Adrenaline was running high even after the Fireball touched down on Ajan Kloss, and relief washed over Kaz as he clambered out of the ship and touched down on the soil. It took almost no time at all for those from the Colossus-- the Aces, Tam and himself-- to gravitate towards each other in the moment of celebration that enveloped the air. They’d done it-- they’d managed to take out at least a chunk of the threat.

Amidst the chaos of the aftermath-- the comedown and realization slowly leading towards energy fizzling down to something more manageable, Kaz hadn’t been aware that Poe had approached him until the older man was already tapping his shoulder-- then again, he’d figured something had to have been happening off the glance Tam and Torra had shared. The touch startled him into jumping and whirling around, but the confusion didn’t last for too long.

     “Poe!” He’d already known Poe had made it through the battle, having caught sight of him meeting up with his friends earlier but even with that knowledge and the dissipating energy, Kaz couldn’t keep himself from throwing his arms around the man in relief, “We did it-- we really did it.”
