The things that The Flow can do

I'm kinda of a newcomer to the JD comunity, but I reunited all the possible things that The Flow can do, welp, here it goes:

-Create portals and just teleporting (Used by The Traveler, Si'Ha Nova, Wanderlust and Night Swan)

-Cloning yourself (Used by The Traveler and Wanderlust)

-Break/Fix things (Sweet but Psycho and I Am My Own Muse)

-Transforming people in your personal minions

-Root (The power of remaining in the same spot regardless of the circumstances. As seen in Dragostea Din Tei)

-Give life to objects (Probably used to create Discoball)

-Air/earth manipulation(?) (Used by Agent D in Toxic to ooof the agents who were against her and in Gimme More by the same reason)

-Change clothes REALLY FAST (Ok, you CANNOT convince me that Agent D in that scene in Toxic, she didn't used The Flow to change her clothes realy fast, also, I Wanna Dance With Somebody used that same power at the ending of the song)

-Metal/Electrical manipulation (Bellis from "Daisy" uses her powers to manipulate the factory functions)

-"Animagus" (used by Felicia in 'Bloody Mary')

-Influence other people (I think that's the "base" power of The Flow, that is, being able to influence other people to do what you want/what you doing, maybe Night Swan powers is a EXTREME evolution of this power)

-Water manipulation

-Dream powers (Cthylla)

-Fire powers (Derkes, goddess of fire, and Luke Cypher)

-Firearms (Diego in Livin La Vida Loca)

-Giving powers to objects (Hairman hairdryer, Phone Girl phones)

-Telekinectic powers (revealed by the lore master that HTE, has those)

-Plant/fungus powers/manipulation (Amanita and Rosaria)

-Glass manipulation(?) (Icona Shard avatar)

-Rubik cubes manipulation (Rubika)

-Power to create ANYTHING (Selios)

-Shadow Manipulation (Shadow Rider in 'Judas')

-Screen manipulation (?) (Talia and Sandy)

-Butterfly manipulation (?) (Giulia and Mothingan)

-Ilusion (Iluquim)

Ok, ok, all this Flow thingi is quite interesting, but *how* does it work?

Well, I have a theory/headcanon, that, it's The Flow that choses its user, it's stated that everyone on the Danceverse, but only a few can use it, so my theory/hc is basicaly:

There's this person, this person has *mad* moves, The Flow looks at the person and thinks "damn, this person has mad moves!" then The Flow permits this person to utilize them, but here's the catch!

The Flow always gives the person the powers to manipulate what The Flow finds suitable for that person.

Example: Diego flowbend involves firearms, he has this power because The Flow saw that he would be the best suitable to have this power, Diego *could* have the power to create portals or air manipulation, but The Flow wouldn't let him because it doesn't find suitable for him, and even if he gets those powers, The Flow will try to resist on him trying to use.

Question (from my friend) for the polyglots!

How do other languages refer to being in “the zone”, having to “grind”, or describing when things “click”. These just seem like very odd ways to refer to very essential concepts, the only example I know of in another language would be Stephen R. Lawhead describing the awen the descends on warriors and bards in his Pendragon Cycle. The way he describes it, sounds very much like “the zone”, but obviously way more badass.

@apesoformythoughts, @oldshrewsburyian, or anyone else who may have knowledge on this point, please share!

(Having not read Lawhead in a minute, I’m glad this friend specified warriors AND bards, or I’d think it was another word for a bloodlust/berserking situation)

Like the shimmering sunlight

On the first dew drops of morning –

Coffee-brown eyes so bright –

Floating, flaming leaves adorning

The sweet fall breeze!

My world's turning,

Heart burning,

Yet all's just smoke and mirrors between us.

And it's not fair

That I'll never get to cross the plexiglass...

The damned plexiglass!

You're laughing with your friends, as you sprinkle pearls,

Shining, sparkling

The waves are calling at me – soft marble curls.

I'm diving, drowning,

Trying to finish your lines.

I end up thinking

How it would be

If all those minutes and miles turned to dust!

But now here I stay,

Watching you walk away

From the other side of the transparent plexiglass...

Okay, let me write about my favourite parts!

That it’s called Plexiglass 👌👌👌👌 (That mf-in plexiglass 🤣)

Yes yes yes, the sunlight and morning imagery? I did keep thinking of sunshine through it as in person he’s so warm. The way these lines place me as a dew drop being simmered away by a sun far too bright for me? ACCURATE. That all just works perfectly! And all of that warmth carried through in the coffee brown and autumn colours (even preserving the timings and seasons of the experience?)? Love!

“The damned plexiglass” IKR????!!!!!! 👀

And then all this cool imagery, contrasting with the warmth of before - the pearls? Love! The “ocean-blue mind” (such a wonderful phrase which signals the expanse and wonder of his big, creative brain spewing out such treasures)? And then the way the curl of the waves serve as a descriptor for the mind but link to his literal curls? And it’s perfect because he did, ofc, have these beautiful cool-toned, silvered curls, which were so striking in person. And also this works bc I spent a lot of the day imagining all the Qs I’d ask - if I ever could - about his process and characters (and what goes on in that ocean-blue mind!). And also I crossed a literal ocean to be there!

“Trying to finish your lines”!!!! Perfect, bc yes! As a Professional* Imaginer of Fictional Conversations (a writer you might say) it was impossible not to try and “script” multiple versions of the interaction in advance**, even knowing when it came to it that I had close to zero sway over the narrative and the moment. And he’s an actor! And he has lines! And we were in line!
