Datafication — The Future Tense of Data Analytics
La Casa de Papel — Does it ring a bell? Are you familiar with this word? But it is surely in the top 5 of your favorite web series. What? Yes, you may not know the OG Spanish version, but you are a big fan of its English version, Money Heist!
The Spanish version was not a blockbuster. But Netflix translated the show not just into English but also into other languages. The first two seasons went on to become one of the most-watched web series without any promotion or advertisements.
It happened because of recommendation systems that have sophisticated algorithms with the proper tags and classification and user personalization, backed up by data science and machine learning. It is a classic example of datafication.
What is Datafication?
What is datafication — Is that even an acceptable English word? Before, it wasn’t, but it is today.
Datafication refers to the collective tools, technologies, and processes used to transform an organization into a data-driven enterprise. An organizational trend of defining the key to core business operations through a global reliance on data and its related infrastructure.
The crux is, “Datafication” is the process of turning everything into data. It is the act of taking something that was once unquantifiable and turning it into quantitative data.
Datafication enables the transformation of business operations, behaviors, and actions, in addition to those of its clients and consumers, into quantifiable, usable, and actionable data. This information can then be tracked, processed, monitored, analyzed, and utilized to improve an organization and the products and services it offers to customers. To put them into perspective.
Google transforms our searches into data
Facebook transforms our friendships into data
LinkedIn transforms our professional life into data
Netflix or Amazon Prime transforms our watched TV shows and films into data
Tinder transforms our dating activities into data
Amazon transforms our shopping into data
Data either personal or commercial are used to monitor every activity within its reach. Massive datasets are stored that get updated daily by the above tech giants for datafication. Collected data is then used for personalization in the form of ads, push notifications, consumable content, and more within each tech app or platform. This level of interference is usually regulated by the law.
The Datafication of Business
Data has now become a commodity. The currency is data. To produce it, tech companies bring together platform users who create data.
Datafication is a far broader activity, taking all aspects of life and turning them into data format. Once we datafy things, we can transform their purpose and turn the information into new forms of value — Big Data article (2013) by Mayer-Schoenberger and Cukier
Manufacturing and Supply chains
It simplifies the formation of short supply chains, creating micro supply chain business processes condensed through low-cost technologies such as mobile phones.
Real estate
It has made it possible for companies to gain in-depth insights into different locations, which in turn provides a better understanding to business leaders on where is the best place to locate their business.
FinOps
Managing financial activities across an organization is known as financial operations management (FinOps). Datafication is crucial because it enables the analysis and integration of data that was previously isolated in many systems. For example, datafication strives to bring together Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable systems together to get a single view.
Human resources
Employers can identify potential employees and their unique traits, such as their risk-taking profiles and personalities, using mobile phones, apps, and social network data. Instead of depending on obsolete personality assessments or tests that gauge analytical thinking, it will replace existing exam providers.
Customer relationship management
Many businesses are using datafication to better understand their customers and develop applicable triggers based on their personalities and habits. This information is derived from the vocabulary and tone used in emails, phone calls, and social media.
AIOps
The phrase “AI-as-a-service” (AIOps) is used to describe how AI tools are employed in businesses. Another advanced technology that applies datafication to its domain is this one. Datafication combines a variety of AI tools and is cloud-based to deliver real-time data, insights, and measurements on nearly everything. You can use a web browser or a mobile device to access it.
Benefits of Datafication
Datafication offers enormous opportunities for improving business processes, making it a strategy that is financially advantageous to implement. Datafication is a new developing approach as well as a methodology for building a secure and innovative framework for the future of data analytics.
1. Actionable Insights
Datafication converts unstructured, incomprehensible data into usable insights, allowing you to get insight into your processes and procedures — the basis of any organization.
What do you do well? What needs to be improved? Conversely, what is working well but may be improved? Datafication implies that you will be more capable of understanding your company’s strengths, limitations, potential, and prospects. Also, it provides you with insight into the outcomes and ramifications of your projects, enabling you to assess what you’re doing and how you’re doing it.
2. Digital Transformation
Digital transformation services is no longer a fleeting fad; it is becoming increasingly crucial for all businesses that want to stay up-to-date and pertinent in an ever-changing ecosystem.
To take advantage of the latest and most cutting-edge technologies you should have usable data. It is the ticket to improving business processes and efficiency. It will help you to understand where the organization stands and the required next steps to move forward.

Any business is generating a large amount of data and it is being collected and stored every day. If the data is managed well, it shall be providing better results. Otherwise, it can be overwhelming or can become unused data.

Many businesses are experimenting with integrating user-sourced data and incorporating it into apps to contextualize the customer experience.

As datafication becomes more common it is driving innovation, breakthroughs, and betterment for the greater good.
One of the core elements to achieving datafication is by democratizing data access. Ensuring the last line of employees is empowered to access insights can build a data-driven culture that can act as a precursor for setting organizations on the path to datafication. Which brings us to the question, how does one democratize data access?
The shortest answer will be to break the technical barriers surrounding it by introducing language as an interface between data and the user. Or simply engaging in meaningful conversations with data.

Facets of Reality
The country has changed a lot since I first got involved in a sense-making operation almost fourteen years ago. I publicly mentioned “retirement” in late 2020, and was thinking with Biden’s election I’d wind up operations and go do something with money in it. The target date was the anniversary of that first project, roughly St. Patrick’s day of 2021. As you may recall, a few things have happened since then.
Besides the lack of funding on the left for the sort of work I do another strong motivator was the steady encroachment of algorithms into human affairs. I deleted my Facebook account a decade ago, I relentlessly identify and block the various consumer behavior profiling services, and I otherwise resist tracking. Even so, when I sit down to read with my Kindle the lock screen will have an ad for a product related to whatever my most recent searches have been. China has been cramming every bit of text they can find into AI projects, they’ve got swarms of socks mapping LinkedIn, and on Twitter I’ve had a couple encounters with things that must have been algorithm driven faux humans.
I recently opened @AmericanHacker back up to expanding its audience and after just a week or so of “follow back” I don’t think it’s a good idea. The quality of information I see from that facet plunged, while emotional hot buttons skyrocketed. That account is corralled in a virtual machine, it’s not on very often, but the fact that it exists at all kinda gets on my nerves.
Being aware of the problem, my situational awareness methods have evolved. I have a sort of “cube” construct I’m using, with each of six facets providing views into the ever shifting mass of causes and conditions we refer to as objective reality. My goals in this are a high signal to noise ratio, a linear flow of time, and the ability to quickly “rotate” the cube to whichever perspective I need in the moment.

Twitter is just nasty. I have a fourteen year old account that has no followers and no friends. The only thing it does is host a Tweetdeck setup. I have decks for various topics, they contain searches for clusters of names, and I only look at English results from verified accounts. I don’t see trends and they don’t get to insert random stuff into what I see.
Inoreader gives me a Tweetdeck like view into RSS feeds. It’s a flexible, programmable system, and I don’t use it to anywhere near its potential. But it puts everything I want to see in one place without any advertising or other distractions allowed.
Open Semantic Search is a search engine that you control. I use their virtual machine appliance, creating a VirtualBox Linked Clone for each area. There are a lot of document caches out there – 6300 pages for the Mueller Report and supporting FBI FD-302s, 1900+ pages for Zoe Lofgren’s Congressional Capitol Siege social media report, and the Trump campaign’s income/expense report was released as a single ginormous 211,825 page PDF.
Visualization is an absolute must, there’s just too much of everything no matter where you look, we’re drowning in data. So I have Maltego as my go-to link analysis tool, and after ten years of using the commercial version there are 1,700 graphs in my Maltego instance of OSS. MAGA world has been such a shitstorm I started keeping a graph on it two years ago. Today that graph has almost a thousand URLs in it and 2,808 names, which makes it unwieldly on a twelve core Xeon. I’ve taken to pulling out pieces of it to update, saving them as date stamped files, and then letting OSS handle the complexity of finding things.
Books have come fast and thick thanks to the MAGA corruption wave. I was hobbled by Lyme and post-Lyme troubles since 2007, but that started to improve at the start of 2019, and I got my brain back in early May of 2022, just in time for things to go completely out of control. I’ve already published a recommended reading list, but Denver Riggleman’s The Breach is NOT on it. That’s not a statement on the books quality, it’s that it’s a new arrival and for me it’s a source of narrative for all the data I hold. I read just a little bit, then set it aside, because when I do read it I’ll have a notebook close at hand, so I can compare his findings to mine.
The final facet are the various chat rooms that I frequent. I used to spend a lot of time with grassroots groups but that’s been steadily declining since 2020. It’s better for me to focus on data/process, and leave the mingling to those who are able to do so without causing a stir.

The Effects of British Council Training Program English as Medium of Instruction on Primary School Teachers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan
Abstract:
The present study would lead to know the effects of British Council training program on the primary school teachers in Khyber Pukhtunkhawa. The objective of the study was to know the effects of the training program on the primary school teachers. The primary school teachers, who successfully completed grade III training English as Medium of Instruction in Khyber Pukhtunkhawa, were the population of the study. The study was delimited to male primary school teachers of the three districts namely Mardan, Peshawar and Swabi. The target population was 1947 male primary school teachers, of whom 330 was selected. The data was collected through questionnaire and analyzed through percentage and chi-square. The results of the study that the primary school teachers were able to use English as Medium of Instruction. The study recommended that such trainings should be arranged for teachers to improve their skills of using English as Medium of Instruction.

Chapter One: West Bridgewater
Paring: Ransom Drysdale x Fabiola Rossi (OC)
Rating: This story will mostly be rated 18+ as it is revolves around a relationship that is Dominant/submissive. For each chapter, I will do my best to rate it accordingly, but please know that the overall story will have very adult themes.

Description: Huge “Ransom” Drysdale always thought of himself as a powerful man. With his family’s money and status, Ransom could get away with anything. He had the power and control others would envy. Ransom could get any woman he wanted with a snap of his fingers. He was always in charge. He commanded attention. And he hated it. Never having a job in his life (thanks to his mother, father, and grandfather always there to supplement his bank account) or any real-life goals, Ransom felt incomplete and directionless. That is until Fabiola Rossi entered his life and turned it completely upside down.
A/N: I have not seen Knives Out. This is an AU of that world. I do not own any of the characters created by Rian Johnson. I have always thought of Ransom as a sub rather than a Dominant and this idea has been on my mind constantly that I needed to write it down. Anything in italics are to represent Ransom’s thoughts.

What is a dominant-submissive relationship all about? As mentioned previously, there is an energy dynamic between the two partners. It is the Dominant’s duty to protect and guide his or her submissive. The submissive, also called “the bottom,” relinquishes some or all control to the Dominant. He or she is playing out their own kinds and fetishes through the guidance of a Dominant. No actions or scenes can be played out unless the submissive has consented to everything the Dominant plans to do during a play session. A D/s relationship is not solely about sexual activities but exploring new and interesting ways to connect beyond sex. For example, the Dominate can set up simple rules that the submissive must follow, such as asking permission to stay out late or have ice cream for dessert. A healthy D/s relationship can lead to a life of self-improvement.
“You got some mouth on you…I bet a ball gag would fit nicely around those pretty lips of yours.”
For some reason, Ransom could not get that comment out of his head. It was so unexpected and out of leftfield. He never had a woman said anything so bold towards him. No stranger to bondage with the opposite sex, it was always Ransom who was the one in charge. Women were more than happy for him to lead the charge. It was the only time Ransom was ever put to work, so to speak. Fabiola Rossi had managed to not only mystify the spoiled playboy, but he was not determined to find out more about her.
So, Ransom did one any person in their mid-30s did when trying to find information about another person, he stalked her social media. He came up short. No Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram that he could find of her unless they were private.
“This is Fabiola Rossi. She is an inspiring editor herself. I have taken her under my wing as a mentor.” Ransom remembered from the night before when creepy old Charlie Van Houten introduced his grandfather and him to Fabiola.
Of course, Fabiola had a LinkedIn page as she was a young working professional. Ransom saw that she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Psychology at Boston University. He noticed it had only been five years since she graduated from the university, so he suspected she was in her late twenties. Most of the jobs Fabiola received were internships or part-time positions. Not unusual for graduates looking to enter into the workforce. There was not much to offer due to the Baby Boomers not wanting to retire or companies being stingy with providing decent living wages or health benefits.
“Intern. Van Houten & Thompson Publishing. March 2019 to current. Performs proofreading and editing of manuscripts and additional documents before the final publication,” Ransom read out loud as he continued to look through Fabiola’s profile.
He got up to reach for his coat to pull out his wallet. Inside was a business card of Charlie’s that he gave Ransom before leaving his grandfather’s party. Charlie told Ransom to keep in touch and that they both could talk about possibly working together.
“If you have been working on anything, send it over. In fact, send it over to Fabiola. She’d probably love to read it and give you feedback. Give him your email address, honey. Any work you send over to her will be in great hands,” Ransom remembered Charlie saying to him last night. He looked over the business card and traced his thumb over Fabiola’s handwriting of her email address.
He could not understand why this particular woman intrigued him so, despite only meeting her briefly the night before. However, Ransom knew he had an itch to scratch, and it was better to get it taken care of now before things got too out of hand. Before he became too obsessed.
Turning on his laptop, he waited for it to boot up. Opening his email account, Ransom began composing a new email to Fabiola. He kept it short and simple by asking if she was still up looking over what he was currently working on.
Hi Ms. Rossi,
It was a pleasure meeting you last night. Hope you are doing well. If you are not too busy, do you mind if I send over the story I am currently working on? I do not want to impose if your schedule is too busy, but Charlie had such high praise for you, and I would appreciate the feedback and insight from you.

He clicked the ‘send’ button and waited. Thankfully, he did not have to wait too long for a response back.

“Hook, line, and sinker,” Ransom said to himself with a smirk plastering over his face. He knew exactly which of his work he would send over. It was one Ransom had finished a while back. A story about the measures of what a mother would do to prove her child’s innocence when they are accused of a crime. It was one of his more personal pieces of work. He was somewhat anxious to get feedback on it. He sent it over to Fabiola as an attachment. Now, Ransom was in wait and see mode. ‘Who knows how long until she gets to actually reading it,’ he thought to himself.
Three long agonizing days later, Ransom finally heard back from Fabiola when he checked his email that afternoon.
Ransom,
How are you?
Sorry I have not gotten back to you sooner. Your story is amazing! I could not put it down. I actually read it twice. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and had a lot of heart. You are such a good writer.
I do have some suggestions for you if you do not mind. However, I do not want to merely give them to you via email or comments in the document. Would it be okay if the two of us meet up for coffee sometime this week? It would be easier to talk to you about the recommendations face-to-face.
Any suggestions on where we could meet up? I don’t mind traveling to your neck of the woods if it is more convenient for you.

Ransom was thrilled that not only did she like his work but was willing to meet him in person. He quickly wrote her back suggesting a meeting at a little coffee shop in West Bridgewater. It would only be a 34-minute drive for Fabiola to get to him. Honestly, Ransom was a bit taken aback that she was willing to drive all the way out to the boonies to talk to him in person.
The two decided to meet up on Saturday afternoon at The Bridge Coffee House, a new town establishment. A Starbucks it was not, thankfully.
When Saturday finally rolled around, Ransom dressed in his usual simple attire: gray cardigan, white long-sleeve shirt underneath, dark blue jeans, and Louis Vuitton black loafers. He gave himself a look over in the mirror one last time; he exited the house, got in his 1972 BMW 3.0 CSi, and headed to the coffee shop.
Once there, Ransom ordered an espresso and settled in a seat near the corner, but still visible for Fabiola to see him. As Ransom waited for Fabiola to arrive, his leg was shaking underneath the table. He was nervous, which was an unusual feeling for Ransom. Women hardly ever made Ransom nervous, but the woman he was meeting was for business, not pleasure.
‘Note yet at least,” Ransom thought to himself as he sipped his espresso.
The ding of the bell on the entrance door made Ransom lookup. There Fabiola was wearing a white long-sleeved fitted sweater with light blue jeans, white sneakers, and a light gray messenger bag slung over her shoulder. She looked around and noticed Ransom. Giving him a smile and wave, Fabiola made her way over to him. He stood up as she neared the table.
“Hi. How are you?” she asked and stuck out her hand for Ransom to shake.
He reciprocated the gesture and replied, “I’m good. Do you want something to drink? My treat.”
Fabiola accepted Ransom’s offer with an iced tea. “Is there a restroom around that I could use?”
Ransom pointed to where the restrooms were, and Fabiola excused herself while he got her iced tea. Paying for the iced tea, Ransom went back to the table and proceeded to wait again.
“That was quite a drive,” spoke Fabiola as she sat down in the seat across from Ransom, “Gorgeous scenery. I tend to not venture too far outside of Boston much.”
“Yeah, it is a nice quiet town. Not much goes on here.”
“I’m kind of surprised that you don’t choose to live in Boston. Figured you would want to be in a more urban area,” said Fabiola.
Ransom shifted in his seat to cross his legs, “I used to live in Boston during my 20s. Decided to move here a couple of years ago. Helped clear my head a little.”
Taking a sip of her iced tea, Fabiola asked, “Is that when you really began to write?”
Ransom let out a small laugh and cleared his throat, “Yeah…I just…needed a hobby to preoccupy my time.”
“Well, I have to tell you that it was a good idea,” said Fabiola as she began to rummage through her bag and pulled out a binder to place on the table.
“This story is outstanding,” she complimented.
Ransom felt the heat on his cheeks from her praise. It felt good to have someone appreciate his work, which was not a feeling he was used to.
“I do have some questions if you don’t mind me asking? Nothing bad, just some clarifications.”
“Sure. Ask away,” Ransom responded casually. He was doing his best to not seem too eager.
“What made you decide to have the main character a mother rather than a father? I ask that because, normally, male authors tend to write the protagonist as male. You don’t really see many male authors write crime novels with a main female character,” Fabiola pointed out and went on to tell him, “You also wrote the character really well. Like, she feels like a real person. She was fully developed and fleshed out. I was totally rooting for her throughout the whole story. And the side characters are nicely written as well. Each chapter kept the reader on its toes. You never knew what to expect. Nothing felt forced or out of place. Nothing dragged on. Here is a copy of my notes. Nothing too major. Only certain suggestions like clarification or more descriptive details for certain paragraphs.”
Ransom looked at her incredibly detailed notes. “I appreciate you doing this. Thank you,” Ransom said earnestly.
“Do you plan on getting that published?” Fabiola asked him.
Letting out a light chuckle, Ransom told her that most likely he would not.
“Why?”
“I prefer to write for myself. Not for an audience. Plus, there is the likelihood that I’ll get compared to my grandfather or people thinking that nepotism is involved,” answered Ransom as he continued to flip through Fabiola’s notes.
Fabiola merely sat back and took the time to really look at the man before her. With dark hair and blue eyes, a strong jaw, and a somewhat crooked nose, Fabiola could not deny that he was handsome. Before the meeting, Fabiola asked Charlie about what he knew about Ransom. Boy, she got an honest earful from Charlie. While Charlie complimented Ransom, there was a hint of pity in his voice.
“He’s got so much potential, but he wastes it with booze and women. The poor boy did have a stint in rehab when he was younger. It’s so parents of his. Always giving him money instead of love and affection,” Charlie shared with Fabiola.
“You don’t want to fail at the one thing you believe you are actually good at,” Fabiola stated to Ransom and added, “So, it is easier to not put yourself out there in the first place.”

Input and confirm your emails as below, After clicking on Start Free Trial the thank you page will appear with details of the download link (as below).
Get to your email inbox and you’ll find the email with the download link Setting up your social media account on JARVEE Once you’ve downloaded and installed JARVEE, use the login details you received in the email to log in.
To set up your social media account on JARVEE, click on SOCIAL PROFILES on the left sidebar. Now click on ADD PROFILE and select which social media platform you want to automate on. Note that JARVEE has all these social media platforms (image below).
On this screen, input your username and preferred password and click on VERIFY ACCOUNT , once this is done the status will change from pending to VALID . Now click on the TOOLS option on the left side of the menu tab. Click on the account you have created and you’ll be able to see the various features JARVEE has to offer.
Now let’s try and set up a simple #Instagram account Let’s look at the various options we have on JARVEE and the various ways we are able to customize them. We’ll start by setting up our account(as shown above). once set and validated it should appear as below.
The #Instagram account I have chosen for this demo is relatively new with only 82 followers, You’ll also see that the tool has calculated the average engagement for this account and shows it at 20.7.
click on TOOLS, to view the likes feature, located on the vertical tab on the left side. This is the screen it should show.
The information icon will display the fields (Follow Back, Like, Comment, Follow and Unfollow). Ideally, it’s highlighted in blue , if at any time its highlighted in red, You only need to place the cursor above it for the tool to tell you what the issue is.
In my example above, there are no more users to Unfollow hence the red warning.
Click on the name of the account (here: #Instagram Account 1 ) and then go to the Like tab.
The information on this interface will appear overwhelming at first glance but after some getting used to and playing around with the different settings you’ll get really comfortable making changes whenever you feel the need to.
When you’re on the Like tab, there are 3 sub-tabs for you to work with: The Settings sub-tab is where you set the Like limits, intervals, filters, and some other special actions.
The Sources sub-tab is where you choose criteria to like posts, be it by keywords ( hashtags ), location, users among others.2
For this tutorial, I want my #Instagram account to like posts of my followers and posts of users who interacted with my posts . The purpose of this is to encourage those users to give back and thereby boosting my engagement . PS: The number (10) you see beside each source is meant to set priority. Where the number is set highest, the tool will put emphasis on that source and less on the others.
Here’s my screenshot of Sources when it’s set up as desired:
Under Like posts of users that interacted with posts on target accounts, I set my username as the target account. I also set it to like posts of users who interacted with my posts within the last 1440 minutes (24hrs). You’re totally free to set your preferred minutes.
Next, we’re going to go back to the Settings sub-tab to set the filters. I’ll just share the screenshots:
Here I want the tool to like around 104 posts/day of users who follow me and users who interacted with my posts . You’ll notice that I’ve set the tool to like a maximum of 50-100 posts per day and increase that figure by 50 each day until it reaches a maximum of 500 likes/day .
This means that JARVEE will continue to like around 104 posts/day of my followers and users who interacted with my posts even after the maximum of 500 set has been reached. The remainder (500-104) will be reserved for other tools . For instance, in the Follow tab, I have JARVEE set to like posts of users immediately after following them .
In the USER FILTERS , I want JARVEE to skip non-English users. I choose so because the products I promote are only suitable for users in English speaking countries. I also want it to like only posts of users who have a profile image . This helps to weed out bot accounts (fake accounts).
Related: Who unfollowed me on Instagram? Furthermore, I want JARVEE to like only posts of users with less than 200 followers . Reason being, users with a lot of followers usually don’t like to ‘give back’ . I also don’t want to like posts of users who are following too many people as these usually tend to be bot accounts.
In the POST FILTERS, I want JARVEE to like both images and videos . Let’s limit it to posts with less than 100 likes because it’s hard to get noticed when you like posts with too many likes. I will also like random posts from the most recent user’s post . This helps to keep this automation looking natural.
I haven’t changed anything else in the AFTER LIKE ACTIONS but you’re free to change anything you want there.
Now scroll back up and start the tool as illustrated below.
