Imagine waking up to news that one of your favorite musicians has suddenly passed away.

the GazettE has always been my favorite visual kei band and among the five of them, I always like Reita the most. They were a huge part of my teenage days in high school and university. When I first created a Facebook account in 2008ish, all my profile pictures were Reita's photos.

In high school, me and my sister used to check Wikipedia for the list of their songs and check then one by one in YouTube. If we like it, we manually save the mp3 no matter how horrid the audio quality is because we don't know how to officially access Japanese songs. We still even kept that "Gazerock is not dead" shirts even though it's just an imitation.

Even though I'm no longer following visual kei, the GazettE always have a special place in my heart and I was happy to see them thriving more and more. I can even easily listen to their songs officially now since they're on Spotify.

So seeing this news out of the blue is... I don’t even know how to process this and I can't imagine how the other four members are feeling right now.

I didn't expect I will say something like this so soon and it pains me to do it, but rest in peace, Reita-san. Thank you so much for everything.

I just want to hug my high school self so much. Man, this past year with Vkei (visual kei) has been difficult. I mean first Atsushi Sakurai then what a week later, Heath from X Japan passed, and now Reita from The GazettE. Like, I don’t know how much more of my musician’s that helped shape me into the person that I am today passing away I can take…

Lit Hub has posted an article with the names, photos and biographies of the Palestinian poets and writers killed by the IOF since the beginning of October. May we remember them, their names & their poems 🍉🕊🍓🪁

If we think of ourselves as a global literary community, then these people were our fellow travelers, our peers.

Isnotreal returned the bodies of 80 unidentified palestinians taken by its forces.

Some of the bodies were taken by isnotreal forces after they were killed, while others were exhumed from several cemeteries around Gaza, including Al-Shifa cemetery and Al-Nimsawi cemetery in Khan Youins

Pictures were taken of the bodies before burial to facilitate later identification by their families.
