ok not to be all “ignore the bullies” but we have GOT to stop engaging with aphobes. like I promise the most effective way to combat this “new wave of aphobia” is to block and ignore them. actively engaging them and debating them is doing nothing but giving them a bigger platform to be even louder than they already are. which is what they want. we cannot kid ourselves into thinking that this is some massive new age wave of aphobia. it isn’t!! it’s a small but loud minority of the same old exclusionary bigots as last time trying to test the waters with their hatred.

and like, I’m happy to see so many people sticking up for us ofc but I guarantee you that engaging with them or even acknowledging them at all is as good as giving them a soapbox and a megaphone to further spew their bullshit. the only way to protect our communities from their abuse is not by giving them a seat at the table and debating them but by cutting them out of it completely. fucking block them. Do not give them a seat at the table and do not make them feel like they have any ground to stand.

I still can’t get over how completely vulnerable laudna was at the end of the episode. In her relationship with Imogen, she’s often seeking the role of comforter, which she does very well. She’s beyond attentive to imogen, seeking to provide her comfort even before she’s had a chance to ask, yet any conversation over her own history is waved away, downplayed, or even delighted in. Given her devotion to imogen, it makes sense that the first time we do see her in need of comfort and advice from others, it’s over something symbolic of her broken relationship with imogen. And while it’s definitely a serious character moment for her, developmentally, it was still played up for comedy much of the time by Marisha. But now? God, I don’t think we’ve ever seen her feel so small. She’s spent an entire campaign dancing around the topic of her death with indifference at best, and delight at worst. She waves off the fact that her killer lives in her head, shrugs like it’s nothing more than an annoying roommate. And obviously, the situation with the shattered rock changed a lot! But after the bubbly, delightedly blasé-about-death laudna that we’ve grown to know, it’s almost surreal to finally see her let it sink in. Delilah’s words aren’t just words anymore. Her death isn’t just a story to tell. It matters that she was alive, once, and she cares enough to fear it didn’t

Goddd and just the gentleness with which vex treats laudna. the immediacy in her desire to help them that all but betrays the sorrow and the guilt at this revelation. the offering up of gold and diamonds and weapons without hesitation to a cause she readily shares. a cause that will not be shaken even as an old haunt makes her presence known. the gentle taking of this ghost into her lap, tracing torn ears cuffed with gold like an attempt to piece back fragile china. a close-up look into lengths of abuse this girl was put through, and all to send a message she’d only ever see from afar. vile, pointless cruelty. 

but the love this world has for laudna is not held by the woman in her head, no matter what she whispers. it is in the blood and sweat and tears of those would stop at nothing to get her back, and the sorrow of helpless strangers who are not so helpless now. past the cruelty of existence there is kindness still, and it fights to win her back.

I don’t think words can describe how utterly OBSESSED I am with the attention to detail in this show and how well they utilize visual storytelling. not just with the main cast and supporting characters either!!

like pardon the shitty phone photos but LOOK!! the little pigs! the horse reaching for a nuzzle into its person! The woman with the stubborn donkey! how every design, tho simple, is unique! This is ONE little scene! they didn’t have to go so hard but they did!!
