Steve walked with Loki through the garden, thinking Loki was none the wiser, but he was dreadfully wrong. No one could trick Loki. Arm in arm, Loki led the way, stopping at a bench in front of a small pond. Sitting down, the both of them watch two swans swim together under the bright full moon.
It was peaceful out there, only the faint sound of the orchestra in the distance was breaking the silence. Loki turned in his seat, facing Steve. Steve turned to also look at the Prince, heart beating faster than ever before.
“Well, Johnny, tell me about yourself.” Loki spoke, leaning against the back of the bench, giving all of his attention to Steve.
Clearing his throat, Steve spoke. “Well, I was born to a lovely couple in Glenville. My father was in the army for the Kingdom of Brooklynshire. He died and so I took over the family company. I like to read and take care of the animals on my sister's farm.”
Loki hummed and leaned closer. “Interesting. What do you think about my Kingdom? Magnificent isn’t it?”
Steve nodded, sweat growing on his forehead.
“Ah, yes. It is very magnificent. It truly took my breath away.” He spoke, scratching the back of his neck.
“Johnny, darling… What’s your sister’s name?” Loki asked, knowing full well, Steve was making stuff up and didn’t have a sister.
“Um… S… Susan?” Steve tried, knowing his cover was blown.
“You sure, Steve?” Loki spoke and Steve sighed, reaching up and taking off his mask.
“Yes, it is me. Steve. Don’t tell the King I snuck in.” Steve basically begged and Loki chuckled.
“Why would I tell my father?” Loki asked but Steve just shrugged, looking away.
“Why are you here, Steve?” Loki asked softly, reaching over, gently taking Steve’s face in his hands, forcing him to look into his eyes.
“I wanted to make sure you didn’t do anything stupid… Like the last sutor party the King held.” Steve spoke, resting his hands on Loki’s wrists.
Loki tilted his head to the side, a teasing smirk on his face.
“Now, that can’t possibly be the only reason why, Steven.”
Steve stayed silent and said nothing.
Letting go, Loki went up and took off his mask, dropping it carelessly to the grass below.
“How about this… I’ll tell you my secret and then you can tell me the real reason why you came?” Loki spoke, and Steve stared up into Loki’s eyes.
Taking a moment, Steve nodded with a sigh.
“I am in love with a commoner who has three knight friends. Who went to knight training, and who has beautiful hair.”
Steve thought for a moment before answering. “Bucky?”
Loki sputtered and shook his head with a laugh.
“No, not that boob, way too macho.” Loki admitted.
Steve narrowed his eyes, thinking intensely.
“Well, you can’t like Peter, he’s like four years old. And Sam is dating Buc-”
With wide blue eyes, Steve stared at Loki, jaw dropped. Stuttering, his face blushed furiously, turning a very deep red.
“You think my hair is beautiful?” Steve finally spoke up and Loki sighed and let out a breathy laugh.
“Was that all you took out of that?” He asked and Steve shook his head, reaching out and pulling Loki into his arms.
Loki chuckled and wrapped his arms around him, digging his face into Steve’s neck.
“I wuv you.” Steve whispered as if it was forbidden for anyone else to hear.
And, it sort of was.
Pulling away, the both of them with a smile on their face, leaned in once more…
“Hey! You two should kiss!” A voice called out from high in the treetops.
Steve and Loki paused their advance, looking at the tree beside them, high above them was Bucky and Sam, giggling to each other. Steve sighed and turned back to Loki, but before they could lean back in…
“Loki!”

Cuddles and Warm Blankets

Loki loved a quiet night in. Cuddling under a blanket is exactly what the both of them needed. Y/N and Loki dressed in warm clothes, placing the blankets in the dryer to warm them up, and getting dinner underway. Loki cooked for Y/N half of the nights of the week, while she did the rest. They both left Saturdays for date nights and trying new places. Even if that meant family dinners as well.
They shared a living space on the compound, but during certain times of the year, would travel between the compound, their apartment in Manhattan, and Asgard. This year, it was Christmas in Manhattan. They can see the snow fall from their 19th floor apartment, with a gentle presence of the Christmas spirit and embellishments. Y/N loved Christmas, and Loki treasured watching her enjoy it.
Loki worshiped his wife, Y/N. She was the world to him and he was the world to her. Y/N was the only person that understood him. She knew his heart through what others saw as bad. She stood beside him while Thor was being crowned. She stood beside him while his father told him he wasn’t of Asgard, but of Jotenheim. She stood beside him as he awaited his trial from his actions in New York City. She stood beside him as he sat in the dungeons. She stood beside him when Frigga died. That was the hardest time for the both of them. Y/N loved Frigga, and Frigga loved having a daughter. They both died that day. Y/N understood how unloved he felt from Odin, and valued by Frigga. Even though Y/N was there for him, he was consistently right there for her. Although he could be crude, hard, and vicious to other people, he was a sweetheart to her.
“My darling wife. What movie would you like to watch during dinner? Or should we eat at the table tonight?” Loki gently wrapped his arms around her waist from behind.
“Hm. I think we should sit on the couch with dinner and watch a movie. Then clean up and cuddle under the blanket.” Y/N suggested, laying her head on his chest.
“That sounds like a perfect plan. Now go pick a movie while I serve us, Pet.” Loki lightly patted your backside.
You chose the movie, Miracle on 34th Street, but the original 1947 version. Y/N thought that the other remakes could never live up to the Maureen O’Hara and Natalie Wood. Loki placed their dinner down on the coffee table, then gently pulled his love close to him. Y/N pressed play on the movie, leaning into her husband.
“My darling, what is happening in this movie? Why does that little girl not believe he is the, what is he called, Santa Claus?” Loki pondered.
“Her mother does not believe in Santa. She thinks that fairytales are not reality. Therefore, her daughter Susan doesn’t. But she does eventually believe, they both do.” Y/N giggled.
Loki held her close the rest of the night, talking about anything and everything they could think of. Their love for each other growing by the second of each minute or each hour of each day. Cuddles and warm blankets was apart of their love language. A cherished memory for the both of them. Other people seek date nights with lavish gifts, but the best gifts are those that include time. Y/N just wanted to be in the presence of Loki and Loki be in the existence of Y/N. A love unlike any other.
