Serial killers coming of age is appealing to…??
Over adult beverages a group of people casually debated the moral and artistic implications of films that celebrate violence, cruelty, or human depravity in service of entertainment and financial gains. Intense. The central focus of the discussion was not B&A so much as the currently popular Dahmer series, although Guadanigno’s film and the remake of Interview with the Vampire were mentioned tangentially, and negatively. The core issue emerging early on was that serial killers are unworthy of attention for multiple reasons. Romanticizing violence and humanizing merciless murderers makes sense…how? To whom? No matter how much you like a film star or a director, do you really want to support a movie that depicts asocial, inhumane behavior in any way other than repulsive and reprehensible? That was the question we struggled with. Consensus was elusive but the majority, including serious cinephiles, admitted having queasy, serious misgivings about films presenting human evil and depravity sympathetically. My posts are usually ignored by Charmies, but thought I would share this experience in hopes that it might shed more light than create heat. I’d love to hear what you think

Book Review: Light From the Grave by Sara Dobie Bauer
As a reviewer who occasionally reads and reviews her friends’ books, this can result in the peculiar scenario of writing about how much I loved a story that evolved from the grief experienced by a person I care for. Though there is a romance through-line to this book, the true themes involve how the two characters develop not as they recover from their grief, but as it continues to be a living…

Rating: 5🌈 What a stunner! Sara Dobie Bauer’s recent release, Light from the Grave is such fabulous cornucopia of paranormal elements of powerful magical families, beautifully crafted characters textured with layers of darkness, grief, and death, set into the mossy, old southern landscape of Charleston, South Carolina. Bauer’s plot is a thriller of horrifying beauty. I was immediately entranced…

I know you're all screaming for Chapter 3 of "Luck of the Not-Irish," but in the meantime, I wanted to let you know my new novel came out today.
As some of you know, "Fate of the Moon" is based on a Charmie fan fiction, but there are some serious plot changes this time around. It's still Armie and Timmy, though, just with different names.
Check it out for some veiled Charmie love today ha >> https://www.amazon.com/Fate-Moon-Sara-Dobie-Bauer-ebook/dp/B0BRVXBBV4/

Thanks for the tag @winderlylandchime @eusuntgratie @bethespark 😘😘😘
last song - angels fly by louis tomlinson. I've had his album on repeat in the car (an actual cd! 😂) and I think this was probably the last song on it I listened to.
last show - last show I finished was Wednesday. Took me a couple episodes to get into it but i ended up loving it.
last movie - the second Enola Holmes movie. Very cute!
currently watching - my sister's dog pace around her living room. In terms of TV, I just started love and anarchy.
currently reading - physical book: the escape trilogy by sara dobie bauer; fic: king and lionheart by thehoyden (along with like 5 others); audiobook: a mage's guide to human familiars by aj sherwood.
current obsession: oh god. My nephew I guess? And maybe a teeny tiny bit hockey? And skating? 😬😂
tagging whoever hasn't done this yet who wants to! ❤️

After a careful reading I am very interested in seeing fandom responses to what I think of as GQ Timmy Chalamet, a persona created in collaboration with the author of the three articles that magazine has run on our guy, accompanying cover and extensive photo shoots. Much to be intrigued by in the piece and some of it may disappoint or alarm even the most stalwart fans. I have some thoughts on several topics, but will need more reflection before sharing them. What is your take on the piece?

Book Review: Fate of the Moon by Sara Dobie Bauer
For readers who have not read “omegaverse” fiction before, this book is a well-crafted introduction to this intriguing subgenre. Bauer provides the reader with a brief but excellent primer on the intricacies of this world (werewolves, in this case) couched in the necessary description of Shay’s immediate circumstances. While not all takes on this type of world are the same, Bauer leans heavily…
