here’s icarly characters and whether or not they’d be fans of drag race.
(disclaimer: i have not seen much of the reboot, so i will only go based off the original series... for the most part)
carly shay: captial A ally. supports local drag and tips like she doesn’t run out of money. started watching when jinkx was on because she was homesick for seattle while she was in italy with her dad. will root for any seattle girl no matter how badly they do.
has canonically sat freddie down in the reboot to watch drag race with her (source? trust me... also it’s the one thing i know about the reboot)
sam puckett: she gets roped into seeing the show after sending a gif of venus d'lite throwing her wig in s3 out of context. huge fans of seasons 2 and 3. wanted jaremi to win s4. sam brings out the butter sock when the s4 crowning happened and ends up causing property damage. followed the tamisha iman drama like it was the newspaper
when living with cat, she puts it on for her because it’s like gay cocomelon.
freddie benson: will watch it whenever it’s on in the shays’ apartment. god forbid it’s on in his house, his mother would have a cow. has watched a full season or two with carly. has an official press badge for dragcon. he likes watching review/recap channels in his spare time because he likes hearing what he has to say. likes brooke lynn hytes a normal amount.
spencer shay: only got into it after carly texted him about the queens making dresses out of candy. watches the premiere and any other design challenge. has recreated ball looks to a stunning degree and carly has come home to spencer wearing one of those looks. argues with judges on screen when he doesn’t agree with an assessment like he’s arguing at the ref at a sports game. thinks rock m. sakura should have won the ball ball.
gibby gibson: (gibby voice) gibby! gibby’s here for a good time, so he’ll watch it whenever it’s on. likes untucked a bit more than the main show.
t-bo: he and spencer watched s12 together. heidi is his favorite and he’s an avid hall and closet listener. has played the clip about shitting in a parking lot (in glasgow) more times than he could count.
nevel papperman: you think his gay ass *doesn’t* watch drag race? facetimes carly and gets in heated debates about the episode. he’s a redditor and he will spoil the entire season out of spite. writes fanfiction and uses r/rpdrcringe as free promotion. writes vatya and always villainizes trixie because he thinks carly would stan her.
nora derschlit: nora derschlit is a stan twitter microcelebrity. nora derschlit will defend her faves without hesitation. nora derschlit can be seen replying to every one of her faves tweets. nora derschlit is banned from voss events.
the level of manipulation in dan’s interview is honestly staggering. everything- from the green background and clothes, the lovable black character actor, the calculated tears, the pointed and carefully worded questions- is meant to disarm us as viewers.
there’s a reason he released this the second quiet on set premiered. he and his team wanted them to show their hand before they laid anything out. the information they offered was specific, convenient, and ticked off as many “plausible deniability” boxes as possible. and they had this interview locked and loaded for the moment they knew what the survivors had on him.
he is trying so hard to shape the narrative by pinning blame on everyone else, while the other adults who were involved in his work are turning their wrongdoings back on him. it’s cowardly and shameful that so many of them kept quiet for this long, and the whole time it was happening, too.
when it comes down to it, an industry that revolves entirely around making money off of children should not exist. children are not cash cows or puppets or sexual objects, and the people who profit off of them are predators. yes, we need far more regulations when it comes to child actors, such as on set therapists, but ultimately breaking down this media conglomerate and getting back to the actual art of acting is what will protect children and families the most.
kids don’t need to be on screen. if your child loves acting, support your local children’s theater. don’t sell out your child, or someone else’s child, for your own gain.
On the 20th of March, eleven years ago, T-ARA released their sixth Japanese single, "Bunny Style!".
The title track is an upbeat and catchy pop song, accompanied by playful choreography and a cute bunny-themed concept, reflecting the group's signature style and charm.
