I’m guessing you mean the one from Turned? Since Only Human happens after the MW2 campaign.

You met them a few weeks after being contracted into TF-141, signing NDAs after NDAs before actually signing your contract. Laswell and Price were clear on the fact that end thing that went on during missions were to stay confidential —classified, especially with the TF being comprised of hybrids, some from UK, an American, a Russian and a ULF commander.

You knew they heads were General Shepherd and CIA station chief Kate Laswell, with missions spearheaded by Captain John Price, a dragon hybrid, and Lieutenant Riley, the wraith, as the second in command. They’re an extremely decorated TF, with a reputation to back up their decisions and badges. You were another sergeant, human in genetics and appearance, with little to talk about apart from your experience in silent infiltration, trained in hand-to-hand combat with a knife than utilizing a gun. You were taught to fight dirty, using what you could to win, a knife, a broken bottle or the sharp end of a broken plank, you were a stealthy killer, an assassin of sorts.

You’ve only heard of Shadow Company, word of mouth to ear with good things about them, how powerful and tight knit the PMC was. You weren’t surprised to hear that they worked closely with 141 and its allies, but you were surprised that they shared banter and seemed on a good foot. Especially Graves, the vampire and master of all his thralls, who started most conversation with a quick quip or smug remark.

It even shocked you how friendly he was towards you, standing close with a hand on your shoulder, his rugged face smiling down at your, confident and comforting. His grin was teasing, flashing his fangs so openly around you. He’d throw a few taunts hidden under praises: “Look at the pretty neck, soft skin and perfect. Bet you’re sweet, ain’t ya, sweetheart?”

Graves was also brutally honest, speaking his mind about decisions and choices made by others and even criticizing his men when they messed up. He controlled them, mind and body, reborn from his blood and remade in his expectations, but they worked in perfect rhythm, working as if they were one cell.

So, when their leader made a move on you, the rest did, often sitting beside you, keeping a hand on you, hungry for any physical touch or a whiff of your blood, the smell of your ichor that exhumed from your uncovered skin: your neck and your wrists. They would flash their fangs, gleaming under the white light of the mess hall, a threat that kept your surrounded and trapped between them.

Although they were friendly whenever you worked with Shadow Company, the constant attention and hungry, red eyes had made you somewhat uncomfortable, so much so that the rest of the TF cued in on it. Soap would stick to your side, hackles raised and eyes narrowed when some Shadows would approach you, being too handsy with you. If you weren’t with Soap, Gaz would bring you to his side with a wing, stretched behind to cover you in a protective shield to deter the thralls. The true deterrent was Ghost, looming behind you in his dark glory, growling and glaring at anyone who approached you without even touching you or standing too close. Price worked well, they wouldn’t bother the captain because they feared fire, because an angry dragon was a slow and painful death.

But that never stopped Graves from approaching you, tongue running over his lower lip and over the sharpness of his fang, red eyes gleaming brightly and looking handsome with his sun-kissed skin, blonde hair and southern accent, the sexy drawl of his words.

“Be a doll and c’m’here, won’t you?”

But other than that, psychological manipulation is one of the main things you’d have to endure.

Endless gaslighting and lies.he’ll tell you just enough truths to keep you in line but other than that, its all lies. And you don’t even know.

Don’t want to do something? He’ll talk you into it. Make you think it was your idea all a long and youre such an absolute genius for coming up with it!

Its that easy for him. Like eating a croissant!

And his ability,how would he use that against you?

Well now,he wouldn’t be able to actually use it per se, but he could definitely use it to keep you in line!

First he’ll make sure you see how easily he can kill with just a touch,then anytime you stepout of line,he’ll just step towards you menacingly and back you into a corner before ghosting his fingers over your face.

Letting you know that one wrong move could be fatal and that he was in control here. And he was always going to be.

If his darling would try ctrl+alt+deleting themselves, no they wouldn’t!

He isn’t stupid! Theres nothing! That  could be used as such in your little apartment (or wherever he’s chosen to keep you for that day/time period)

But if you are dangerously close to your limit and becoming an empty husk of who you were before,then he’l make a decision.

Does he let you meet your demise,whether that be mercifully or not would depend on him of corse, or would he change to make you live just a little longer?

If it’s the former he either leans in for a kiss and places his hand on your cheek,activating his ability,or if he’s feelin a little goofy,then he asks nikolai to do it or cooks something up himself. Something entertaining enough to be worth his time of course! After all,he’s a very busy rat.

But if it’s the latter then he showers you with love and comfort and no of course none of that bad stuff was real! Youre just imagining it myska!

He makes life so unbelievably perfect and once youre yourself again he lets the façade fall and begins to break you again.

And now that youre fully at his mercy again,practically his dog, he can deal he most damage. And that obviously means the most fun, of course~

A Harder Road - Johannes Cabal | gen | pg | 7.8k

A pastiche of Nikolai Gogol's Dead Souls which means that this fic has an audience of like. Three. You have to be in it for the silly narration, the idea of being able to buy souls through 19th CE Russian bureaucracy, and brotherly hate. But I'm really pleased with how this one turned out given the life circumstances I was in at the time, and it always makes me happy to look back on. If nothing else, highly recommend Dead Souls itself.

Just Like Ice on the Dune - Baseball RPF | gen | pg | 26.5k

Tim Lincecum and Hector Sanchez do magic together and win the world series. Baseball fandom (writing fic or watching games) is weird bc you get very into these players who then retire and disappear, but I've kept a soft spot for these two. This is another one from my grad school misery period - I think I'm prouder of these bc they were very hard won haha. This fic totally consumed my December and I almost missed the Yuletide deadline but I had tons of fun writing about Baseball superstitions.

At an Rp with my friend Liz the story already shown in the series has certain changes, I'm not going to reveal all because surprise but for first I'll give you: Bradley Bun yong-Kim Co-Protagonist of the Au (As a reference Liz was undecided between Pacster and Bradley to take Jake Wheeler role).

Bradley is a Mixed race (Korean/Russian) intersex boy who is constantly bullied and sexually harassed by some students because of an incident he had with a classmate who found him naked, since his first week at School he is found and helped by Pacster Wheeler, becoming into very good friends. Also having a crush on Skeebo.

Brad dreams in becoming into a Independent artist and make many NSFW comics (Gore or/and you know what), he carries a Diary where he expresses his feelings and makes some scribbles (Many of them being a little dirty).

He lives only with his sister Mitzy who sadly hides a very dark secret.

Northeastern Indian English accent will sound similar to Bhutanese people. Their language group is Sino-Indian /Sino-Tibetan.

So she has a slight Pahari accent mixed with a British English accent.

He has whatever tf accent they have in Vesuvia. But in my mind he sounds West Coast American.

In modern au I hc that Erden is from Kazakhstan. His accent normally doesn't show but he has a bit of a strong accent on “k”, “ZH” and “Kh” sounds. His kazakh accent shows more if he speaks Russian.

Argylle (2024) but it’s a Viktuuri AU

Yuuri is a wildly successful spy novelist working on his latest Eros book but his publisher doesn’t like the ending of the manuscript so now he’s in a shame spiral.

This super hot guy on the train compliments him and seems weirdly emotional about his dog’s name? But oh shit now he’s involved in an actual espionage plot and things just keeps getting crazier! Hot guy is actually a Russian spy??? And he says Yuuri has been predicting real life espionage events with his writing????? Yuuri has no idea wtf is going on and he is definitely not cut out to be a spy but he’s been swept up in this whole thing and now he’s part of it.

Spoilers for the movie below

Yuuri thinks he can trust Viktor until he overhears him talking about "ending this"?!? So he nopes tf out of there and reaches out to his friend (not sure who this should be). But when he gets there Viktor shows up and shoots his friend and PLOT TWIST it turns out that person was working w/ the bad guys to implant the false memories of Yuuri's life and cover up his past as a spy.

Yuuri starts remembering that oh yeah he and Viktor used to be The Badass Spy Couple and he's starting to feel those feelings again. But PLOT TWIST past Yuuri was working both sides and now he has to shoot Viktor to keep his cover and ultimately take down the bad guys. But don't worry he's ridiculously overpowered and manages to shoot Viktor just the right way so that it barely misses his heart but looks fatal.

The scene where they take down the bad guys by strapping knives to their shoes and skating through the oil to absolutely demolish everyone can stay the same because it is amazing.

TFP Russian AU: Eastern European Sci-Fi Media and the Influence on Science Fiction in the West

World Building is Fun: Research is Good 

I like to do a lot of cultural and media history research to establish a suitable in-universe family of design concepts that inform the development of the AU world, relative to the themes or inspiration overall for any given AU. 

As the TFP Russian AU is all about “what if the bots landed in Russia when they came to Earth instead of America”, obviously I’ve been doing tons of research into Russian social history, geography, culture, and of course, media! 

For my TFP Russian AU, @milabazal2002​ and @everdino​ have been extremely kind and patient with me, and have really helped me develop specific details that I would be unable to grasp myself as someone who isn’t from the region-- And I am very thankful for their involvement and support! :) <3

The Invention of Sci-Fi: Origins of the Genre 

For an idea of why I’m looking at these films for inspiration for this AU, it is important to understand just how influential Eastern European sci-fi has been to the genre overall. 

While the actual origins of sci-fi as a popular genre are generally attributed to Victorian English and French literature, specifically HG Wells and Jules Verne, modern (current) audiences actually tend to interpret Wells and Verne motifs more as Steampunk genre material, which is itself a fairly recent genre or sub-genre delineation. 

What most consider currently to be Science Fiction in terms of design, overall theme, etc. is derived primarily from various Eastern European works, primarily those produced from the Edwardian era through to the late 1970s. 

These Eastern European concepts of sci-fi were heavily influential on the West.

For example, Kubrick based many design elements in 2001: A Space Odyssey off of the previous 1957 Soviet film Дорога к звёздам (Road to the Stars), especially the design of the space station-- Which also later influenced space station designs in other media, such as Terok Nor in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine! 

Compare the station designs below, with the original Soviet 1950s on the left, and the American 1960s on the right; Both feature the “ladder ring” design: 

I’ll keep this as short as I can, but there is so much to cover that I am only able to touch on a few key examples here. 

1) The Origin of Robots and Robot Designs: Universal Robots and Transformers 

The word “robot” comes from  the Czech playwright K. Čapek's  R.U.R. ‘Rossum's Universal Robots’ (1920). 

“Robot” is derived not directly from Czech, but from Old Slavonic/Proto Slavonic: The word “robota”, often translated as meaning servitude/indentured work or forced labour. Sometimes it was/is used to imply wage slavery or manual labour, specifically. 

The costume designs in this play/movie are beyond fantastic, and became formative influences in robot depictions and designs in media.

You can see the design influence in Transformers in several places as well, but I like to focus on certain helm designs as a particularly good example.

Check out these R.U.R. characters next to G1 Powerglide and Kup for a good comparison of helm designs! 

With Powerglide, you can see the influence of the “bullet” type helmet on the left, which was common in Art Deco, Constructivist, and Futurist sci-fi designs of the time. It was a design associated with speed, strength, and the cutting edge modern era of industrial technology. 

For Kup, if you just take out a middle section of the cylindrical helmets on the left and add a badge in the middle with some audial receptors, you have Kup’s helm design almost exactly.  

The fact that Megatron in G1 is often called “buckethead” comes not just from the metallic bucket-like look of his helm design, but because metal bucket helmets were often made for robot or robotic/cyborg characters in classic sci-fi, and it became an instantly recognisable design element!  

In IDW Transformers, Rossum’s Trinity is named after the play which brought the word “robot” into the common cultural lexicon. 

And of course, there is the Decepticon Rossum himself, as well! 

I love that they referenced Rossum directly in-canon. Nice work, JRO! :) 

2) Russian Futurist and Constructivist Design is the Established Look of the Future and Far Away Worlds 

The first science fiction feature film ever made was the Russian production Аэли́та (Aelita, 1924), which informed sci-fi visuals for decades and still does. 

We can see architectural Art Deco/Futurist design in Aelita, which became the established standard for creating other-worldly looking sets and backgrounds.

Compare this set model from Aelita, with a G1 depiction of Cybertron: 

Sweeping geometrics, smoothed surfaces with arches and Constructivist/Futurist design elements still persist in the public mind as a common concept of what alien worlds look and feel like. 

3) Aelita = Elita-One! 

The headdresses worn in Aelita by characters on another world to visually distinguish them from characters in scenes on Earth influenced a lot of character and costume design for the genre. 

We see this in so many franchises, including Star Wars (Princess Amidala).

Compare Aelita (1924) to Elita-One below, for an example of how geometric elements in early Eastern European sci-fi costume design continue to be utilised as distinct mechanical or futuristic character design elements. 

I also like how Aelita and Elita-One both have matching eyebrows, too! :)

it’s easier for him to teach for majors because the students can follow his ramblings better

he teaches upper level math courses and usually only has like three students in those classes

he’ll sit up on his desk and debate with the students for the entire hour about the riemann hypothesis

he gets excited because the students are just as enthusiastic as he is

he is two extremes

he either shows up to his classroom like a half hour early and writes out all his notes on the board so that when the students come in, he can go right into lecture

or he’ll show up two minutes before class starts with his hair disheveled, his tie undone and his expression glazed over and just be like “listen up i woke up late and just downed an entire pot of coffee i brewed with several cans of monster energy—i don’t exist on this dimension anymore”

on those days, he lets his students work on other projects for other classes because he knows it’s not fair to ask his students to focus if he’s not

he helps them with their homework

penelope brings him lunch sometimes to make sure he’s eating

he appreciates it a lot because between lesson plans and grading, he sometimes forgets to eat

he’s absolutely the youngest prof on campus

sometimes even his students are older than he is

but everyone addresses him correctly and respects him bc he’s really chill

his office is a disorganized mess

she really has a passion for teaching and learning about human psychology

(she may have started to become interested in psychology bc her sister was in the psch honors course before she died)

she comes across as a little hostile and unapproachable tbh

but she’s young

and she’s attractive

and she’s not conveniently what people think a professor looks like

she’ll respect her students if they respect her

she didn’t graduate the top of her class and work her ass off for the degree to not be respected

if there’s any inappropriate comments aimmed towards her or anyone in the class, she kicks the aggressor out immediately

she stands at the front of the room and lectures for the beginning part of the semester

once she’s built a good rapport with her students (and vise versa), she becomes more chill

she’ll sit on the edge of her desk and encourage discussion rather than following a book or a set plan

(she finds it’s more interesting that way anyway)

sometimes her students will show up ten minutes before class starts just to talk with her once they’re comfortable with her

she always answers her emails students send her (queen shit tbh 👑)

some kids in the psych major course playfully call her “mom” because she always asks them how they’re doing and about their week

(she hasn’t decided how she feels about it, but she also lets it slide)

always wears pants suits but cuffs the sleeves to the jackets

her office always smells like eucalyptus because she has a small mist diffuser plugged in

she also has a small fish tank with a beta fish inside (its the appropriate size too!!)

her desk is very organized and clean!!

there’s a small couch in her office and her door is always open

teaches three languages, both for majors and non majors

spanish, french and russian

(she’s also quite fluent in arabic and italian and can hold her own if she’s speaking in german or mandarin, but the students don’t need to know that)

she’s actually very intimidating lmao

students are so scared of her 😭

she’s serious af

(she smiles in class sometimes though!!)

(besides, she’s only serious inside the classroom)

(outside the classroom, she might even be as approachable as penelope)

teaches history classes

but like modern history

from like 1940s to present

he refuses to follow most western history books bc they’re not accurate like at all

in his first year of teaching, the dean of his department made him use a book and he hated every second of it

how accurate could the information be if they portray king tut as a white guy???

he graduated under one of the best historians in the country

he also traveled a lot after he graduated and met a lot of people that had first hand experience with major historical events

that’s really what he bases his teachings off of—first hand experiences and encounters

every two weeks or so, he’ll invite in guest speakers to his classes to talk about what they went through (depending on his lesson plans)

that’s how he likes to teach and learn (bc he always loves to learn new things!!)

this is random, but also he is the type of professor to randomly box jump up onto a desk

he also sits in chairs backwards and has a more laid back style to teaching

his exams are based on what the students can learn from history rather than the information itself

he’s always dressed super casual!!

solid color, short sleeve button ups are a favorite!! (no tie)

he gets along with all the students

he’ll talk to the athletes about their games but sound just as enthusiastic and genuine talking with students who are majors in fine arts about their projects

even if she’s a pain in his ass 99% of the time, he likes that she sticks around and that he can trust her

actually he’s the only one besides maybe reid i can see being a criminology professor

is a retired fbi agent

and successful author

so like that hasn’t changed from canon

but because he doesn’t work for the fbi anymore, he has absolutely no chill and tells all secrets

he’ll be like

talking to his class about a case he worked on in ‘83

and be halfway talking about details of cases that were supposed to be confidential

he’ll pause and go “oops” but keep talking lmaooo

penelope actually never made him a sculpture

instead she made him a coffee mug she made on the wheel and glazed herself!! (she even made her own glaze bc she’s extra like that)

carved on the side is “world’s best italian dad”

(he loves it so much though and proudly accepts his title)

his voice kept changing in volume every few words because of him facing the wall and then a few moments later facing the classroom

Oh gods, where to begin. I remember stumbling upon this one by chance more than ten years ago and having my mind blown away after finishing it. Viktor’s daemon is Makkachin obvi. In canon Makkachin’s gender is not revealed, but I would headcanon Makkachin as a girl daemon.

The easy corollary is that Yuuri’s daemon is Vicchan. TFW when you casually name a part of your soul after your idol and gay crush (°◇°) 

My view is that Vicchan would be a male daemon, meaning Yuuri is one of the few with a same-sex daemon. Yuuri eventually starts hiding Vicchan, he doesn’t want the attention from the press and when he gets close enough to competing with Viktor, he doesn’t want it to be so obvious that their daemons are two incredibly similar poodles. Vicchan is always rinkside hidden in a black and blue Mizuno backpack with his eyes peeking out, constantly settled near Celestino and even carried to the kiss and cry so Yuuri can be more comfortable.

That said, Yuri would def. struggle with himself and want his daemon to be something huge and masculine, ideally a Siberian tiger. He constantly tries to get his daemon to shift to that, but it’s not comfortable at all to shift into something that doesn’t feel natural. Viktor tries to remind him that Stephane Lambiel’s daemon is a fucking ladybug. 

Figure skaters are renowned for having discipline as their daemons often have to be a rink length’s away from them for a routine, a length that most people would find unbearable. In adolescence, sometimes the daemons have to walk along the rails or run to either side to make sure they are in less pain from being apart from their human, but this detracts from the program’s execution. Judges do not formally ding a skater for it until Seniors. Once people get older, they learn to control the distance and practice for it, but it is hard.

In Juniors, Viktor was one of the first people to incorporate his daemon as a winged creature following him through his routine. His daemon has flown near him as a luna moth, dove, and and a swan for his more ethereal programs.

Georgi had his daemon as a raven for one of his more goth programs during his adolescence. Raccoon black eyeliner was necessary duhhh

In Viktor’s initial attempt to seduce Yuuri on his excursion to Hasetsu, Makkachin is hella inappropriate with Vicchan and keeps trying to sidle up, touch noses, and generally be in contact. Viktor thinks, it’s nothing on what happened at the banquet...what gives?!! Makkachin whines and they hold each other while he cries after they’re rejected from sleeping with Yuuri and Vicchan.

Alternatively, an AU where Viktor crosses worlds after executing his first quad flip: Viktor’s daemon is still Makkachin, Yuuri doesn’t have a daemon since his world doesn’t have daemons. 

Their timeline doesn’t sync up, Viktor is only 15 and his puberty is delayed because he’s so thin and on all sorts of Russian performance drugs, and Makkachin can still shift; she is right by him when he performs the jump, as a river warbler, and falls right through the hole with him.

Vicchan is dead, it’s post-GPF in Yuuri’s world. Viktor sees the shrine and says, This was your daemon. Your daemon died? his eyes wide and shining with tears and fright. We don’t have daemons here, Viktor-san, Yuuri reminds him. Viktor looks skeptical. You must have a daemon somewhere, he says stubbornly.

Later, when they are really getting to know each other, Viktor can see Yuuri’s daemon out of the very corner of his eyes, in glimpses. It’s a miniature black poodle that looks very cuddly.

The Viktor from Yuuri’s universe goes missing right around the time that young!Viktor enters it. Yuuri is inconsolable. He somehow thinks it’s his fault, that the universe sent him young Viktor because he’s such a failure and can’t do anything right, lol.

Young Viktor still manages to train him and leaves Yuuri’s world via another quad flip, but not before re-installing Yuuri’s confidence and convincing him to seek out Viktor in this universe. Yuuri posts his version of Stammi Vicino from his own YouTube account by choice as the fic ends.
