Brandon Rolando advances the ball in nn 8-0 win on April 11, 2021 I made it out to WWT Soccer Park on Sunday to take in a pair of STLFC Academy matches. Stefan noted that the players had all just returned from a two week Spring…

Congratulations to Jack Maher, chosen by Nashville FC as the second pick in the MLS Draft today.
Jack first earned attention when he participated in the Boys ODP Interregionals in 2012 while representing what was then SLSG Metro. His Metro U14 boys team that included Ben Huels (SLU) and Wan Kuzain Wan Kamal (Sporting KC) went on to win the NPL National title. He went on to be called into the U18 YNT in 2015, whom he played for seven more times along with a U20 MNT call up in 2018. He was the first STLFC Academy player to earn minutes with the first team in 2016. Check out the Jack Maher bio page I maintain.
Maher, a 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men’s Second Team All-American, has compiled United Soccer Coaches All-North Region, a unanimous first team All-Big Ten, Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the Big Ten Tournament, and All-Big Ten Tournament Team laurels this postseason. Maher anchored the Indiana defense with 22 starts along the defensive back line. The Hoosiers conceded only 16 goals in 22 matches and only one goal in five postseason matches during the ’19 season. Maher tallied 10 points (three goals, four assists) for the Hoosiers and netted two game-winning tallies this season, a golden goal against UCLA and a 28th minute goal from the spot at Michigan State.

Chris Bruch, Jack Lynn, Aedan Stanley and Jacob Bernsen celebrate Stanley’s goal against Vardar on November 4, 2017
The 2017 Nike International Friendlies and U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase will take place at Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Florida from Nov. 30-Dec. 11. Before then, the St. Louis FC Academy boys will wrap up their Fall season at home, hosting the Minnesota Thunder on Saturday.
The U18/19 boys sit in first place in the Mid-America Division and will be looking to solidify that spot with a win over the 8th place MN Thunder. The U16/17’s in 7th could use a win against 4th place Minnesota and the U15 boys sit just outside the Wildcard zone at the moment, facing a team in the bottom half. I’ve got the schedules as well as season summaries for the boys below, as well as the current College Commitments.
In the 15th edition of the Men’s Nike Friendlies for the Under-17 Men’s National Team, the USA will take on its counterparts from Brazil, England and Netherlands. The tournament will feature players born in the year 2002 or after whose goal is to represent their countries at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup. With Josh Sargent sitting out the MNT friendly due to a hip flexor, it may be his opportunity to get some final training before heading to Werder Bremen in 2018.
Photos can be found here > STLFC Academy Soccer galleries including the U15 and U16/17 boys against Crew Wolves on September 30th and the U18/19 boys win against Vardar two weeks ago.
