ho imparato oggi dalla radio che cos'è la sevdalinka, o sevda, o sevdah: musica popolare di tradizione bosniaca; i pezzi di sevdalinka parlano di amori impossibili, non corrisposti o per altre ragioni non realizzabili o mai nati. il nome verrebbe dal turco sevda / arabo sawda = bile nera, melancolia - che secondo la medicina antica è quell'umore legato ad un senso di mancanza, lontananza, malinconia per qualcosa o qualcuno.

che a me suona tanto simile alla saudade - quel sentimento di distanza e perdita provato dagli esploratori portoghesi che navigavano gli oceani. só que infelizmente parece que saudade não tem nada a ver com la bile nera, piuttosto con soledade, da solitas, atis = solitudine; o forse, secondo l'etimo popolare, con sau/sal = sale (rimando/metonimia per oceano, eu acho)

Well, I got really sad last night when I realized that nothing is ever going to happen between me and my crush because she's still really into her ex (even more than I'm into mine), but surprisingly, I haven't gone full incel or depression mode.
