This video is only available to people who are members of Acau's ( 악어 ) Youtube, but one of his fans posted a short clip Acau shared of his and Quackity's conversation testing out the QSMP translator!

"the egg event is going to end" "the egg event went on too long" THERE IS NO EGG EVENT ANYMORE, THIS IS JUST LIFE. THIS IS JUST THE QSMP. THE EGGS ARE AN INTRINSIC PART OF THE SERVER AND TO KILL THEM OFF WOULD BE TO BLOW UP A FUNDAMENTAL PART OF THE WORLDBUILDING OUT OF STUBBORNNESS. AAAAA.

i'm not rly the type for mcyt stuff, but i think i finally managed to articulate why qsmp in particular just feels so incredibly special to me.
it's the way that the language proficiency of literally everyone involved is slowly evolving the longer they play together. the way that the english speaking players are making an effort to talk to one another in spanish and vice versa. when this thing started i remember hearing from multiple eng povs that they had to lean a lot on the google translate tab (and thats ok!), but something that really excites me is when i see those same eng ccs express how much they want to learn more about speaking spanish bc it's a way that thet can genuinely connect with their fellow players.
it's not even the fact that it's a minecraft smp; that just Happens to be the medium through which we get to watch this unfold. it's the first time, at least to my knowledge, that we're able to watch both the spanish and english-speaking communities bond over a game they love at a level as involved as this. both sides of the community are equally prominent, and more importantly, they're united in a way that i've never really observed in an online space until now. genuinely ive never seen anything like this before and its just really fascinating to see how all the players take on the challenge of building that bridge over something that once was a communication barrier for them. i love language i love cooperative gaming i love humans having fun learning new things from one another

fully supportive of cass learning sign language and the fanon that she uses it more than spoken language but also. so many of you act as if its a lesser version of communication and she'll automatically be a pro/not struggle with it. its still a complex language that has structure, grammar, vocabulary and syntax. theres so many different factors for it, even within just one region - different signing styles, dialects, slang, as well as actual variations (asl, pse, see)
just because you rely on verbal communication doesnt mean nonverbal or alternative versions of communication is a lesser version than your normal
sign language, writing, variant types of aac devices and resources. its all methods of communication. it all deserves to be treated with the respect and regard that vocal languages are treated with

this is a small thing all things considered but the translation is so fucking. stupid. when THREE of your six languages are romance languages. it’s such a wasted opportunity. like it not only shows how little he cares and understands about languages and etymology, but also how little he understands about WHY multilingual smps are so appealing. like. it would be SO much more fun to watch a spanish streamer and a portuguese speaker communicating each in their native language, because they can UNDERSTAND each other while simultaneously learning the other’s language. there’s no fun in realizing your languages aren’t as different as you think if it’s translated on a silver platter. there’s no effort in learning and bonding and sharing cultures.

headcanon that percy is smart in a sense that he picks up language really easily, like he just learns them through exposure and stupidly fast, but since he’s dyslexic and has a hard time writing/reading and that’s all schools care about, he never learned the value of his skill

also i will fall on my sword and try to clarify things that can be lost in translation and can just be simple misspeaking:
no one is upset that quackity made statements in spanish. we're upset that he made no private statement, and his public ones were at inaccessible times for the workers affected, in a language the majority do not understand, and that he has no subtitles / the translation website wasn't fucking working.
speaking in spanish = obviously okay
speaking in spanish without subtitles when saying nothing to his workforce / said workforce having to tune in to twitch.tv in the middle of the night to find out their employment status = not okay

*asks deaf person to repeat a fingerspelled word more than once*

for the astrology ask game taurus, sagittarius aaand 9h ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ
Hallooo!
Okkk let's see:
-Taurus: mhh sushi and pizza....but I love fruit more than anything. Especially that kind of super sweet grape used to make wine *smuah* and apples. And lemons, I love lemons.
Also jelly, it doesn't matter which kind of jelly I just love it a lot... God I want some jelly now whyyyyy
Hmm idk I love food it's one of the best pleasures in the world. So yeah idk I love all the food ✨️✨️ I will be the joy of your grandmas, I will never deny them.
- places I'd like to visit in the future:
Ireland and Scotland: please they're beautiful and so rich of history and things to see and the nature and and-
France: I love France a lot... and admitting this just made me lose my Italian citizenship. I also hate it for its politics and many other stuff... but God isn't it beautiful.
Mexico! I've wanted to go there since I was little! My parents went there for their honeymoon, I fell in love with it when I watched the "Beverly hills chihuahua" movie (you can laugh ahshfhfhfh) and the culture and places look so interesting and beautiful to me! And I know about all the problems etc but still a beautiful place that deserves to be seen and treasured imo
Japan: I am very curious about it. More than the cities I'd like to visit the countryside, the semi-forgotten spots, because I've seen some pictures and it's absolutely breathtaking.
Greece: THE HISTORY! THE ART! THE CULTURE! THE ISLAND WITH THE CATS! Please I could finally see all the things I studied/am studying!!!!
Spain: I'm going there just for "casa batllò" and anything touched by Gaudí, because my love for that man is endless.
Whatever place has more examples of brutalist architecture. I love brutalism. Talk to me about brutalism. Best architectural style ever and I'm dying on this hill.
9h- what languages would you like to learn
ALL OF THEM. No seriously, I love learning new languages and unlocking new thinking patterns (it comes with the package!!!). Atm I can speak fluently Italian and English and with a bit of practice also Spanish (I haven't practiced it for the last 2 years and I'm a bit rusty with the speaking, but reading and listening I'm fine).
But also I want to learn French and German, they're my top priorities.
If I get the occasion I'm going for Russian, Chinese and Japanese too! Haaaaah if I hadn't chosen Art (and writing) as my main passions I would have chosen to study Languages and Etymology!!
ALSO SIGN LANGUAGE (idk which one but the feeling is there)

hey!! Can you tell a little more about El Ganso??
So something he's known for throughout the story is that he's a frequent hired gun. Well, sometimes hired. Sometimes he ends up being so moved by a friend's misfortune that he takes it upon himself to hunt down their problems personally. And one of the most important things to El Ganso are his close friends. Close enough friends of his he considers family to heart, and because the physical world they live in now can be so dangerous, he will do anything to make keep said friends safe. He's extremely faithful to his family, and is willing to risk his life for them.
He's also easily motivated by emotion. Rather empathetic by nature, sometimes seeing even neutral acquaintances in distress can push him to exact revenge upon their enemies. He doesn't lust for death or brutality, but he hates the idea of innocent people suffering and will go to lengths to help.
Neither a protagonist or antagonist, he's on many different sides of the story depending on the circumstances at hand. He aids in TyV's revenge after he had lost an eye, against Leon. He defends Maggie no matter the cause because he feels like the world is always against her. He personally seeks out the thieves that steal Hannah's van, simply because her and her team's panicked state moved him enough to do so.
It's also just kind of easy to provoke him. For better or for worse. He's generally a calm and collected guy, but when challenged or aggressed, he fights back hard. He's got quick hands, barreled fingers with shots ready to fire at a moment's notice. He's not afraid to throw a punch either, and he's rather agile too. And once he's in a fight, it's hard to get him to stop. He'll only back down once hes won, if he feels truly beaten, or if his foe's emotional state is too much for him to bear.
When he's not being a brawling little hitman-goose though, he really likes traveling, dabbles in arts such as writing (he likes writing about his experiences a lot), painting (from reference most often), and trying out the fascinating musical instruments this world has to offer. Specifically he really likes hand drums. He's also rather social, though he likes to put up a front like he isn't, and loves exchanging stories with others.
A lot of the time when I draw him, you really only see his serious side when he's working/busy being a broody hitman. But he's kinda just an empathetic sweetheart deep down. Cares a lot and stuff.
When it comes to his friends, Maggie, TyV and Uppsulka are probably his closest ones, with other mimes like Caela, Ching, Chickenstab and Rede being some of his more casual friends. He also befriends some of the friendliest of the living like Tim and Rachel, and even Samantha to a degree-- a person most mimes absolutely despise by default. Her being upset and confused by her inherited problems of the future was easily enough to convince El Ganso that she doesn't deserve the flack she gets from all the other mimes.
He is often strongly opposed to the more needlessly hostile people in the story. He doesn't work well with Jarna or Holly, and while he still considers Rede a friend, it is a rocky relationship due to Rede's complete carelessness for other's suffering. El Ganso also greatly dislikes Debbie, Gary, and April and their problem causing attitudes.
A few other small, unrelated things about him... He's kind of an easy blusher. He's got bad volume control, either always a little too quiet or a little too loud, no real in between. He can spin his spurs like a saw, much like Caela and her skirt (and Caela's way into it!). In puppet, he can chew through extremely tough materials like wet paper. He is one of the few mimes who actually enjoys & indulges in sleeping. He likes giving gifts, is ecstatic when he learns what celebration cards are. Much like Holly & french, El Ganso will speak specifically spanish from time to time, despite the fact that all mimes can speak universally without a language barrier.
He is my silly goose.
