Doodling around in Procreate~. Because I'm 100% too lazy to copy the line art onto better paper~.
Unlocked the Stave I wanted and love hunting like that. :D Can't get more heretic than a Paladin turning to magic and forbidden Glyphs to fight those who did the same~! <3 Love Salt and Sacrifice~

Salt and Sacrifice and Runic Arts (and some context about weapon skills in Souls games)
I’ve returned to the world of Salt and Sacrifice. The game got some free DLC, and that spilled into a fresh play through, specialising in two handers (think Souls game Ultra Greatswords). No idea why it has taken so long, but I’ve finally got around to doing the big sword run of Salt and Sacrifice. I had a lot of fun. In large part because of the combat, and the Runic Arts that help to bolster…

2 and 28 for the OC ask 👀
2. Do you have a personal favourite among your OCs?
Currently divided between the two characters I think about the most: Tris and Ammar. Would it be surprising if I said they both 'belong' to certain games' universes?
Tris started as a Bloodborne oc, to eventually claim the title of the last runemaster. Right now they're all over the soulsborne verses in rp (except for demon's souls and sekiro, they briefly made an appearance in Elden Ring too in a short scene).
Ammar is inspired by the playable character in the game Salt and Sacrifice, but slowly got a story and a world to work with, although I'm still very much entertaining their world of origin and writing. They started as someone seeking to rid the world of the gods' intervention, which later morphed into trying to please one specific god so that it would leave them alone. That metamorphosis of beliefs is precisely what drives them to become one of the most accomplished members of the Inquisition, who understands its true purpose: to create and offer sacrifices.
28. Your most dangerous OC?
Anho, they have no competition. An ascended tyrant who got the taste of godhood and decided it was too good to be shared with others, and made the world into an immortality-producing machine, in exchange for its sun.
There's not a single redeeming quality about them worth mentioning, and no character traits or traumas ever excuse the hardships and terror they brought to their very own world, if only they'd stay a god forever.
Anho also constitutes as the most powerful oc: a deity of perception, existing only where the mind wanders.

In cicak has a lot to do news: I started salt and sacrifice and it's so so good and it's entirely why my flat still isn't painted. It's like £13 on ps store and I super recommend it if you like 2d soulslikes, which I normally don't! But it's got a lot more of a gentle learning curve than salt and sanctuary did and also a lot more of the good doubling back and going into more areas, so it's probably more a metroidvania? Idk but the music slaps and in the hub world there's both a cat AND a moose you can pet.

After about 20 hours I finally finished Salt and Sacrifice. A decent amount of hours for an indie game, but I did do a little bit of mage farming so that also took time. To me the game was a mixed bag, but I could sum it up with these words: disappointing, but fun! How is a game both disappointing and fun? Well let me tell you.
The game disappointed me in several ways. The huge changes to the formula didn’t bother me too much, but I hated that the big open world was gone and replaced by smaller but condensed levels. Even though the levels themselves have metroidvania style level design, I just always prefer a cohesive world to a level based one. The game was also extremely unbalanced when it came out. Enemies and bosses could stunlock you to death, or even worse “juggle” you. Juggling is when an enemy hits your character repeatedly in the air and you bounce up and down. You could go from full health to zero while being unable to do anything, you lost all control of your character. This has been addressed in the latest patch and feels a bit better now.
There are also some mage fights that don’t feel well designed at all. Some of them almost never stop attacking and have hard to avoid moves that will kill you instantly if you get caught in them. On some mages beating them felt like I got lucky instead of overcoming a challenge. There are also some really strange design decisions like now you have to collect health pickups as they’re limited. When you return to the main hub to level and go back you always spawn at the start of the level, even though there are shortcuts you still have to run around pointlessly. I don’t get why we can’t select the obelisk we spawn at. This is just a me thing, but one thing I hated too was when enemies would interrupt your momentum by shooting you midair and you’d just fall down. Even worse when they put infinitely chasing ranged enemies in the middle of a goddamn platforming challenge. Why? Just to piss the player off? Oh and one last thing: fuck enemies that send you flying across the screen with their attacks.
As you can see, I had a lot of gripes and you wouldn’t be wrong in thinking that I absolutely abhor this game. But that’s not true, because against all odds I somewhat enjoyed my experience. The games biggest change to the formula are the mages and the hunting of them. And I really enjoyed it! Even though some mages pissed me the fuck off I always loved encountering a new one and learning the fight. After beating the mage it was so exciting to go back to the hub and see what cool new gear you could craft, Monster Hunter style! I really got into mage hunting and farmed several mages for their armor and weapons. The weird thing is that this game seems to prefer light armor, but thankfully I did something different and did my playthrough as a light armor wearing DEX character. I felt very rewarded for beating each mage.
The games art style and atmosphere were superb, even though most areas felt faintly familiar. Most areas seemed to have very similar themes to the previous game. I also loved the visual designs of the mages, some of them look so badass. Even though the world is segmented, it was still a bit fun to explore the areas. Although most of the stuff you found in the levels were useless compared to the mage gear. But the levels certainly had their spirit! If I had to pick a favorite I’d say either the final level (for the visuals) or the mountaintops temple.
I did very little online play, but the small amount I did seemed pretty fun. And you seem to get connected to other players quite often. I was even invaded once and some guy came to help me, it was a pleasant experience. If this game takes off the online space could become big. A lot of people say this game is 100% more fun in co-op than solo.
So yeah. Salt and Sacrifice wasn’t really the sequel I was expecting or wanting. I found out that it was more Monster Hunter like on release day and felt a bit saddened by it, but it is no fault of the developers. I should have read up about the game, I only ever saw the announcement trailer and assumed things. For what it is, it’s a fun game and the devs are working hard to improve it. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll get a proper souls-like open world metroidvania game from Ska Studios. What a mouthful that was! The game gets a I hate mages so much you wouldn’t believe OUT OF are we the bad guys?
