This fandom is unhinged, and the marketing team knows it. Why do I say this? Because this isn’t fan art, they’re official merch, they’re duvet covers.
Other fandoms’ marketing departments: let’s make body pillows and blankets featuring our male characters looking cool and tough, maybe showing some chest, but only a little.
TVDINT’s marketing department: Okay, obviously we’re gonna feature Ronald and Draluc, but instead of their typical outfits, let’s put them in the costumes they wore in the credits for the dance-off at the end of season one. Only instead of wearing part of his suit under his, Draluc just has his cravat on and put him in a grass skirt instead. Oh! And make sure, he has his legs crossed in such a way that he’s provocatively showing some thigh, and Ronald needs at least on nip exposed!!!
Oh! And the scene in question? It’s this:
What are they doing? They pooled funds to get a new game console, and they’re having a dance-off to see who gets to use it first. This was their idea. They chose the costumes. That’s just the kind of world they inhabit.
(Also, kudos to the marketing department for being fully aware that Draluc is canonically the skinniest, twiggiest, weakest, scrawniest vampire you’ve ever seen, and just rolling with it and making him look as unhealthily skinny as he is, instead of trying to make him pretty or sexy. This is a guy who dies if you slam a door too hard near him, and I appreciate that he looks it, and also the new knowledge that he does his toenails as well as his fingernails.)
