this book I'm reading feels like something from wattpad in 2009 but I can't put it down. like there's plenty here that's cringe (the long denim and corduroy skirts, describing every outfit in detail, the casual misogyny brushed off because the mmc gives puppy dog eyes and says sowwy), but there's just enough good that I can't stop reading it.

#i don't think i can recommend it in good faith lol #and not to be rude but you can tell the author's age to a degree #at times it feels unbeliveably dated and technically there's an in universe reason for it #but the execution is off #like it feels like it's from 2009 because of the author and she tried to hide her dated sensibilities with that in universe excuse #it's hard to describe lol #also it's free with KU so i will be reading the rest of the series unless something truly terrible happens lol #book rants #dnrb

Reading a book on ku that was once a ghost fic and while I'm trying to separate the fact that it was a ghost fic from its non-fanfic form all I can think is papa would NOT say/do that :/

Dear Dragon Free for One Day and Rumoured Resurgence On Sale for the Week

Well, in some months it’ll be time to do a Christmas Sale. So I decided to do my last sale before then to celebrate a month since releasing my second book!

The Union was a political declaration of cooperation. Humans, mages, fairies, and many other magical and non-magical species worked together under the same king to maximize efficiency. The kingdom was thriving in comparison to its neighbours. Yet, not every species saw their quality of life improve. One species saw very little of the Union, as they vanished shortly after joining. Most people didn’t think much of dragons’ disappearance, supposing dragons up and left. Itazu was not one of those people, see, that would mean they left her behind. And from what little she remembered of her mother, and the stories her father told, it seemed unlikely. Itazu hid her heritage from the world around her. She did as her father recommended, she didn’t transform or use her strength. She worked at a busy bookstore and buried her curiosity deep down. Until a letter arrived addressed ‘Dear Dragon’, promising answers. Itazu had common sense, but not enough of it to outweigh the now growing tree of curiosity. She followed the instructions in the letter, onto a train heading to an unknown location. Had she known she wouldn’t be back by Monday, she would have left a note for her father, but it was too late for that now.

Itazu had gone from being the last dragon, to one of nine. Dragons had gone from being an extinct species to a talking point in most major cities.

The dragons had earned a reputation for trouble after Itazu killed a local political figured and revealed the existence of her species to the entire kingdom.

Dragons, once believed extinct, were now gossiped about in all corners of the kingdoms. Gossip such as "They are big terrifying monsters." "They've infiltrated the palace." "They are starting a rebellion."

The truth was Itazu acted in self defence, the man she killed a hunter who killed her mother and many other of her species. The remaining dragons were few, most of them mere children. But the rumours were dangerous, the dragons were thereby kept inside the palace walls under the protection of the king. Meanwhile, there are still many hunters alive and posing a threat to the remaining dragons, Elizabeth a retired guard decides to head back onto the field alongside a mage, her wife and the oldest living dragon to take them down.

Itazu is restless and wishes to leave the palace.

Kai on the other hand becomes suspicious of the king and his role in dragon's downfall.

Will they manage to stay out of trouble? Unlikely.

You've been staying with Travis for a week and a half. You weren't originally planning on staying this long, but Travis got you to agree to staying just 3 days and then he upped it to a week and now you've agreed to stay with him until you can start walking again.

You've still been working as his assistant, but only doing around 1/3 of your original duties. Even though Travis lived in a huge house, you were starting to get tired of being pent up.

You were used to constantly being busy, whether you were doing something for Travis or something for yourself. You weren't used to having this much free time and it was starting to get to you.

Maria walked into the living room, "Do you need anything sweetie? I'm going to start cleaning upstairs."

"No, I'm okay. Thank you Maria." Maria was Travis's maid and the one of the sweetest ladies on earth. Travis asked Maria to stay with you full time when he was at practice, since he wasn't comfortable leaving you alone.

She was constantly checking in on you making sure you didn't need anything.

You threw the book you were reading onto the couch, not even bothering to mark where you left off. It's not like you were far, considering you couldn't make it past the 4th page.

This was the 5th book you had read since staying at Travis's and although you were a fan of reading you couldn't find it in yourself to read anything today. You tried watching a show earlier, but even that was boring. So was tik tok and every other social media app.

You'd finished a puzzle Travis had in his house, realizing you were not a fan of puzzles.

You felt stupid for being bored in a house with endless things to do, but you just weren't used to being so still, you were a busy body.

Travis was due to be home in an hour and then Maria would be going home, you liked when Travis was here. He was pretty fun to hang out with and he would tell you about his practice and different things he would learn about his teammates.

But today you were kinda dreading talking to him. You had been waiting for your bill from the hospital to come, but it still hand't. You were having your neighbor check for you and she hadn't seen anything in your mail, from the hospital.

You decided to call up there today, only to find out that it had already been paid for. You knew there was only one person who would've and could've been able to pay for it.

Travis had already agreed to cover some of it, but you didn't want him paying for all of it.

Maria left as soon as Travis got home. You were waiting in the living room when he came into the house. "Hey, how was your day?" He asked, dropping his bag on the floor.

"Fine, how was yours?"

"Good, exhausting." He sat down on the opposite end of the couch you were currently sitting on.

"Travis, I have to ask you something?" His eyebrows furrowed and he turned to face you.

"Ok..."

You sighed, "Did you pay for my surgery? I called KU medical center and they said it was already taken care of."

He bit the inside of his lip, "Yea, I covered it."

"I thought we agreed that you were only covering the portion I couldn't. I didn't need you to pay for the whole thing." You were frustrated, that he went behind your back.

"I didn't think it'd be a big deal. I have the money, so I figured I'd help you out." Travis didn't see anything wrong with what he'd done. He was only trying to help you out and make your life a little easier.

You grabbed the check out of your pocket and handed it to him. "Here, I'm paying you back." He got up from the couch and dropped the check in your lap.

"I don't want it." He simply stated, before entering the kitchen. You got up to follow him. Just as you were about to speak he cut you off, "Want anything to eat? I was gonna make some pasta."

"Travis." You frowned, leaning on your crutch.

"Y/n" He frowned, mimicking you but not for long because he broke out into a laugh. "I'm sorry," He said bending over and holding his stomach as he laughed, "I just can't take you seriously over this."

You didn't bother answer, opting to glare at him instead.

After he calmed down he saw you were still pissed. He sighed, getting serious again. "Please, let me pay for this. It's my way of saying thanks, for everything you do. You're a huge help to me and I honestly don't know what I would do without you."

"Travis, this is a lot of money. I just don't feel comfortable with you spending that much on me. Not to mention everything else you've done for me. Like you literally have given up your room for me." You weren't used to people being so generous and you didn't know what to think.

"If it helps its like pocket change to me." He joked, before heading back over to the walk in pantry. He came out a few seconds later, with a box of pasta in his hand.

"Doesn't help." You quipped, getting onto the stool as the kitchen island.

This was becoming a regular routine, you keeping him company while he cooked dinner. It was nice, you enjoyed it more than you cared to admit.

Plus Travis was a surprisingly good cook. "I don't know how I've been living without your food for this long." You said after swallowing a bite of his pasta. "You should go to jail for depriving me of your cooking skills."

He smirked, happy that you liked his food. After you guys were done eating Travis cleared the table, while you picked out a movie to watch.

He plopped down on the opposite end of the couch, "What are we watching"

"Den of thieves, I heard it's good. It has ice cube's son in it I think." You pressed play and pulled the blanket Travis had on his couch over you.

Travis enjoyed the movie and turned to you when the credits started to roll. "Good pic-" He stopped when he realized you were already asleep.

A small smile graced his lips, at the sight of you curled up on his couch.

He gently called your name, trying to gauge if you were truly asleep or just 'resting your eyes'. This wasn't the first time you'd fallen asleep during a movie and each time you always insisted that you were 'just resting your eyes'.

When you didn't respond, he realized you were clonked out. He debated over what to do. Should he wake you up? Leave you on the couch? At least it was a comfy couch.

He opted for carrying you to your room, hopefully without waking you. He carefully gathered you in his arms, and while you did stir a bit you never fully woke up.

He was half way to your room, when you nuzzled your face into his chest. His heart stopped as he looked down, to realize you were still sleeping.

Your hand was clutching his shirt, as he carried you the rest of the way. He gently set you down in his bed, on top of the covers. He went to his closet and grabbed a blanket, placing it over you.

He quietly left his room, turning off the lights and shutting the door careful not to wake you.

i need people to listen to me about metoku friendship.

metori has a bunch of REALLY high quality games that never got popular because they have like. 12 copies globally and he lets kusuo play them (he pities poor kusuo who has been playing the most dogshit media for years)

kusuo picks cafes to go to and metori pays. (he likes bragging that THE saiki kusuo initiated a hangout with him. kusuo likes the free food.)

(this is specifically with my hc of saiki typing like a sugar girl) after a bit metori and ku start typing like. the same. and everyone is like "haha saiko you type a lot like saiki! whats up with that?" and it turns out that ku and meto talk like 24/7 (not rlly but way more than ku even thinks about his other friends)

Hello, may we know what are your thoughts about ita/saku

I dislike ItaS*ku. A lot. Detailed answer below the cut.

I don't understand this ship and it's the only Itachi ship that makes no sense and that I cannot tolerate. Everyone else he's shipped with acknowledged him in some way, understood him to some extent, and thematically they were compatible. Even if I see Itachi and Sasuke's relationship as perfectly, strictly platonic, I understand why people see the potential for more in them and why they want to explore this in their fics or art. It's the same with ShiIta and KisaIta and the rarepairs like KakaIta and ItaDei. But ItaS*ku is a pairing that makes zero sense to me.

Itachi is perceptive, thoughtful, puts his own needs aside, takes up the responsibility when he does wrong and tries to change his approach, doesn't need and ask for other people's help, and has self-respect. Sakura is the complete opposite but in a bad way. She isn't perspective, is selfish, her own needs come first - the world can go to hell, and has no self-respect. They aren't a match in any way. Their "polar opposite" isn't endearing under any circumstances.

She has a "girlboss" like personality or that's how she's presented. She's badass, a quick learner, strong, powerful etc., but she's not compatible with Itachi just for those reasons. To make them work as a ship, Sakura's characterization would have to change enormously. She'd have to be completely ooc for that.

In canon too, she saw Sasuke change his mind about Itachi, and while Naruto and Kakashi at least acknowledged it, Sakura never bothered to know about the truth. He, too, never acknowledged her presence except for a scene in one of the movies. In canon, never. She was nonexistent to him and he was just Sasuke's enemy to her. Why would I really ship them together.

With Itachi's other ships there's love, understanding, and compassion, and/or at least some thematic relevance which Ita/Saku entirely lacks. It's not the case of 'she's too good for Itachi' as many of her fans want to claim in regards to both Itachi and Sasuke. She's not a bad character and I like her, but ItaS*ku doesn't work as a ship.
