and then one day it was gone. That felt, to us, tragically incorrect. Fango was, for multiple generations, a privileged window into the world of horror. It gave us access to filmmakers’ processes and secrets, opened our eyes to movies we might have otherwise missed, and nurtured a wave of talent that’s out there driving the genre today. I’m proud and excited to be part of the team that’s bringing this institution back.”

As part of the arrangement, Cinestate controls all material from over 300 issues of Fangoria Magazine, including articles, photos, and exclusive interviews, spanning the past 39 years. The contents of the now–infamous Fangoria storage unit in New York, a veritable treasure trove of horrorhistory collected over decades by former staff, has arrived at the Cinestate offices to be sorted and cataloged.

Nobile and Sonnier quickly approached and landed deals with popular Fangoria legends Tony Timpone and Michael Gingold to return to the magazine with their own columns, and to consult for the company. Additionally, the publication already has excited commitments fromcontributors including frequent Cinestate collaborator S. Craig Zahler (BRAWL IN CELL BLOCK 99), Ashlee Blackwell (Graveyard Shift Sisters), Samuel Zimmerman (Curator, Shudder), Grady Hendrix(PAPERBACKS FROM HELL), Meredith Borders (former Editorial Director of Birth.Movies.Death.), Rebekah McKendry (academic and horror historian), and Preston Fassel (whose project OUR LADY OF THE INFERNO is currently in development at Cinestate). Nobile shall further curate a diverse roster of voices for the new iteration of the legendary publication.

“We are fully committed to restoring faith in Fangoria with the horror fan community, so many of whom bought subscriptions, but never received their magazines. We have also been reaching out to previous Fangoria contributors to introduce ourselves and invite them back into the tent for future collaborations. This is a process, but we are confident in our ability to earn back trust and be good partners in a brand that personally means so much to so many awesome people,” states Sonnier.

Sonnier was able to complete the Fangoria asset acquisition and fuel growth in Cinestate by raising over $5 million of investment for his company. The primary investor in Cinestate is a member of a prominent Texas family that wishes to remain anonymous. As part of the deal, Cinestate also acquired the assets and trademarks to out-of-print publications Starlog and Gorezone.

A full staff is in place and operating from the Cinestate offices in Dallas, TX. Zack Parker, formerly of Shudder, joins Fangoria as the Director of Brand Management, along with Jessica Safavimehr as Associate Publisher and Ashley Detmering as Art Director. Nobile will be based out of New Jersey. The team is dedicated to putting Fangoria back where it belongs – in print.

“When I read Fangoria as a kid, it was a special ritual. I had to save up for it, and then I had to find it. And bringing it home ten times a year became a kind of sacrament, poring over every photograph on every page, reading that whole thing front to back, then doing it again,” Nobile says. “We want to restore that analog thrill to readers. We want to duplicate the excitement that I remember bubbling up around a new issue of Fango, put that excitement in an envelope and mail it to our subscribers. Fangoria is not something that competes with online blogs. Fangoria is not an algorithm. Fangoria is something you hold in your hands, something you spend a bit of time with in the real world. That’s what it was for decades, and that’s what we’re going to make it again.”

Cinestate will further develop Fangoria into a brand for producing movies and podcasts, as well as publishing horror novels. Cinestate VP Amanda Presmyk will head up production on a slate of Fangoria-presented horror movies that Sonnier will bring to the table for Cinestate’s new label.

Cinestate is currently in post on a gonzo reimagining of the PUPPET MASTER franchise, as well as Zahler’s next movie DRAGGED ACROSS CONCRETE for Lionsgate starring Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn.Cinestate also published its first novel in January – Zahler’s HUG CHICKENPENNY: THE PANEGYRIC OF AN ANOMALOUS CHILD, which is being developed into a feature by Zahler, Cinestate and the Jim Henson Company.

The acquirement of Fangoria and its trademarks by Cinestate was made possible by a $5 million investment to the company from multiple sources. The arrangement will also give Cinestate access and control of the materials from the previous 300 issues released including: photos, articles, and exclusive interviews over the last 39 years.

Fangoria will be coming back with a bang, as Cinestate has more plans for the brand. The future looks bright as the name would be used for producing movies and podcasts, including a book series, and films to be lead under the slogan of ‘Fangoria Presents‘.

How do you start and practice writing?

oh man, u rly ask that big questions don’t you?? :’) i’m not sure how good this’ll be, but i’ll try to help!

start small. try drabbles or single scenes to get comfy w the process of actually writing stories. you’re never gonna write a 50k chaptered fic on your first writing attempt, y’know? and even if you do, it’s unlikely to be very good, but that’s okay. the more u write, the better you’ll get.

start simple. i would say to avoid smut bc a lot of people find that difficult to write. stick with fluff and more basic stuff. work with what you know, like a high school/college/domestic setting, or whatever you think will be easiest for you to write. think about the kind of books you read the most and maybe write something in that genre.

don’t delete things. save everything and keep it stored. even if you think it sucks now, you might not in a little while, or you may come back at some point and find that it’s something you can build on. if you don’t want to keep things on your computer, try google drive or dropbox or something.

read. read fic, read books, poetry, song lyrics. even watching movies and shows and listening to music. just consuming media is really important to keep your ideas fresh, i think.

make your own inspiration. when you’ve hit a rut with a fic or you’re just starting out with a fic, make playlists or moodboards to, like, fuel your own creativity. it’s a great help with writers block, that kinda stuff, because it takes you away from the writing without taking you away from the story, y’know?

understand there’s a cycle. you’re going to have periods where you just can’t write. inspiration isn’t available on tap, but it isn’t finite either. you definitely will run out of inspiration, but you gotta accept that just means it’s time for a break and the inspo will grow back. i’ve gone a whole year without writing before and it was awful for me, but the inspiration eventually came back. i guess u gotta have patience with yourself that way.

be patient. learning to write is just like learning to draw. there are a tonne of skill you need to learn and it takes a lotta work to get good, but if you want to, you can. don’t be disheartened when you’re not brilliant in a couple weeks because that’s unlikely to happen if you’re just starting out. keep working at it and be patient with yourself and you’ll do just fine, dude.

i had SUCH a hard time with narrowing these down so please feel free to share ur thoughts!!

kaz: nemesis

hades was a close second here (i mean, the boy wants his $$$$) and so was athena, but in the end kaz’s fundamental life goal is to win, and more importantly, to win against others (otherwise he might be nike too). his personal battles with pekka rollins, with jan van eck, with jordie’s memory—hell, even with his own body—are what drive his every move. when he loves other people, he wants to protect them, and his choice method of doing so is vengeance. long story short, kaz is Angry and everybody knows it.

inej: zeus

first of all, inej feels comfortable in the air beyond all reason. the sky is her domain, whether it be on gabled roofs or a wire. she is borne aloft by her invisible wings, as leigh has said.

secondly, inej feels very strongly about justice without caring about conformity or popular morals. zeus may have been The Worst but he was the god of justice, and unlike dike i don’t think he concerned himself with social norms. inej is powerful, seeks justice, and doesn’t quite care about being nice while doing it.

(side note, i don’t think her feelings for kaz would necessarily keep her from being a hunter of artemis)

jesper: hermes

i know we say wylan is the runaway, but wylan just ran away from home that one time—jesper is more or less running away from his entire life, continually, with a fervor. he’s a thief and a traveler, he’s quick, cunning, and athletic, he’s basically everything that hermes is described to be. he is also very loath to identify as grisha, a highly distinguishing characteristic, which shows how little he wants to be tethered to any definition he hasn’t made for himself.

i know hermes is often called the bringer of good luck and jesper doesn’t seem to have any of that, but he really does—just not where he’s looking for it.

wylan: athena

THIS BOY IS SMART!!!!

seriously though, fuck van eck for thinking his son was stupid. wylan is so so so intelligent and creative and innovative and he is not afraid to wreck people’s shit, sometimes literally. he is determined not to let his disability (i always figured he had really bad dyslexia) get in his way and has an intense desire to be useful, so he’s very proactive too.

also he hates his dad and athena hates her dad so there’s that

nina: ares

i’m gonna start off with a disclaimer that if ares and aphrodite had a kid in the soc universe it would be nina. full-on goddess nina zenik.

aphrodite is maybe the simpler choice here (especially with her tailor powers), but sometimes i forget how much fight nina has in her, and how much she wanted to go back to school to learn more about fighting. i mean, the fucking jurda parem incident. she has that bellicose, martyr-like streak in her that her beauty always plays second fiddle to. honestly, i think it’s a lot of what fuels her physical allure: so she can use it to get things done.

matthias: demeter

I KNOW THIS IS WEIRD HEAR ME OUT

matthias’ whole thing is being in touch with nature. when he’s being an asshole he says the grisha are “unnatural.” he is intensely loyal to his land (even when the land is just ice and snow) and everything that lives on it. his god is a tree for fuck’s sake. he believes everything happens according to natural order, but can still change his mind as to what constitutes natural order.

also he cares a lot about his one select person, kind of like how demeter cares only about her one select person

kuwei: athena

firstly i like the idea of wylan and kuwei being half-brothers

i was also contending with hephaestus for these two, especially considering kuwei’s inferni powers and wylan’s knack for making things, but i don’t think kuwei down-to-earth enough for that. he’s is all mind over matter, but unlike wylan, he can be a lot more passive and lofty about how things turn out. the way he sits back and just observes is actually pretty manipulative sometimes (see: that time he pretended to barely speak kerch for an entire book). he’s smart but he’s quiet about it.
