Dread. Horrible, frightful anxiety. Shaky hands and a heart beating too fast. A whirlwind of uncertainty spirals into what is sure to be a panic attack if left unattended.
Bucky is nervous.
He’s accomplished many things in his life, has been through hell and back, climbed - metaphorically - to the top of Mount Everest, and seen all the beauty - and pain - the world offers.
But no accomplishment, nor any obstacle, could have prepared him for this.
“Buck?”
He snaps his eyes open - not even realizing he’d closed them - and fixates his eyes in front of him. There, standing with a tilted head and confused expression, stands Ezekiel. His right hand is holding the door open while his body leans to the left in a casual, relaxed demeanor, which only seems to further Bucky’s anxiety. Why? He doesn’t know. But it does.
Maybe it’s the secret he’s been keeping, the nearly $8,500 secret currently resting in Bucky’s right pants pocket. He’s opted to wear his nicest jeans and a carefully picked out soft, but not inexpensive, cream-colored sweater. It’s a non-offensive yet homely look, just what he’s going for.
Though maybe he’s put too much thought into his outfit because Ezekiel immediately gives Bucky an inquisitive look, scanning his body as though he feels something is off.
“Not that it’s not cool to see you, but I thought you were supposed to be out of town. Is my sister with you?”
Bucky sucks in a deep breath, his heartbeat quickens, here goes nothing.
“No, she’s with some friends getting lunch, I think. And, technically no. I-I told your sister I was so I could…” Bucky trails off, clearing his throat and wetting his dry lips.
“Can I come in?”
Ezekiel, with his confused expression only deepening, nods slowly, stepping off to the side and allowing Bucky to pass through the threshold of your brother's apartment.
Things are quiet, and a little tense, when he wanders into the living room. Robbie and Lucas have made a home on the couch, laying haphazardly across it as they stare intently at The Lord of the Rings playing on the tv. Though they quickly pause it once they notice Bucky’s presence.
They glance between him and Ezekiel, now standing behind him.
“Hey guys, um. I wanted to… talk to you about something.”
Bucky shuffles nervously, hands clasping together in front of him as he sits precariously in one of the lounge chairs.
All three boys pass a confused, concerned look each others way before setting their gazes on the man’s semi-hunched form.
Everything is once again quiet, tense beyond belief as Bucky struggles to find the right words.
“Look, Bucky, just spit i-“
“I want to marry your sister.”
The atmosphere shifts dramatically, and Bucky’s breathing has stopped almost entirely as your brothers turn to each other once more. A silent conversation passes between them, Bucky’s shaking hand reaching into his pants and pulling it out - a small, black, velvet box. Facing the box towards him, he opens it carefully, showcasing a little less than a dozen simple diamonds forming beautifully intricate patterns around a golden band.
“I love her,” He starts, glancing down at the ring and then lifting his head, gazing at the three boys in front of him - all with blank, neutral expressions.
“And I know that I hurt her, and you still might not fully trust me - and while I know that it was a couple of years ago, I also know how protective you guys are. But, she’s my everything. She’s the love of my life, and while I want nothing more than to be with her even into the afterlife, I know that your opinion is important.”
Bucky pauses, sucking in a few breaths in an attempt to even out his tone.
“As much as she denies it, your judgment, whether good or bad, influences her decisions, big or insignificant. And I know she loves me, but honestly, I… I don’t know if she’d say yes if you didn’t approve of it. I don’t even know if I’d actually ask if you guys would say no.”
Another pause. Another deep breath. His eyelids blink rapidly to prevent the tears that so desperately want to fall down his flushed face at the admission. Because it’s true, he loves you with everything he has. But this is the make-or-break moment, what they have to say is basically determining the rest of Bucky’s life.
“So,” Robbie starts, a little uncertain after a long minute of silence so thick you could slice through it with a blade. “Our opinion is important to you?”
It’s almost as if he’s testing Bucky, guiding him into some sort of trap. But, again, Bucky’s faced hairier situations than this, so he nods resolutely as his eyes travel between the three boys - now all sitting on the couches.
“Yes, it is.”
“Just to clarify,” Lucas glances at Ezekiel and Robbie quickly to gauge their reactions, then clears his throat. “You wouldn’t ask her to marry you if we don’t want you to?”
Again Bucky nods, rubbing one clammy hand over his jean-covered thigh as he mentally forces himself to push the ever growing anxiety to the side so he can get through this conversation.
But then, Robbie throws another question at him, one that Bucky hadn’t actually expected - and he’s gone through what must have been a hundred different fake scenarios to prepare for anything they might throw his way. But this? It catches him off guard, makes his heart constrict in his chest.
“Would you break up with her?”
Bucky has to physically stop the shudder that wants to run through his body. He hasn’t actually planned for the event that they actually would say no. It’s evident by the way he flounders, clearing his throat twice while furrowing his brow as he thinks over what to say.
Would he?
His immediate answer is ‘no’. Of course he wouldn’t break up with you, he loves you too much to let you go. But, then again, if they say no then that says so much about how they feel about him and your relationship. And, truthfully? Bucky doesn’t know if he could live knowing that they don’t want you two to be together in the way Bucky so desperately wants. He doesn’t know how he could go on with having you so close, yet so far.
“Um…”
“Robbie stop.”
Ezekiel’s voice cuts Bucky off, everyone in the room turning to look at his clear exasperation, accompanied with an eye roll.
“Listen, Bucky,” Ezekiel continues. “You’re a good man, a great one, in fact. And… we’ll be honest here and say that what you did is still in the backs of our minds. But…”
He pauses, adding tension to the air, before finally offering Bucky a sly smile.
“I mean it, you’re a good man. And I know - we know - that you love her, and that there probably won’t be anyone else that’ll love her like you do. And, yeah, you’ll have arguments and petty fights, but, if you can promise us, here and now, that you won’t ever hurt her like that again, then I say ‘yes’.”
Bucky’s heart leaps, nearly out of his chest. And he’s surprised he doesn’t get whiplash from how fast he nods.
“I won’t. I swear it upon everything I have, and everything I am.”
Then, Robbie sighs, nodding resolutely. Lucas does the same, offering Bucky a smile as he chimes in with “I say ‘yes’ too, then.”
And now Bucky wants to cry, but this time for a different reason. Because he’s going to ask you to marry him. Your brothers approve of him marrying you. Holy shit, he’s going to ask you to marry him. But he can’t even freak out over that right now, because the way your brothers are looking at him with fond, amused smiles, make him nearly certain you’ll say yes.
“Thank you,” Bucky croaks, voice thick with emotion. “I-I meant it, thank you guys so much. You have no idea what this means to me.”
Someone chuckles, Bucky’s not too sure who. But that doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is that you’re going to spend the rest of your life with him, and his with you.
“I do have one question, though.”
Your brothers stare at him expectantly, Bucky evening out his breath carefully.
“Can you help me figure out how the hell I’m going to do this?”

Willow in the Mob au. (because yes)
her name: Willow Darning
her appearance: is 6'2, has buttercream-yellow skin, short and slightly curly royal azure-blue hair pulled into a lowtail, has her bangs covering her right eye, and is wearing a red button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows, a black bowtie with a white diamond in the center, a black bean vest(that's an actual color, this is the hex code: #001101), obsidian black fingerless gloves, smokey black pants with thin maroon strips on it, and dark scarlet shoes.
does she have any stiches: yes, across her face and down the sides of her arms.
her personality: sweet, silent, smug, secretly protective over everyone, a little chaotic at times, basically half of Sally, a dash of Poppy, a bit of Howdy, and a pinch of any past personality she had.
Her relationship with everyone.
Wally: Sees him as an older brother, respects him, accidentally called him "Ube roll" and apologized multiple times. Wally said it was ok. (he will only allow Willow to call him that now)
Julie: Surprisingly gets along well with her, actively lets her test chemicals on her(she's immune to multiple poisons because of it now), asked about the thing in her closet one time. Never got an answer. (She somehow befriended it-)
Sally: Sees her as a twin sister, chaos buddies, sometimes has the weirdest conversations, Sally caught her singing a female version of the heat miser song one time. Said "It was amazing and illegal at the same time."
Poppy: Cooking companions, Poppy teaches her things from time to time, likes to pet her feathers sometimes, doesn't know how Poppy got in the mob in the first place. (next to Eddie- speaking of)
Eddie: Gets mixed feelings around him, southern brother figure because yes, actively called him "Himbo Haribo", said his shadow sounds so happy yet so sad one time. (No one knows what that means)
Howdy: Unofficial yet official assistant, helps him make drinks sometimes, Howdy's like her unofficial legal guardian, vents to him sometimes. Reviled something that's kept a secret.
Barnaby: Besides Wally, I think, she's aloud to pet him, keeps reminding him to clean the staples from time to time, *MIGHT* have helped him blow something up-, the first time they met she vowed to secretly protect him.
Frank: Is his nearest vent/therapy friend, has to physically *drag* him to bed sometimes, knows that he's gay and responded with "Hi gay, I'm bi." One time when they were alone, Willow slowly looked over to him and said "I know you remember your past. I remember too, but it's only in pieces. Itty bitty chitty chatty bang-bang pieces... but that also means, you know who's truly at fault here." She then denied that ever happened.
the others: She's seen Robbie and Dusty a couple of times, she and Lovely have a love/hate relationship, she's never met Harvy or Mari, she straight up doesn't know that Zach and Besty exist, and she's only heard about the doctor she's never seen him in person.
(I forgot about Home, oh God- *clears throat*)
n e way- She's seen Home, but she's not afraid of him. Not anymore.

jayjoinsta: Baby love me cause I'm playing on the radio – Lana Del Rey
Jayde posted a selfie of herself wearing a white corset top with denim shorts and white slip on shoes. She posted the picture because she knew Matthew would see it. Was she showing him what he was missing? Yes, she was. He had a very difficult conversation with Camila, who told him not to come home. She was so angry with him. How could he be so stupid? He had a family and a baby on the way. Didn’t they mean anything to him?
They meant the world to him. Jayde. She was the woman he had fallen in love with. A woman so beautiful, guys fell in love with her. He understood how frustrating it was not to be able to have her. It wasn’t just her beauty but her magnetic personality. She had flown back to LA after spending the night with Leo. Mike had picked her up at the airport and brought her home.
Anna and Otis were visiting her parents. Like usual, he had to stay home to work. In her room, they laid on her bed. Did she have fun in New York? Yeah, she truly did. She got to meet two new people. Margot Robbie and Jonah Hill. While they were filming, she kept herself busy and out of the way. Did Leo or Matthew tell him what happened? Yeah, Matthew did. He thought better of him. Part of him expected it. At the same time, he wanted to know if he pushed her into doing anything inappropriate.
No. He always told her she had the right to say no. Ok, good. She hated him. Why? Because he left her. He used her for her body and he never truly loved her. Everything he said was a lie. Mike recognized she was splitting. It wasn’t just an end of a relationship. It was abandonment. He was the enemy. She would find a new favorite person and idolize them.
Matthew had a tough decision to make. He had to choose between two women he loved. She only saw him leaving her and her mind made up a story as to why. Mike had sympathy and compassion because he couldn’t imagine what it would be like to fight with his mind. Was he going to leave? No, never. He meant that. She was his best friend. Borderline personality disorder. He wondered what the rest of her life was going to look like. Was she going to get better or worse?
Would she become like her mother and in a care facility? He wanted her to be independent as possible and not have to rely upon others just to do simple tasks. If that ever happened, she had friends who would help take care of her. Did she want to work on music? She shook her head. No, thanks. She was too tired to think about that. Okay. He kissed her forehead.
Matthew was sulking. He did his job but behind the scenes, his heart and mind were somewhere else. Jayde and Camila were gone. He wished he hadn’t thrown Jayde aside. Did he do the right thing? Leo assured him he had. He was forty three. That was too old to be chasing a girl in her twenties. He didn’t like being called ‘old’ but he got his point. His bed had been made – twice and now he had to lie in it. He had one thing left to do and that was to beg Camila for forgiveness.
From: Brad Pitt
To: Jayde Johnson
Subject: Dinner date
The following day, she received confirmation from Brad regarding their date. He had heard about her from Leo. They had been friends since the nineties, when they were first starting out as actors. He was single after having gone through a very public divorce from Jennifer Aniston. Thankfully, they didn’t have any children to fight over custody. He was forty nine years old and wanted children, but she didn’t. Leo had nothing but nice things to say about her.
She’s my little sister. He promised to be nothing but a gentleman to her. They met at a five star restaurant with a dress code. Nobu. She had been there once before and enjoyed the food. The dress code was strict, so she wore a white shirt, black wide legged pants and white tennis shoes. He arrived early and got a table for them.
He shook her hand and introduced himself before they sat down. She looked beautiful. Since she didn’t want to get drunk and make a fool of herself, she ordered a Dry Bonsai. During their meal, they talked about working on a project together. Has she done any acting? No, she hadn’t. He would teach her. Her career was music? Yes. He was interested to hear about it, so she told him how she had been discovered when she was eleven years old.
When he was eleven, he was still in Springfield, Missouri. She had never been there. Where did she grow up? She grew up all over Los Angeles and Agoura Hills. Where was Agoura Hills? It was a suburb about forty five minutes outside of LA. One of the homes she lived in had a beautiful view of the mountains.
After dinner, he invited her back to his hotel room, a four minute drive away. She accepted his invitation. He gave her the room number to his suite. It was better that they weren’t photographed going in together. She completely understood. To give him a head start, she went to use the bathroom before leaving the restaurant. What if they hooked up? She wouldn’t mind. He was a lot older but she didn’t care. It just meant he had more experience than guys her age.
She arrived ten minutes after he did. He opened the door when she knocked and invited her inside. She took off her jacket and placed it on the chair. It was a nice suite. He went over and poured them both a drink before handing it to her. Thank you. They continued talking until they were both a little drunk. He asked if he could kiss her. Yes.
He kissed her lips as she put her hands on his chest. Their bodies were telling them to go ahead. He told her to lie down on the bed, so she did. After running his fingers through his hair, he got on top of her before kissing her again. She was so much younger than him but he didn’t care. What he wanted was her. He wanted to unwrap her and find what she was hiding underneath her clothes. What he found was perfection. His hands touched her bare skin as she opened her legs.
Matthew saw the picture she had posted and he missed her. He imagined her with another man. Whoever he was, he hoped he treated her well. If he didn’t, he would be hearing from him. It was only supposed to be one time to get his obsession over with, but it only made it worse. He missed everything about her. As he sat in his chair, he felt the hand of Jonah on his shoulder.
“She’s not worth it.”
“Yeah? Who are we talking about?”
“That girl who was just here.”
“What did you think of her?”
“She’s a ten out of ten but those girls are usually crazy. Not in a good way.”
“A ten out of ten. I can guarantee you she’s not crazy. Just a little.… mishandled.”
She wasn’t his type. He took a drink from his water bottle, leaving him to think about their conversation. A ten out of ten. He was definitely getting older and he didn’t like to be reminded of that.

Back to Halifax fam! Part three of four. Here comes the angst and a little bit of smut. Enjoy! Rated M (language and sex)
Home Is Not A Place - Part 3: The Mistake
“Caroline…“ Gillian whimpered, her voice far more shaky than Caroline would have expected.
“Yes?“ Caroline hummed against the soft skin at the base of her neck, delighting in the breathless moans and gasps her kisses drew out of her.
“Don’t stop…“ Gillian practically begged, as she arched her body against her.
“How could I…can’t keep my hands off you,“ Caroline growled, tracing lines down her body, to the waistband of her pants.
Gillian bucked her hips to meet her.
Caroline awoke with a start, disoriented, sweaty and frustratingly aroused. As her room slowly came into focus, she realised she had been dreaming. The body pressed to her belonged to her dog Ruth and she rolled away from her.
“For fuck’s sake, Caroline, get your shit together,“ she groaned to herself as she rubbed her face and threw her covers off. She was feeling far too hot, despite the bitter cold outside that the poorly glassed windows barely kept at bay.
Bloody Gillian Greenwood. Caroline stared up at the ceiling, trying to banish the image of Gillian from her mind. Gillian, stripped to her underwear, panting, holding her close… Caroline rubbed her face more firmly, just short of slapping herself. It wasn’t really Gillian’s fault, was it, that she was lying here thinking of her. The sheep farmer was completely oblivious to it, or so Caroline hoped. Gillian would hardly have got soaked in the rain on purpose, just to have an excuse to strip in the lounge, could she? That would imply that she knew of Caroline’s attraction for her. That was highly unlikely, as Caroline had always been careful not to let on too much. It would also imply that she wanted to encourage her for reasons of her own; and there could be no plausible explanation for that.
No, Caroline would have to accept that this was a very one-sided attraction and she would simply have to wait for it to pass.
And yet… Gillian had admitted to having been with a woman before. Why would she do that if not to drop a hint? Caroline implored herself to stop thinking about it. She couldn’t risk how well things were going, it would be ruinous and downright stupid.
No, Caroline would wait for this crush to pass and that was that. But how was she to do that with Gillian right there? Her witty snark, her heart-warming smile, and her great arse? Through no fault of her own, Caroline’s mind conjured up the image of Gillian bending over to rummage through the pile of washing… Caroline pressed her thighs together, her body tense with arousal from the dream she had just woken from.
Was it disrespectful of her to think about Gillian like this? It was becoming clear that she couldn’t stop her thoughts going there. Perhaps, playing it out in her mind would help her get over it, she mused. It would never happen anyway so what was the harm in it? Caroline’s mind was screaming with ludicrous justifications as to why it wasn’t bad to imagine shagging her step sister. The most convincing argument was - of course - that this was the privacy of her own mind. Gillian would never know, and Caroline knew she wouldn’t be able to go to sleep any time soon unless she did something about the state she was in.
Fuck it, she decided, and pushed her hand between her legs. She groaned, frustrated with herself over how wet she was. There was nothing for it, she pushed away her self-consciousness and instead imagined what the sheep farmer could be doing with that talkative mouth of hers. Perhaps she’d be quite eager to please her. She remembered the way she had looked at her during their “thank you“ dinner the other night, reminiscent of a puppy dog looking for praise… A nice way of saying “thank you“ would be on her knees between Caroline’s legs… Caroline bit back a moan as she imagined Gillian’s nails digging into her thighs.
Or maybe, given how headstrong Gillian was, she wouldn’t be submissive at all. Maybe she could have fucked Caroline on that very kitchen table, or the kitchen side, or the sofa, or the bloody wall, any wall, pushing her up against it and Caroline would only be wearing a skirt and…
“Fuck…Gillian…“ Caroline gasped as her fingers did the work she so badly wanted Gillian to do. She wished she could find out what it would be like, really like, to be with Gillian. It was a privilege far too many men had had for Caroline’s taste and she couldn’t believe the injustice of it. She knew she was worth a thousand Robbies, Pauls or Johns. She would not treat her the way they had, she would look after her, care for her, love her…
“You’ve got issues, Caroline, honestly…“ Caroline breathed into the darkness and wiped the sweat off her face.
——
“There you are.“
Gillian looked around when she heard Caroline’s voice. Her face brightened immediately.
“Storm’s cleared,“ she smiled and waved for Caroline to come and sit with her. She was perching on the wall outside the house, looking out onto the fields beyond. The sun was just coming up, it would be a clear day, apart from the fog that was coming up from the damp ground after yesterday’s storm. It was Sunday morning and everywhere around them was quiet still.
“I’m never gonna get used to this view,“ Caroline commented as she came to sit next to Gillian. She hugged her warm mug and pulled her coat tighter around her. It was very chilly, but Gillian didn’t seem to notice. She was drinking her own tea and smiled, looking out into the valley herself.
“Be a shame if you did,“ she chuckled into her drink.
“Is it bad that I’m dreading everyone coming home this afternoon?“ Caroline asked, after a moment of comfortable silence.
“Nah… I’ve been enjoying the peace and quiet too,“ Gillian admitted with a smirk. “Let’s enjoy it while it lasts…“
“We’ll have weekends like this more frequently once Ellie and Raff move out properly…“ Caroline mused and she wasn’t sure how she felt about that. She wanted to spend as much time alone with Gillian as she possibly could, but she was worried it would only make ignoring her feelings harder. Particularly when Gillian looked as peaceful and content as she did right now.
“Hm,“ Gillian hummed thoughtfully and Caroline frowned.
“What?“
“I just… I was just thinking, after all this… shit. Eddie and John. My numerous misadventures, Robbie! God, Robbie… and you losing Kate, that… after all this, we do deserve something nice, don’t we,“ Gillian didn’t look at her at first, she looked out into the valley, a soft smile playing on her lips that the morning sun lit beautifully.
“If there is any justice in the universe…“ Caroline mumbled, struck by how beautiful she looked in that moment. So utterly at peace and it defied her understanding that she played a part in that.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been as settled and… happy… as this…“ Gillian confessed and looked at Caroline with a smile that made the headteacher’s heart nearly jump out of her chest.
“Me neither…“ Caroline admitted and it was true. Not even when she had been happy with John or in the short but lovely time she had had with Kate, had she felt so complete and content. It was that realisation that made her throw caution to the wind. Surely, Gillian wouldn’t be saying these things if there was no deeper meaning behind it all. Maybe she had been dropping hints on purpose all along… Caroline stopped thinking, she just leaned forward and kissed her.
For one beautiful moment, Caroline’s world shrunk to the feeling of Gillian’s soft lips against hers. It felt liberating and right and even better than she had imagined. At least until Gillian pushed her away.
“Caz! What are you…“ The sheep farmer exclaimed, eyes wide with shock. It was like a sobering slap in the face, only, a slap would have probably hurt less.
“I uh- I’m, oh my God, I’m so sorry, Gillian, I just… I got caught up in the moment and…“ Caroline stammered, disoriented, she struggled to grasp what was going on and she cursed herself for her lack of restraint. She had spent all of last night telling herself how she would never ever act on these feelings and here she was, ruining everything! She stared at Gillian who was at a loss for words herself, she had blushed deeply, tensed up, and wild panic was painted all over her face.
“I uh- I’m gonna just… sorry.“ She jumped off the wall and fled, rushing off to God knows where, around the corner of the barn. It took Caroline a good minute until she recovered from her shock and when she did, her emotions broke out of her. She chucked her mug across the yard and broke it on the barn door. That bloody barn. She imagined Eddie watching, laughing at her.
“Fuck,“ she groaned and buried her face in her hands. She took a deep breath. “Well done Caroline, really fucking well done, you just had to go and ruin everything, didn’t you…“ She looked out into her valley, her vision blurring with tears. She was not prepared to give up this new found happiness. She would have to find a way of making things right with Gillian. How could she have made such a crude lapse in judgement? Slowly, she slid down the wall and started gathering the broken china of the mug.
——
“You alright mum?“ Raff asked, eyeing his mother across the dinner table. The rest of the family had returned in the afternoon as predicted. First Raff and Ellie with the kids, then Greg had brought round Flora. Now, the kids had gone to bed and the grown-ups were having their tea and discussing how the house hunting was going. At least that’s what Raff and Ellie were trying to do but neither Gillian nor Caroline seemed to really be listening.
“Hm? What?“ Gillian looked up from her plate, confused.
“You’re uncharacteristically quiet,“ Raff observed, exchanging a glance with his wife, who gave him a shrug.
“Maybe I was just thinking how I’m missing the f-bloody peace and quiet from before you all piled back in 'ere,“ Gillian snarked, far harsher than she probably meant to. Fortunately, they were all used to Gillian’s moods by now so Raff just turned to Caroline:
“Caroline, what’s wrong with me mum?“ He asked, as if she wasn’t even there, in response to which Gillian just chucked her cutlery onto her plate like a stroppy teenager.
“What’s wrong with her? Nothing’s wrong with her. Maybe she’d be better if you weren’t pestering her,“ Caroline’s response was snarky as well, she wanted to be left alone to her own thoughts, as she presumed Gillian did. They hadn’t spoken for most of the day and sitting next to each other at dinner now was harder than she would have imagined.
“Not you too,“ Raff groaned.
“You had a fight or summat?“ Ellie asked, looking between the two women.
“What would we possibly fight about?“ Caroline shot back, twirling her pasta around her fork.
“Would you like a list?" Ellie chuckled and Caroline shot her a look that would have shut up anyone.
“Everything’s perfectly fine, eat your tea,“ the headteacher instructed and Raff was quick to appease:
“It’s lovely, this, Caroline.“
“Thanks love.“ She managed a thin smile as they all returned their attention to their plates.
“I’m not feeling too good, I’m gonna get an early night,“ Gillian announced and got to her feet abruptly. “Can you check in on sheep later, Raff?“
“Sure.“ He nodded quickly and the sheep farmer practically fled the table. There was a moment of tense silence with only Gillian’s footsteps, rushing up the stairs to her bedroom.
“You not gonna go after her?“ Ellie asked once they heard a door slam upstairs.
“Why would I?“ Caroline asked, bewildered at the very suggestion.
“If something’s happened, you’re better off clearing it up sooner rather than later,“ Raff agreed with his wife.
“She doesn’t want me talking to her,“ Caroline huffed, moving her pasta around the plate that she - despite going through some pain to make it - didn’t fancy at all.
“So something did happen!“ Raff exclaimed as if her statement was proof to that effect. “What’s she done? Did one of sheep get into the house again?“
“Nothing happened!“ Caroline shook her head. She wanted to laugh at how he naturally presumed it had been Gillian that was at fault. Nothing could be further from the truth but she couldn’t tell them what had happened. It would only make things worse. The best course of action would be to ignore it had ever happened. “Just give her some space,“ she advised, which was exactly what she planned on doing herself. With any luck, things wouldn’t be as tense tomorrow and they could forget about the whole thing.
——
Caroline was engrossed in a book when Gillian reappeared. Raff and Ellie were watching telly, while Caroline had retreated to the other sofa. For a moment, Gillian lingered at the top of the stairs, probably wondering if she dared be among them again, but as it turned out she had no intention of that anyway. She crossed the living room without a word and headed for the front door.
“Thought she said she were getting an early night…“ Ellie commented when the front door slammed shut.
“Caroline…“ Raff looked over to the headteacher. “If you won’t tell us what happened, can you at least…“ His voice was almost pleading and Caroline couldn’t refuse, not when she knew this was her fault. Perhaps talking it through would help…
“Alright…“ She closed her book, threw the blanket aside and got to her feet.
Caroline wrapped herself up warm and stepped out of the farm house. The night was clear as the day had been and yet, she couldn’t see Gillian anywhere, she seemed to have made good use of her head start. She pulled her coat tighter around herself and made her way down the path. The Landrover was still there so she couldn’t have gone far.
That’s when she heard her, her muffled voice and she spotted the flickering light of a torch in the barn. Reluctantly, self-consciously, Caroline stepped closer.
“I bet you’re fucking loving this, aren’t you.“ It was definitely Gillian’s voice, louder and more pronounced now and Caroline stopped by the door of the barn. It wasn’t entirely shut but it wasn’t open and inviting either. “I could be so happy if it wasn’t for everything you’ve done to me.“ Gillian’s voice was distraught, worked up and angry. Caroline knew who she was talking to. Part of Gillian still believed that Eddie was still, somehow, present in that barn where he had died. And it seemed like she was shouting at him now. “I could be whole and together and worth a bloody damn. You satisfied?“ She was yelling from inside and Caroline couldn’t bring herself to walk in. She didn’t want to intrude, it wouldn’t be fair. She really ought to head back inside, allow Gillian this moment of privacy to work through her feelings. “Even after all this time, I still can’t f-bloody get anything right!“ Her words didn’t quite make sense to Caroline, but she got the gist. “I deserve to be happy, I do! Even after what I did, I deserve to move on. You put me through hell and I came out the other side and I deserve something good to happen and I thought it had and now it’s all fucked up again!“ Caroline’s heart sank when Gillian’s voice broke with sobs. “So congrats, you’ve fucking done it again.“
Caroline didn’t know what to do. She couldn’t go in, it was too much, too personal. She felt guilty for even listening in, but the sound of Gillian crying broke her heart. She realised she had messed up big. Gillian had been happy and she had forced her out of her comfort zone to where she didn’t want to go. Of course she would blame Eddie for it, like she did with most things in her life when they went wrong. Like she had blamed the accidents that had happened to Robbie on him too… Caroline knew it was her fault this time though, Eddie was well and truly gone. The only hold he had in this world was the one he still had on Gillian and Caroline cursed him for it. She wished she could just be free of him. She wanted nothing more than for Gillian to be happy, she knew she had to find a way to make things right with her. Ignoring each other as they had done for the most part of the day, just wasn’t an option. She wanted to be content and happy like they had been the past month, she had to find a way of restoring that balance and reassure Gillian she had no expectations of her. She stepped away from the barn, heading back to the house, but it was too late.
“What’re you doing out 'ere?“ Gillian exclaimed and Caroline looked around.
“Just uh… Raff asked me to come look after you…“ she answered slowly, shifting uncomfortably. She should have left sooner.
“Raff can fuck off,“ Gillian huffed, locking the barn door behind her.
“He’s concerned about you, I am too…“ Caroline said slowly as she realised they were heading into a stand off. Gillian kept her distance, crossing her arms as well and staring her down with an uneasy air about her.
“Were you listening?“ Gillian’s voice swung between accusatory, distressed and insecure.
“No, I…“ Caroline broke off because the lie would be so incredibly hard to maintain. How was she supposed to pretend she didn’t know how distressed she was?
“Cause it’s none of your f-flipping business,“ Gillian snapped in an angry outburst that made Caroline flinch and feel all the more guilty.
“I know that…“ she said softly. “I just… are you okay?“ The bright moonlight illuminated the sheep farmer’s face just enough to reveal her damp cheeks and puffy eyes. Gillian must have noticed her staring because the response was quick and harsh:
“Do I fucking look okay to you?“
“No, that’s why…“ Caroline winced, struggling for the right thing to say. It was a minefield, one that she had set up for herself. No matter which way she turned, compassion, remorse, admitting to listening, pretending she didn’t know why she was upset, apologising for a mistake or admitting to the depth of her emotions and motivations… with Gillian every course of action could blow up in her face and make things even worse than they already were.
“Leave me alone, Caroline.“ Gillian seemed to think it best not to give her an opportunity at all. She strutted past her, back towards the farm house.
“Gillian…“ Caroline couldn’t let her go, she had to try something, anything, so she reached out, grabbed her arm to hold her back. Gillian’s reaction was more violent than she could have anticipated.
“Get your hands off me!“ The sheep farmer yelled and ripped her arm away, cradling it against her like she had been burnt, she stared at Caroline with a turmoil of emotions in her expressive eyes. Caroline’s heart sank, she crossed her arms again.
“I’m not gonna do anything, I got the message loud and clear…“ Caroline mumbled, self-consciously.
“Yeah, well- You better not,“ Gillian’s sharp reply drove the matter home and Caroline didn’t look up, not until the sheep farmer had disappeared inside the farm house.
The headteacher turned away and looked out into the valley. She felt numb.

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD IT HAS FINALLY HAPPENED... I WAS NOMINATED BY @transjohnnylawrence .......... Omg 😱 😭🤧😂
okay, so I’ve prepared a speech... or — well...
I’d like to thank my mom, my — what am I saying?
Thank you @transjohnnylawrence Ferris you rock man 💖🌻💖
Okay, let’s do this....
It’s the year 2021 and you’re obsessed with The Karate Kid. How are you feeling?:
Hell yeah! I love TKK, I’m feeling great about it, and I mean, I’ve met a lot of great people in the fandom and great friends <3 Cobra Kai is awesome too!
Did you grow up with TKK or are you new to the series?:
Lol, I guess I grew up with it? I saw TKK when I was six or seven years old and it’s a good memory because my dad was there from one of his excruciatingly long deployments and he had found it on television and he scooped me up and set me in his lap and we watched it together. Of course he fell asleep halfway through and the only reason he woke up was because I tried to do the flying kick that Bobby does to take out Danny’s knee, and I fell over and ended up busting my knee a little on the side of the coffee table, my dad woke up and ended up telling me off for hurting myself, but we sat down and watched the last minute, after he’d put a bandaid on my knee. My dad ended up getting it at the library a while later on VHS so I could see the beginning and ending because I had missed both, it’s kind of one of the best memories I have of my dad. After that, a lot of stuff happened in my life and I kinda forgot about it till I saw a trailer for Cobra Kai, and after that I rented the film from my local library, and watched it about five times... then on a different site I met @transjohnnylawrence and he asked me to a TKK watch party, which honestly was the best. ✨ I’ve met a lot of great people in this fandom and I am so happy that I found it again, because I’ve made some friends... <3 but I said that already :) ✨
We gotta do the basics. Favourite character:
TOMMY!!! lol... I don’t actually know... I love them all, but Bobby, Jimmy, Dutch, or Tommy for TKK, definitely Jessica is a top fave and I don’t mind Ali... my favorite character in Cobra Kai has to be either Robby or Amanda... or Moon or Demetri... but I really relate to Robby
Wax On, Wax Off or Sweep the Leg?:
I prefer neither. I guess I tend to go for the whole Mr. Miyagi speech about balance. That or ‘Get him a body bag, yeahhh,’ — Actually, I once changed the line just a little to use. I once flunked down into a chair at a cafeteria table, set my head down on the table, and stated ‘get me a body bag,’ and my friend looked at me and said ‘exams are going that bad huh?’ and I just nodded and proceeded to fall asleep on the table because I hadn’t had any sleep... also, I said ‘Get him a body bag’ once when my sister jokingly told me to sike our dad out when we were playing pool in teams... and I took it literally and my dad just looked very surprised and started laughing.... but yeah... what was the question? if i had to choose, it would be Sweep the Leg ... Or Wax on, Wax off, depending on my mood Which of Daniel’s dumb little outfits is your favourite?:
The silly little flannel with the camo pants... since I have worn something very similar and been teased for it... 😅😂 there’s so many that I liked though... I really dislike that he wears only suits now and they’re the stuffy kind...
Favourite ship:
Johnny/Jimmy, Dimmy (Dutch/Jimmy), I blame two fanfic writers for this one, but — Johnny/Bobby/Dutch... Also, Dutch/Tommy, Dutch/Jimmy/Tommy, Kumiko/Jessica/Ali, Bonny, Lucille/Miyagi and Johnny/Bobby/Tommy/Jimmy/Dutch, And Tommy/Ali... for CK, I’m big into Sam/Demetri, Robby/Moon, and Hawk and Demetri but as Binary Brothers ............. there’s too many
Underrated character:
JeSsIcA — yeah, definitely Jessica! And Tommy! And Jimmy! Dutch! And totally Bobby... but Jessica is definitely number One ☝️ in my underrated characters list...
Underrated ship (don’t say therapy, lol):
i like Jimmy/Dutch or Tommy/Ali but Kumiko/Jessica/Ali are top on my list... that and Bobby/Freddy (They’d look pretty cute together, I dunno 🤷🏼‍♀️) that and Thera— Tommy/Johnny ... for CK it’s definitely Sam/Aisha or Amanda/Johnny lol... joking with that one... Robby/Moon
Character from the films you most want to return, who’s not Terry Silver:
screw Terry Silver! NO SERIOUSLY SCREW HIM AND KREESE... I want to see Jessica and Dutch!!! and more of the Og Cobras 🐍 😩♥️ Maybe even Julie... but definitely Jessica and Dutch (Lol I feel strongly about this)
Scene that lives in your head rent-free:
the goodbye scene with Tommy in Take a Right... it just sticks with me even though it’s a sad scene... but just hearing them talk by the campfire and seeing Tommy giving Johnny advice and helping him... and also, just... yeah, that just 🥺... got stuck in my head... that or the scene with Robby where he finds his childhood artwork at his dad’s apartment, I get emotionally drawn in thinking about my own childhood, for TKK it was the scene where Bobby is disqualified and throws his belt down in front of Kreese and walks out... and seeing Johnny’s face in the background as Bobby took Daniel out, it just is another sad scene. Or the Halloween fight where Bobby tells Johnny to leave Daniel alone... also, the beach scene with Johnny and Bobby being real pals on their bikes, and Dutch’s yellow helmet rolling across the ground... the soccer tryouts... I love soccer. The learning how to take a fall part because I’ve had that happen (but the kid wasn’t on a motorbike, just a regular bike, and it wasn’t a steep hill, but I had another kid knock me off my bike like that :/ )
Will Anthony LaRusso ever be relevant?:
oh man, you know it, that kid is gonna be like the master of Karate or something... that kid’s got mad skills... ha! I dunno 🤷🏼‍♀️ he’s there as a foil or something... anyways, he absolutely annoys the heck out of me because he reminds me of a kid I babysat once... but yeah, they’ll probably make him more relevant...
You live in The Valley and are forced into the karate gang war. Which dojo do you join?:
Oh dang, yeah... ummmm, well... I think Bobby, Jimmy, and Tommy would be my friends... but I think I’d choose Miyagi Do in TKK and help Daniel, while also trying to talk some sense into my friends... in CK, I think I’d pick Miyagi Fang, but before that, I probably would have chosen Cobra Kai when Johnny was Sensei and probably would have jumped ship when Kreese came in. Or, option 3. Fake my death, change my name, and run... (bonus... if Johnny told me to flip the script, I’d give myself a badass name like Hornet, because you don’t really feel the sting till a few minutes later... but it’s bad... or I’d just join Miyagi Do)
It’s the crossover event of the century! Which TV show are you combining with Cobra Kai for an hour-long Saturday night special?:
Pfffffft, OTHERWORLD so that it would be like Jimmy got sucked into an alternate dimension and he’s lost with his family... no I’m not currently thinking of writing a Fanfiction about this... or am I? Hmmmmm...
💫 I Nominate @dxrkvibes23
@kingkarate @cobrasandalleycats @strikelikeacobrakai @legolugosi @transdaniellarusso @dream-beyond-the-fantasy @cobrakaikaratedad @johnnywhorance @johnnyavanti (Sorry if you didn’t want to be tagged or have already done this...) 💫

Tiger & Bunny Fanfiction: The ghosts of the past haunt best
This is a fan plot for Tiger & Bunny's 10th Anniversary. It was inspired by Chapter 20 of the Comic, All lay loads on a willing horse.
NOTE: Some elements of Ghost Hunters, The Conjuring Universe and other horror movies and scary stories involved.
Meet the Original Characters
Karl Storm Feather
Voiced by Robbie Daymond.
Bio
Karl is a 16-year-old Psychic-Type NEXT with the ability to sense and see aura, reveal aura, and even manipulate aura. He is a student at the Hero Academy. (This story takes place during summer break.) His parents own a grocery store which he helps out at and he loves ghost stories and scary movies. Even though he's being trained to become a hero, Karl's real passion is paranormal investigating. He is the leader of the paranormal research and investigating team, The Groovy Ghosties.
History
Karl's NEXT powers first awaken when he was 8 years old. He and his soon-to-be girlfriend, Beatrice "Bea" Kelleman, were at her apartment watching a scary movie. Then, Bea's older brother, Sidney "Sid", snuck into the dark living room dressed like a bloody ghost with a hideous monster mask and scared the two little kids as a prank. Bea was crying and Karl was mad. So mad that his powers activated for the first time and tried to choke Sid with his own aura. Fortunately, Bea managed to stop him and Sid was spared. Sometime later, Karl started attending the Hero Academy. However, he, with an interest in the supernatural and the occult, really wanted to become a paranormal investigator, following the work of renown demonologists, Ed and Lorraine Warren. (I apologize to the relatives of the Warrens for using them in this story. They'll only appear in it as pictures.) So, he started the paranormal team, The Groovy Ghosties. This team consists of himself as the lead investigator, his girlfriend Bea, her older brother Sid, Sid's best friend Steven Burrow, Bob Lyman the neighbor kid from across the street, his friend from school Darla Torrington, fellow Academy student and Bea's best friend Marcia Fey, and Marcia's girlfriend Sarah Sands. This usually leads to him and Marcia being ridiculed and made fun of by the other Academy students who think that they should focus more on becoming heroes instead looking for ghosts. But they are not giving up. The truth is out there and the Groovy Ghosties will find it!
Appearance
Karl is a 16-year-old Native American teenager with tan skin, black hair, and grey eyes. He wears the Hero Academy's sweatsuit with a Native American necklace. Bea and some of the other Academy students often describe him as a "rather handsome animal". Karl says, "I look more like my dad when I he was young."
Personality
Karl is kind and caring young man who believes in the good in others. However, he is prone to losing his temper when pushed enough.
Trivia
Karl is slightly based off of Jesse Cosay from Infinity Train and Charlies Little Bull from The Casagrandes. Both of them were voiced by Robbie Daymond.
Even though many would say that he would be a fan of Sky High because they both have goofy attitudes, Karl is actually one of the extremely rare fans of Rock Bison. Partly because Karl believes in the underdog (or in this case, the undercow) and partly because Bison's sponsor, Kronos Foods, is one of his parents' grocery store's major suppliers.
Karl is allergic to nuts. Because of this, his parents only sell them in the store when he is away at school, but put them in the back when he's helping them.
If he were to end up on Hero TV, Karl would try to convince Apollon Media to have segments in between episodes where he and his friends would investigate supernatural phenomenon.
Beatrice "Bea" Kelleman
Voiced by Cristina Valenzuela.
Bio
Beatrice, often known by others as Bea, is Karl Storm Feather's girlfriend and a member of the Groovy Ghosties where she is in charge of the team's gear. She is also Sid's younger sister.
History
Bea lived in one of the apartments above The Storm Feathers' Grocery Store with her parents and her older brother, Sid. Like Karl, she also has a love for the paranormal. She was also there when Karl's NEXT abilities first awoke and nearly shocked her brother to death. Fortunately, she managed to calm him down and saved Sid. Sometime after Karl started attending the Hero Academy, he introduced Bea to Marcia Fey and they became best friends. They later formed the Groovy Ghosties. Her job on the team is to create and inspect their ghost hunting equipment.
Appearance
Bea is a 16-year-old teenager with black hair which she dyed blonde blonde, though some it is still black, and brown eyes. She also has a charm bracelet she got as a birthday present from Karl, Marcia, and Sarah.
Personality
Bea is a nice person. She is very optimistic and is willing to do what she can to help her friends. She can also be very driven, but devoted.
Trivia
On Hero TV, her favorite hero is Barnaby. Though, she likes Dragon Kid, too.
Bea's parents are plastic surgeons (mostly nose jobs).
If she were not a paranormal investigator, Bea would either make movies or become a dermatologist.
Bea is actually how Karl became interested in becoming a paranormal investigator. She gave him one of the Warrens' books.
Sidney "Sid" Kellemen
Voiced by Grant George.
Bio
Sidney, often known as Sid, is Bea's older brother. He is a member of the Groovy Ghosties as the skeptic of the group. He mainly joined them to keep an eye on his little sister.
History
Sid has always thought that his sister and her boyfriend's interested in the paranormal is just silly as he doesn't believe in that sort of stuff. So as a prank, he dressed up as a bloody ghost with a monster mask, snuck into the dark living room while Bea and Karl were watching a scary movie, and scared them good. As a result, Bea was crying and Karl lost his temper which lead to him activating his NEXT powers for the first time and nearly killed Sid by choking him with his own aura. Fortunately, Bea managed to calm him down and Sid was spared. Since then, he came to distrust Karl. Sometime later, Karl started the Groovy Ghosties. Bea joined and so did Sid. He did not want to, but his parents said he had to to watch over Bea. Sid is the skeptic of the group. His job is to try and find a more logical explanation for every supernatural case the group investigates. He and his best friend, Steven Burrow, are in a band, The Blue Rose Experience, together who do parodies of Blue Rose's songs.
Appearance
Sid is an 18-year-old man with black hair with a bang that covers one of his dark brown eyes. He has a fine build, but not very strong. He often dresses in a grey short-sleeved shirt and black pants.
Personality
Sid is a self-proclaimed realist. He believes that everything that everything has a scientific and logical explanation. He appears to be a bit apathetic, but he truly cares about his family and little sister. Though he won't admit it, he is also very close to his friend, Steven.
Trivia
Sid is slightly based off of Shinjiro Aragaki from Persona 3. They also share the same voice actor.
Many would imply that Sid and Steven's relationship is romantic. However, they are probably just real good friends as both are fans of Blue Rose. But this remains to be seen.
Sid's skepticism comes from simply being scared of the unknown. Though, he doesn't want to admit it.
In the band that he and Steven are part of, Sid plays the bass.
Steven Burrow
Voiced by Bumper Robinson.
Bio
Steven is Sid Kelleman's best friend and fellow member of the Groovy Ghosties. He is the public relations, responsible for finding cases, and providing spiritual and religious insight for the group. He and Sid are also members of the band, The Blue Rose Experience.
History
Steven and Sid have known each other since the 6th Grade. When they got into high school, they both joined The Blue Rose Experience, a band who are fans of Blue Rose and do parodies of her songs. They later joined Karl and Bea's paranormal research and investigation team, The Groovy Ghosties. At first, Steven's highly religious parents objected to their son joining a group they deem "doing the Devil's work". However, Steven assured them that he will be very safe and they will be very safe, so they let him join. Sid's job on the team is PR, finding cases for the group to solve, and provide them with spiritual and religious insight.
Appearance
Steven is an 18-year-old African American young man with black hair and black eyes. He has a tattoo of the Holy Mother on his back.
Personality
Steven has a positive attitude and isn't afraid to say what needs to be said. Like his family, he is very religious, but isn't afraid to try new things.
Trivia
Many would imply that Steven and Sid's relationship is romantic. However, they are probably just real good friends as both are fans of Blue Rose. But this remains to be seen.
Steven is also a fan of Barnaby. Whenever he's not with the band or the Ghosties, Steven is doing volunteer work at the same orphanage that Barnaby visits.
Steven is actually the grand nephew of the CEO of Titan Industry.
Bob Lyman

Bio
Bob is a 13-year-old member of the Groovy Ghosties as the cameraman. He was actually the Groovy Ghosties' first client.
History
Bob was the Ghosties' first client. Less than a month after they began, Bob had what he described as a paranormal experience. One night while he was in bed, he woke up, but couldn't move or speak. Then, he saw a shadowy figure come out of his closet and stare at him for about a minute before leaving the room. After they left, Bob finally got free of his trance and went out the room after the figure, but they were nowhere to be found. The next morning, Bob and his parents found their living room, which was nice and tidy the previous night, a total mess, but none of them heard anything. Bob went to Karl, Bea, Sid, and Steven about this. Karl reveals that Bob's trance was sleep paralysis which is sometimes caused by ghosts, which was probably the shadowy figure. Sid, however, simply says that Bob just has a nightmare and nothing else. But Bob asks how that could explain the living room being a mess when no one heard anything. It was time for the team to investigate. They set up cameras and things and waited that night. Then, odd things began to happen. First, they could hear footsteps going around. Sid said it was probably somebody upstairs or next door. Bob said the upstairs apartment is vacant their neighbors on both sides are either on a date or on vacation. Then, the temperature of the room started to drop. Sid said that because it is winter, of course the temperature would be cold. However, it was actually in mid March so winter would be near over and the weather getting warmer. They could hear voices saying something like, "There are two." Then, Karl could have sworn he saw one of the pillows on the couch move on its own. Until was about midnight or so, they decided to call it a night. A few days later, they concluded that whatever was in the house means no harm and that Bob and his parents have nothing to fear. Since then, the odd occurrences stopped, though they had a feeling that it was not over. Since then, Bob became interested in what the Ghosties do and convinced them to let him join the team as their camera man to help record footages of ghosts and chronicle their cases. Later on, Bob's friend from school, Darla Torrington also joined on.
Appearance
Bob is a 13-year-old boy who has tan skin, light brown hair, and blue eyes. He often wears a t-shirt with a picture of Wild Tiger and Barnaby on it.

Then, Mario announces that another open submission will be open for a wish to be granted by them. Remember that the Groovy Ghosties will be having a live stream while investigating an abandoned orphanage which is believe to be haunted the ghost of it matron, Karl decides that this would be an opportunity to get more recognition for the team.
So, he goes to his computer and writes a letter:
Dear Apollon Media,
My name is Karl Storm Feather. I’m a student at the Hero Academy.
I’ve heard of this time you had to help some guy look after a cursed tea set. You know, me and my friends have been doing some investigating into the supernatural ourselves. We are a team of paranormal investigators known as the Groovy Ghosties.
I know it’s not something you guys would normally do, but we were hoping that maybe you could do something for our live stream. We are investigating the old orphanage which is just a little way from the orphanage that Barnaby Brooks Jr. lived. Our PR, Steven Burrow, said that it’s supposed to be haunted by the ghost of its matron, Reverend Mother Clarice Dellaway, after she died falling from the window. They say since she died, odd things happened. Some were so terrifying that they had to close it down. According to Steven, they’re thinking of reopening the place since the current orphanage is getting too full. They want to move there, but they’re afraid of the ghost and what she might do.
We would like to do it, but I think we might need a little more help with this case. So we’re hoping that you could come and help us with this. I know that we and the orphanage would be so happy. Meet us at our headquarters: Warehouse 13, Bronze Stage.
Please help us. Thank you.
-Karl Storm Feather, Lead Investigator of the Groovy Ghosties
Karl finished the letter and printed it. He put it in an envelope and was ready to send it. However, he remembered that at the Hero Academy, the other students made fun of him because of his love for the paranormal. This lead him to be scared that it would only embarrass him, the team, and even the heroes. So, he decides not to send it and goes home.
The next day at the Grocery Store, Darla Torrington comes in with Antonio Lopez. They notice Karl looking down. They asked what was wrong. He said that he could not bring himself to submit a wish to Wild Tiger and Barnaby about investigating the orphanage. Darla thinks it that is a shame. However, Antonio tells him that no matter how ridiculous his wish may sound, there is still a good chance it could be granted. Karl is still a bit unsure, but is willing to go on with the investigation. However, Darla decides to submit the wish for him through her uncle, Orlando Cooper, who is a cameraman for Hero TV. Antonio secretly decides to help as it it the least he can do for one of his favorite neighbors.
The next day at Apollon Media, Kotetsu Kaburagi, Barnaby Brooks Jr., and Agnes Joubert are looking though some submissions (most of which are for Barnaby). Then, Orlando and Antonio added one more submission to their pile. At first, Agnes did not think it would be worth their time, but Kotetsu said that because Antonio is his best friend, they should at least take a look. Barnaby also decides to take a look when Orlando said it came from his niece and her friends. They read the note. At first, Kotetsu was not sure, however, Barnaby assured him it would be fine, especially since this involves the orphanage that he grew up in and now helps in. Besides, Agnes said this would be a perfect way for Barnaby to make up for the cursed tea set. Barnaby groans saying that she is still not going to let that go. Antonio tells Orlando to tell Karl, Darla, and the others the good news.
Later that day, Kotetsu is at the train station when the train pulls up. Then, his daughter, Kaede, and his older brother, Muramasa, get off. Kotetsu is happy that his daughter will be spending two weeks with him. Kaede said that she only came in hopes that her won wish would be granted: To spend more time in Sternbild and with Barnaby. Later at a restaurant, Kotetsu, Kaede, and Muramasa are having dinner when Barnaby shows up. Kotetsu and Barnaby explain that they are going to investigate a haunted orphanage. Kaede, out of curiosity, wants to go, too. Kotetsu and Muramasa say that may be a bad idea saying that if she gets her, her grandmother would never forgive them. Kaede was disappointed.
At Bar Number 06, Antonio is hanging out with Keith Goodman and Ivan Karelin when Antonio tells them about what happened. Ivan wonders if it would be alright if he came as well, since he knows a thing or two about the occult. Antonio is not sure, but Keith said that he might convince Agnes as he is the King of Heroes. Antonio thinks that may work, but he wants him to convince her to let him come as well since Karl is a fan of Rock Bison.
Back at Apollon Media, Agnes, Orlando, Cain Morris, and Mari Rose are talking about the wish they were going to film. Alexander Lloyds, Ben Jackson, and Saito hear them. Lloyds reveals that one of his children watches the Ghosties' videos and that he would like to come as well, mainly to get a picture of the team and their autographs. Saito decides to come too. But this, being a man of science, is only out of skepticism whispering that there are no such things as ghosts. Ben, however, is a believer and would like to see this for himself. They agree to let them come.
At Justice Tower, Yuri Petrov was about to get ready to return home for the night when Lloyds called. He said that he will be joining Kotetsu and Barnaby to investigate a haunted house and to let the sponsors know that he may not come tomorrow, but will try to come the day after. Yuri agrees. After the call ends, the ghost of Yuri's father, Mr. Legend appears. Yuri asks if he's ever going to stop (appearing to him). Mr. Legend just smiles and asks if what he's doing (going around as Lunatic and killing criminals) is really justice to anyone. Yuri tries to block him out, but flashes of the day his powers first activated and killing his father keep rushing through his head. He looks into the mirror to see that he accidentally rubbed off the makeup that hides his scars. He looks to see his father is still smiling. Then, he looks back to his computer to see call history. Curious, he goes to his computer and goes to the Groovy Ghosties' website where he watches an episode of them investigating an abandoned diner that was used as a front for a cult to lure virgin women with a waitress job only to kidnap them and drag them down to the basement where they would sacrifice them to their dark masters. The cult was found out and arrested by Stealth Soldier (whose powers are finally revealed to be the ability to shroud an area in fog). Down in the basement, Karl finds the knife that was used in the rituals. He he then activates his powers and reveals a dark aura coming from it. Later in the episode, Karl, Marcia, and Steven take the knife and place it in the team's artifact room with Marcia reciting some kind of spell and Sarah's father, Steven, and Steven's parents reciting a prayer. Karl then turns to the camera and says, "The evil has been contained." When the episode ended, Yuri just stares for a moment. Then he looks up to see Mr. Legend not there. Yuri takes out his phone and texts Lloyds saying that he will be coming as well.
At Abbas Prison, everyone is on high alert saying that a prison has escaped. The warden is yelling at a guard who says that only loosened the restraints on his eye-covering mask because he kept complaining that he was sweating in the face, he didn't know he could just shake it off and end with the guard in the cell. In a public bathroom at a park, Robin Baxter comes out of a stall just after changing out of his prison uniform and into his roller suit. He casually glides out but quickly hides behind a bush as some kids come around. He hears them talking about rumor that Wild Tiger and Barnaby going to work with the Groovy Ghosties. Another kid wonders if they would get to see the team's artifact room saying that even though they have weird meaning, some of them are actually quite priceless and would be worth a king's ransom on the market if they weren't so creepy. This gives Robin an idea.
The next day, some cars were coming in carrying Wild Tiger, Barnaby, Kaede, Rock Bison, Sky High, Origami Cyclone, Agnes, Cain, Mary, Orlando, Lloyds, Ben, Saito, and Muramasa. (Yuri was behind them in his own car.) Kaede had managed to convince her father and uncle to let her come saying that if she didn't, she was going to complain to her grandmother, their mother. Barnaby said he doesn't mind since he gets along with Kaede and Agnes thought that the daughter of a hero and now a future hero would up the ratings. They arrive at the warehouse that's used as the headquarters by the Ghosties. Darla is outside waiting for them. She calls the rest of her team out and Karl screams in excitement that they actually came, especially Rock Bison.
Inside the warehouse, Karl, Bea, and Sid explain what they do and the things in the warehouse. Origami asks Karl why he wants to become a paranormal investigator when, as a NEXT, he must become a hero. Karl states that not all heroes go around wearing a costume and be on TV, some of them don't have have powers. Agnes thinks that's just ridiculous as only NEXT can be heroes. Origami also states that at the Hero Academy, the other students make fun of him and Marcia for what they do. Marcia says, "Let the naysayers say nay like the dumb horses they are. This is what we do and we love it... Except for Sid." Both Bison and Tiger commend Karl and Marcia for their faith. "And besides," said Barnaby. "Even ghosts need to be saved... Speaking from experience." Karl assumes that he's talking about the cursed tea set, but Barnaby blushes with his eyes on Tiger saying that it's something like that while Tiger is just confused. Agnes has everyone taking pictures while Yuri wonders off and finds the artifact room. He finds that one of the Ghosties accidentally left their key in the keyhole. At first, Yuri is tempted to unlock the door and go inside, but refrains himself from doing so. But then, he sees his father's ghost appear next to him. Reluctantly, Yuri finally gives in and unlocks the door and goes inside. Inside, Yuri looks at all the objects inside, including:
a pack of poker cards
a white satin evening gown
a pair of red shoes
an Asian music box
the melted remains of a candle
a wooden mask
and a golden locket.
Suddenly, Yuri happens upon the knife he saw from the video. Yuri gets closer for a better look. He was about to pick it up when someone grabs his arm and pulls it away. At first, Yuri saw it was his father, but it was quickly revealed that it was Karl who gabbed it and said, "Didn't your mother tell you to look with your eyes and not your hands?" Yuri also saw that Tiger, Barnaby, Bison, Agnes, Cain, Mary, Orlando, Lloyds, Saito, Bea, and Sid where in. Sky High, Origami, Kaede, Muramasa, Ben, Darla, Marcia, and Sarah were still out taking pictures. Outside the door, Steven was scolding Bob for leaving his copy of the key in the door where someone could unlock it and enter. Yuri says he saw the knife in the episode and Karl says he's happy to know a justice of the peace has taken in interest in what the Ghosties do. Tiger is a bit skeptical about the items in the room. Karl explains that everything in the artifact room is either haunted, cursed, or have been used in some ritualistic practice and reminds him not to touch anything. Each of the visitors take an interest in the listed items.
Lloyds is attracted to the cards.
Cain and Mary are attracted to the gown.
Agnes is attracted to the shoes.
Bison is attracted to the music box.
Tiger and Barnaby are attracted to the melted candle.
Saito is attracted to the mask.
Yuri is attracted to the knife.
You'll know about the locket soon.
Karl notices this and tells them about the items.
The cards belong to Jimmy "The Gambler" Gambino who made a bet on a boxing match and lost which lead to him to be killed by some gangsters he owed money to. Since then, the ghost of his cut-up remains haunted the cards, earning him the name "The Torso". The Ghosties found the cards while they were investigating the ruins of a glass mansion which was owned by Cyrus Kriticos. Sid's skeptical conclusion was that people were scared of the stories and made them imagine seeing a cut-up body and that Kriticos was a crazy old man.
The gown belonged to a young woman who died and was burred with it because she didn't want anyone else wearing it. However, it was taken by graverobbers who sold it to a shop here in Sternbild. That shop rented the gown to another young woman who need something to wear to his school's prom. That night, when she had it on at the dance, she felt sick and went home. The next morning, her mother found her dead. The mother could not bring herself to give the gown back to the shop out of fear that the ghost of the gown's original owner would kill someone like she killed her daughter and has been on a dummy in the attic for many years. When the Ghosties came to investigate it, the mother gave them the gown in hopes that it would give the mother peace of mind and keep others safe from the gown. Sid's skeptical conclusion is that the gown had some kind of bacteria that came from the woman's rotting corpse that when introduced to living flesh would cause some kind of lethal reaction.
The shoes belonged to in old lady who lived on the Silver Stage. The shoes have been in her family for years dating back to when they were living in Denmark. The shoes have a curse on it. When they are put on, they stick and never come off and force the wearer to dance whenever music is played. Sid's skeptical conclusion is similar to the gown, but the deadly bacteria caused something similar to the dancing plague of 1518.
The music box belonged to a Chinese woman named Lu Mei who lost her family to a plague. She made a pact with a demon known as a yaoguai which gave the box the power to grand seven wishes. However, the first six wishes come with a price: the lives of the owner's friends and family. Then, after the final wish, the yaoguai claims the owner's soul. Sid received box from his pen pal, Ryan, before his mysterious death. (Most likely from making his seventh wish.) Sid has yet to come up with a logical explanation.
The melted candle used to magic candle known as the Black Flame Candle, which was made from the fat of a hanged man. It is said that if a virgin lights it on the night of a full moon on Halloween Night, it can resurrect the dead for one that one Halloween Night. The last time this happened, a young teenage boy lit it and brought back a trio of sister witches who wanted to steal the lives of the children of Salem, Massachusetts. The Ghosties brought it back with them from a case they were doing in there. Sid's skeptical conclusion was that it was just a prank as he believed that the story of those witches were just that, a story.
The wooden mask was made by a woodcarver who crafted a it from a tree where a dark spirit was trapped a century earlier by a Cajun medicine man. The mask compelled the carver to kill his family and others in the village until a young woman kills him to stop the killings. Now the cursed mask is rumored to be buried at the woodcarver's grave. However, the mask was found by a camp counselor who donned it and was compelled to kill everyone at the camp. Eventually, the mask was recovered while the Ghosties were searching for ghosts there. Sid's skeptical conclusion was that the mask a natural hallucinogen that puts the wearer into a frenzied state.
Karl was just about to talk about the locket when Steven comes in to say that the orphanage called and that they are ready for them. Karl says he will tell them about it another time. They leave the room and Karl locks it. Steven comforts Bob for making a mistake and reminds him to be careful next. With that, they leave, but Steven leaves his own copy of the key behind on his desk behind a picture of the Holy Mother. Just after they leave, Robin Baxter come into the warehouse through a window. He spots the artifact room, but could not enter because it was locked and needs a real person inside to switch places with and he forgot his lockpick case. Then, he goes over to Karl's desk and tries access his computer. At the orphanage, one of the older nuns tell the Ghosties, the heroes, the crew, and the Kaburagis the story of Mother Clarice Delleway. As a side job, Mother Clarice was a birdkeeper who took care of birds who were sick or injured. But one day, one of the birds got out of its cage and onto a branch out side of her office window. Mother Clarice tried to get it, but the bird taking off surprised her and she lost her balance and fell out of the window to her death. Sometime after her funeral, odd things began to happen. Whispers could be heard at night, objects and furniture were found to have been moved, and rooms would start to get really cold. Then, an orphan girl who despised Mother Clarice started having nightmares about falling from her office window or being under Mother Clarice as she fell. This drove the girl mad as she tried to cut herself. The girl was sent to an asylum where she got better and was adopted. However, this started happening to some of the other orphans, all of which entered her office and disrespected her or her birds (even though they were taken away after her death) in it. The church could no longer take seeing the children suffer like this and decided to close the orphanages. It has been standing empty to this very day.
Barnaby asks how come he never heard the story while he was growing up in the current orphanage. The nun said it was because Barnaby was too young to hear the story without getting scared and the subject was never brought up again until now when the current orphanage was starting to get too crowded. The old orphanage has more room for more children. They were hoping that the money collected by the church, they could fix up the building, but they cannot until they are sure that it would be alright with a mysterious presence there. But then, Steven, who was doing volunteer work at the time, heard about this and told the nuns about the Groovy Ghosties. After thinking about it, they decide to give them a try. The heroes agree to help as well, particularly Barnaby.
Later on at the abandoned orphanage as it starts to get dark, the team (except for Bea and Sarah), the heroes, and the crew (except for Agnes, Cain, and Mary) get ready. Kaede had to stay behind with Muramasa, Yuri, and Saito. Saito, Cain, and Mary, were in the van with Bea and Sarah to monitor the ones going into the orphanage. Inside the orphanage, the remaining team, the heroes, and the remaining crew looks around in the old building. Then, they divide into teams:
Karl with Wild Tiger, Barnaby, and Rock Bison.
Sid and Steven with Lloyds.
Bob and Darla with Orlando.
Marcia with Sky High and Origami Cyclone.
With Karl, Tiger, Barnaby, and Bison, they investigate Mother Clarice's old office. Karl activates his powers and tries to sense any aura. He says there is some faint residual energies coming from a certain part of the office. Barnaby says that the nuns told him that that spot was where the cage that held the birth that escaped used to be before she died. Karl senses that that energy that was given off from the cage is still in the orphanage meaning that the cage might still be there. Karl radios the others.
With Sid, Steven, and Lloyds who are investigating one of the rooms get the message. As they investigate the room they found that the church was originally going to turn this room into a home theater for the children to watch movies when they are unable to go to the city to watch them. But due to the strange happenings and the orphanage closing down, it never happened. Steven says they should hope that after they have given the orphanage and the church peace of mind, they will continue with that plan. Sid, however, believes that the theater was the real reason why they closed down the orphanage because the theatre would cost so much money that they didn't have. So they made up the supposed haunting to get out of paying. Steven disagrees but should be open-minded. Lloyds wonders about doing the same the next time someone like Wild Tiger shows up in his office. Though, chances are it would turn out the same.
With Bob, Darla, and Orlando, they are investigating one of the classrooms. Darla's tablet starts to pick up some odd sounds. She plays it back to hear what sounds like heavy breathing. At first, Bob thinks that Darla was breathing too heavily near the tablet, but then remembers that she was sticking it out that it couldn't pick it up. Orlando then spots something on the camera. He says that it looked like some faded transparent image passing out of the blackboard, but quickly vanishes. Bob takes a look and confirms it to be a semi-apparent specter.
With Marcia, Sky High, and Origami Cyclone, they inspect the dorms. Marcia casts a spell to track movements other than hers, Sky High's, or Origami's. Origami is interested in Marcia's powers saying that it's rare to see a Magic-Type NEXT. Marcia explains that you never know what kind of NEXT will appear. Sky High agrees and says that Marcia will make a great hero. Marcia says she still has a lot to think about that as there are some things about hero works that might scare her a bit. Origami says she know how she feels and that he would get scared sometimes, but he remembers that fears has a way of being made work for (you) than the criminals. Then, he takes out some ofuda (Japanese paper talismans) saying that he too has a way cast spells and begins placing them around.
Outside, Muramasa, who had left, returns with some pizza and coffee. Muramasa asks if they really believe in all this supernatural stuff. Sarah asks if he is a religious person. Muramasa says that whenever his brother goes off doing what heroes do best, he, their mother, and his niece pray for his safety. Sarah says that's good. Mary and Yuri reveal that they are Jewish, Cain is a Christian, and Agnes and Saito are Atheists. Bea said that there are times when even the Warrens have trouble with keeping the faith, but they keep at it. Bea asks Kaede why she wanted to come along. She says that apart from wanting to spend more time with her father and Barnaby, some of her friends have actually watched the Ghosties' webisodes and was a bit curious. Bea says that curiosity killed that cat, but it makes the person a bit more knowing.
Karl, Tiger, Barnaby, and Bison meet up with Bob, Darla, and Orlando in front of the door that leads up to the attic. Karl says that the aura is strongest up there and Bob says that the wispy figure reappears and was headed this way. They go up to the attic where Bison says that his infrared thermometer's number just went down. Karl says they most likely found a cold spot which is known to be caused by the presence of ghosts. They search the place until Barnaby finds something under a tarp. It was a bird cage. Karl uses his powers to reveal that there is a strong aura around the cage. Bob takes a picture and sends it back to the crew outside. Bea and Agnes says that one of the older nuns showed them pictures of Mother Clarice and her office. They find that bird cage is the same cage that the injured bird escaped from. Karl tries to pick up the cage, but another aura swats his hands away. Then, Darla picks up a sound. She plays it back and it sounds like a voice saying "No". Karl suspects that it is Mother Clarice. He asks her if she is there. He then uses his powers to reveal a blueish aura which Karl believes might be her. Darla tries to record the sound, but nothing comes up. Karl assures Mother Clarice that they come in peace and wish to know why she is here. Darla records the sounds and picks something up: "Away". Karl asks if she is talking about the bird that flew away. Tiger asks Barnaby if he asked what became of the bird. Barnaby did ask the nuns that, but they said they are unsure, although, one of the children found the scattered remains of a bird, most likely the bird that got away met its end by a cat or a fox. Suddenly, the room got even colder. Karl suspects that Mother Clarice is upset about what became of the bird. Karl then tries to assure her that even though that bird probably did not make it, her other birds were cared for, the nuns told them that after her death, they birds were sent to a zoo to be well taken care of and that she did a great job taking care of them. The aura responded as if trying to say yes. Barnaby then says that the current orphanage needs a new place to stay since it is getting full and that they want to use this one, but they can't unless they're sure it is safe. Bison then asks if it is alright if they could move to the old orphanage since it has more room. The aura then responds again. Darla even records the sound and plays it back to say "Stay." Tiger, who was getting a little shaky at this point says, "We'll take that as a yes." Karl then asks if they could bring the bird cage with them since her task is done. The aura responds again. However, Karl says it felt more like a no. Karl then says that if Mother Clarice wishes to stay, she must obey that rules of the living and not scare or harm anyone, especially the children. The aura then responds as if to say yes. Then, Darla records something that sounds like "Respect." Barnaby says that the nuns and the children will respect her memory as long as she means them no harm. The aura responds like saying yes again. Then, Karl calls Steven and Marcia to come.
Later, Steven, Marcia, and the rest of their teams arrive. Karl asks Steven to perform a blessing. Marcia was to use her powers with Karl in case something goes wrong and the spirit fights back. Origami says that he will also contribute with his ofuda. He then places the paper talismans on each wall of the attic as Steven begins to pray. The room shakes a bit. Karl tries to assure Mother Clarice that they just want to make sure that she will keep her promise. The shaking dies down a bit. Finally, Steven finishes his prayer saying that the spirit is at peace. Though she is not ready to ascend to the heavens, she assures them that none will have to fear her. Karl says it is time to call it a night and to review what they have found and share what they've learned with the orphanage. So, they regroup outside and leave.
Back at the warehouse, Robin had finally managed to access Karl's computer (the password was Bison which Robin thinks is not very clever). Robin then access the files of previous episodes, cases (on and off the record), and even a few videos. Robin opens one of the videos to see a recording of Ed and Larraine Warren performing an exorcism on a possessed man. Robin thinks that the Ghosties are sick and obsessed. Then, he access another video file about a haunted house on the Bronze Stage. It showed pictures of Karl, Marcia, Marcia's father, and Steven performing an exorcism in front of the house. Then, Robin finds a catalog files of everything in the team's artifact room. He reads them until he find the entry on the gold locket.
The locket is haunted by a banshee, a female Irish spirit whose wails can predict the death of another and can drive even the most virtuous of men to the brink of insanity. The story goes that the locket was a gift from an Irish nobleman to his wife for her birthday. Then, one day, the nobleman said he had to go out to sea to check on one of his farms the next day. That night, they heard a loud wailing that almost shook their entire estate. The looked out to see a woman in a black dress and her face was covered by a black vail. When they went out to see who she was, she vanished. The next day, the nobleman left. But then, a violet storm hit and the ship was lost. Sometime later, the ship was found, but the crew and the nobleman had all drowned. The nobleman's wife was in total grief as the banshee's wailing kept sounding at night. Finally driven mad with grief and the wailing, the wife hung herself in their room. After her death, the servant ransacked the entire estate taking everything: The money, the gold, the jewels, and even the locket. A few nights after taking the locket, the servant who took it started to hear the banshee's wailing. A few days later, the servant died of a heart attack. The locket ended up in the hands of the servants daughter who wore it to her wedding. On her wedding night, she and her new husband heard the banshee's wailing. The next day, the husband, who was riding his horse at the time, lost control of it and they both road off a cliff to their deaths. The wife feared it had something to do with the locket. She put it in a box and berried it near the estate in hopes that the banshee would leave her be. Many years later, someone dug up the locket and sold it to a shop in Kinsale. Sometime later, the locket was bought by Mrs. Cooper, Orlando's mother and Darla's grandmother. She wore it to a party that was thrown by her friend. Then, Mrs. Cooper heard a faint wailing and looked over to see a woman in a black dress and a dark veil standing near her friend. At first, she thought it was just another one of her friend's friends who was probably waring those clothes out of mourning, but less than a minute later, she vanished. The next morning, Mrs. Cooper got word that her friend had been killed by a burglar sometime after the party while the friend was in bed. Over the next two years, similar occurrences happened. Mrs. Cooper finally decided she needed answers. Fortunately, she learned that Darla and her friends are paranormal investigators and contacted them. So, Darla, the other Groovy Ghosties, and even Orlando, came to Kinsale, Ireland. They investigated the locket and it was definitely haunted. Since they could not do much about it, they decided to take the locket back to Sternbild to be locked in their artifact room.
Robin seemed to have taken a great interest in the locket. However, he is still unable to get inside the artifact room. He searches the desks until he arrives at Steven's. He looks at the picture of the Holy Mother and tells her not to judge him. He turns down the picture to find Steven's copy of the key sitting behind it. He picks it up with a smile saying, "Amen." He takes the key and unlocks the door. He goes into the artifact room and looks around until he finally comes upon the locket. At first, Robin was a bit hesitant because of what he read, but shrugs it off as just a silly ghost story and says, "I already lost my marbles the day I decided to become a thief." So, he takes the locket in its box. But for extra cash, he also takes the pack of cards, the white gown, the red shoes, the music box, the melted candle (for some reason), and the knife.
Just after he put the items into his bag, he leaves the room only to run into the team, the heroes, and the crew who just returned from their case. The heroes try to catch him, but Robin just uses his powers to switch places with them to escape. Barnaby says that they have blind Robin first as his power require him to see that person while he is switching places with them.
Outside, Robin stops someplace to take another look at his loot. When he does, he gets a feeling that they are shaking for some reason. Suddenly, a mist comes in. It turns out Marcia was casting a spell. Origami shapeshifts into a ghost to try and scare Robin into dropping the bag. But just as he was about to sneak up to him, Tiger's phone rings. Robin hears this and realizes he is being tricked and flees. Agnes yells at Tiger for leaving the ringer on. Tiger apologizes and answer his phone to find it was a wrong number. The heroes go after Robin again. He manages to allude them until he was caught between Karl and Marcia who both activate their powers with Karl trying to tie him up and blind him with his aura and Marcia ready to cast a knock-out spell. However, Robin manages to see Karl well enough. They two were now charging at Robin, but he activates his powers ready to switch places with Karl. But as he was doing this, all the items in the bags also glow, but not blue like Robin, but a dark purplish color. Then, Robin trades places with Karl and Marcia nearly hits him. They look to see Robin had escaped them. But just as he was about to leave and the heroes and crew arrive when the bag begins to shake violently and explode. When the smoke cleared, they saw that the items in the bag have disappeared except for the locket. They heroes make a go for Robin, but he grabs the locket and switches places with a nearby workman. Robin escapes.
Later back at the warehouse, Steven checks the artifact room and to see if anything else had been taken. Karl also sees that Robin has accessed his computer. Kaede asks why the exorcism video was only of pictures and sounds. Karl says it would make the episode way too scary if they showed actual footage of an exorcism and to respect the victims and their families, they don't have reveal their identities. Karl finds the catalog and identifies what was stolen. Kotetsu asks what just happened with the bag exploding. Karl says that all NEXT have unique aura that become more active when their powers are activated. They discovered that when these powers are activated near the items in the artifact room, it causes some kind of reaction, as if the NEXT's powers were waking the items up. And last Karl and Marcia noticed, three NEXTs activated their powers around them. With that, the haunted, cursed, and ritual items are now fully awake. Karl says they need to find those items before they end up with people who will be endangered by their dark powers. Kotetsu and Barnaby say that they will do whatever they can to find them.
Meanwhile, on a roof somewhere, Robin is look down at the city when he looks at the locket his put around his neck. He is a bit disappointed that this was the only thing he could recover, though it would still fetch a price. However, Robin starts to get curious about what was inside. He tries to open the locket, but to no avail, almost as if it were welded shut. Robin just stares at the locket when he suddenly hears wailing sound. He looks up to the building across him and sees a woman wearing a black dress and a dark veil. Robin was a bit scared an looked away for only a second. He looks back to see she was gone. Robin's face beings to look grim with fear as the sound of the music box can be heard along with the sound of women cackling.
To be continued...

[The VEGA family is unpacking from their 3 month family reunion across the country. The house is filled with unpacked luggage all sprawled about. DAVID VEGA and HOLLY VEGA are unpacking the luggage and are chatting about the trip, while TRINA is talking on the phone about her re-audition. TORI is sitting on the family couch while she’s on the laptop, working on missing assignments due to her missing a few weeks of school.] TRINA: [Excited] So, I can get a re-audition this Friday after school? [Pause] You have no idea how tal- [Realization that the principle hung up on her] Wh- oh well. [TRINA dashed towards HOLLY and DAVID, excited]
TRINA: [Yelling] Mom! Dad! Guess who got a re-audition? HOLLY: [Holding a laundry basket full of laundry] [Interested] Oh? You got him to agree?
TRINA: [Excited] Yeah! It’s this Friday!
DAVID: [Grunts as he puts down the heavy luggage] Wait, this Friday? Your mom and I will be busy at work to watch over TORI- TORI: [Annoyed] Speaking of that, don’t you guys think I’m too old to be babysat? I’m 15, I’m old enough to have my own job. TRINA: [Places her hands on her hips and nods] Ya! Why can’t she just invite a couple of her friends over, so she won’t be home alone? HOLLY: You know how I feel about that..
[TORI huffs in annoyance as she goes back into working on her missing assignments. TRINA sighs in disappointment as HOLLY goes back into loading the laundry basket with dirty clothes. DAVID gets done with carrying heavy luggage, he walks into another room to rest.  HOLLY thinks of an idea. She stops what she’s doing.] HOLLY: You and TORI are going to the re-auditions on Friday, together. TRINA: Bu- HOLLY: No buts. You both are going and that’s final. TRINA: [Groans loudly] Fiiinneee… [Bossily, to TORI] But you better not mess this up for me! I don't want another fifth birthday fiasco! [TRINA loudly and sassily stomps into her room, upstairs. HOLLY finishes putting the last bits of dirty clothing onto the laundry basket and walks out of the main living room and into the laundry room. TORI looks around and sees that everybody left.]
TORI: [Squeals in excitement] I’m going to Hollywood Arts! Oh my god!! [Squeals even more]
SCENE 2
[TORI and TRINA are waiting backstage. The backstage looks a bit chaotic with students running around, making sure they have everything set for the re-auditions. TRINA sits there patiently as TORI looks around the room, looking very bored.]
TORI: [Groaning in boredom] Ughh, this is so boriiing
TRINA: [Calmly] Now now, Tori, remember that virtue.
TORI: [Matter-of-factly] You mean patience?
TRINA: [Annoyed] Yeah yeah, that.
TORI: And it's “Patience is a virtue”, Trina.
TRINA: Whatever! Potato, poe-tah-tow
[A black boy is sitting next to them, holding a book with some pieces of paper stuck out of it. He weighs his opinion in.]
ANDRE: Actually, she's right. It’s “patience is a virtue” and nobody says poe-tah-tow.
TORI: Riiiight? Now just imagine living with her!
ANDRE: Yeah, I definitely don't know what it's like.
TRINA: [Angrily] I can hear you two, you know?!
TORI: [Smugly] That was the point.
[ANDRE gets a video call from ANDRE’S GRANDMA]
ANDRE: [Holds finger up] Hold up, I gotta take this.
[ANDRE answers the video call]
ANDRE’S GRANDMA: [On the phone, loudly and paranoid] ANDRE! WHY IS THERE A TINY MAN STUCK ON THAT BOY’S HAND?!
ANDRE: That's just a ventriloquist, grandma!
ANDRE’S GRANDMA: [Screaming] WHEN YOU GONNA DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE RAIN IN MY BATHROOM?!
ANDRE: [Annoyance] Grandma, I told you that’s just your shower! I gotta go, bye.
ANDRE’S GRANDMA: [Cautioning] Boy don’t you hang your phone up on me-
[ANDRE hangs up the video call]
ANNOUNCER: ANDRE HARRIS! YOU’RE UP NEXT!
ANDRE: [Gets up] I’d better get going. See you ladies around.
[ANDRE does a two finger salute as he leaves to the main stage. TORI is bored again. TRINA seems to be too busy reviewing her re-audition script to notice.]
TORI: You know what? [Looks at TRINA with determination in her eyes] I’m gonna help those people there. [points at a literal redhead girl and a Jewish boy with an afro and a puppet.]
[TORI walks up to them]
TORI: [Confident] Do y’all need help?
[They both turned towards TORI while holding some heavy equipment. ROBBIE seems to be struggling with his heavy load while CAT seems fine with her lighter load. The puppet is on top of the heavy load ROBBIE is holding]
ROBBIE: [Relieved] Oh god, yes!
[ROBBIE hurriedly gave TORI the heavy load he was carrying. Startled, she stumbles back as the weight sets in on her. ROBBIE grabs a nearby load that seems to be lighter and the three of them starts walking to their destination.]
TORI: [Strained] I forgot to tell y’all my name, I’m Tori. I don’t go to this school, I go to Sherwood High-
CAT: [Excited] Oh Sherwood High? The public school? My brother used to go to that school [downcast] till he got expelled..
TORI: [Curious] Why did he get expelled? [shifts the weight of the heavy equipment]
[They reached their destination. TORI and ROBBIE puts down their equipment.]
CAT: Oh, [puts the equipment down] he dumped a bucket full of blood on a teacher.. [sits down on top of the equipment, lost in space]
TORI: [Disturbed] Wait, real- real blood or-
ROBBIE: [Panics and changes the topic] Anyways.. [CAT snaps out of it] My name’s ROBBIE, [Points at CAT] her name is CAT-
TORI: Oh! Like the animal!
CAT: [Offended] What’s that supposed to mean?!
TORI: [Confused but scared] Uh.. Nothing.. I love cats..
ROBBIE: Anyways.. We’re freshman in this school
[ROBBIE puts the puppet on his hands]
REX: [Irritated] You forgot about me!
[TORI looks shocked as the puppet reveals that he can talk but then remembered that ROBBIE is a ventriloquist]
ROBBIE: [Hurt] I was gonna introduce you..
REX: [Irritated] You didn’t cause you wanna keep this hot piece of woman all to yourself!
TORI: [Repulsed] Excuse me?
REX: [Proudly] Ya, I said it. You’re one fine-
ROBBIE: [Panicking and yelling] REX!
[ROBBIE covers REX’s mouth. REX struggles to talk, his head is shaking erratically until he realizes he can’t do anything so he gives up. TORI looks shocked, disgusted, and confused.]
CAT: [Pitiful] Don’t worry, Rex does this to every girl he sees..
[REX bites ROBBIE’S hand.]
ROBBIE: [Lets go of REX while yelping] OW!
REX: [Forthright and smugly] I’ve never done it to you..
[CAT gasps in shock and is hurt]
ROBBIE: [Furious] Ok mister, that’s a time out for you
[CAT opens a box and swiftly places the large equipment out of the box.]
REX: [Begging] GAH WAIT NO PLEASE I TAKE IT BACK!
[ROBBIE shoves REX inside the box and flips it upside down. TORI stands there uncomfortably in the midst of it all. A few moments later, they start unpacking the boxes, TORI moves a bit close to CAT.]
TORI: [Hesitantly] [Whispers to CAT] Did ROBBIE just hit on me secretly?
CAT: [Whispers back to TORI] [Giggling] No! He has decency.. [Adjusts the knobs and wires of the sound equipment] Him and Rex are different people. Rex is an alter, Robbie had to learn how to speak without moving his mouth so Rex can speak without complicating things..
TORI: [Confused] [Still whispering] Alter?
CAT: [Confused] [Whispering]  Um.. ya? People can have multiple people living inside one body.
TORI: [Half realization] Oh..
[They finish setting up the equipment, cleaning up the stray wires]
ANNOUNCER: [Calling] TRINA VEGA!
[TRINA runs towards the main stage in a rush]
TRINA: Coming-
TORI: [Struggling to untangle herself from the mess of wires.] TRINA, wait!
[TRINA trips on a stray wire and harshly falls down, face planting in front of the teachers. She groans in agony. TORI, ROBBIE, CAT, and the teachers/judges rushes towards TRINA in a panic. They drag her back to the back stage. They sat her on a chair. TRINA feels around her mouth and spits out two front teeth and some blood. She begins to cry as TORI panics. The teachers try to comfort her.]
TORI: [Nervously] TRINA, it’ll be ok..
[TORI rubs TRINA’s back as she attempts to comfort her distressed sister]
TRINA: [Sobbing even more] [with a lisp] No, ith’sth the nasth nay! I can’th new ith like thisth!
[TORI comes up with an idea. Thrilled, she grabs a teacher’s attention.]
TORI: [Confidently] Can I talk to you in a quieter place?
[The teacher nods and they walk to a calmer area.]
TORI: [Confidently] Can I audition in place of my sister?
TEACHER: [Thinking] Ah.. You can.. But..
TORI: [Curious] But??
TEACHER: You have to make a song on the spot, including a full performance with choreography.
TORI: [Stage-fright] O-Oh.. [Makes up her mind] I’ll take it!
SCENE 3
[TORI walked onto the main stage wearing a leather jacket, black pants, and a bright red crop top sweater. She held the microphone nervously and kept her eyes on the floor. The teachers on the judge table looked at her, expectantly.]
TORI: [Slight confidence] I’m singing “Make it Shine”
[The teachers nodded and wrote on their clipboards. TORI hesitantly cue the sound technicians. They start playing the instrumentals. TORI stood there and sang. It started out a bit off key but she got more confident the more she sang. TORI started dancing along to the music, doing full on improvised choreography. The performance ends with the teachers applauding and cheering. TORI was sweaty, but she felt accomplished. The applause died down]
TORI: [Rests her posture] [Worn out] So.. How was that?
TEACHER: [Awe-struck] Amazing! You and your sister are going to Hollywood Arts!
TORI: [Shocked] I’m going too?! TEACHER: [Confused by TORI’S bewilderment] Yes? You are clearly very talented. So talented that you can easily fit in Hollywood Arts. [TRINA, DAVID, and HOLLY ran from stage left from the backstage to hug TORI as they heard the news.] DAVID and HOLLY: [Jumping up and down while holding TORI] OUR BABY GIRL IS GOING TO HOLLYWOOD ARTS! [Scene ends with the family in celebration. Hugging TORI tightly and jumping about, but TORI looks more nervous than excited.]

Kindred Souls - Chapter 9: Prelude
Fandom: Assassin’s Creed
Words: 1626
Wá:ri woke up, feeling good, for a change. She sat up on the bed while rubbing her eyes and then she looked around the room. Shay’s room. The Irishman was fast asleep next to her. Wá:ri got up quietly, without making noise. She walked to the other side of the bed and pulled the bed sheets up to cover Shay.
She ate by herself in the kitchen, while she thought about the day ahead they had ahead of them. Her and Shay had planned on going after her siblings, before they came after them. With Layla gone, they had no choice but to go on the offensive. Her sister’s word choice had made them think she had come after them accompanied, but it had turned out she had come alone. But she knew Layla had told someone. She must've told Francis…
“Good morning, lass.”
Shay’s greeting scared Wá:ri, making her jump in place.
“Oh! Good morning.”
Shay approached her and kissed her on the lips, taking her breath away. It was only when he pulled away that she noticed he was still shirtless and his hair was untied. She was frozen for a second, looking at him.
“What is it? Cat got your tongue?” Shay asked, with a devilish smile on his face.
Wá:ri came back to reality with those words. “No, I’m fine. It’s just… I was thinking of what’s to come.”
“You don’t have to do this la-”
“Yes I do, Shay.” Wá:ri interrupted, getting one step closer to him and staring him dead in the eyes, “I have no choice but to do this… All of those people we killed died in vain, but the Rhodes will die for a good cause.”
Shay glared at her, seemingly angry. “And what good will that do?! Do you think their deaths will make you feel better about yourself? I can tell you from experience that you won’t feel any better when they’re gone.”
Wá:ri was heated. “I just don’t want them to kill any more innocent people!” She opened her arms and shook her head in a confused gesture, “And don’t you worry about my feelings! I know I’ll feel like shit, but that’s not the point!”
Shay still looked angry, but regretful about what he said, “Wá:ri, I-”
“Fuck you,” she said, pushing him out of the way, and storming off of the kitchen.
It was nearly dusk when she finally came out of her room. After arguing, Wá:ri simply went to her room and stayed there. She came out for a meal, around noon, but neither of them directed any words towards each other.
Now, she was getting ready. This time, she chose to do her hair like her mother, and many of the women from her village: two low braids, one on each side. It had barely been a full day since she had gotten that outfit and it was already growing on her. The pants were tight and so were the boots. The sleeveless jacket was perfect, as it allowed her to move her arms more freely and the light grey color of it all made her feel reborn. Although she could do without the red touches, here and there.
Wá:ri walked down the stairs and saw Shay, fully dressed in his Templar garments, by the kitchen. It was when she got to the bottom of the stairs that Shay noticed her coming. She wanted to say something to him as an apology for how she acted earlier. She didn’t think she was wrong, but she was aware of how harsh she had been.
“Shay?”
“Yes?”
He looked saddened, and maybe a bit hurt.
“I’m sorry about earlier, but I need you to understand something,” she said, now standing in front of him, “I know that you’re worried about me, but I don’t matter in this situation.”
Shay was taken aback. “Everyone matters, lass. Don’t say that.”
Wá:ri knew then, that they simply saw things differently, but she still needed his understanding. “The way I see it is that my feelings are nothing compared to the lives of those my family have killed… Or could kill if I don’t get to them first.”
Shay had a distant look about him. “I can’t help but see myself in you, lass…” He looked away as he sighed, passing his hand through his shaved beard, “I’ll help you… Just know this won’t be easy for me, either,” he laughed.
“Thank you,” she smiled.
“What’s the plan, then?” Shay asked.
Wá:ri had spent all that time in her room thinking about her next step. She knew from the start she had to go after her siblings before getting to her father. Afterall, they were the ones carrying out the killings. If she had to choose a first target, it would be Francis, as he was by far the biggest threat. If any of them have a chance against Shay, it’s Francis.
“We’re going after Francis, my older brother,” she started, “He’s usually at a tavern or by the docks, at night. But that would be under a normal circumstance…”
“Maybe he’s at home, would it be too risky to attack them head on?”
Wá:ri was worried about Shay’s safety as well. She really didn’t want anything to happen to him, especially not because of her. “It would be too dangerous. Francis alone could take you on, and I’m not sure if I can take on Kevin… And there’s also Robbie…”
Shay looked surprised, “Robbie?”
“He’s my youngest brother,” She looked at Shay with a scared expression, “He’s only seventeen... He’s not bad as an assassin, and he is very loyal to my father. I don’t know if I can kill him, he was as much in the dark as me…” She covered her face with her hands, hoping that might stop the tears from pouring out.
“Lass I…” Shay stopped himself from talking, and hugged her.
Thank you Shay… Thank you so much...
After a few seconds, Shay let go of Wá:ri and she recomposed herself.
“Alright, let’s not think about it now,” she sniffed, “Let’s look for Francis around the docks, hopefully we’ll find him,” she said.
It was almost evening, but the sun was still setting on the horizon. On any other occasion, that view might have been romantic, but not then. The duo made their way around the place, with Wá:ri taking the lead, as she was more familiar with the docks. They weren’t sneaking around by any means, as the docks were still filled to the brim with merchants and sailors. They eventually made it to a spot, on top a shipyard, from where they could spot the area where the Rhodes’ usually did business, and coasted there, watching everything.
They waited for a whole hour until everyone started leaving. “No luck today, I guess…” Wá:ri sighed.
“I make my own luck.”
Wá:ri laughed. “Please…”
Shay reciprocated the laugh, which ended up not being a long one. She had spotted something.
“Kevin!” Wá:ri suddenly pointed out.
The second youngest of the Rhodes siblings was walking outside in his uniform, which meant he was closing out a deal. He was accompanied by a man about the same height as him, but he was wearing a large tricorn hat, so she couldn’t ascertain his age.
Wá:ri’s eyes were glued on her younger brother. “Shay, we have to take this chance…”
Shay had started sighing a lot more ever since he met Wá:ri, and at that moment, he added another one to that collection. “Shouldn’t we back off and wait for a chance to take down Francis, first?”
“Maybe, but Kevin is off guard! Kevin is never off guard!” She exclaimed.
Shay hesitated “Alright, let’s tail him then. I’ll take the roofs, since you know the ground better than I do.”
Wá:ri nodded in agreement and jumped down from the building, but not before Shay could tell her to be careful. She wasn’t too keen on taking the advice, though. She actually planned on killing Kevin as soon as she had the chance, as seeing him so vulnerable was rare. So much so that it was the first time she had seen it in almost two decades of living with him.
She tailed him for a bit, walking in between shipyards, boxes, and hiding behind houses and other buildings. Sometimes she could hear Shay jumping from a building to another. After a while, Wá:ri, they had simply walked from one side of the docs to the other, and it was completely deserted - there wasn’t a single soul in sight, besides their targets, who had stopped moving, and seemed to be talking.
Something was off, but she didn’t know what was going on. She walked closer to her targets, risking detection. She got behind a stack of boxes, left outside, and tried peeking at Kevin and his client from there.
Kevin looked the same as in any other day, but something about his client caught her eye. He was wearing quite baggy clothing, like a tunic, and the tricorn on top of it all looked ridiculous. It seemed like he was trying to hide some-
Wá:ri’s heart went haywire by pure instinct. The thought ‘It’s almost like he’s trying to hide something’ made her take a closer look at Kevin’s client. Upon taking a closer look at his face, she felt her body heat up from top to bottom as she noticed who it was. Those eyes. Those dark eyes, like hers and Kevin’s. She realized at that moment that… Kevin’s client was none other than their youngest sibling - Robbie.
It’s a trap…

Green
Green is the color of nature, life and it's associated with balance, harmony and growth. It reminds of spring and rebirth, hope and peace. A mix between yellow and blue, it's the color of people with a strong sense of right or wrong, those who always consider all the options and end up making the most appropriate choice, even though sometimes they can get too rigid or over-cautious. It's a color we see a lot in Simon, it's almost like his signature one (even his backpack is green). He's introduced as a teenager with stability and self-confidence. He's loyal and down-to-earth, a reliable friend. He has solid values, high moral sense and we can find all these meanings in green. But this color is also associated with immaturity and coming to life and for Simon this is particularly true related to his sexuality and his whole story arc. He tends to wear mostly olive green, color of peace, but also of deceit. It shows a strength of character and therefore the ability to overcome difficulties. In 1x02 he wears this color several times: first at rehearsal, when he looks anxious (but he hides it) at the idea of kissing Jeremy and again later in the episode when he and Jeremy rehearse the scene for the first time. Green helps calming nervousness and we see Simon's inner peace (and therefore his values and the image he had always had of himself) shaking. Then he wears an olive-green hoodie when he talks with Lilette about the study date with Jeremy and he overthinks, getting judgmental about what people might say about it. As mentioned above, olive green is related to deceit: despite having said yes to the date with Jeremy, Simon later asks Anabelle for a date on the same day (in a previous scene of this episode we see that she has some kind of crush or interest in him, while he doesn't). But this “deceit” doesn't mean Simon is a bad character or that he decides to intentionally hurt Anabelle; green is the color of inexperience, inner reflection and when he feels something new in himself he still can’t accept, he ends up doing everything he can to restore the lost balance and get back to his core values (being straight and have a girlfriend).
Tumblr media
Green is associated to healing and consolation. In 1x03 Simon wears again the long-sleeved t-shirt when he sings “Left behind” at one of the last rehearsals before leaving. The song is about mourning the death of a friend and someway it's like the other troupe kids are saying goodbye to him too (green is linked also to putrefaction and death). Always as sign of comfort he wears it in the scene with his sister, when she's sad to see him leaving Stanton High and he does his best to console her. Practical and down-to-earth, green speaks with clarity. Simon knows the reason why he's leaving is Spring Awakening, but he's strongly against any changes in the play, because the truth is sacred and nothing is more important than that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Green as indifference and illness (not physical, here) can be seen in Simon wearing a green t-shirt at dinner, in 1x05, when his parents asks him about St. Francis and he says he doesn't want to do theatre. He doesn't want to complain or fight, but at the same time he's clearly not happy. The light blue hoodie intensifies these feelings (see the blue post). Jeremy doesn't wear much green instead and, when he does, it's mostly a brighter shade than Simon's - linked to his more spontaneous nature. In episode 1x02 he wears bright jade green shorts at rehearsal, during the Spring Awakening vineyard scene. In a moment of anxiety for Simon, Jeremy wearing jade green inspires trust and confidentiality: they both realize something is blooming between them, but it remains unsaid. Jeremy also does his best to make Simon feel at ease, smiling and patiently waiting for him to do his part of the scene. He's sympathetic and encourages him without speaking. Jade green is in fact also the color of generosity of spirit. In 1x03 we see him first with a forest green t-shirt when Simon announces to the troupe that he's leaving for St. Francis. He's heartbroken to know that Simon won't be at Stanton High anymore and since green can be seen as Simon signature color, it's linked to him and the feelings he has for the other boy. His hope of getting closer to Simon and let grow what was just, perhaps, born between them crashes. The green is vivid and this is a sign of Jeremy's feelings being more intense and clearer than Simon's, but always with a touch of inexperience. We see this t-shirt again in 1x06 in the scene where the troupe is putting the set pieces together (growth, anticipation of things to come).
Tumblr media
Always in 1x03 he wears jade green pants when Simon is singing at rehearsal. This time the link between the two boys is clearer, since Simon is wearing green too and, even though it's a choral scene, they both have basically the same outfits of the vineyard scene rehearsal of the previous episode. In 1x09, during the talk between him and Simon, he's wearing pale olive-green pants, as symbol of peace, since it's the first time they really talk after the fight of 1x06. In addition, this shade of green here stands for understanding (he finally gets the reason behind Simon's behavior with him) and caring for the feelings of others – expressed also by the tartan pattern of this shirt (see the tartan post to know more).

They’re all gone!
“Something is very, very wrong in the world.”
Bob, who was mostly asleep on the couch despite knowing there was a guinea pig loose in the house and he was highly allergic, cracked open an eye. “I’m tired.”
“You can’t sleep right now! What’s wrong with you? There is obviously some parallel universe merging with ours or the world is about to end because they’re all gone so we need to take advantage of it.” Sarah looked at him like he was crazy.
“And do what?” Bob yawned and then gave her a funny look
“I don’t know. Pretend we’re not almost past the mid forties age? We could get drunk or go have sex somewhere we shouldn’t… or even just have sex at all. I’m willing to let you in my pants even though I’m this pregnant.”
“You haven’t been able to wear pants in two and a half months, Sar. All you’ve been wearing is dresses.”
“Easy access?” She gave him a look. “While you’ve been playing Sleeping Beauty, Jake picked up Sammy since they’re taking the girls to that exhibit, Charlie and Brady don’t live here anymore… Shouldn’t we take advantage of the situation?”
“Uh, we do have the mini you running around here. Wait, why’s it so quiet?”
“I told you. All of the kids are gone. Literally all of them! Mallory picked Em up three minutes ago. She’s going to Aroostook with them—and, yes, I told them they are not to let her see my parents or aunts and uncles at any cost for even two minutes… not that your brother or Mallory would have let that happen anyway… or my brothers, who she will get to see…”
“Wait.” Bob sat up. “We have not had a day without kids—even more than one hour outside of the workday without a kid, since we were 21.”
“I know! I don’t know what to do. I cleaned this morning thinking we were going to do something with Em, you and she got the groceries yesterday, Sam took care of the turtles, and I put out random tufts of hay for Henry whenever and wherever he chooses to show up.” Sarah said. “Do you think the apocalypse is coming? No matter what is going on, sex is the answer. Where would the riskiest place be in New York City? I’ll go get the laptop.”
Bob looked around the room from his seat on the couch, very confused. “Maybe our dear president has come up with a plan to take all kids… and it wasn’t really Jake and Mallory that took them… it’s all robots and they’re going to use them for the worser bad.”
“Worser bad?”
“You know… like greater good? But the opposite?”
“You’re one of the top fifteen lawyers in the county and that is what you come up with? The state of the country really is in disarray.” Sarah joked.
“I don’t know what to do… Should I go to work?”
“Is it Saturday? Maybe it was a dream and we’re supposed to be at work… although if I got fired, I’d be totally okay with it.”
“Yeah, no you wouldn’t. You’d cry for days because you’re pregnant and hormonal.”
“That’s true.” Sarah sighed. “Plus, I like knowing Charlie’s alive the days we work together at least. He’s just so busy.”
“Yeah. He’s us at 22.” Bob nodded. “Baby, school, and a job.”
“I don’t know what to do without kids.” Sarah whined. “Let’s just have sex here—”
Bob perked up.
Sarah stood and then cringed. “Never mind. He just woke up.”
Bob groaned.
“You’re the one that freaks out when the babies kick during sex. You only have yourself to blame.” Sarah shrugged. “I could care less. He kicks me all day anyway.”
“Yeah, no.” Bob sighed.
Both of their eyes lit up when the door opened and Blaine came in.
“Thank God!” Sarah went to hug him.
“Hi.” Blaine hugged her back, giving Bob a confused look.
Sure, Sarah had given him hugs before. But not as soon as he walked in the door. Honestly, she was usually busy attempting to control Emily or arguing with Sam to get him to leave Fortnite and ‘spend five minutes with the family.’ Which usually then led to Bob demanding he come and spend fifteen minutes with them after Sam ignored Sarah.
“They’re all gone!” Sarah said. “But you’re here now so all is right in the world.”
Bob shook his head and covered his face… mainly because Blaine didn’t know Sarah that well.
“Do I ever get to meet your partner? You need to bring him over. I know weekdays are tough because Robbie makes you stay until 11:00 at night.” Sarah said. “But—”
“I what?” Bob looked at her. “Sar, he’s not doing cases yet. He has to… you know… pass the bar exam. All he does is watch me and I don’t make anybody stay until 11:00 at night!”
“God, that must be horrible having to watch him all day.” Sarah looked at Blaine, facial expression very serious. “Is he paying you to pretend to like him? Level with me here.”
“No.” Blaine laughed.
“It was the hug after the talk about your parents, wasn’t it? He gives really good hugs. He has since we were eleven.” Sarah looked thoughtful. “It can’t be your sunny disposition, Robbie.”
Blaine bit back a smile as Sarah smiled sweetly at Bob.
“He wasn’t always this grumpy.” She told Blaine, looking back at him. “If he would lower his number of cases, he would be a lot happier.”
“Each case brings the firm more money which brings me more money which really means it brings you more money to spend on expensive clothes for our eight year old.” Bob said. “You were the one who was so gung ho about Tammy and I opening CMJ in the first place.”
“Well, we needed the extra money.”
“Well… we’ll need the extra money again if I cut down my caseload.”
“Don’t text your mother or sister!” Sarah reached over and grabbed the cell phone he had just unlocked. “Cut the cord.”
Bob glared at her, handing her his other phone since she was still holding her hand out. Without even looking at Blaine he said, “Shut up, Blaine.”
“I didn’t say anything.” Blaine said, trying not to smile.
“I don’t know why everyone is so scared of him.” Sarah said.
“It’s because he’s so quiet.” Blaine answered. “I think it makes people nervous.”
“Yeah. You and Ryan say he’s quiet but I don’t see it when he’s home.” Sarah said.
Blaine looked at Bob, surprised.
“Then again you were really quiet until we had dated for a couple of months… but you haven’t really shut up since.” Sarah looked at Bob and then Blaine. “He was so cute. He used to have all of these freckles and he was so quiet but so sweet… that boy is gone. He is still sweet, though.”
Bob rolled his eyes and muttered something. Blaine didn’t catch most of it but did hear ‘always bringing up my freckles.’
“Are you excited for the baby?” Blaine asked her.
“We are. Honestly, we weren’t even supposed to be able to get pregnant with Emily so it’s more exciting.” She smiled. “I think the timing coinciding with the big move and Robbie’s dad dying makes it a little more difficult but, you know… we always wanted a big family. I have three siblings, he’s got four… and his mom is super over the moon about it… she kind of baby’s Robbie still, though, so there was no surprise there.”
“It’s true.” Bob admitted. “I think it’s because I’m the youngest and quietest.”
“Enough about us! How are you? What did you go to undergrad for? Do you like to read or are you more of a movie person?” Sarah asked interestedly. “Sorry. The last three times I’ve seen you I’ve had to run out for work or I’ve been wrangling children so I have to take advantage now…”
“Oh.” Blaine looked surprised as Bob rolled his eyes.
“Well I have an English degree from UK—well, the University of Kentucky.” Blaine said. “I’m from a small town in Ohio and went to an all-boys school. I’m pretty boring… and I love books but really like movies too.”
“UK and English? But you’re about to be a lawyer?”
“Honestly I had no idea what to do.” Blaine admitted. “I was kind of, uhm, preoccupied the two years you were supposed to focus on that in high school, so I didn’t even declare until I was in the beginning of my fourth semester.”
“Did you get a scholarship?” She asked eagerly.
Bob looked at her, confused, but must have chose to let his pregnant wife go for it.
“I actually got four scholarships but not to UK. I got four soccer ones… I turned them down to be closer to Kurt, though.”
“Brady played soccer but he’s not doing it in college. He was a goal keeper most of the time but there were a few times he would be put in as a midfielder. He didn’t like that a lot, though. What were you?”
“Center forward so the one that always got knocked down.” Blaine laughed. “But I’m shorter so it saved me from getting knocked down more.”
“So tell me about Kurt. You’re older than him?”
“Well we’re the same age but his birthday fell after right after the age cut off for schools… but he was in a graduate program at Parson’s here in the city. It’s two years and Harvard is three so we still graduated the same year… We were really happy that CMJ opened an office here because the long distance was really hard.” Blaine bit his lip.
“The worst!” Sarah agreed. “It’s awful being only ‘a few hours away’ but being so busy that you can barely see each other… and when you do, you’re so tired from school and traveling to see each other… I couldn’t do that again.”
“Luckily we won’t have to.” Bob said.
“What does Kurt do?” Sarah asked Blaine.
“He actually works for Marc Jacobs… he had an internship in school before but he accepted a real job and he’s kind of… already the second highest person ranked under Marc.” Blaine bit his lip. “Which is honestly kind of crazy. We thought it would take years.”
“Wait, what?” Sarah asked.
“Who is that?” Bob asked.
Sarah turned to look at him and asked, “What rock do you live under?”
“The rock of CMJ and the Colloway household?” Bob asked.
“He’s a really popular fashion designer based out of here. Kurt works on a lot of the pieces that get put out.” Blaine said. “Marc really likes him so he’s moving up pretty quick.”
“Oooh, he’s going to be so rich one day.” Sarah said. “What does he wear to work?”
Bob gave her a weird look. “What kind of question is that?”
“Well I read that designers don’t really dress up for work. They save the creativity for creating designs.” Sarah shrugged.
“He actually usually just wears jeans or work pants and a button down. He dressed up at first but after the first six months he just… did exactly what you said. Unless there’s a big visit or client or something and then he’ll spend days picking out an outfit to wear… only to change it the morning of.” Blaine laughed. “He said there was not point in dressing up otherwise since he was high up enough and he’d already impressed Marc.”
“Have you met him?” Sarah asked.
“No.” Blaine shook his head. “Not yet but I think we’re supposed to go to his house or somewhere for dinner sometime soon so… that’ll be interesting, I guess?”
“Do you care about fashion at all?”
“Uhm… well, I like to look nice and I have good clothes for work and when I need to dress up… but I never wear anything like that outside of work. Okay, well, not too dressy at least. In the summer I like shorts and t-shirts which kills him… waiting four hours for him to get ready to gout kills me, so I guess it evens out.”
“Do you have friends here?” Sarah asked.
“Oh yeah!” Blaine nodded. “My two best friends actually have jobs here in New York City and I’m pretty close with someone at the office. We went to Harvard together… he’s actually getting married to his partner soon.”
“Matthew Caldwell?! Oh my God. I love him. Honestly when I found out he was gay, I really kind of wished that Charlie was gay and not already married because I just love him so much. He’s hilarious and he’s always got that dopey grin… and he’s built.”
“Matt is barely 23 and we’ve known him since he was 7, Sar.” Bob looked at her like she was crazy. “Did you really wish Charlie was gay?”
“No… Maybe as long as we still get to have Katie every other weekend.” Sarah paused. “However, I’m not entirely convinced about Brady still even if he’s got this girlfriend. I’m sorry. A mom knows when her baby is in love and he’s not in love with that girl… so I’m kind of hoping he’ll come out.”
“Brady is not gay.” Bob looked at her like he was crazy again. “It’s his first girlfriend. Do you know how many Jake went through before he and Liz just dated and let us all get on with the rest of our lives?”
“Mmmh, we’ll see.” She shrugged.
“I think I would know if he was gay.” Bob looked at Blaine. “Is he gay?”
“I’ve… only met him twice. Maybe three times?” Blaine said as if it were a question. “I don’t know? I don’t think I have very good gaydar. Kurt could probably tell you. Sorry.”
“No. It’s okay.” She sighed. “So… movies or books?”
“Books.”
“Very important question…” Sarah said slowly.
Bob rolled his eyes.
“Harry Potter… or Lord of the Rings?” Sarah asked.
“That’s not even a question. I read the Sorcerer’s Stone, Chamber of Secret, Prisoner of Azkaban, and Half Blood Prince within, like, eight hours… Order of the Phoenix took longer because when Sirius died, part of me died with him… Goblet of Fire was two days but only because I had the flu… and Deathly Hallows took a week because I got spoiled and couldn’t bear to read it because Dobby? And Fred?” Blaine said. “You lure us in with great characters and then you kill them all… then you say Dumbledore is gay and, excuse me, why isn’t she mentioning that in the book?” Blaine huffed.
“Okay…” Bob said slowly. “He and Charlie could be the same person.”
“I know!” Sarah gasped. “I was thinking that! What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?”
“Uhm I went to Canada, got really drunk, Wes’ head went through a hotel wall, and we smuggled a dog back into the country? I mean, that doesn’t compare to the DUI but you already know that.” Blaine nodded. “Oh and… actually go to law school. That was crazy.”
“Are you and Kurt going to get married and have kids?”
“Yeah, eventually.” Blaine nodded. “We’ve talked about it but everything is pretty hectic right now. We’ve been together since we were 17, though, and his dad is definitely pushing hard for it.”
“Oh, I bet his parents love you. You’re precious.” Sarah gasped.
“They like me enough.” Blaine laughed, somewhat embarrassed. “I’ve been in the family a long time so they’re honesty like my family now.”
“That’s how Bob’s family is with me.” Sarah smiled and then looked at Bob. “He’s too sweet. You better not corrupt him.”
“How would I corrupt him?”
“Look at Sam.” She said and turned to Blaine. “I know that Sam doesn’t look anything like Robbie but, looks aside, he is his father. They literally sleep in the same position, make the same facial expressions… he even does the ‘yep’ thing and the annoyed ‘I wish murder was legal’ expression.”
Blaine laughed as one of Bob’s phone began to rang.
Sarah looked at it, scowled, and handed it over.
“Hey, Tammy.” Bob sighed, leaving the room.
Blaine looked at Sarah. “Does that happen a lot?”
“Yeah.” She nods. “It’ll happen to you too, I’m sure. There’s always something coming up.”
“That must suck.” Blaine frowned.
“No. I mean, it does but you get used to it. There’s no point in getting upset over it because I know he can’t help it.” She smiled. “I hope you know you are welcome here any time. Robbie really cares about you and the kids all love you. So, I hope you won’t feel weird or anything but I guess I’m kind of adopting you too since we’re a joint package.”
Blaine smiled back. “He’s been really great. You both have, really.”
“Oh, he’s the best. He’s got a really good heart and he is amazing with the kids and with his family… and he’ll go out of his way to help anyone.” She made herself more comfortable on the couch, looking at him.
“Is it weird?”
“He’s the weird one, not you. Just accept it.” Sarah laughed a bit. “I don’t have a great family either so he’s had the protective bone for a very long time. He’s the sweetest but he’ll also probably go to jail to protect the ones he loves… and he does love you. I think he probably did a long time before that day when he told you. I promise that he is not the one to use that word lightly. I think he probably loved me for a year before he actually said it.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. He used to get really anxious and he can also be shy.” She nodded, voice quieter—probably because she was talking about Bob and he was in the next room. “It’s gotten a lot better since he started law and had to force himself to talk to people more and stuff, though. As much as he can hate being a lawyer sometimes, it’s really done a lot of good for him mentally.”
“I’m sorry you had a bad family.” Blaine looked at her.
“I’m sorry you did too… but you did very well in finding a Bob.” She scrunched up her nose. “That sounds so weird. Bob. But he says anything is better than Robert.”
“I think it’s odd to hear you and Jake call him Robbie.” Blaine admitted.
“Oh, the more you’re around the more you’ll hear it. I’m pretty sure only people at the office or acquaintances only call him Bob.” She said. “However, if you ever go to Maine with us, all you’ll hear is Robbie or Rob—and he hates to be called Rob more than Robert.”
“That’s good to know because if he annoys me, I can call him that.”
“I knew I was going to like you.” Sarah grinned. “I guess the whole point of this conversation is… welcome to the family.”
“Thanks.” Blaine said, a little embarrassed but also relieved that Bob’s wife seemed to really like him too.
“Marc Jacobs, though? For real?” She asked as Bob came back in.
“Wanna go to Dairy Queen?” Bob asked, not aware she had just asked a question.
“Oh my God. I love you!” Sarah hopped up before he even finished the sentence and headed to the door.
“2:00 like clockwork.” Bob laughed, coming up to Blaine. “She is so predictable when she’s pregnant.”
“She’s really nice.”
“Mmmh that’s what you think now. Give it a couple of months and see her yell at Sammy. Then you’ll see her true colors.” Bob joked, motioning for Blaine to go through the front door. “People think I’m scary but you don’t want to piss her off.”
“Nobody judge me but I’m going to get a medium. I would get large but the doctor said I needed to cool it… although I still go at least twice a day.” Sarah announced, climbing into the back seat.
“I can sit in the back!” Blaine said.
“Already down and I need at least five minutes before I can get back up or I might pee.” Sarah chirped.
“Too much information, Sarah.” Bob groaned. “Way too much information.”
“Well don’t knock me up again and you won’t have to hear it again after February.”
Bob gave Blaine a look, opening the driver’s door.
“I saw that, Robbie.”

Episode 27 means there’s just one left (for now, duh duh DUH, let’s get those trombones good and fired up). I know I’m alone, but I’m gonna miss this garbage show because I’m gonna miss the SHIT out of fresh Louis (and Dermot, lbr) content twice weekly, so I decided to celebrate the penultimate episode by getting drunk with Sandy (one of my oldest, dearest friends, someone who’s not in this fandom but who watched the first six seasons of American Idol and has already gone on record as saying that Louis is way cute) and liveblogging her reactions (in quotes below). She made martinis and G&Ts with fancy-pants gin, which feels weirdly British to me, so let’s go! I’ll do tomorrow’s final ep sober, rip.
I’m still not over seeing red ribbons on this homophobic garbage fest or the fact that people don’t seemingly know what they represent, but why is everyone BUT Ayda wearing one tonight? Louis wearing a red ribbon makes me so weak; ditto Dermot.
“That’s Dermot??? He’s cuuuuute!” (Sandy’s from Woostah, so when she’s drunk, her accent is even more chowd than usual.)
“Ugh, Simon, gross, he looks like he just came out of a guttah, what's with the hair, what happened here???” Behold, beauty and the beast, and this doesn’t do justice to the weird eye wiggling from Simon in Louis’s direction, godddd, he’s the worst:
Tumblr media
Robbie does some kind of sad medley with the losers, and why do I have to see Bella again, but Sandy nails it: “Yeah, we’re the lou-sahs, oh, here we ah… we've got big white sneakahs on, that’s who we ah.” And even from this intro, Sandy, who’s immediately team Dalton from the five seconds he’s showcased, doesn’t get why Ant’ony’s here, can’t get a bead on why Scarlett’s the best of the best of female singers, either, uncanny, right? As for me, “Freedom” as a song for a show that Louis’s obligated to do? Okay! Hopefully, this means things are looking up!
Dermot kicks off the festivities by introducing Louis as “a man so loved, I might even scream myself,” and, yeah, hard same:
Tumblr media
I won’t get into Marky Mark’s b-roll antics, even though one of my weaknesses is footie Louis, which only proves how much I love you (cough, Kelli). Sandy calls Britain’s Marky Mark the poor man’s Johnny Bananas, and I have no idea what she means by that, but yeah, I guess. Me as her: “God, imagine Louis at 30, imagine seeing him in person, Jesus Christ. How old is Ant’ony again? Shouldn’t he be in the overs? He looks like a bridge troll, the Beatles don’t deserve this vibrato, why are Simon’s tits out, why is there a choir, shouldn’t he just be able to sing? American Idol Simon would have totally called this out for the bullshit it is, he’s an alcoholic now, isn’t he? ” And she’s not wrong on any of it, lmao.
Overall, Sandy’s read on Ant’ony: “Nah…if he had nailed ‘Let It Be,’ maybe.” (Not even then, but I appreciate her giving him a fighting chance.)
We transition from Marky Mark to Dalton, with Dermot saying to Louis, “We are back with you and your wonderful top,” lots of tittering in the arena, Sandy questioning why ANYONE with functioning eyes would consider Louis (or Harry) to be straightTM, and sigh.
I love Roman Kemp enough to squeak, “ROMAN!!” when Dalton does an interview with him. I also el oh el at the whole, “Let’s meet Louis’s sister and some rando none of us really get to hear about in Louis’s ‘house’ before at least two of them go to see Anne-Marie in Manchester.” Still, the sun…in a fake house…yeah:
Tumblr media
Unsurprisingly, Dalton blows us all away with his impeccable vocals (AND THAT JACKET). As Sandy says, “Wow, he’s awesome, he’s not even a contestant, why is he on this show, he should be on a label at this point.”
Scarlett’s up next next, and I’m wondering if Simon will show up to mentor, but of course a) he has to (nearly done), and b) it’ll take him about two hours, tops, which is laughable when you consider how much time everyone else has put in, especially comrade Louis. Unfortunately, Simon’s involvement means more Last Showman music.
Simon emotionlessly intones, “Vote for herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, we need her to win the X Factorrrrrrrrrrr,” and Scarlett comes out and does her trademark Adele Junior ~thing, but all I can think is, a) your mentor is creepy af:
Tumblr media
and b) “all the luck” sounds like “all the love.” I’ll still buy this pen, sbb:
Tumblr media
I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate Jimmy Artie, and even though Anne-Marie seems okay, nothing'll stop me from fast forwarding.
We get duets next, and none of us are interested in Ant’ony and Tom Walker (who?), but major points to Louis for saying, “Massive thank you to you, Tom, you’re an absolute gentleman,” etc. etc. (take notes if you need lessons on how to be gracious).
Dalton’s duet with Emile Sande is predictably grand, but I’m distracted by his Harry Styles cosplay:
Tumblr media
Sandy knows my brand well because she immediately picks up on this pen display moment:
Tumblr media
I can’t properly grab it, but at the one hour, eight minute mark, Louis springs into prime sbb and talks about how “foon” it is to drag Simon with everything he’s got, and I sob a little because this has been such a GREAT run, godddd, I’m gonna miss it.
George Ezra comes out to sing, and Sandy once again nails it by describing him as “some skinny, pale British guy with a guitar who wants to be Ed Sheerhan…I like his guitar, though, it’s cool.”
Hot take: Scarlett has to sing her duet with Robbie not because Simon’s lazy but because nobody else in the industry would agree to help him out.
God, the “crea’ive” on this tune is terrible: giant satellites for finding ET in the background? Nothing else would have worked here? Nothing from the Greatest Showman, even ?
A bit of live Renaissance art: Simon grinding his teeth while Louis composes a text to Harry and Robbie/Ayda make out:
Tumblr media
Sandy’s PISSED that this show just wasted 90 minutes of her life, and she won’t know what happens until I text her, but yeah, sob, one more to go. Meanwhile, she loves Bravo shows, and so do I, so let’s imagine this one;

Next Saturday (Beck Oliver X Reader)
WC: 1222
Warnings: It’s really cute, they tease Robbie a bit but it’s all light-hearted
Summary: Y/N Shapiro has been crushing on Beck Oliver for as long as she can remember, but little does she know that not only does Beck return her feelings, but wants to ask her to prom as well.
A/N: Lol I am highkey obsessed with Victorious so here we are! Imagine Jade and Beck didn’t date for this one. I hope you guys like this! Also there will be a part 2 to this.
Tumblr media
“Hey, what’s up guys?” Y/N said, taking my seat next to Cat at the cafeteria table.
“Your brother just told us he wears girl’s jeans,” Jade said with a smirk on her face, and Y/N swore she saw Robbie’s face go bright red.
“Well, I hate to add fuel to the fire Rob, but I think mom may have put your jeans in with my laundry because the pants I’m wearing are suspiciously too tight.” Y/N said, and Jade smiled wider.
“Oh my god this is too good,” Jade said, chuckling to herself.
“Y/N you’re not helping!” Robbie whispered harshly, and Y/N sighed, patting his arm lightly.
“Sorry Rob, but it was too good of an opportunity to pass up.” She said, and Robbie’s frown lessened slightly.
“Anyway, in other news the ‘prome’ is coming up? Do any of you guys have a date yet?” Tori said, and Y/N saw Robbie mouth ‘thank you’ at her.
Y/N was about to say something when Beck strolled up to the table. She stopped immediately, knowing that she was redder than Cat’s hair.
“The line at the coffee place was super long, but here you are. One caramel frappe with a shot of espresso and extra whipped cream.” Beck said, placing a drink down in front of her.
“I, uh, um I didn’t ask for coffee.” Y/N stammered, looking frantically between the drink and Beck.
“Well I heard you mention to Cat last class that you were really tired and needed a ‘pick me up’, so I thought I’d surprise you with a drink. I hope that’s ok?” Beck said, and Y/N nodded eagerly.
“No, this is perfect. Thank you so much.” She said, shooting Beck an appreciative smile before taking a sip.
“God this is good. How much do I owe you?” She said, pulling out her wallet. Beck made a noise and shook his head.
“Don’t worry about paying me back, it’s fine. Now, what were you guys talking about before I got here?” Beck asked, and Y/N tried not to stare at him to obviously.
Y/N had had a crush on Beck since freshman year, but she always felt that she was just a little sister to him or a friend. Never anything more. Everyone in the group knew about the crush except Beck, and Y/N was often subject to a fair bit of teasing from her friends.
“We were talking about prom and dates and such,” Tori said, looking straight at Y/N when she spoke.
“Do you have a date, Beck?” Cat asked, and Beck shook his head. Y/N felt her stomach fill with butterflies, but she knew it’d never work out.
After all, he was Beck, actor extraordinaire and all-round hot guy, and she was just Y/N Shapiro, the twin sister of the guy who brings a puppet to every one of his classes.
“Well if all else fails we can all go as one big group!” Robbie suggested and the group looked at him in confusion.
“Man, that is the dumbest idea I have ever heard.” Rex chimed in, and Y/N snorted at his comment.
“Sorry Robbie, but I have to agree with the puppet,” Tori said, and Robbie sighed defeatedly.
They were suddenly interrupted by the bell and Y/N dashed away, frappe clutched tightly in her hand.
“Beck, thank you so much for the coffee. I really owe you one.” Y/N said as she passed Beck. He smiled at her warmly and sat his hand lightly on her shoulder.
“Believe me, the pleasure’s all mine.”
“Wait, you wanna ask who to prom?” Andre said, and Beck rolled his eyes.
“Y/N.” Beck replied, and Andre furrowed his eyebrows.
“As in Y/N Shapiro? Robbie’s sister? That Y/N?” Andre asked, and Beck sighed.
“Yes, that Y/N. She’s cute and funny and she is an incredible actor. Sikowitz paired us up for an assignment last term and she is so talented! Plus, she’s got a bit of fire about her and she’s not afraid to talk back. I really like her, and I want to ask her to prom.” Beck said, and Andre smiled at his friend admitting his feelings.
“Ok, well how are you gonna ask her?” Andre asked, and Beck sat down next to him on the piano stool.
“I’ve got this scene I’ve written for us to perform in Sikowitz’s class tomorrow. He’s going to pick Y/N to act with me, and then I’ll ask her to prom in the scene.” Beck said, and Andre nodded slightly.
“That actually sounds really good, and I reckon she’s gonna love it. I’ve also heard from Tori that she is very into you, so good luck man.” Andre said, and Beck smiled before pulling him into a hug.
“Thanks, I really appreciate it.”
“Today we are going to be looking at some scripted duologues, so I’m going to need two people for the first scene. Beck, yes and Y/N. Up onstage!” Sikowitz said, shooting Beck a sly wink as the teens made their way onto the small classroom stage.
“Here are your scripts. Beck, you are a proper English gentleman from the 1920s about to propose to his girlfriend, and Y/N you are the girlfriend. Begin!” Sikowitz said, and Y/N took a deep breath.
“Love? Is something the matter?” Y/N said her accent incredibly thick which caused Cat to let out a giggle.
“Well, come to think of it dear, there is something,” Beck said, and Y/N had to force herself to stay in character and not laugh at his adorably awkward accent.
“What is it? You know you can tell me anything.” Y/N said, and for a moment she swore Beck looked genuinely nervous.
“I just so happen to think that you are the most wonderful girl I have ever laid eyes on,” Beck said, and even though it was just a character exercise Y/N felt her cheeks go red.
“Darling.” She said, looking into Beck’s warm brown eyes.
“It’s true, it’s true. I also happen to think that we are a wonderful match. You make me very happy, and I can’t imagine life without you.” Beck said, sinking onto one knee. Y/N faked a gasp, and Beck took one of her hands in his.
“I have something I would like to ask you.” He said, and Y/N nodded excitedly.
“Yes?” Y/N said, and Beck cleared his throat.
“Everything I just said is true and real. So, Y/N Shapiro, will you go to prome with me?” Beck said, his accent disappearing only to be replaced by genuine emotion. Y/N gasped for real along with the rest of the class, bar Andre and Sikowitz.
“Yes, Beck Oliver, I will certainly go to prome with you.” Y/N said, giggling as Beck pulled her into a tight hug.
“Just so you know, I asked your brother if I could do this and I have his blessing,” Beck whispered, and Y/N laughed, pecking his lips swiftly.
“Well that was certainly a wonderful turn of events. Sit down, lovebirds, we still have a class to get through.” Sikowitz said, smiling as the pair sat down next to each other.
Beck wrapped his arm around Y/N’s shoulders, pulling her against his chest. He glanced down at Y/N and smiled, his heart swelling and his stomach full of butterflies.
For Beck Oliver, next Saturday couldn’t come fast enough.

I Watch a Movie I Should Have Seen: “Dirty Dancing”
Tumblr media
This was a biggie. How have I never seen “Dirty Dancing?” I didn’t feel like I needed to. I knew where you shouldn’t put Baby. I knew the lift. I knew she carried a watermelon. I knew the movie. Or so I thought.
My thoughts:
A smooth beginning of slow motion, extreme closeups of “dirty” dancing to set the tone. This lets me know there will be dancing and it will be dirty.
So yesterday I got Grandpa Gilmore in “The Lost Boys” and today I get Grandma Gilmore as Baby’s mama? The 80s knew what they were doing.
Having seen “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” I know people used to go to places where you could stay a whole summer as a family. It was the only way to get your daughter a man.
Newman crushes it with puns all movie long.
Baby knows why she’s at this resort. She wants to change the world but she also wants some strange. She makes eyes at the first young man she meets. Baby’s ready to pounce.
Baby shows us she’s uncoordinated by making sure she steps on the feet of the person next to her a few times in an opening dance scene.
Jarring to keep hearing “Max Kellerman” when I know that name as a guy who shouts a lot on ESPN opposite Stephen A. Smith.
Swayze gets a stern warning to limit his interaction with the daughters. This is Chekhov’s gun. You know he’s not going to heed that warning. The guy is trouble. We know this because he wears sunglasses inside and knocks a carefully folded napkin off the table.
In keeping with the sports names, Robbie Gould (name shared with an NFL and former Penn State kicker) is the waiter assigned to Baby’s table. He seems like trouble too but he hasn’t knocked anything off a table so I’m not sure.
Kellerman’s grandson goes to the Cornell School of Hotel Management which is like going to the Harvard School of Dog Grooming.
Baby got a live chicken for being a good sport about getting cut in half in the magic show. We never see this chicken again. I fear for it.
After finally getting to see the “I carried a watermelon” scene, I’m curious why she didn’t say, “I carried the longest, most oddly shaped watermelon you’ve ever seen.” It was shaped like a Tylenol.
I like that there’s just this place where the younger crowd can secretly smush their crotches together to music every night.
During Swayze and Baby’s first real interaction, Swayze teaches Baby how to swivel her hips and leaves her alone on the dance floor wanting more. As you do. This is how I got Loly at Seton Hall.
Why is there a “trying on wigs” camp activity? And why is it so strongly attended?
I’ve always said that when I’m feeling down, I wish Tim Gunn would come to my house and give me a hug and a pep talk. Now I’d like to add that I wish Swayze would hold me and whisper “Johnny’s here” when no one likes one of my tweets.
Grandma Gilmore hit a practice putt a good 30 feet past the hole and Dr. Daddy tells her she lined it up wrong. He didn’t even look at her.
When they decide Baby should just sub in on this professional dance, all I wrote was, “This is a good plan.” Turns out it was a good plan but that’s because movies make things work. It was actually a terrible plan. Do we not remember her feet stepping on that guy’s foot in the first few minutes of the movie?
The threesome dance is a nice touch. It’s a traditional ceremony signifying the official transfer of Swayze affection from one girl to another.
How many times did they accidentally punch each other in the face doing staged mess-up shots?
I’m sorry. We had to wait 38 AND A HALF minutes to get shirtless Swayze?? Freakin’ tease, this movie. That’s like a waste of a third of the movie.
“If you can dance on a log, you can dance on a floor.” is the original “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.”
Where do her parents think she’s been? This is before you could implant trackers in your teenagers like you’re supposed to. More classic 80s parental neglect.
It was easier to change your clothes in the car back when the back seat was a couch and also the front seat was a couch.
Dr. Daddy saves the abortion day! But he’s not happy with Baby. If he really wanted to keep Baby and Swayze apart, he would have told her to keep hanging out with him. Reverse psychology. He’s not that good a doctor.
Swayze in black dress pants and no shirt. That’s how I made my groomsmen dress for my wedding. There were not pleased.
If you are going to have sexy time with someone, there is no more sensual way to do it than by paper Asian lantern light.
We learn about breakfast sexism. Girls eat grapefruit. Boys eat eggs and potatoes.
Baby’s sister is a mess. I love her confidence. Her hula singing number practice session might be my favorite thing in the movie.
How did I not know that Swayze sang “She’s Like The Wind?” He’s a quintuple threat.
Her Keds must smell so badly. She’s been dancing in them for weeks and they didn’t have no-show socks in the 60s.
The “I’ll do your hair” scene with the sister is all sorts of weird. Probably could have been cut to make room for more hula song.
Robbie is an idiot. He could have had a huge check for medical school and all he had to do was not talk.
I had no idea Swayze says, “Nobody puts Baby in a corner!” I thought it was something she said to him early in the movie. I guess third person is only for Swayze.
I liked this movie. It surprised me. I liked that the conflict wasn’t manufactured. It all felt right. I liked that they each stood up for themselves. When Baby is doing all this nice stuff for Abortion Girl and they aren’t appreciative, she yells at them. When Swayze feels like Baby’s not doing all she can to be with him, he tells her. It works.
Ignoring the fact that Grandma Gilmore was horribly underutilized, I would watch this movie again. I put it second after “Rudy” and ahead of “Stand by Me” in this blog series.

 - she’s called greta (under witness protection), and she’s a serial dater. she’s incredibly restless and doesn’t settle. before she came to seattle, she’d lived in 8 different cities in 3 years. born into a single-parent house with two older sisters so always surrounded by women and as a teenager she often let boys walk all over her bc she just craved male attention  -   every place she goes, she becomes a new character, someone who’s a figment of her imagination, as if each city is repertory theatre and she’s a character actress, so as a result everyone from her past views her as a completely different person depending on when she met them.   -   she’s been involved in a series of destructive relationships because when people discover she’s not who she pretends to be she often gets explosive and defensive.  -   (tw gun) she’s now under witness protection and moved to connecticut because she shot a previous boyfriend in self-defence and his family are trying to have her done for murder, but she got tired of being moitored so is now even on the run from the police / her faked identity.  - easy to get along with (provided you don’t anger, provoke or question her too much) because she WANTS your character to be entralled by her and will do whatever it takes to win them over. she wants everyone to love her   -  big into sports. big into gender politics. big into art. does a lot of art installation pieces to do with female and queer bodies. massive feminist. low key quite scared of powerful men bcos of her ex. wants to start a female only lesbian commune. big fan of the honey bee.

trigger warnings: drugs, domestic abuse, gun.
you never meant for it to happen. you’d heard the stories, of girls who let their man walk all over them, and thought to yourself “i’ll never be one of those girls…” the kind that eat low-fat yoghurt and drink slim fast to shred a few extra pounds because he said she was getting round in the tummy, or the ones who spent their evenings tied to a kitchen sink drinking wine while him and the boys played poker, wishing god, if only I could get out of here. not you, not you raised by strong women, four bright shining beacons. single mother with her hard-as-nails attitude and her stony glares, elder sisters (twins) one ginger, one blonde, one doctor, one lawyer, both determined to take a bullet to the brain and a hammer to the patriarchy before they let a man touch them without asking. you were always so inferior, so insecure and small, like a bird (like a sparrow) with blonde plaits down your back sucking tropicana whilst your bosom buds sucked dick, their lips permanently ripe with stories of their sexual exploits, fake tan and glittered nails whilst you sat in the unbroken egg of virginity wondering what it was like to be loved. one day you found out.
lily milligan’s parents gone and a free house for the night, bottles of ouzo and tequila swiped from your mother’s liquor cabinet thinking she wouldn’t know (she always knew) your legs, hardened from pep squad, slut dropping on a kitchen table because the boys thought it would be fun to get the quiet girl drunk. you’d never had a sip before that night. band t-shirts, denim shorts and the split soles of rotten converse that you refuse to let go of, you still clutched with both hands to your youth, but in a tube top now (borrowed from alice carmichael who had a sister in college) and a short tennis skirt, your feet not in trainers but in thigh-high boots. uncomfy as hell but lily said you needed to look sexy. you didn’t know if you wanted to be sexy. you didn’t know what kind of girl you were, if you were even a girl at all. but robbie looked at you like he knew exactly who you were, like he knew you better than you knew yourself, and his lips had the pink cupid’s bow of a movie star, and his hair was dark locks, curling like a mane. his hands were soft, and suddenly on your waist, and after three more shots his lips were on yours and his name was the only sound in your head and on your lips as you lost it in lily’s college sister’s bedroom beneath the glare of a T-Pain poster. you bled for what seemed like hours, his hand still in yours, kissing on the sofa as truth tellers and daredevils continued to spin a bottle of unprecedented youth. you thought it was love. robbie was the one. he loved you, you knew it, how else could someone be so soft? but soon he grew bored, scrunched up your paper heart and set it alight. then came the tears, the hatred, the ‘fuck robbie, in fact, fuck all boys.’ and that you did.
you were known for being easy. any boy could be yours for a night, as long as he promised to love you for those few short breaths and pants before you cried yourself to sleep. you felt poisoned, but poisonous as well, as if by ensnaring these young boys you were gaining power over them, and not the other way around. soon it started to work. they’d want more, but you’d deny them it, sick of sucking off silly schoolboys, they’d call you a tease, a vixen. maybe you were, but you couldn’t help but want older men. you got the history teacher first time, him bending you over his desk to sneak a hand up your tennis skirt as the after-school clubs carried on next door, unawares. love didn’t exist, not for you. it was nothing but a game for pretty young girls to play, bubble gum in their canines and a hand tugging at the hem of their cheer skirt.
there was so much anger inside of your small body, ‘beware of boys and their hook-like words’. hockey helped. there was something formidable about the feeling of a stick like a weapon in your hands and the thwack it made against thighs in the heat of a scrum - “slipped, sorry!” - you’d utter with a snakeskin smile, millicent quinn knowing that you’d hit her on purpose because she shagged robbie at that party last week. she couldn’t prove it, cobbled acne on her forehead turning green with disgust. ben came into your life like a car crash. two years your senior, with a baseball jacket and shoulders like a god. he became your personal hero. on the pitch, he was lethal. together, you could bring anyone to their ruin. each day after last period he’d be waiting in his car. you’d leap into his arms like a girl-half starved, love me, love me, love me, your heated kisses the envy of every junior girl. he was yours for three blissful years, utterly yours, and you were his, his star-spangled girl, and he was your knight - you were both the same, playing games, always difficult to predict. it was a shock to all when he proposed, high-school sweethearts find love in south dakota.
the engagement was a bittersweet affair; three months – you barely out of your gingham print skirts and into a graduation gown, him, a surly quarterback towering above your sisters, cigarette at his lips and a scowl like a fart in a lift. they hated him. so did you. but you were eighteen and in love, and he fitted the cookie cutter mould. everyone wanted him, and you had him. you had him and you were happy, happy, happy, and he loved you. he said he’d give you the world, anything you wanted hand-picked and given to you. instead, he gave you a jack russell terrier and a flat you couldn’t swing a cat in, wallpaper peeling like the rotten bits inside of you, the bits that only he knew. and you got tireder and tireder of the sad excuse of a life he’d picked out for you, him out doing god knows what to pay the bills, and you dancing on tables to pave your way to stardom, and this was love, this was real, until the shine wore off and your fresh-faced, dimple-cheeked cheerleader facade faded and the ugliness started to reveal itself, the whining, the petulance, the sharp-tempered cruelty, the mind games, the need to always win, win, win. he was dull, he was boring, he was nothing like the boy the girls had said he was and no chiselled six-pack could hide his lack of anything remotely interesting, your patience wearing thin until it snapped like rubber, a rucksack on your back, running shoes on your feet and the joint bank account emptied into your eighth grade birthday wallet.
you built your small fortunes working the casinos of sioux falls, a crimson dress and an attitude to match. bookish archie with his little dipper freckles was fun for a month before he became just as dull and dreary as the rest. a three-hour bus and you were in minneapolis, bright eyed and bushy tailed, fresh meat ready for the pickings. a hostel here, a friendly co-worker’s sofa there as you made what you could by taking off your clothes and shaking your ass like you were back in pep squad, doing what you did best. you met your fair share of creeps, and soon it was back on the road to escape a wide-eyed stalker and a restless itch for more. milwaukee, chicago, you made the roads your own. log cabins and lodgings, and the occasional motel, a beaten up pick up truck purchased at a scrap merchants – you got a few miles out of it before it bit the dust, and when you finally set it alight after nights spent lounging across the driver’s seat, a parka tucked over you as a duvet, you were sad to see it go. you’re nomadic by fault, never attaching to place, people or things, creating a new personality in every place you go like a character actress; each town is a different repertory theatre, and you’re the star. a compulsive liar, you even fib about your own name, to some you’re ellen, nineteen, bookish, a law student who likes smoking and cosmos. to someone else you’re rita, you’re twenty-five and look young for your age, like smoking, comics and fucking in public places.
in the bright lights of michigan, you found charlie, sweet charlie, too good for you, though you let him spoil you while he thought you were the small town girl of his dreams. next came abigail, who was fun until the jealously kicked in, and then luke, gorgeous luke, dangerous, exciting, who despite his temper, despite the fights, despite bruises down your spine and your teeth marks on his arms, loved you with the strength of a wildfire. there was destruction in your wishbones, a savageness from the field, from the pitch and now somehow in his arms, you were godly. he was cruel, he was careless, and he refused to fall at your feet like so many other boys had, which only you made you want him all the more. you were rage incarnate. you hated him so fiercely you thought you might kill him, so he played the only card you wouldn’t predict; proposed.
the house you shared was a backstreet flat in detroit, you make your name as a downtown singer while he foots the bill with pills. they have a drug for anything these days, to dull the senses, to pick them up, to drive you to insanity or pull you out of the madness hole. the two of you live like criminals on the run (you never told him that you were, living out your days as the enigma he wanted you to be), you with your voice like caramel and fishnet legs. you were his and his alone until his hand was at your throat and the gun was in your hands screaming at him to stop, stop, stop, until a bullet stoppered his brain, crimson staining linoleum as you cast yourself out like lucifer. self-defence was decreed the moment they saw your violet neck, black tears and headlight eyes and mind screaming red, red, red like the pom-poms you shook so willingly in school and the insides of his skull. you were gone, and “you” was born, renamed “greta”, boxed, shipped-out, and next-day delivered to vegas where under witness protection you were a student, blank slate, fresh-faced in a place where no one knew your name, doing what you always did and starting again.

Merry Rob Mas!
Tumblr media
Today I have a new fic for you all!
Be with me this Christmas is a prequel to Dancing Away with My Heart, inspired by the song Baby it’s Cold Outside.
Pairing: High-School!Rob x High-School!Reader
Summary: When you’re not feeling up to attending your father’s black tie Christmas party with your boyfriend, Rob refuses to let you spend the holiday alone, but it turns out there was a lot more too it then just not being alone on Christmas.
“Come on sweetheart, it’s Christmas Eve,” you mom pleaded as your father helped her into her coat. “Christmas is supposed to spent with your family.”
“Call me crazy, but going to Tom’s parents house for their black tie, holiday party with all of our dads co-workers is not my idea of a good-old, family Christmas.”
By the glare you received from your parents after you said that, you knew you had pushed their buttons. Those imaginary, perfect family buttons.
“Look,” you continued with a sigh. “I meant it when I told you I wasn’t feeling well, and you know if I were feeling up to it I would go with you, but I highly doubt everyone would appreciate me showing up contagious.”
As much as it bugged them knowing that they would be missing a chance to show off your and Tom’s relationship, the flu was the one thing they never could fight. Mostly because they knew how agitated you got when you didn’t feel well.
From the window in the living room, you watched as they pulled out of the driveway and drove down the snow dusted street, before finally letting out a sigh of relief. You weren’t really sick, but the truth was that stuffy, corporate party was not anywhere close to the family Christmas you wanted, for your last year at home. Even if you had to be all alone to get it.
It was in that moment that you felt your phone vibrating in the back pocket of your jeans and pulled it out to see the unread text messages from Rob.
(Rob)
“Watcha doing?”
(Rob)
“You’re on your way right?”
(Rob)
“Listen here missy, a proper young woman must always be punctual. It’s the first rule of being a suitable wife you know.”
(Y/n)
“Wow, someone gets cranky when he doesn’t get enough attention.”
(Rob)
“Yep, I’m basically a puppy, all I need is food and love. Now get your ass over here.”
(Y/n)
“I already told you I am not coming over and intruding on your family’s Christmas. Plus I am supposed to be staying home sick. The last thing I need is them getting home and me not being here. I am perfectly fine by myself, in front of my tree, wearing my pajamas.”
Every since Rob had found out about your plan to stay home on Christmas, he had been begging you to come spend the night over at his house, but as much as you both wanted you to go, it was just to risky.
(Rob)
“Well there you go. That’s exactly what we are going to be doing. We’re ordering food and watching Christmas movies until we fall asleep. Don’t make me get my mom involved y/n, just get yourself over here, pajamas and all.”
(Y/n)
“Robbie, you know I appreciate how you look out for me, but I can’t. My folks will kill me if they find out I left to spend Christmas with you, and on top of it all it’s starting to snow now. I don’t want to risk having to drive in bad weather.”
You had barely gotten the message sent before his next text popped up. Even after being friends for almost four years, you couldn’t believe how well he knew you. He knew you better than your own family did, and they had known you your whole life.
(Rob)
“You know you’re mom and dad won’t be making it back till early morning and the weather is not supposed to get bad, it’s just a little Christmas snow.”
You knew Rob just as much as he did you, and that meant you knew he wasn’t going to give up. He was the kindest person you had ever known. He loved everyone, but there was something about the way that he cared for you that was different.
Quickly slipping into your Christmas sweater and pajama pants, you grabbed the pumpkin pie that you had brought for yourself out of the fridge and got in your car. The snow was still just barely falling and only covered the ground in a light dusting, but the sharp breeze that had started to blow made you glad that you were close enough to Rob and his family to let yourself in.
“Hello?” you yelled shutting the front door behind you. “Where is everybody?”
Just then Rob’s older brother came around the corner from the kitchen. “Hey y/n! Here let me help you.”
Taking the pie he waited for you to remove your jacket then took it as well.
“So where is the shorter, more annoying Benedict son?” you asked.
“Oh yeah, Robbie did good picking you,” he chuckled in response. “He’s back in the family room.”
You and Rob spent a lot of time together. Enough time that Rob’s family considered the two of you to be dating and deep down you both knew that’s what was happening. The truth was, you had fallen in love, but your arranged relationship with Tom made things way more complicated than they should be.
Greeting Rob’s mom and older sister, you trekked through the kitchen, and entered the living room to find Rob kneeling in front of the tree, rummaging through the delicately wrapped presents.
“Some of those are mine right?” you questioned.
Looking over his shoulder he gave you a big smile, then turned back to finish arranging the packages. “I don’t know do you think you’ve been good enough to get a gift this year.”
Walking over, you stood over him and found yourself getting lost while you watched him work with his tongue just barely sticking out between his lips as he concentrated. It was no secret that he was an attractive guy, but attractive didn’t even begin to describe how you saw him.
“I do have to put up with you, so I think that automatically gets me on the nice list,” you finally replied with a smirk.
“You do, do a pretty good job with me, so I might of considered getting you something.”
Shooting up, he placed a kiss on your cheek, just in time for his mom and siblings to join you, stacked pizza boxes in hand.
By the time the second movie was done, you and Rob were the only two people in the living room. Rob’s mom had decided to go to bed, early and his brother and sister both had plans to go to a Christmas Eve party with friends from school.
“What would you like to watch now?” he asked, looking over at you.
“I was actually just thinking I should probably be heading out too.”
He shook his head. “Nuh uh.”
“No?” you questioned with a giggle. “It’s not time a good time for me to leave?”
Shifting so he was facing you, he put his arm around you around you on the back of the couch. “Do you really think that I have been begging you to come over with the intent of not spending any time together, just you and me?”
“Robert Patrick Benedict, did you think you were going to get lucky tonight?” You teased.
Shrugging he looked down, cheeks slightly blushing. “No I just didn’t want you to be alone this Christmas.”
“Yeah, I know you did,” you responded with a smile. Leaning in to place a kiss on his cheek before continuing. “Home alone. We can watch Home alone, only if you get the pumpkin pie out of your fridge and share it with me.”
A couple of pieces of pie, and two cups of hot cocoa later, Rob pulled a blanket out and draped it over the both of you. After that it seemed no more than a couple minutes went by without the two of you somehow getting even closer to one another. First it was his arm around your shoulder, making it easier for you to cuddle up into his side. Then it was fingers intertwined in his lap, where he began to rub circles on the back of your hand. Two hours was all the time that had spent just the two of you, but that was one of the best things about your relationship with Rob. It didn’t matter if you spent minutes or a whole night with him, it always felt like a lifetime, and that was because he was the one person that you could really be comfortable around.
You really did want to spend the night with Rob. To be honest you had known all along that this is what would happen, and it was going to be the best Christmas present you got, but that didn’t mean that the rest of the world stopped moving, and when the end credits started rolling you knew you really had to be going. Even if you didn’t want to.
“Thank you for tonight Robbie,” you said looking up at him.
Reaching down he placed a kiss on your forehead. “Anytime beautiful, but you’re still not leaving.”
Uncovering yourself, you sat up and started reaching for your shoes when you felt fingers crawling up your back to play in your hair.
“Don’t go y/n. Please don’t go yet.”
“I have too,” you replied, focusing on zipping up your boots. “You know I can’t risk getting caught. The last thing I need is anyone finding out that I spent Christmas eve with you over my boyfriend.”
“You lie about being with me all the time, y/n, and they have yet to find you out.”
“Have you never heard of that saying there’s a first time for everything,” you retorted. “I can just see it now. Me walking through the front door and finding my dad pacing the hallway, then the never ending questions about who I snuck out and saw.”
“But, it’s cold, and snowing. You hate going out in that stuff and I would not be a very good friend if I let you go out there.”
“Awe, it’s just a little Christmas snow, remember?” you taunted, pecking his cheek as you stood up.
Messing your fingers through his hair as you walked past him, you started towards the front door with Rob right behind you.
“You know it’s windy out too,” he continued. “That means it’s going to make it feel colder out than it actually is. Oh! And you know blowing snow. White out conditions make it dangerous to drive.”
Shaking your head you started to laugh. “Look I appreciate that you look out for me, and you made this a great Christmas, don’t worry.”
“Please y/n!”
You couldn’t believe how serious he sounded and the moment you turned around you could see it in his eyes that there was something else going on.
“Will you just be with me this Christmas?” he asked softly, with pleading blue eyes. “All year, the only thing I want is to be with you, but I have to sit there and watch you be with a person you don’t want to be with. So for Christmas can’t we just be together?”
Walking over, you brought your hands up to the side of his face, caressing his cheek with your thumb. “That’s why you have spent months begging me to spend tonight with you? Being with me was the gift you wanted?”
As he went to answer, you placed your lips on his, stopping him. After all, Rob was right. You spent all year pining after one another, what would it hurt to just be able to spend Christmas together?
