Number of Spanish Missions in California and Baja California by county/municipality
by mexidominicarican8

California:

The Spanish missions in California formed a series religious outposts or missions established between 1769 and 1833 in what is now the U.S. state of California. The missions were established by Catholic priests of the Franciscan order to evangelize Indigenous peoples backed by the military force of the Spanish Empire. Civilian settlers and soldiers accompanied missionaries and formed settlements like the Pueblo de Los Ángeles. Indigenous peoples were forced into settlements called reductions, disrupting their traditional way of life and negatively affecting as many as one thousand villages

Baja California:

The Spanish missions in Baja California were a large number of religious outposts established by Catholic religious orders, the Jesuits, the Franciscans and the Dominicans, between 1683 and 1834 to spread the Christian doctrine among the Indigenous peoples living on the Baja California peninsula. The missions gave Spain a valuable toehold in the frontier land, and introduced European livestock, fruits, vegetables, and industry into the region. Indigenous peoples were severely impacted by the introduction of European diseases such as smallpox and measles and by 1800 their numbers were a fraction of what they had been before the arrival of the Spanish.

Mexico:

The First Mexican Republic secularized the missions with the Mexican secularization act of 1833, which emancipated indigenous peoples from the missions. Mission lands were largely given to settlers and soldiers, along with a minority of indigenous people. Most of the missions in Baja California were abandoned and are currently in ruins. Cities like Loreto, Mulegé, La Paz, and San José del Cabo were formed near/around Spanish missions

USA:

Many of these missions were restored in the mid 20th century. They have become a symbol of California, appearing in many movies and television shows, and are an inspiration for Mission Revival architecture. Concerns have been raised by historians and Indigenous peoples of California about the way the mission period in California is taught in educational institutions and memorialized. The oldest European settlements of California were formed around or near Spanish missions, including the four largest: Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, and San Francisco.

Panties in your pocket ;)
Or how would the moon boys react if you hid your panties in their pocket
I don’t usually write so sorry for the clunky grammar and storytelling but my soul has been dying for this and I needed to revive it :]
Warnings: a dick pic, underwear in broad daylight, sniffing of underwear 🤨, bad Spanish, suggestiveness(??), sus Khonshu, too many uses of the word panties, just smuttyish stuff in general really
If Steven found your panties at the museum he would just die probably.
He’d reach in his pocket to grab his phone and then- “Oh shit!” That’s not a phone, thats freaking underwearrrrr. First he’d just blink at it, having trouble fully processing that this is actually happening. That these are actually your panties. in his hands. right now. Then he’d shove it back inside his pocket so fast.
He’d try to act like nothing happened, scanning his periphery to make sure no one saw. Then he’d just go back to work. But you just know he’s taking small peaks at the lace throughout the day. imagining you, him, and those panties in all sorts of situations.
When he gets home he’d probably wrap his arms around you and press into you from behind, nuzzling his nose and into your neck and trying (and failing) not to smile as he whispers, “so, you think you’re quite cheeky, huh?”
For Jake I bet he’d just be finished taking care of some thugs in the street. He’d get in the limo and is about to grab his keys out of his pocket when whoops. Out comes a nice pair of thin, velvety panties that still have your scent on it. And lemme tell you... GODDAMN, That man is done for.
He lets out a low growl and clenches the panties tighter in his hands, shoving his nose in the silky material and letting your smell wash over him. Then If he really has enough time to spare he’ll take his length out of pants, hold the panties between his teeth and snap a pic.
“Veo lo que hiciste, niña traviesa, solo espera a que llegue a casa.” He’d text you along with the picture. And gosh that’d be so- ahhhhhh🥵🥵.
And Marc gahahahaha. Imma do him wrong for this one 🤣. when he reaches in his pocket, He’s on a moon knight quest and he means to grab a map that supposedly has the location of a ancient artifact. But before the mission started Marc realized that the map was a fake, and for some reason Khonshu refuses to believe him.
They argue on the street for awhile before Marc says, “Fine, take a look at it yourself then you pigeon!” and takes the map out of his pocket to wave it directly in Khonshu’s face.... except it’s not the map, it’s a pair of dark maroon panties, expensive lace lining the hem and made of a fabric so thin you can basically see straight through it. He jumps back as if he’s been burned and for a second can’t even comprehend what he’s holding.
It’s only when Khonshu lets out a deep, hearty laugh that he starts slipping it back in his pocket, no signs of amusement on his face. He doesn’t even get to enjoy the thought of you at some point wearing the same lingerie that’s hidden in his pocket because an undead big bird is laughing his ass off. “Shut the hell up.” Marc grumbles with a dark expression.
But Khonshu’s chuckles only slip into a low growl and a suggestive, “what? Don’t want to share, Spector?”

have youe ver been to death valley
yeah. our family used to swerve it on roadtrips to see dad's family but sometimes they cut through it. i think it depended on the weather. if its too hot, dont risk it. you know.
there's truly not much there except for uhh man this is a whole ass thing. scotty's castle is just out there. its like the only fucking landmark in the entire sprawling desert. im PRETTY SURE we have seen it at least once.
Scotty's Castle (also known as Death Valley Ranch) is a two-story Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival style villa located in the Grapevine Mountains of northern Death Valley in Death Valley National Park, California, US.[3] Scotty's Castle is named for gold prospector Walter E. Scott, although Scott never owned it, nor is it an actual castle.
calling scott a gold prospector is fucking insane. he has his own wiki page that starts with:
Walter Edward Perry Scott (September 20, 1872 – January 5, 1954), also known as Death Valley Scotty, was a prospector, performer, and con man who was made famous by his many scams involving gold mining and the iconic mansion in Death Valley, known as Scotty's Castle.
you should read these wiki articles bc they are bonkers lol

Q!Missa, the shapeshifter (a theory/headcanon!!)
Missa has already said many times his character is a kind of skull, or at least really really likes skulls.
What if Q!Missa is a kind of shapeshifter? Allow me to explain my sight: - Missa's duo with Phil is called "Death Duo", since (aparently) C/Q!Phil's type is people related to death (C!Kristin and now Q!Missa). - In Minecraft Extremo (another spanish mc serie), Missa used to call himself "la leyenda" (the legend) and do some extreme things as fight with op mobs (since he lost all his limited lives, but admins decide to revive him). He adquires some "hero vibes", and died like a hero in battle; trying to protect ME!Quackity. - ME!Missa was the "gods's favorite" (gods/admins use to do favors to him and ME!Roier). - It was implied by Missa himself that Q!Missa and ME!Missa are the same character, since he remembers his teammates and their lessons. - Character Missa has a hyperfixation for skulls and wants to be as cool as Skeletor (He-Man). - What if the reason that ME!Missa doesn't died the first time he lost all her lives because he is, in fact, the chosen one?
But not any kind of chosen one; C!Kristin's chosen one. He could be the Goddess of Death chosen one, they are kinda a-like. I mean: maybe Q!Missa is not as heroic as ME!Missa, but they are the same person, and Missa hyperfixation could be caused by his bond with C!Kristin.
He can be a perfect chosen one: kind, easy-going, kinda brave, do great waterdrops, pure-heart-like, sometimes chaotic but loyal, etc.
Since Kristin asked to Phil the name of his duo with Missa (or at least that's what I read on twt), maybe C!Kristin KNOWS Q!Missa existence, but Q!Missa doesn't know anything about C!Kristin, but that she's C/Q!Philza's wife.
Let me clarify their bound as goddess/chosen of the goddess: C!Kristin chosen Character!Missa long time ago to fullfill an unknown mission, given him the skull mask he always wears and a medallion that allows him to shapeshift into skull and human (something necesary for his mission). Even if Q!Missa loves to be an shapeshifter-skull, he covers all his body (with clothes) in order to not scare everybody because he is not able to understand completly how the medallion works (aka. sometimes he shapeshift by accident). He doesn't remember how or when that things came to him, but he loves it.
Q!Missa's senses constanly tell him that he has something to do, but don't know what is it, so he ends up doing things as the train tracks that supposed to allow everybody to go to Vegetta's house faster (before teleportation was possible).
So, a strong headcanon is that Q!Missa is not allow to die, literally. C!Kristin's blessing gave him partial-inmortality, at least until he can fullfill his mission. That could kinda explain ME events.
Another one is that C!Missa constantly saw C!Kristin in his dreams; He doesn't know who is the tall pretty lady, but feels comfortable around her (never talked to her, tho!!). Since he arrive to Quesadilla Island, he stopped seeing C!Kristin and doesn't dream at all!
Q!Missa will be a hero one day, you all would see it. If you read all my theory/hc, let me know what you think!!

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Day No. 3, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, Oct. 1, 2023
Not only are they fascinating to watch, hummingbirds have fantastic taste in music.
How else to explain the little avian hovering about Sierra Hull’s soundcheck and late-morning set at the Banjo stage on Day Three of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass?
Little birdie picked a good place to flutter around as Hull and her band played an energetic bluegrass-with-drums set, which Mr. and Mrs. Sound Bites took in in full after catching a few songs of Jon Langford & the Bright Shiners’ Scottish protest music at the Rooster.
Peeling off to catch parts of sets would be the theme for a first day of October stacked with outstanding performers who put the Hardly Strictly in the formerly Bluegrass-only fest inside San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.
Tumblr media
But first, a full set by Eilen Jewell - playing a guitar borrowed from Chuck Prophet - on Rooster, which found the singer and her band playing tracks from Gypsy and Get Behind the Wheel and simply slaying with a note-perfect rendition of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Green River.” Guitarist Jerry Miller is nearly as important as Jewell to the band’s success, adding twangy, country-rock spice to Jewell’s songs of love and adventure.
Then, back to the Banjo stage where musical chameleon Gabby Moreno served up slices of cumbia and American rock ‘n’ roll back-to-back and sung them in Spanish and English.
Tumblr media
After a quick visit to Prophet and the Mission Express on Rooster, the Sound Biteses floated over to Swan for Valerie June. Wearing a loud orange outfit and backed with pedal steel, organ and rhythm section, June spun an impossible-to-categorize web of funk, soul and Americana while playing banjo and acoustic guitar and meting out songs such as “Call Me a Fool.”
Tumblr media
Peeling off once again, the Sound Biteses were back at Banjo in time for the Travelin’ McCourys, with Punch Brothers/Might Poplar (whom we missed in favor of Emmylou Harris) banjo man Noam Pikelny filling in for Rob McCoury, and a blistering set of pure bluegrass that included “The Shaker” and “Scarlet Begonias,” with a triple-time back end, filling the park the Grateful Dead played so many times.
Tumblr media
“Seems appropriate,” Ronnie McCoury said as your diarists peeled off yet again to the tiny Horseshoe Hill stage, for a packed 100th-anniversary tribute to Doc Watson by Mitch Greenhill, playing one of Watson’s guitars, Nora Brown and Stephanie Coleman with guest slots from Andrew Marlin, June and Langford.
Tumblr media
“Summertime,” June’s rendition of “Handsome Molly,” Langford getting the lyrics to “Tom Dooley” from a piece of paper and “Southbound” were all on offer. And it all ended with the glorious experience of a couple hundred people singing “Keep on the Sunny Side” under the foggy skies and tall trees of Golden Gate Park.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After this life-affirming interlude, the Jerry Douglas Band was pushing blues-rock and jazz flecked with bluegrass on the Swan stage. Another peel and back to the Banjo where Rufus Wainwright played solo-acoustic and his singular voice wafted across the large expanse to the Arrow stage where Tommy Emmanuel dealt the festival’s penultimate set to a relatively small, but appreciative, hard-listening audience.
Tumblr media
Gasps filled the air as Emmanuel played inhuman runs on his acoustic guitar on such songs as “Sixteen Tons,” “Deep River Blues” and “Blue Moon.” He introduced a phantom band as he played a bassline, then percussion and rhythm before adding lead and left the audience agog as he played them simultaneously. He wrapped up his portion with the instrumentals “Imagine” and “Beatles Medley” as Harris began her closing set back where the day began on Banjo.
Tumblr media
With a four-piece band of multi-instrumentalists behind her, Harris concluded HSB in grand style. “Miss the Mississippi and You,” “Pancho and Lefty,” “Hickory Wind,” “Evangeline” and “The Boxer” all filled the cool, early-evening air and added a extra layer of wistfulness to the end of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2023.

My Far Cry 6 OC~!
Denle la bienvenida a Mia Moreira~!
Mia is una fotografa, a photographer, and a guerrilla. She was born and grew up in Uruguay her whole life and, like many Uruguayans at the time, wanted to leave to find a better life. For herself and her family.
Too poor to immigrant, legally or otherwise, to countries like Brazil, Argentina, Australia, or the U.S, Mia made the decision to join the Uruguayan Armed Forces, joining el Ejercito Nacional, or the National Army. This decision trained her as a soldier and also allowed her to see the world. She was deployed in U.N peace keeping missions to Sinai, the Congo, Haiti, and the Central African Republic. It was during this time that she would take on the role of combat photographer and journalist as well.
In 2016, due to increasing international pressure, Yara's presidente Anton Castillo accepted U.N peacekeepers and investigations in Yara. This was due to rumors and accusations of a revival of slavery, human rights abuses, and democratic fraud. In 2018 the product Viviro began to garner international attention, the U.N continued to interfere in domestic politics, and the western world had begun heavily blockading and sanctioning the island. These multitude of actions led to the presidente to evict the U.N from Yara and focus on consolidating his power, working on his promise to revive paradise.
In the very controversial "Batalla de Segunda", which took place in the town of Segunda in the Province of Cruz del Salvador, Yaran forces decisively defeated the under-prepared and outnumbered U.N peacekeepers. A contingent of Uruguay's Parachute Company Skorpion, an anti-terrorist unit, was part of the U.N forces that day, and this was the unit that Mia called family.
The Yarans killed fifty-three peacekeepers and took two hundred and five hostage, eventually freeing them to avoid more severe international action. To this day twenty-three peacekeepers remain missing. One of them is Mia Moreira, remembered by her family and unit in Uruguay for her bravery. Little do they know she chose to remain in Yara. Escaping the Battle of Segunda wounded but still alive, she lost people close to her and witnessed tremendous horrors inflicted on the innocents she was supposed to protect. Mia would spend months searching for other U.N troops to re-group with while hampering the dictatorships progress, and would eventually become an ally of La Moral, although it is unclear if she properly joined the guerrilla group. Her actions against Castillo's dictatorship include intelligence gathering, training the youth in La Moral, and press/propaganda, putting her skills as a special forces soldier, a photographer, and a journalist on full display.
Thanks for reading~! Tell me what you think?
EXTRAS:
Mia is twenty-eight years old. She speaks English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese fluently. She speaks some German as well. She's a lesbian. And if anyone, literally anyone, likes her I'll totally write more.
