okay, so, like, subnautica, right?

recent news is that subnautica 3 is in production/in the works, hooray!! literally cannot be more excited about this, it’s my favorite game ever and i am so thrilled to see where the next one is headed but, i feel like, what the next one is going to be about is. . obvious?

who knows!! maybe im losing my mind here and i am just a tad too into these games so other people didn’t think about this but, sub3 is gonna be about the architect home planet. it has to be, doesn’t it?? 

the exact quote from the people working on the game is “I dream of visiting new worlds, exploring intricate alien ecosystems and lost civilizations. I don't think I'll ever get tired of the fantasy of making contact with intelligent life. I also dream about going on these adventures with friends. Getting lost, together.” and people are theorizing that the game takes place either in the past, showing 4546B a thousand years ago, takes place in the crater’s edge, or another unseen part of 4546B but. . .4546B’s story is done? the only loose end there is Ryley, who i would love to see again, but the planet’s mysterious have all been answered? i don’t know how they are coming to those conclusions when BZ perfectly sets up what the next game will be about?

“I dream of visiting new worlds, exploring intricate alien ecosystems and lost civilizations” this??? seems so much like they’re talking about exploring the architect homeworld??? new worlds implies we’re going to a different place, doesn’t it? and lost civilizations, yeah, going through the arc homeworld and piecing together what happened??

“I also dream about going on these adventures with friends. Getting lost, together.” some people are interpreting this as sub3 going multiplayer, which would be okay i guess, but wouldn’t this make more sense if it were referencing Al-An and robin???? especially with the line BZ ends with?? ‘with you, I am ready to face whatever awaits us’ like???

also the second game ended with a cliff hanger!!! it ended with showing us the architect homeworld!!! WHY WOULDN’T SUB3 BE ABOUT THAT???? WHY WOULD THEY SUDDENLY SHIFT THE STORY ENTIRELY??

i dont know, maybe im losing my mind here, maybe theorists on youtube know something i don’t but the plot of sub3 seems obvious to me, because BZ literally ended with showing us where the story was headed.

am i crazy? or have other people also realized that exploring the architect homeworld seems like the only logical next step in the story? to find out what happened? we found out what happened to sam and the game ends with robin promising they’ll find out what happened to the architects. why are people thinking ANYTHING ELSE would happen????

who knows, if sub3 comes out and im completely wrong, i will take that L and dig myself a grave but until then, i will hold this thought pretty confidently

Subnautica: Below Zero

The first Subnautica is a game I used to watch various youtubers play. I thought the concept and game looked very fun, but I was too young to have the money to buy games at the time. To my surprise, years later, Subnautica: Below Zero was released, something I didn’t even know was in development. I was instantly excited to get to play a game I was so interested in, and an updated version at that! I was immediately enamored. I’ve read that many people don’t enjoy how narratively driven Below Zero is, I however do. I love it when I’m given an in-world motivation to progress through a game, and a missing sister is a pretty good one! I also love solving mysteries, which incentivized me to explore a lot. Another thing I love about the Game is Alan. I loved hearing what he had to say throughout the game. His sarcastic quips and genuine questions about humanity made him grow on me very fast. The game’s progression is gradual but rewarding. I always felt like there was some way to improve my machines. I tend to enjoy survival games and I think Below Zero is my favorite one! 7/10

But Subnautica below zero? I feel lonely, I just met Al-an and found the Koppa mining base. And I know it's probably weird but I'd like to make him a bed in my base too. I'm nowhere near finding him a body but I think it'd feel less lonely. I want to talk to him all the time. I'd love it if I was able to place hanging pots and plants but realized there is no flora that would support that. Or add many more posters. I am enjoying all the news and databank entries talking about the Aurora and learning about the Mercury II's survivors makes me feel less alone, but it's a lonely planet. The chelicerate is scary as hell, I miss my reaper leviathans

I have MANY thoughts on this but my load bearing in game explanation is simply that Marguerit is still alive in below zero without the cure. To my understanding unless they’ve more recently said something they just didn’t explain that. so I’m making up my own bullshit to piggyback off that hah

Reading through others theory’s about how she might have survived there are implications in pda entries that it effects individual humans differently? So there could very possibly not be an 100% mortality rate for humans?? As well I imagine him crashing much farther from them so his location might be less saturated though through his ten year isolation I do have him finding the crater but maybe doing so he comes across vents with the temporary cure peepers and such that have been keeping the rest of the sea life alive.

Thanks for the interest! I do have some additional ideas about him hosting a disease mutation situation but that’s going a bit off topic

Why Raft game is just Subnautica from another dimension

(And why I love both games. Contains spoilers for Subnautica, Subnautica Below Zero and Raft)

Both games are survivals, set in a sea enviroment. Pretty obvious.

Titanium is frustratingly easy to find in Subnautica. Titanium is frustratingly difficult to find in Raft.

Snow veicles that possess a not very intuitive and pleasant driving experiences. Bonus points for angry and fluffy snow predators.

These two evil thingies. Just. Leave. Me alone.

Greedy corporations are fuelling the conflict. Also mean, self-entitled micromanagers that no player is fond of.

Bart Torgal and Detto being cinnamom rolls who are enthusiastic and passionate about a specific field of science, in spite of people being dismissive about it.

Badass gray-haired ladies. Yes, I know Elaine used to be one privileged business woman on Tangaroa, but, come on, I will not be persuaded that a badass girl boss like her would not become bff (or gf maybe 👀) with Marguerite.

And finally. The player has to face (alone?) harsh environments, struggling to find supplies and to fight back aggressive animals.

So to compensate for the stress both games make sure to provide the whole "decorate your survivalist nest with plants and trinkets to make it cozy".
