when mark was six, he told you he loved you.
you never really grasped what ‘love’ meant during those early, innocent times. your parents say they love you whenever you bid goodbyes going to school. your grandma used to tell you she loves you because you’ve been a good kid. so you told him “i love you, too!” with a grin plastered on your face, and mark felt his face go warm, a slightly pink flush on both of his cheeks.
when mark was eight, he said he wanted to be a writer.
he fully pledged it in his middle school yearbook a year before. an author, he wrote. you challenged him a bit. “write something for me then!”. young mark, full of determination, handed you a piece of paper at the end of the class. Roses are reds, Violets are Blue, …… I guess …… I love you ! - it was unfinished. cue the excessive punctuation marks and misplaced capitalization of letters, too. it was valentine’s day. and when the whole class knew mark loved you, he never got away with the teasing. you still had no idea what it meant, though.
when mark was twelve, “i’m gonna be famous!”, he shouted to the whole world.
you saw him pick up the guitar that he borrowed from his dad. he flicked a few strings. “congratulations, mark!”, you said. “thanks.”, replied. “what’s wrong?”, you saw how his smile slowly turned into a bit of a frown. “i’m going away,” he said. you patted him on the shoulder, “my mom said we’re all meant to, mark.”. oh, you thought, how early was it for you both to know the concept of separation. how unfortunate it is, sometimes, to be needing to grow up early.
when mark was sixteen, he took a good glance of a glimpse of his future.
flashing lights, cheering crowds, fans following him around—the fame he has worked for four years—the dog days, the sacrifices, the longing for familiarity in a city of uncertainties and foreign—are finally going to pay off. his cheeks hurt from smiling. he was more focused than ever, like a hungry animal preying for success. “i always knew you were made for somewhere else”, you thought while seeing the news around home that mark is on his way to making his name.
but as years passed by like a blink of an eye, mark finally had the chance to rest, to go somewhere. but he didn’t know where else to go. from living in toronto, to vancouver, to some few years somewhere in queens, and now, in unfamiliar cities he wake up to, he never had the chance to sit still and think of this: he never knew what home felt like.
when mark was nineteen, he made his way to his old house.
relatives greeted him. old smiles and familiar warmth overwhelmed mark. oh, how lovely it is to grasp a sense of familiarity. trains and 156 buses, his smile beamed when he reminisced middle school. “remember when…”, it was all his tongue could say. laughter filled the dining area where he and his siblings often had their silly whip cream-face-smearing fight, but his joy slightly faltered when he passed by an abandoned house, just five blocks away from his house. an abandoned, almost small-framed bicycle sits on the front porch. it was the bicycle you would ride whenever mark knocks at your very doorstep to go to the nearest town and buy potato chips.
he remembers when he was thirteen and packing for his flight the next day, he asked you: “do you think we’d forget each other?”
“i think you would.”, you replied.
“i would never.” mark reassured you, but you’ve heard stories of your mom and how her college best friend suddenly fell apart. nothing in particular, it’s just life and how we go separate ways—it’s inevitable. people say i love yous to their loved ones, reassuring them the warmth and proximity will stay, but as the sun rises, for mark, there will be great emptiness as he is forced to remove himself and start anew.
“why do you think so?”
“because i love you.”
and for you, love has changed its definition instantly. it was a time when a great consciousness arise. you understood how he truly meant all these years. you said it back as you also meant every single syllable. love, for mark, was meant to be fireworks and giggles. but by the time he boarded the plane, you kissed his cheek, his first love started and ended on the very same day.
now, mark, twenty-three, almost has it all.
he has been writing for years. he isn’t still an author, as he has told you, but sure what he writes comes along with the melodies he produces with his co-artists. he has been contented with his lifestyle, going to different countries, and working with unpredictable schedules. sure, he has established a name in the industry, working like a mad dog, but something still bothers him inside, something missing, lacking.
tonight, he writes in a local coffee shop as he waits for his manager to arrive, a practice that keeps his feet on the ground. scribbles, blurbs, drafts of lyrics, all embedded in his journal—and after a while of connecting the dots to construct who he really is and where he would position himself in the vast ocean of possibilities, he may have finally struck something that hits closer to his definition of home.
i just wanted you to know, mark writes to you, who have always been his muse through and through, to tell you that i have been happy during our years together, that i have never been so happy despite what i have gone through and achieved, and that i already know i will never be so happy again.
and as mark closes his messy, worn-out black journal, the bells rang as someone entered the door.
mark watches you walk in and towards the counter. he would have so many questions as to why you are here and when you have arrived. but reserve it for later because as you find a table you could sit in, you locked your eyes with his—so familiar, so distinct, so… inviting. almost home.
lost for words, mark stared at you. blinking like a fool. he must be dreaming.
but the doubts of the fantasy dissipated.
“hey, stranger.”, you said. “do you think we still know each other?”
a smile so warm, so loving, proximity that is so close—these are things he has lost over the years, now sitting in front of him, embodied by the epitome of his long lost love.
and mark always firmly believed in this, and today, he was never betrayed by his beloved: fate.
home, all along—he thought, is wherever i’m with you.

Although God is present everywhere, what does it mean to return to Him?
Verses about returning to God end like: “You will be returned to us in the end.” or “Then you will be returned and taken to Him.” As there is no moment man goes out of the management of his Lord because he handles all his dealings with the power and other facilities God bestows upon him, how shall we understand returning to Him? The point mostly debated is that human beings who are subject to test with their small wills will go to the Presence of God. In the world of past eternity, our souls were addressed: “Am I not your Lord?” We replied, “Yes, you are our Lord.” When we were cast to the test of world, we were faced with the realm of causes. Always when the sun rose, it got bright; always when the spring came, flowers bloomed. We have always taken our cereal and vegetables from ground, and our fruits from trees. This caused some people to become oblivious, and some to give thanks. These two groups of people will eventually be returned to their Lord, after the world of test is closed, and through the grave, they will proceed to the Day of Judgment. Again, they will be gathered before their Lord. This gathering is a returning. This will be without our will. The term ‘being returned’ gives us this lesson. Another verse giving us the lesson of another returning: “How can ye reject the faith in Allah.- seeing that ye were without life, and He gave you life; then will He cause you to die, and will again bring you to life; and again to Him will ye return.” (Al-Baqarah Surah, 2:28) When he is dead, i.e. his substance is in the realm of dead elements; man is resurrected and given the shape of human. Then, he dies again and the body returns to its original composition, i.e. becomes totally elements. This phase is followed by resurrection and proceeding to the Day of Judgment. So there are two deaths, two resurrections and two different returns: one from death to death…the other from life to life. Another verse about returning: "To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return" (Al-Baqarah Surah, 2:156) Both the ones who surrender and the ones who rebel will gather before His Presence and return to Him. It is festivity for the one who lived as His slave and left this place of test with faith to return to his Lord in the Hereafter. But the ones who lived in the property of God without knowing Him and without obeying His commands will return to their Lord with unbelief and rebellion. Therefore, with the term ‘returning’ we should understand the Day of Judgment. We must put both scenes before our selves through imagination so that it does not deviate from the way of acceptance (of God), does not be taken in by the transitory pleasures of the world, and stays away from the off-limits. So that it takes lesson from the verse: “For the command that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah.” (Al-Infitaar Surah, 82:19) and without waiting for that day, today surrenders to His commandment and accepts His decree. So that it thus obeys the command of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): “Die before you die.” and returns to the right path, God has shown, in the World. So that its return in the Hereafter results in bliss. God, who is above place and time, bound us His slaves to place and time. So wherever he dies, man returns to His Lord, who is above place. Likewise, whenever he dies, he returns to His Lord who is above time.

Rose enjoyed her time playing, thankfully she did stay away from love songs during her performance. She didn't want to stir up more trouble for herself, especially after what she did.
She finished another song when she was approached by a man from the crowd, he gave her a small token. Just a simple daisy and a very creepy wink as he walked away. "Oh, well.. thank you." She laughed awkwardly, placing the daisy behind her ear.
"As my name suggests though, I'm more of a Rose kinda girl." She joked, playing another song with the new flower accessorising her hair. "So my name song is about Roses."
She wondered if Haiji would make an appearance again today, but then again.. she didn't think she could face him.
"🎶 Pretty little bloom, have you ever wondered why you're so special? Pretty little bloom, so delicate and sweet; you don't even know how precious you are. 🎶"
Tumblr media
Haiji tried to tune out Rose’s songs, but the more the concert progressed, the more it became a hassle to act like she wasn’t listening to the most beautiful voice he had ever heard. Each song carried over to the captivated audience, filled with thousands of emotions coming from Rose’s heart. Powerful emotions identical to the ones he was feeling against his will.
Irked by the next song taunting him, he slammed the pillow to the side and groaned at the ceiling. He really hoped this song wasn’t talking about him. Or it was just him automatically jumping to conclusions because he didn’t want to face the reality of Rose’s true feelings. He was too much of a coward to confront them. Confront her. Confront his own heart.
“Rose...”

183: “Car sex looks so much easier in the movies.”
send me a number + an idol
A/N guys my inbox is temporarily broken, bare with meeeee
“Hey, Yoongs,” you said, tossing your phone in front of you and watching it land on the cushion.
Yoongi grunted in response, not looking up from the laptop resting on his knees. The two of you were sitting together on the downstairs sofa of his house. You were both in your pyjamas at mid-afternoon, sitting in a position facing each other at each end of the couch. Blankets and cushions were splayed in all directions around the room, mainly draping from the sofa.
“How did you lose your virginity?” you asked, shamelessly.
Catching him off guard, Yoongi looked up from his laptop, eyebrows raised.
“How did I lose it?”
“Yeah, I was reading some dumb snapchat article about losing your virginity, and it reminded me that you still haven’t told me. You know how I did,” you stated, eyes fixed on his.
Yoongi sighed, reaching a hand to the lid of his laptop and pulling the screen downwards, giving you a better view of him.
“Well, it was on prom night,” he began.
“Classic,” you scoffed.
“And it was in my dad’s car,” he said bluntly. You gasped.
“Your dad’s car? Even more classic.”
Yoongi smirked to himself, recalling the messy memory fondly.
“But seriously, I’ve always wanted to try it in the car. Can we do it one day?”
Yoongi rolled his eyes, sighing again as he pulled the lid of his laptop back up, gluing his eyes back to the screen.
“Sure. But don’t forget this; it’s nowhere near as glamorous as it is in the movies.”
Yoongi’s friends, Seokjin, Hoseok and Jungkook had all dragged you on a night out together. Both you and Yoongi felt rather out of place, being the only couple there. You’d been encouraged to dress up for the occasion, putting effort into your makeup and not allowing a strand of hair out of place. Neither of you quite enjoyed it; early in your relationship you’d soon discovered that the both of you were the ‘stay at home’ types. You’d both much rather pass on an evening out, surrounded by people, and stay in to watch movies together.
All five of you had piled into a large taxi, sitting face to face while Seokjin, Hoseok and Jungkook chattered with excitement. The three of them had already had a few drinks beforehand, making them slightly happier and louder than usual. Although, their personalities weren’t indifferent to that anyway.
You sat close to Yoongi, your hand gripping his while you muttered small conversation with each other.
“I wanna go home,” Yoongi said quietly, lips pressed to your ear.
“I know,” you replied glumly, “and we haven’t even arrived yet.”
Hoseok, noticing your glum faces, beamed a huge smile your way.
“Come on guys, lighten up! We’ll make sure it’s a good night for both of you.”
Yoongi winced at Hoseok’s volume, scrunching his face together for a moment before returning to his expressionless look.
The club wasn’t so bad, but Yoongi and you certainly felt like a boring, middle-aged, married couple. Single people danced drunkenly everywhere, while you and Yoongi stuck together like glue, taking small sips your glasses.
“We’re so boring aren’t we,” you said.
“To everyone else, yes. But it’s not our thing,” Yoongi said, glancing to the left in distaste as a young man stumbled head over heels desperately into a young woman, who laughed and pulled him close to her chest.
“Were we ever like that? Did our relationship change us, or are we both just boring people?” you asked, staring at the couple who were now lazily making out. Yoongi was about to reply with something snide, directed at the couple, before Hoseok appeared next to the two of you, an alcoholic beverage in each hand. Did he really need two? you thought.
“Hey!” he screeched, the alcohol getting the better of him. “You guys need to learn how to enjoy yourselves, come on! Dance with me!” Hoseok nudged your arm with his elbow, alcohol tipping out of his glass while you flinched away from the escaping liquid, gasping at him. Hoseok only laughed, downing what was left in the cup.
“Hoseok!” you hissed, looking down at the floor which was now splashed in alcohol, inches from your feet.
Yoongi’s cold grip suddenly found its way onto your arm, now standing very closely next to you, almost protectively as he half-jokingly glared at Hoseok.
“I think we’re gonna go,” he said, to your relief. Hoseok’s face fell.
“What? It’s not even midnight!” he spluttered, shock adorning his face while Yoongi nudged your side, indicating for you to move. You sheepishly smiled at Hoseok as Yoongi waved goodbye, gently guiding you through the crowd from behind, one hand on your arm while the other rested on your hip.
You were now in front of your house, having exited the taxi and finally being able to breathe again.
“Ahhh, social interaction. Thank God that’s over,” you lazily smiled to yourself, earning judgemental looks from your boyfriend. You scanned your surroundings, eyes falling onto Yoongi’s car and an idea suddenly bursting into your head. “Hey Yoongi, should we go out for a drive?”
Yoongi spun around, having almost made it to the front door. You couldn’t help but briefly appreciate how good he looked in that blazer and those tight black jeans which seemed to enhance his long, slim legs.
“A drive? Now?”
“Yeah,” you smiled. Yoongi narrowed his eyes.
“Okay…” he agreed suspiciously, making his way to the car and watching in confusion when your smile spread even wider.
You both clambered into the car, turning up the insulation and driving pointlessly through the quiet city.
“So, why are we doing this again?” Yoongi asked, although you’d never even given him an answer to begin with.
“I want to try something,” you said, looking forward out the window into the night. “We should go down that track towards the lake,” you proposed, turning to watch Yoongi as his features crumpled further in confusion.
“You want me to take you to the lake at half past 12? Are you planning a murder or something?”
“Just drive,” you sighed.
You were surprised that Yoongi hadn’t cottoned onto what you’d come up with. You’d instructed that you both climb in the back together, confusing him even more when he’d theorised that you wanted to admire the pretty moonlight above the hauntingly black water, or something.
“Will you tell me what’s up now?” he asked, breath visible as the moonlight shone directly through the windscreen. The temperature had visibly dropped, and you thanked yourself for choosing not wearing a tiny dress to the club. You were two ghosts’ silhouettes against the pearly light that smiled at its surroundings below.
“Don’t you remember the other day? When you told me about your prom night?” you asked.
Yoongi clicked his tongue, irises rolling upwards as he finally understood what you wanted. You wanted to experience car sex with Min Yoongi.
“Couldn’t you have just asked?” he chuckled, a soft mist floating from his lips while you began to lightly tremble at the cold.
Before you could reply, his arms snaked around your waist, pulling you into his lap as you melted into his arms. You sighed, your eyelids dropping so they became half-lidded, watching Yoongi through your lashes as he moved towards your neck. His lips connected to your skin, kissing and sucking while you tipped your head to the side, allowing him better access.
Your head was inches from the ceiling of the vehicle. While Yoongi’s car certainly wasn’t small, you began to realise that it may be problematic for two people your size to twist your way around the seats.
His fingers found their way beneath the fabric of your shirt, running up and down your skin while he marked your neck, moving closer up to your jawline and meeting your lips. You were both rather lazy, messy kisses with teeth clicking and tongues swiping along each other’s lips; it wasn’t particularly romantic. He pulled your shirt over the top of your head, your elbows awkwardly banging into the leather surrounding you and leaving you in your bra. You blushed, knowing the faint flush on your cheeks would be invisible to Yoongi, only sighing wantonly as he affectionately caressed your skin.
Your hands found their way into his stark black hair, winding your fingers round a few strands and tugging lightly as his lips began tracing their way down to your collarbones.
His hands returned to your waist, tugging upwards as a silent command to move your body up and allow him access to unbutton your high waisted jeans. Doing so, you pushed yourself upwards, intending to have Yoongi reach for the waistband of your jeans as you rose. However, the harsh movement caused you to sharply bump your head on the top of the car.
Your hands flew to your head as you cursed aloud, sitting back down. Yoongi began laughing, watching you pout angrily as your rubbed at your scalp, trying to rid yourself from the aching. You leant your back against the door, now out of Yoongi’s lap while he all he could do was smile that smile which you loved.
“Ugh,” you groaned, still clutching your head and making a complete mess of your hair. Yoongi smiled at you fondly, staying quiet while he watched your annoyed expression. “You’re right,” you began, “car sex looks so much easier in the movies.”
Yoongi chuckled, shuffling forward and closing the gap between you. He drew your hands you’re your head, clutching them in his own.
“Didn’t I warn you?”
“We didn’t even get past foreplay. In fact, we didn’t even start it. We got as far as kissing!” you complained, only spurring Yoongi’s laughter further. He scrunched his eyes shut and dropped his head downwards, hanging it low and bringing his left hand up to rub his eyes. He looked up again, shaking his head and sighing.
“Should we just go home?” he suggested. You paused.
“Fine. But, believe me, Min Yoongi, we’ll do this successfully one day.”

Rose has a night job at a bar in Silver Springs called Vee. She loves it because it gives her freedom, free drinks every night, and she gets to spend time with the 3 oh so sexy owners of the bar.
What Rose doesn't know is that these guys have a dark and dangerous secret and the bar she works at isn't quite what it seems.
Rose's attraction to these guys is strong but she thinks she has no chance. The guys are drawn to Rose but they know they could never date a human. Insert one magical PSL then Rose's world is flipped upside down.
Rose is a standalone reverse harem romance.
Excerpt:
“Good evening, Rosalie.” I hear the silky smooth voice before I see him, and I can already feel the butterflies in my stomach—Finn.
“Hey, Finn. How are you?” I reply in what I hope is a sultry voice. I normally just end up sounding nasally, and I know my cheeks are probably reddening. Just being around him and his brothers makes me lose any confidence I have.
“Living the life,” Finn answers with a chuckle, as he leans across the bar toward me, his hand inches from mine. “You look beautiful tonight. Anyone special coming in?” I hear a note of jealousy in his tone, but shrug it off as my imagination. I’ve made it clear that I think he’s hot, so if he’s interested he would have made his move by now.
“Everyone that comes in is special, silly,” I respond with a laugh. “I just wanted to dress up tonight. Sometimes it’s fun to get all cute, even if you’re just going to work.”
“I don’t think you need to get so dressed up to tempt the men here.” His words and the smile that graces his face make my cheeks burn, and I tilt my head forward to cover my embarrassment with my hair, using the opportunity to clean the bar top with a rag.
“Are you swooning over our beautiful bartender, Finn?”
I bite my lip as I take in Dean, who’s approaching from the back. I scan his body, barely suppressing the moan it evokes from me. He’s wearing dark jeans that are tight in all the right places, paired with a slightly tight black band t-shirt, making him completely droolworthy. He catches me staring and clears his throat with a chuckle. “You look gorgeous, Rose. Why are you wasting your time with my pitiful brother?”
“Uh, hi, D-Dean,” I stammer, dropping the rag to the floor. I take a step back, planning to pick it up, causing my heel to catch on the stone tile floor and snap. I squeak loudly as I fall backward, straight onto my bottom, sending shooting pains up my back. “Son of a bitch!” I groan, looking up to see Dean staring at me in surprise.
“Rose! Are you okay?” Dean crouches down and puts his hand on my shoulder.
Tears burn my eyes as I use all my willpower to suck them back into my skull. I can already feel that my ass is going to be bruised, as well as my ego. “Yes, I’m fine. Just bruised and embarrassed,” I say as I stand up. I’m immediately lopsided due to my broken heel, and groan at the thought of working barefoot all night.
“Well, that’s broken,” Finn notes, as he bends over to pick up the heel of my shoe.
“I know. Fuck, these are new,” I mutter under my breath.
Dean sets me on a barstool and begins taking off my shoes. I immediately feel goosebumps erupt on my skin as I look down at the way too sexy man. “Uh, thanks,” I murmur, summoning a smile to his face. I feel my cheeks heat with a blush at my reaction to him and the knowledge that I’m not hiding it very well.
Dean looks back at his brother as he sets the broken shoe on the floor.
“Finn, can you get those black flip-flops upstairs?” he asks his brother, then turns back to face me. “You’re a what? Eight? Eight and a half?”
I squint my eyes at him and slowly reply, “Yes, I’m an eight. How would you know that?”
“Lucky guess,” he answers, just as Finn reappears at the door. He tosses the flip-flops to Dean who slips them onto my feet before helping me back onto the ground. “There you go. Perfect, although it was nicer when we were closer in height.” His laughter causes butterflies to fly in my stomach again and it feels as if they are permanently there. I try to push why he would just happen to have women’s flip-flops in their apartment out of my mind, concentrating on what his proximity is doing to my body.
I open my lips, ready to say something, something cute or sexy I hope, but I’m cut off when he places a finger on my chin and smiles just before he steps away. It feels as if the breath rushes from my body in a whoosh when he’s no longer so close to me. Relief and sadness overwhelm me. They are so fucking hot. Like, unfairly hot.

My Favorite Album #227 - Elizabeth Cook on Neil Young ‘Zuma’ (1975)
Tumblr media
Sharp of tongue and deep of soul, one of Nashville’s most compelling singer-songwriters joins me to talk about an underrated Neil Young and Crazy Horse classic, ‘Zuma’.
We talk about how Elizabeth discovered the album on a road trip, the elusive concision of Young’s lyrics, how this record defines a certain version of his sound, how the album documents the end of Neil Young’s creative grieving over guitarist Danny Whitten, how Elizabeth wants to steer her future recordings in a Neil-ward direction and what it was like to be a witness to the taping of the ‘Heart of Gold’ concert film.

104. Gotta get to work, but I’ll check when I can! :)
@hellostarlight20 gave me 132. Actual count: 143
Rose nuzzled into his touch, feeling a familiar rush of affection for her daft Time Lord. “Doctor, your ship has a room that smells like roses because she knew she would merge with a human so that you wouldn’t have to be alone.” She met the Doctor’s eyes. “I absorbed the Time Vortex so I wouldn’t have to leave you. I’m not about to do it now.”
@onthedriftinthetardis‘ 104 turned into 156.
The pressure seemed more intense this time, as though her submarine had moved to deeper waters, but it could just have been because she was expecting it. Rose, we’ll get to the lesson in a minute, but first there’s something I want to tell you.
Rose didn’t say anything, but she knew the Doctor could pick up on her willingness to listen - she could sense how important whatever he was going to say was to him.
I’m taking prompts between 100 and 150 words tonight if y’all want in on this :)

Trece
After numerous hours of reading by herself in the Common Room, Elizabeth began wondering about Slug Club. She didn't know what time is started or where to go; at the beginning of her time there, Slughorn had told her that other Slytherins attended the club and she could walk down with them. Unfortunately, she didn't know who they were, exactly. As if the whole world were reading her thoughts, Cora, the tall girl from earlier raised her voice.
"Anyone attending Slug Club can leave now, but make sure you all stay together," she announced, her strong voice reaching all corners of the room.
Nobody stood, except for, of course, Tom and his six companions. They all rose in unison and said nothing, but slowly began walking to the door. Elizabeth shut her book and promptly followed them. Tom took notice of her as he walked proudly through the Common Room. He walked alone with the six trailing behind him. Elizabeth walked and stood next to him. After they had all walked out the door, Tom stared back at the group and they shifted backwards. Elizabeth tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"How are you?" Tom asked suddenly.
"Good, I guess," she mumbled. She was actually quite excellent. The dance was the next night and she was certain Tom didn't know about it, so he wouldn't stop her from having fun.
"I was informed you went to sit with Corrington and those other Gryffindors," Tom said coldly.47
Elizabeth felt blood rush to her cheeks. "I couldn't turn down an invitation," she replied smoothly.
"How polite of you," the corners of his lips turned up and a sarcastic grin took place on his face.
"I thought so."
He was silent. Elizabeth looked behind her and the group was silent, staring at the ground as they walked. One boy who looked much older than Tom lifted his head and they exchanged a glance, only for him to bury his eyes in the floor once more. She turned her head back around.
"Why don't you guys ever talk?" she whispered.
"We do talk, just not in front of you."53
Elizabeth rolled her eyes, for she felt as if he said things to provoke anger in her. The hallway was dark and a few Hufflepuffs walked a few meters ahead of them in a huddle. Two girls looked back, one of them Elizabeth recognized to be the girl who had walked her to the castle on the first day. She couldn't remember her name. The girl looked back at her with the utmost pity.56
"Do you know her?" Tom hissed quietly.
"No."5
Finally, Elizabeth saw the bright red hair that belonged to Bonnie. She didn't know her that well, but she would rather be with her than Tom. She quickly ran ahead to Bonnie before he could stop her.2
"Oh, hello Elizabeth!" Bonnie exclaimed and nudged Klaus who was walking next to her. "Look who it is, Klaus!" He nodded in acknowledgment to her and she smiled back.
Bonnie was wearing a knee length, gleaming navy blue dress with black tights underneath. Elizabeth had thankfully gotten word that it was a formal event and had put on a suede black dress that went down to her mid-calves and sleeves to her elbows.34
"You look nice," Elizabeth commented on Bonnie's attire.
Her eyes lit up as if Elizabeth had just given her the greatest news she'd ever received. "Thank you so much! I love your dress and I simply must know where you acquired it!"
"It was a gift from my grandmother," said Elizabeth, sending a kind smile towards Bonnie.7
"Oh, grandmothers are the best! When I was four, mine gave me my own broom. Of course, I couldn't ride it because I didn't have anyone to teach me, but I still have it to this day," explained Bonnie, her eyes twinkling at the memory.4
"Aren't you one of the Beaters on your house's team?" Elizabeth inquired, remembering seeing her in a photo some place.
She nodded, "I've played since I was allowed. They almost let me play in my first year, but how insane is that? A first year playing Quidditch? Pinch me when that happens."156
"We didn't have Quidditch at my school in the United States," Elizabeth remembered. They tried to form a team once, but the professors burned their field down, keeping it in flames until they agreed to not continue with the sport.78
"That's a shame," Bonnie frowned, not understanding the gravity of what Elizabeth had told her. "Oh look, we're here!" she grinned and opened the door. Inside was a dimly lit room with a large round table and food hovering on plates in the center.
"Hello! Do come in, please do," Professor Slughorn welcomed the three students who had just arrived. The Hufflepuffs Elizabeth had seen earlier were seated facing the door, smiling and laughing with each other. The girl she knew from the first day did not acknowledge her.
Klaus and Bonnie seemed to know their place, so Bonnie sat next to one of the Hufflepuffs girls and Klaus sat next to her. Elizabeth gingerly took a seat beside him and hoped that was where she belonged. As the minutes went by, more students began coming into the room, each adorned in lavish clothing. Elizabeth wondered where Tom had gone, for they were right behind her in the corridor. The door creaked open, and Elizabeth looked over her shoulder, expecting to see Tom. Instead, the messy brown hair of the one and only, Asher Bennett, stepped into the room.
"Hello Professor," he greeted. His eyes scanned the room and finally landed on her. Asher gave a close-mouthed smile and proceeded to have a small conversation with Slughorn.
Elizabeth felt her throat getting tighter and rubbed her palms together under the table nervously. Two third year Ravenclaw girls walked in and took the seats to Elizabeth's left. There were only a few seats left and she knew who would fill them. Almost as if he'd read her mind, Tom and the six boys all entered. She found it odd how all of them had been offered a spot in this seemingly exclusive club.1
Asher had sat down by then in a seat next to one of the Hufflepuff girls. He smiled at Elizabeth, but she ignored it. Tom sat down and three of his friends sat on either side of him, almost as if it had been rehearsed.
"Well I believe this is everyone!" Slughorn clapped, taking his seat between the Ravenclaw girl and one of Tom's acquaintances. He shifted uncomfortably as the professor sat next to him. "Dig in, everyone, I'm sure you're nearly starved!"1
The students began picking food out of the middle of the table, setting it on their plate. Elizabeth grabbed a couple pieces of salmon as well as a scoop of peas. Clear glasses of pumpkin juice floated off of the platter, landing in front of everyone's place. Elizabeth sat and waited as the rest of the students finished gathering their food.
It was silent for a few minutes as everyone took their first bites. "Everyone looks absolutely dashing tonight," Bonnie said to break the ice. A few words of thanks and complimenting were directed her way.
"Might as well wear this since the ball has been canceled," the Ravenclaw girl next to Elizabeth chuckled, regarding her silk blue dress.
Professor Slughorn swallowed a bite of casserole, "It is quite a shame, wouldn't you agree?"
"Yes, I don't even think Grindelwald is anywhere near here," Klaus commented, shaking his head in disbelief.
"I think it will do us good, the extra security," a blonde Hufflepuff girl contradicted with a bright smile. "Dippet is just looking out for us."17
"Or he's scared," Elizabeth spoke up. Her cheeks felt flushed and she regretted saying it as soon as she did. All of the students looked her way.30
"I agree with Miss Maryn," Tom declared, sending the gazes his way. "Dippet is afraid of anything actually happening because he knows once it does, he won't be able to stop it," he added a smug grin at the end of his proclamation. "Of course, in a hypothetical situation."43
Everyone was silent. Elizabeth took a sip of her juice and felt like sinking down in her chair.
"Well, if anything does happen, I'm sure you'll all be under the highest security in the wizarding world," said Slughorn, hoping to loosen the tension.2
Bonnie spoke again, "What are everyone's plans for the holidays?"
"I am going to the Bahamas," the blonde Hufflepuff girl said excitedly.51
"The Bahamas! That is so wonderful, Clara," Bonnie exclaimed. "You know, I went there a few...."5
Elizabeth could no longer focus on the words out of Bonnie's mouth, for Tom had been burning holes in the side of her head with his gaze. She looked over at him and he didn't flinch. Their eyes were locked together. Elizabeth remembered when he'd first looked at her in front of the Common Room door.
"Riddle, why don't you tell us what you'll be doing over the holidays," Klaus said, quite cross and sarcastic.16
He didn't tear his eyes away from Elizabeth, "I'll be involving myself in a few extracurricular activities." She knew that meant he would be practicing the magic she'd taught him. "What about you, Maryn?" pondered Tom, actually sounding concerned.1
"I think I'll be going back home to America, to spend Christmas visiting my grandparents in Florida," she smiled at the other students.45
"I've heard of Florida," Bonnie remarked. "I hear it gets quite hot there."12
"Yes, almost eighty degrees in the winter."25
Bonnie choked on her juice, "I'm sorry, did you say...eighty?"12
"Yes, I think that's the average temperature if I'm not mista-," she began.
"Darling, they use the metric system over here," Asher spoke for the first time that night. As soon as he said darling, Elizabeth felt her ears curl.131
Professor Slughorn chortled, "I can't believe I didn't think that you two know each other! You both went to Baxtart's School for the Independent Wizard and Witch if I'm correct."1
Elizabeth exchanged a glance with Asher. "We did," she mumbled, looking back at Slughorn.
"Interesting...," he trailed off. "That explains why you're both so ahead of your years!"
"I suppose," Asher spoke. "I think Elizabeth paid attention in class much more than I did."
"It was hard not to pay attention," Elizabeth said coldly, regarding all of the times that children had been killed right in front of her.
Tom looked over to Asher, "Tell me more about this school of yours, it sounds...breathtaking." His choice of words made Elizabeth want to hex him right then and there.76
Asher looked to Elizabeth for help. "I certainly learned a lot there, that's for sure," he gave a light smile to the table and took a bite from his casserole.
"What did you learn, I'm curious," Tom interrogated further, his voice not wavering in emotion14
He gulped his food nervously. "Well, we...um...we, er," Asher's face was turning white and Elizabeth could tell the memories had gotten to his mind.
Elizabeth finished, "Useless things, really."
"No magic can really be useless, can it?" Tom persisted, obviously attempting to aggravate Elizabeth.
"Well actually," Bonnie broke the tense conversation with a small laugh, "My mom showed me this spell that puts dust in a pile. Doesn't even sweep it, it just puts it in a pile."88
"If that's not useless, I don't know what is," Klaus added, lightening the air a bit.
There were a few moments of silent chewing and sipping, followed by various attempts to bring conversation to the table. Elizabeth noticed a large hourglass out of the corner of her eye. A transparent emerald serpent wrapped around the core as small grains of beige sand dropped from the top to the bottom, very slowly. It was mesmerizing and now had her full attention.1
"Would anyone care for dragon milk ice cream?" Slughorn interrupted her thoughts. "I just acquired it from a peer in Hungary; it's quite delicious if I do say so myself," he chuckled.11
A few dubious mumbles agreed to try the ice cream. Elizabeth nodded as well, looking away from the hourglass. She noticed Tom had looked away from it as well. Elizabeth gazed over to where Asher sat and felt an ache of jealousy. He was smirking over at the Hufflepuff girl, Clara, who was going to the Bahamas. She smiled back, her cheeks flushed at the attention of the mysterious, older boy. Elizabeth gazed at Clara's beauty and began wondering why Asher even liked herself in the first place. This girl had high cheekbones and perfect plump lips. Elizabeth looked at herself in the reflection on the back of her spoon. She looked plain and had no identifiable traits. Her eyes were blue, but not strikingly of the color, like many others.64
She felt betrayed, watching the two exchange looks of romance and infatuation. Asher had no place in her heart, but she figured she had one in his.36
"Ah, here we are!" Professor Slughorn exclaimed as the ice cream dishes were distributed to the students.
Elizabeth hesitantly picked up the spoon and scooped up a small portion. She stuck it in her mouth and rolled it on her tongue for a moment, before it melted and disappeared down her throat. It tasted awful. She nearly gagged as the taste of burnt strawberries made its way to her mouth again. Looking around, Elizabeth wasn't alone in this feeling. Klaus actually spit it out. Tom hadn't taken a bite and was watching Elizabeth make the most horrific expressions known to mankind.38
"The wonderful thing about it, is that it is the burnt edition of the original flavor!" Slughorn orated, seeming overly thrilled with the fiery treat.
"Professor," Bonnie set her spoon down, "This tastes ghastly."43
An echo of laughter erupted from the students, all except Tom. Even his friends gave a small chuckle. Slughorn was cackling as well, "Oh I really do apologize, I thought it would taste better... Oh dear, would you look at the time! You all best be off or else I'll be in colder water with Headmaster!"2
Slughorn stood as well as all of the students. He walked over to the door and muttered a few "goodbyes" as the girls and boys exited the room.
Elizabeth noticed Tom over by the hourglass. He was alone and didn't seem shaken by the fact that all of his companions had left him. "Tom, aren't you coming?" inquired Elizabeth, nodding her head to the door.
"You go on, I want to discuss something with Professor," he said ominously, gliding his hands along the serpent.123
"What are you discussing?"1
His eyes didn't leave the hourglass, "Nothing of your concern." Slughorn was still chatting with students by the door.
"Tom, you tell me right now or you won't get one more spell out of me," Elizabeth commanded harshly.18
He turned and walked closer to her, "I don't need your permission to get what I want. Now leave before I miss my opportunity."29
Elizabeth scoffed and walked away after a second, not daring to look behind her as Slughorn closed to door after she left. She paused and did something she didn't want to. One of the spells she had learned back at Baxtart's was a charm that would record their conversation and play it into her mind. Almost similar to a telephone, but much more insane.32
After the charm was cast onto the wooden door, she walked away slowly and listened to what Tom had to say. It didn't start working for a while and was only glossed over voices until there was a sharp ringing followed by Tom's voice.
"...I came across the term while reading and I didn't fully understand it," Tom's muffled voice spoke softly. It sounded as if he were underwater.44
"I'm not sure what you were reading Tom, but this is very dark stuff. Very dark indeed," Slughorn replied shakily. Elizabeth desperately wanted to know what it was that they were conversing so privately and eerily about.1
The sound muffled over for a moment and all she heard were tones and pitches. She concentrated and it came back clearer.
"I think you already know the answer to that, Tom."
"Murder."6
Elizabeth nearly dropped her wand from hearing the word. As she continued listening, it was obvious what they were talking about. Ripping the soul apart... it was all too familiar.
"Seven? Merlin's beard, Tom! Isn't it bad enough to consider killing one person? To rip the soul into seven pieces... This is all hypothetical, isn't it, Tom? All academic?" Slughorn had shaky breaths in between his speech.
"Of course sir. It'll be our little secret."31
Elizabeth fell to the ground, landing against the wall. The spell had broken and she no longer heard their voices. She felt her knee tear against the stone, but she was too distracted by what she knew to be true. Tom wanted to make seven Horcruxes. He wanted to kill seven times. The term Horcrux was too familiar for her own liking.
It was familiar, because she had a Horcrux of her own.

Tommy Fleetwood in Brooks Koepka’s shadow at the US PGA Championship
Tommy Fleetwood could have forgiven a pitiful smile when he looked up after the first round 67 in the US PGA Championship on Thursday and saw the name Brooks Koepka above his.
We have been here before, of course. Sixty miles east on Long Island at Shinnecock Hills, the pair last year played a classic duel for the United States Open, where Koepka showed his cool nose in the light of a fantastic final round 63 of the Englishman
This time it was the impressive Koepka who delivered the fireworks and a miraculous record of himself. After a similar score on his way to winning the PGA at Bellerive last year, he is now the first man in history to record two 63s in the same major film.

Tommy Fleetwood hit three-under-first round 67 at the US PGA Championship on Thursday
Is it old cliché that you can only lose tournaments on the first day, not win them, about to demand a small revision?
Koepka begins to acquire something of an aura in the majors and this certainly felt like an ominous declaration of intent while trying to reach his fourth robbing the last eight he has played.
There is no better platform to show how good you have become than to play Tiger Woods, of course, and the defending champion on this occasion did not have much credit as the complete
margin was at the end nine shots and underlines the scope of the task for Tiger is the fact that you have to go back to Jack Fleck in 1957 US Open at
Koepka shot seven underneath and might have finished with the first 61 in a Grand Slam event, since he has not chosen to succeed up on both par five while missing 5ft for a birdie 11.
Fleetwood & # 39; s beautiful round was overshadowed by Brooks Koepka, who seven ended up under "class =" blkBorder img-share "/>
which completed seven under
[Het werd zeven jaar later, het werd overschaduwd door Brooks Koepka] always a crazy good day & # 39 ;, the Floridian insisted. & # 39; That's the be I felt for a terribly long time with a putter in my hand. & # 39;
It was the putter that sustained his bogey-free round when he was from 15 feet in front of an unlikely pair at the 14th – the fifth on the map – and the putter on the 9th triggered a rare emotion, his last shot of the day fell from 30 feet to complete his historic footnote.
Koepka provides his answers
When he asked him what he thought his putt was moving toward the 9th hole, he replied: & # 39; Nothing. I mean, what should you think?
On the eve of the tournament, I explained why I find it easier to win majors – he has only won two regular PGA Tour events – and why he feels he is basically playing against 35 boys in this 156-man field, because he or he will defeat the rest or they will collapse under pressure.
& # 39; There are no more than 35 left now, certainly, & he replied. & # 39; That's one of my best rounds as a professional and I'm excited about the way I play. I am determined to keep the pedal low. & # 39;

Koepka was congratulated by playing partner Tiger Woods, who ended in two over played partner Tiger Woods, who ended in two more than par
If Fleetwood was not such a nice guy, he might feel a touch indignant at the fact that his designated role in the majors currently seems to hang on to the tails of Koepka.
& # 39; I would not compare myself to him because he is much bigger than me and he has the victories to his name and I do not, & # 39; said the 28 year old. & # 39; I see similarities, mentally, in the way we prepare for majors and the buzz we get from them. & # 39;
They both clearly feel at home on the poa annua grass trunk that can be found on the well surfaces at Shinnecock and here at Bethpage.
Fleetwood played two shots that were straight out of the top drawer, they are also two of the best ball catchers, so do not wonder that they are faced with such heavy tests like this with big eyes. On the difficult, long, par-three thirds – his 12th – where hardly a bird was witnessed all day, I made one by shooting his tee shot up to 18 inches. Better still was the six iron in his last hole that erected the last of his six birdies.
<img id = "i-bd7e5196afd7ed2d" src = "https://dailym.ai/30pHtS7 Fleetwood_waved_at_fans_during_his_impressive_opening_round_at_t-a-15_1558040900939.jpg "height =" 458 "width =" 634 "alt =" <img id = "i-bd7e5196afd7ed2d" src = "https://dailym.ai/2J2OwKp /16/22/13594414-7038719-Fleetwood_waved_at_fans_during_his_impressive_opening_round_at_t-a-15_1558040900939.jpg "height =" 458 "width =" 634 "alt =" Fleetwood waved to fans during his impressive opening on the Bethpage Black course "[194590019] [19459]
& # 39; I'm very happy that I get so much from a course like this, & # 39; he said. & # 39; I just need to clear up the errors. & # 39;
Fellowwood's fellow Englishman Matt Wallace reached four to a point before settling for a still-usable 69.
Justin Rose was one with too many bogeys like the one he was awarded with a 70 – the same brand as Graeme McDowell from Northern Ireland, who put his career back on track last month with his first PGA Tour victory in the Dominican Republic
Among the favorite contenders Certainly, there was nothing to get excited about.
Certainly, there was nothing to get excited about. roughly at the start of Rory McIlroy and world number 1 Dustin Johnson. After nine holes they were respectively two above and above level.
