I cannot stress enough that this might be the most important doll I've posted about.
Tumblr media
Meet Jafra, the Palestinian fashion doll.
Information on her took a bit of digging, but as far as I can tell she debuted in either December 2015 or January 2016. She was initially available for purchase through her website, and after a year began to be (and still is as) sold at Hamleys in Jordan, UAE, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. In 2021 the Palestine Museum began selling her for $49.99 each, and is now completely sold out.
Tumblr media
Each doll wears a detailed thobe, the longer one in front for their bridal collection. The thobe is a traditional Palestinian dress with tatreez (embroidery) which uses color to indicate what region the wearer is from. During the First Intifada in the 80s, it became a symbol of resistance against Israeli Apartheid, and of Palestinians' connection to their land. (Credit to Handmade Palestine and @nickysfacts for this information)
Tumblr media
As far as I can tell based on discrepancy in stock photos, the dolls with embroidered thobes were considered collectors items with a higher price. Meanwhile the details might have been printed for playline/budget releases, likely to lower the price for better availability.
Jafra's dream is to "empower all the beautiful girls from the Middle East". She lives away from her homeland, but hopes to design and build her own house in Palestine. She grows Chamomile and Thyme in her garden, studies architectural design in college, and always tries to volunteer and help others. Her thobe binds her to her home country, passed down from her ancestors.
"Jafra is beyond a doll... beyond an idea. It's a deep-rooted tradition mixed with history and memories"
Tumblr media
I hope I have made it abundantly clear that I do and always will support Palestine, and encourage anyone who considers this genocide a "war against Hamas" to unfollow and block me immediately. You have been given every opportunity to educate yourself and sympathize with the innocent Palestinians suffering at the hands of Israel, and your ignorance does not deserve a listening ear over them.
To my followers, I implore you to do your daily click. Contact your representatives. Attend protests. Donate or buy an e-sim if you can. We need to let our government know we are not going to fucking stand for this, and support Palestinians however remotely possible.
A ceasefire WILL be reached. Palestine WILL be free. No matter what actions Israel and its disgusting supporters commit Palestine WILL NEVER DIE.
Ramadan Kareem, and Free Palestine.

“My name is Nour Saqer, for the name remains when all is lost. I turned 22 years old last November. Yes. My youthful time was wasted on horrible days. Yes. Those days still continue.
My name is Nour Saqer. And I am 22 years old. I am a fifth-year dental student at Al-Azhar University of Gaza. I am an aspiring student. I am eager and passionate about my studies. Until the last minute, I was allowed to stay at my house on Oct. 7th. 2023 I was still working on a scientific research proposal that was supposed to be published by me and my teammates of young researchers late in November, that year.
Tumblr media
This picture of me was taken late 2022 during an international dental conference held in campus.
During my college years alone. Me and my family have had to forcefully evacuate, and run out of our house four times. In 2019, 2021, 2022, and finally in 2023. Each time was in fear of the same threat; meeting our deaths under rubble. My name is Nour Saqer. And I have always been a Gazan. Each of those past times. If we were fortunate enough, we would discover that our home was in repairable damage. There would be a roof over our heads still. We were still fortunate. We still had luck.
But ever since October 7th. I haven't returned home. We were among the first families to evacuate Al-Rimal neighborhood from the very first day of this genocide, we had to turn our backs to it and expect no return. Two floors of my family house, along with my father's store, and only source of income, have been severely destructed due to neighboring missiles. And my university buildings were heavily exploded. All forms of life have been reaped from my city. My hometown.
Tumblr media
This is what's left of our campus. I was supposed to have my graduation ceremony here.
My name is Nour Saqer. And I had an enthusiastic heart. And an energetic body. I played sports and walked down every street until I couldn't. I loved my family and friends dearly. I wrote poems about them. I spent time loving them and cherishing their presence. I loved life with all its little things. With all its unattainable things. I loved the grass and the tall buildings. And I loved all people. I loved my people. All their faces. All their talents. All their hidden lives. All we shared. Until we didn't. Everything I have ever loved I lost.
Tumblr media
This picture of me was taken during a happy moment on the roof of our house.
This is all that is left of that picture now.
I am currently sheltered in Rafah with my family of 7. Sharing a place with 30 other homeless people. By the end of Ramadan, me and my family would have to evacuate and seek shelter for yet the 8th time due to housing problems. I am so tired of not having any sense of stability. Nothing to guarantee. Nothing to call my own. Every passing minute the situation in Rafah gets worse. Every passing minute I am losing loved ones and relatives. Every passing minute costs me my sanity. Costs me health. Costs me my basic rights to simply live.
I have nothing left to lose or pay the price with except for my life.
I don’t know how to retell my life story in limited words, how to make the most ordinary moments sound precious. How do I equate my value to someone deserving a life of safety? How do I shape myself as someone worth saving?
I have been interviewing myself for days. All my stories are choking me. All my grief is piling up and muting me. I keep trying to find a way to present the best of myself. To make myself someone you'd want to look at. Listen to. And even more,
Help.
I am finally placing both hope and faith in your helpful hands. I am asking you. Please put an end to this continuing tragedy. And help me get to safety. Before it's too late.
It should be in your knowledge that:
It costs $5,000 per person to get out of Rafah through the Boarder Crossing to Egypt. The rest of the donations will be to secure my tution money for the fifth and final year of dental school.
Thank you.”

OKAY SO WHO ASKED FOR A POST THAT DETAILS DAMIANS CONNECTIONS TO MAGIC?.. nobody? oh okay.
(be forewarned, this is long)
now after ignoring batman 666, let's see what we have.
ROBIN: SON OF BATMAN (2015)
Tumblr media
now, in robin: son of batman #1 It's confirmed that after his death in batman incorporated, damian went to hell. Hell is usually connected with the more magical side of the dc universe, but that's not it.
The entirety of the comic delves into damians connections to more mystical things. mythical swords and magical ancient towers, weird extinct bat-dragons, magical cults that want to destroy the whole world, etc etc.
this is easily regarded as one of damians best comics and having peak damian characterisation, so obviously Damian being magically inclined can easily work well with his character.
Now, after a barrel load of compliments, let's get to the extremely negative side of things.
TEEN TITANS (2016)
Tumblr media
Damian's cloned brother has magic and that sentence is about as much as i care for this book. Moving on.
BATMAN (2016)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, dog shit damian characterisation, but here we go. Damian here actually shows an ability to use a binding spell and has a wand, making some sort of deal with a random demon, but a far cry from damian apparently selling his soul in batman 666. Moving on finally out of rebirth because that was a bad time for Damian's character.
ROBIN (2021)
Tumblr media
Now we go back to the good. Apparently from the maternal part of damians family, magic is more commonplace. ra's even having a whole spell book to his name. Robin 2021 kinda toys with the ghul family and the lazarus pits magical and devilish side which isn't new... but it's new to involve damian!
In the final parts of this story, Damian's heart specifically is used as a plot device, lord deathman even dubbing it as "the bloodstream of the demon" and ruh (ra's' mother) uses it as a power source to fuel demon summonings, which started the Lazarus rain event.
TEEN TITANS DARK (Unreleased)
Tumblr media
Back in early 2023 (i think) dc teased a sort of "teen titans dark" with damian, black alice and monkey prince. The "dark" moniker referencing Justice league dark, a magic team made up of magic users that solve magical bullshit. It's a good book, recommended read, i just thought I'd add this to the pile.
Detective comics/Knight terrors
Tumblr media
Now, including these two together because they're about the same topic: Dreams.
damian is confirmed to have some sort of control over dreams and sleep, defeating demons that show up in his sleep, yet never actually disappear when he wakes up. He also has an ability to stay awake after a massive worldwide phenomenon causes everyone, even the dream masters that taught damian, to sleep and experience night terrors.
Dreams are, again, connected to the magical side of the dc universe. Now I'm not going to pretend like i actually read sandman to you, i can't lie on ramadan, so let's all give me a pass here for my lack of understanding of all that.
Batman and robin (2023)
Tumblr media
In this, damian mentions a bit of off screen monster hunting with Frankenstein and lays a trap that lights someone on fire. I used to think this was some sort of hex but this artwork is extremely unclear, but since Frankenstein is mentioned and from my knowledge dc's Frankenstein is magic let's pretend this is some sort.
As an extra note: this guy definitely died. There's no way about it, he got lit on fire with nobody helping him. He's gone. Damian just killed a man.
Extra Extra notes:
talia using magic!
now, i haven't included these examples in the "the ghuls have magic" segment because uh...
(batman: the doom that came to Gotham/dc bombshells)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yeah...
Not only are these interpretations of talia EXTREMELY orientalist but also just generally out of character and could've been done with any randomly introduced characters.
For the unknowing white american people in the crowd: arabs actually don't only dress in revealing "belly dancer" outfits and lanterns. i know, shocking, we actually wear normal clothes.
And just to add again, there's a lot of stories that include ra's having magic, but I'm not the biggest ra's head (lol) so i didn't read them all, i implore u to do your own research because I'm not doing it.
this about wraps it up. thank you to the magic damian believers may we all win someday.

Full transcript of the interview VICE news journalist Isobel Young had with Hamas fighter Abu Khalid in 2021, following the bombing of Gaza of May of that year
Isobel Young: What makes you so certain that joining Hamas, joining the Al-Qassam Brigades and ultimately turning to violence is the answer here?
Abu Khalid: There's no solution but this weapon [his rifle]
"Abu Khalid is 25 years old. He's one of thousands who joined Hamas as a teenager and has been active in the group ever since"
IY: The fact that you're down here, in tunnels that have been built under civilian areas, launching rockets from civilian areas as well. Doesn't that mean that you're endangering Palestinians that you're claiming to be fighting for?
AK: We are sacrificing ourselves and our times and everything we do in order to ensure a better future for our children.
IY: But are you also not sacrificing the civilians that are directly above you?
AK: Of course we don't want them to get killed or get targeted, but this is the only choice we have. This is what we can do. And they are supporting us. You can't go to the sea, you can't go to the air, you can't go to anywhere. So, that's why we are building tunnels. This is the only mean which is possible for Al-Qassam brigade.
IY: Over 250 Palestinians are dead after these just eleven days. You know, 13 Israelis are dead. This is just one of so many escalations over the last few years and it's only a matter of time before the next one. What is any of this really achieving?
AK: The one who started this war was not Hamas or the Palestinians but the Israeli occupation and uhm...
IY: You guys fired the first rockets.
AK: Who said that? We warned them! We tell them not to storm our Holy Land [videos of the IDF attacking Palestinians in Al Aqsa during Ramadan in May 7] We're talking about a holy site for muslims. It doesn't mean that the first rocket being launched from Gaza started the war. The first aggression is the occupation, they stormed our home. So we'll keep going unless they Israeli stop their occupying our lands.
--
Later Isobel went to a Hamas training summer camp for teenagers.
Isobel Young: What would you say to people who would say that you are brainwashing young children and you're training them to fight?
Abu Yahia: We don't force the students to sign up for these camps. As soon as this generation was born they witnessed bombing, destruction and the panic the people of Gaza experienced.
IY: And do you think it's this kind of experiences that motivate these young people to come to training camps like these?
AY: Definitely, definitely.
--
Transcript of tweet below
Video of a Palestinian child from Gaza, wounded and crying. The tweet reads: This child's father was killed by Israel a week ago. The first thing he said while crying was that tomorrow he would enlist in the jerusalem Brigades (Al-Quds Brigades) and avenge his father against the Zionists. Israel is the one that creates these resistance fighters.

[The Hill is US Private Media]
Earlier this year, The Hill published an Op-Ed I wrote that was titled “Puerto Rico’s political status, an issue of national security.” In that piece I presented a series of events to stress and relate the political future of Puerto Rico, its importance to the U.S. national security needs and how foreign powers push their agenda through the pro-independence movement within the island.
This past June, the United Nations Decolonization Committee met to discuss the issue of Puerto Rico at the request of Cuba. That body also passed the 41st consecutive resolution asking for the island’s self-determination and independence, with complete disregard of the will of its residents, who are US citizens. I tried to set the record straight by submitting a written and oral statement but the representative of Cuba had other plans. My statement blew the Cuban representative’s mind that led to an interruption rampage. Somehow my statement[...] made him forget that he was not in Cuba and that the UN is a place where different points of view are supposed to come together in order to encourage a thorough discussion of the issues pressing the world. I can attest that this wasn’t one of the UN’s best moments.
But what was he trying to hide? Simple, for the Cuban representative, the truth is inconvenient. Its ties with China and Russia are publicly known and widely reported. The Wall Street Journal, in June 20, 2023, wrote “Beijing Plans a New Training Facility in Cuba.” This is something that the Cuban representative did not want on the UN record. But why would China want to establish a military training facility in Cuba? Maybe for the same reason, the Chinese wanted to buy what used to be Roosevelt Roads Naval Station in Puerto Rico but couldn’t. [...]
In June 2023, Francisco Urdinez wrote for the [US industry thinktank] Wilson Center, “At the OAS, where China is an observer, an analysis by George Meek showed that between 1948 and 1974, the United States influenced 75 percent of the 297 roll-call votes. That influence has clearly diminished. Between 2001 and 2021, countries in which China has displaced the United States economically were 26 percentage points less likely to vote in alignment with Washington than other member states.” This clearly represents a shift in political power because of ill conceived policies that fail to recognize the importance of U.S. leadership in Latin America.[...]
It is important to remember that the involvement of foreign powers and interests in Latin America is not new. In 2011, the subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence of the U.S. House of Representatives held a hearing on Hezbollah in Latin America — Implications on U.S. Homeland Security, and received the testimony of Ambassador Roger F. Noriega, former US Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OEA) and stated, “Hugo Chaves hosted a terror summit of senior leaders of Hamas (supreme leader “Khaled Meshal), Hezbollah (unnamed “chief operations”), and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (Secretary General Ramadan Abdullah Mohammad Shallah) in Caracas on August 22, 2010. That extraordinary meeting was organized at the suggestion of Iran,… In addition to the summit, operatives from other countries gathered in Caracas to meet with these terrorist chieftains.”
These are but a few indications that Puerto Rico’s political status may have a significant impact on U.S. security and foreign policy interests. The island’s current political status is not sustainable and when it comes to an end there will be only two options: it either becomes a state, thereby ensuring a strategic U.S. presence at the crossroads of the Americas, or it becomes a sovereign country which would be tantamount to ceding the island to our adversaries. The longer Congress takes to act on Puerto Rico’s political status, the greater the likelihood of the latter outcome.[...]
[The Author] José Enrique Meléndez-Ortiz, Esq., LLM., is representative at large in Puerto Rico’s House of Representatives.
"Puerto Rican Independence is a Russian-Chinese-Iranian Plot" now a mainstream narrative being pushed among self described progressive media by sitting politicians [22 Oct 23]

On this day, 25 February 1994, a 37-year-old Zionist extremist from the US massacred 29 Palestinian civilians and wounded over 100 others as they prayed at a mosque in the city of Hebron during Ramadan, the Muslim holy month. The shooter entered the Ibrahimi mosque, also known as the Cave of the Patriarch, and massacred worshippers until members of the crowd were able to disarm and kill him. Protests then broke out against the murders outside the mosque, and the Israeli army responded by killing demonstrators outside the mosque, as well as outside a nearby hospital and at a local cemetery as the dead were being buried. Palestinians estimate the death toll at 50 to 70, with 250 injured, and some survivors believed there was a second gunman who was never apprehended. Many survivors also believe that the Israeli military was involved in the attack. One, Kamal Abdeen, who was paralysed in the shooting, told Al Jazeera: "The soldiers always searched us before we entered the mosque and we had to pass through a metal detector". But "On that day the machine was turned off and no-one searched us. There were fewer soldiers there than usual and they were relaxed and laughing". After the massacre, Israeli authorities forcibly closed down over 500 local businesses and sealed off large portions of the local area to Palestinians. They also partitioned the mosque in two parts, with the biggest part now reserved exclusively for Jewish settlers and visitors. Significant numbers of Israeli citizens also celebrated the massacre, and many Zionist extremists came to pay tribute at the grave of the murderer. One of these was Itamar Ben-Gvir, who visited the grave on his first date with his future wife, and also hung a photo of the murderer on his living room wall for many years. In 2021 Ben-Gvir was elected to Israel's parliament, and the following year he became the minister of national security. As someone with a "platform", I feel the need to speak out about this. I think the censorship of media on TikTok related to Palestine is insane. Like, I rarely ever see anything about it on TikTok anymore, and I found out it's because they apparently tend to censor or block out certain trigger words (and I figure Palestine is one of them). When I do hear about it, words like "Watermelonia" is used as a substitute.
Another thing I feel the need to point out is that not many people really talked about Israel's Eid 2021 surprise, bombing. The sky was practically ablaze with how many bombs they shot out onto the innocent people of Palestine, and it's disgusting. It's disgusting how long this has been going on. It's been around 75 years (correct me if I am wrong) since this conflict began. As Ramadan is arriving soon, it's becoming more and more apparent that the people of Palestine will not be able to experience a peaceful Ramadan because Israel keeps coming back for more every singular year. Astaghfirullah, It's absolutely abhorrent.
What's going on in Palestine is a genocide, and we, as human beings with basic emotional intelligence, empathy, and capacity, have the ability to do something about it. The fact that anyone would do something against it is completely beyond me. I pray for Palestine everyday, as this is absolutely tragic. My heart will always go out to them for the tragedies they are taking on. Palestine is incredibly strong to be handling this, and so are its people.
That being said, here's a good resource I discovered while on Twitter. arab.org is a website in which all you have to do to help out is click a button. It's great for people who can't afford to donate or are unsure as to how they can support Palestine. A link to an article below on what's going on in Palestine is also provided, since some people might not be caught up (surprisingly, seeing how so much has happened already).

Not really 3d related…
I’ve been studying Islam and wearing hijab on and off since 2021. I took my shahada alone in my room in 2022 but I go thru really religious phases and then I miss worldly things and drop it. I feel terrible like I have such a hard time when I’m at my lowest believing in Allah SWT. I was so excited to be able to finally partake in Ramadan just a couple months ago and now here I am knee deep in an 3d and struggling to believe in a higher power. My mom is evil about me being a hijabi I can’t even get into that part but it makes it 100% more difficult. Being in a small town people are also soooooo fucking mean when I’m in jilbab khimar or hijab. I have no Muslimah friends or even acquaintances. It’s so lonely. I think my brain just relates religion to all these difficulties and emotional turmoil that I instinctively pull away to get a break. If Allah SWT is really up there looking down on me I feel so ashamed.

Hibatullah Akundzada, the reclusive leader of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, rejected the idea of compromising when it comes to restrictions on women's life in the country this week.
The leader of the Islamic theocracy, which retook Afghanistan in 2021 following the withdrawal of American forces that summer, addressed thousands of worshippers on the holiday of Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan.
Speaking and leading prayers at the central mosque of Kandahar, Akhundzada proclaimed that he "will not take even a step away from the Islamic law," according to a report in Voice of America.
Taliban fighters celebrate on the second anniversary of the fall of Kabul on a street near the US embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, August 15, 2023. (credit: REUTERS)
Taliban has banned women from public parks, gyms
"I am administering God's Hudud," Akundzada said, using an Arabic word that literally translates to "limits," and refers to the sets of laws and punishments prescribed by Islam. "They object to it, saying public stoning and hand-cutting are against their laws and human rights... Islam is a divine religion that deserves respect, but you insult it instead."
The Taliban has suspended girls' education past the sixth grade and banned many women from the workplace, as well as from public spaces such as parks, gyms, and bathhouses, VOA reported.
There is only one publicly available photograph of Akhundzada, who has led the Taliban since 2016. His speech was broadcast on Taliban radio, according to VOA.

Hey! Do you have the video where the Israelis are chanting something like the only good Arab is a dead Arab and wishing for a second nabka?

The way the western media covers news in Palestine I swear. This was during Ramadan of 2021
(Each year during Ramadan, Israeli occupation forces attack people in the mosque in the middle of prayers and the western media covers it as ‘conflict’)

I grew up. A lot. In this last five years.
Kalo emang lagi sama-sama sibuk, gapapa kok cucian piring numpuk, nanti aja dikerjainnya weekend bareng-bareng. Semisal energi seharian udah abis dan ngantuk banget, gapapa kok skip tarawih semalem. Kebetulan disini bukanya udah diatas jam 7 malem. Kadang abis makan malem tuh suka ngantuk banget ga kuat.
