Thunderstorm cuddles ⛈💕

Imagine...

It's one of those sultry summer nights, somewhere in the middle of July.

You've just fallen asleep in bed, cuddled up next to your f/o despite how warm the room is.

You suddenly wake up from a loud bang from outside the window.

"Hey, babe?" you whisper with a racing heart. They grunt and turn in bed, still asleep. Another bang can be heard, followed by a flash which lights up the night sky. Rain is smattering against the window and the loud bangs caused by thunder makes the room vibrate.

"Babe!" you hiss. Your f/o wakes up.

"What is it-" They hear the thunderstorm outside. "What? Are you scared?"

"...No"

"Then why did you wake me up?"

"Because-" Lightning strikes again and this time your f/o flinches.

When the power goes off, they're practically squeezing your hand. You chuckle

"Yea? Who's scared now?"

Both being too scared - yet fascinated - by the thunder to sleep, you sit by the window and look at the storm outside.

You both hold onto each other, maybe tell each other scary stories and giggle at each others ractions to the sudden thunder strikes.

When the storm finally passes one hour later and the power goes back on, you lay on bed together and listen to the rain.

You fall back asleep, safe in each others arms.

Creating self ship work is not a waste of time or talent. If it brings you joy it will never be a waste. It helps us explore our creativity and comfort us. For artists it helps expand your drawing skills. For writers it teaches you how to write for different characters. For both it teaches us how to explore different relationships and dynamics of characters we enjoy. And to those who just use self shipping for coping, you’re allowed to find comfort in something that distracts you from your everyday life. You’re allowed to do things just because you want to. And you don’t have to justify your decisions to anybody. Cultivate a life that brings you happiness. Our lives may not always turn out the way we want it to be and sometimes our creativity is our only outlet, and that’s okay, but it is still your life and you should make it as comfortable as possible for yourself. So please never stop creating things you love.
