Happiness and Prosperity Cooking Oil

If you've followed me for any period of time, you know I love kitchen witchcraft! This recipe is for a cooking oil, but you could also use it to dress objects, candles and yourself! Used in combination with other charged magical foods or even on it's own, you can build quite the potent spell. A drizzle of this in your pasta, or over fish or to stir fry vegetables adds a dash of magic to your meal and draws all those good things towards you!

Ingredients

Olive Oil (associated with peace and healing)

Bay Leaf (wealth, abundance, wishes)

Dill sprigs (luck, protection)

Oregano sprigs (good fortune, happiness)

Marjoram sprigs (wealth, protection)

Parsley sprigs (prosperity)

Crush your herbs in a mortar and pestle to release their flavor and aroma. Place them in the bottom of the bottle in which you’re going to hold your oil. Place your hands on the bottle and push your energy into it, visualizing the peace and prosperity you want the oil to help you achieve. Allow the herbs to charge in the sun for a while, or set them amongst some green and gold candles. If you’d like, place some money around the herbs as they charge, or even write your desires on a piece of paper, allow it to sit with the herbs for a time, and burn it using one of the candles. Once your herbs are charged to your liking, pour the olive oil over them, seal the bottle tight, and leave in a cool, dark place. The herbs will infuse the oil even more over time, so this grows stronger with age. You can strain it if you like as well. Use it in any recipe you wish, though it would work especially well in tomato based dishes.

Let’s Talk Money Magic

Money bowls. Green candles. Magical Cashbooks. These things all work but how effective are they really in the brand scheme of things?

Let me let you in on a little secret. They aren’t that effective. Well, they are, but they aren’t, and I’ll tell you why. Have you ever done a spell or a manifestation for money, but your car may have broken down, and your insurance gave you a large sum of money to fix it? You still have your money, but at what cost? Or perhaps you came into a large sum of inheritance out of nowhere due to a family member passing. This is more of an extreme example, of course.

This all ties into mundane and magical. If you don’t have a mundane path for that financial sorcery to fall upon, how else are the spirits/universe going to give you what you desire? They are going to find a way, just might not be in the way you want.

At the end of the day we live in a capitalist society, everyone is one paycheck away from becoming homeless these days. In order for financial magic to work we need multiple lines of income. Either that be a job, investments, a business, etc. That’s just the reality of things. You may receive that occasional sum of money from the government for an unclaimed amount but how often does that actually happen? The answer is not often.

Money and Mindset

I’m order for us to become successful with money we need to change our mindset about money. A lot of us have trauma stemming from generations having to due with finances. Some might call these energetic blockages that stop us from reaching our full potential. Which in a way that is true. It stops us from deciding and reaching our goals.

Through changing our relationship with money and our mindset. We start to notice a shift in our life. Maybe we find our passion that leads us to what we want to do as a career that’s more prosperous. Maybe we go into a business and we have great sales. We look into proper investing techniques and make a big decision and it happens to pay off.

Look at your ancestors relationship with money, your parents, and yourself. This is where you need to dig deep and look at it. Once you change your relationship with money, it flourishes in other aspects of your life. Healing that wound with finances is what’s really going to help you.

Being abundant is not about getting a check here and there. It's about enchanting your life.

Money Magic and Disabilities

In a world where we need to constantly learn, adapt and change we need to look at ways for us to make money in order for us to be financially abundant. However we run into situations like being disabled and not being able to work a career, relying on the government. Not everyone will be so lucky to even be able perform successful constant money workings.

Pushing this financial magic can be harmful, especially to those who are disabled and can’t work. So what can we do in the meantime? Here is my post on what we CAN do in the meantime.

For those who are able-bodied, the reality is that in this day and age, you will have to monetize your craft and seek higher education if you are to be financially abundant. Here is a link to a post on different avenues to do just that to build upon skills.

Also, bad grades? No problem. Check out your local community colleges; they sometimes offer free course upgrades.

The Mundane Before Magic

The spirits cannot grant you wealth without a direct avenue for it to deliver itself.

For example, you want a job but are not searching for one. If we look at probability here, there is a very low chance you'll be getting that job without actively looking. Magic can only give you so much before you have to start putting work into it.

Now, if we consider you wanting to get a raise at your job, you've put in the mundane work, lined up all of your avenues, and finally done the magical to set it all up. Your chances of getting that raise are much higher.

Now, the more avenues of income you have, a business, a job and investments, AND you did prosperity workings on top of that. That's where you'll get the real results. However, let's be honest, who has the time for all of that? It is true, though, that the more avenues of income you have, the easier time prosperity magic will come to you.

How to use Money Magic

Now let’s go into how to really work with financial magic. I talked a bit about this in this post.

Prosperity altars are so important, in my opinion, if you want to start building wealth in a magical sense. What not a better way to build wealth than by working with the spirit of money itself?

Here are some basic item suggestions to get started. You're going to want to keep within the gold and green colour scheme, which symbolise wealth and prosperity.

In Jason Miller's Book Financial Sorcery, a ritual called Moving Your Setpoint helps you transform your past mindsets into your desired mindset. I have not personally tried this ritual, but I've heard success from those who have.

Alternatively, you could try a dedication/values ritual where you dedicate yourself to the best version of yourself or even a phoenix ritual of transformation.

Spell Walkthrough: Protections and Abundance Magic for an Art Show

I wanted to walk y'all through the practical magic steps that I took before, during, and after the art show that I participated in this Fall. But before I begin, I have a few notes: I am not looking for any critiques here - if you disagree with my methodology, please just keep it to yourself. This magic was highly successful and did exactly as I intended it to. Secondly, all of this magic is done. My spells are complete. The artwork has been made and hung, bought and sold, and the show has been taken down in its entirety. No more money will change hands. That is why I am choosing to share this - do not share your work until it is complete.

This summer, I was invited to take part in a group art show with eleven other artists. It was a great opportunity - both to show my art and to do some practical magic to protect, support, and enhance our art.

I chose to do these workings for a number of reasons. For one thing, art shows successes depend on people showing up and viewing the art, so I knew that I wanted to do work that would promote and draw in people to our show - both people with an eye for enjoying art and people who like to buy art. Additionally, I have had some problems in the past with a witch that I know IRL doing workings specifically against my art business (I assume out of jealousy?) and I knew that I need to protect the show from her gaze and general influence.

I've broken the steps that I took into six parts, each part was a working in and of itself even if it involved other parts of the whole.

A note on materials: For privacy reasons, I'm not going to share every item that I used in the making of these spells. What I will tell you is that other than the alfalfa which somebody happened to gift me with recently, every other herb could have come out of my kitchen cabinet or my tiny garden. I used a half-pint ball jar as a base and the candles that I had on hand. My point here is in showing you that you can do everyday magic with things that you probably already have in your house.

The Sweetening Jar

The goal of my sweetening jar was both to sweeten the artists to each other (to smooth over situations that might arise in planning the show, etc.) and to sweeten our potential audience to us. For taglocks, I used the first and last names of all artists involved as they had said that they wanted them printed on our art fliers, the full name of the show, and the hashtag (#) that we chose to promote the show with. This was a jar spell that needed to work fast, so I used a spiced rum that I enjoy as a base - I added in sugar for more quick luck and honey because it would help to draw and entice people to our show. I also added a few prosperity herbs (cinnamon, basil, alfalfa) that I would continue to use throughout my rituals ahead, some base protection, something extra special to help return any negativity back at its sender, and catnip. I also included a strong sigil that I use to protect against the evil eye.

2. The Protections

My first goal after building the jar was to reinforce the protection component that I had just cast upon it. For this purpose, I burned a black protection candle carved with a particular sigil over the jar while focusing and chanting protective chants. As you can tell by the photo, this wasn't a protection that needed to last for a long time (really about a month and a half from when this was cast), so I didn't go all out - a chime candle was fine for the purposes of this spell.

3. Abundance

Now that I had protected the jar, I wanted to reinforce the abundance elements that I had also included so I burned a money candle over the jar. I included the initial money-boosting herbs mentioned early and a sigil that I use specifically in my prosperity workings.

4. Image Protection

My second goal was to protect the images of my art that were going to be hanging in the show. I printed a copy of each piece of art and marked it with two protective sigils that I use with great frequency. I let them charge under the sweetening jar during step 3 and then sealed them into a black envelope that I adhered to the inside of my junk journal. I used sigils and other symbols of power as well as some clever journaling techniques to further obscure the envelope from view. While doing this I focused specifically on hiding these images from the views of people who did not wish me well, were jealous of me, or would otherwise do something to sabotage the show.

5. The Trap

A day after I sealed the images that I thought I was going to use in the show, I changed my mind so I now had an image that I would want to share on social media that I did not want to be used against me by somebody who wished ill for me about this show. I decided to use that piece as a trap - weaving a defensive spell to get somebody who felt intense jealousy over my successes wrapped up in their own shit so that they could not use it against me. I cannot explain how I did this any further.

6. Success

Lastly, a few nights before the opening of the show, I built what I would call a Success/Money bowl for our show. I used the same types of ingredients that went into the sweetening jar but also included things meant to grab the eye (gold glass glitter) and orange and sunflower for happiness and success. By now I had the fliers for the show so I used that as the main taglock for the spell. I charged the bowl with a yellow beeswax candle and kept the sweetening jar in the bowl for the entire duration of the show, working it daily.

Final Thoughts: This sequence of spells worked really well. I think that it worked well to tie them all to one object (the sweetening jar that I made as the first step in these workings). Our show was widely received, well attended, and every artist at the show made their money back or more. Additionally, despite the twelve of us having to work closely to make this happen; there was very little drama or stress.

I honestly wish that I had done more, not less. My intention when I started working these items at the end of August was to work on them weekly, if not daily, but I was waylaid pretty significantly by the worst bout of depression that I've had in years and I had to spend a lot of my time managing that instead of doing magic.

It all worked out, though.

Another example of Ensouled Pottery created by my husband—this time as part of a Prosperity Spell.

He shaped the bowl from clay and imbued it with his will, then marked it with a Sigillic Wheel of abundance and fired it in our kiln. After that, the pot was anointed and consecrated under the generative auspices of Burgeoning Day (the Cardinal Sabbath of our tradition that aligns with the Spring Equinox).

The working this piece will be utilized in calls for a length of local Willow to be rooted within the clay pot—allowing for its roots to eventually emerge through the holes in the vessel, before the entire thing is buried in the Earth. As the tree grows and flourishes, the pot shall crack and crumble, releasing all of the magic built up within throughout the process.

Disability-Friendly Prosperity Magic

So let's face it, those who are disabled have a hard time with money in general, either from being unable to work or not having a steady, strong source of income. Sometimes we can monetize our hobbies, admittedly at a limited capacity (some less or more than others).

From our relationship with money, money mindsets, and income streams, it's hard. That's not to shame anyone, either. Some overspend to cope, while others are incredibly frugal.

In this post, I will review some resources, tips, and tricks for the struggling disabled witch.

The Mundane Before Magical

Step one is to make a budget and track your expenses. I'm serious. Sit down, look at where your money is going, and decide on a budget that you can realistically stick to. I use the 50/30/20 rule as a budget, which is 50% Needs, 30% Wants, and 20% Savings. However, I recently switched wants and savings around so I can save for a trip.

Now I do not want you to worry about a big fancy budget method. I don't want you to overthink it. Here is a resource (Canada, but it can be used in the USA) to start one. Focus on your needs like housing, utilities, basic clothing, food, etc. Then go into wants and entertainment, and finally, savings. I suggest you put any debt payoff into the needs category if you have any debt. You do not want a blow to your credit report.

Now do you have any financial goals? Going back to school? Debt payoff? A trip? Even a big medical trip coming up? Here is a resource (Canada, but it can be used in the USA) that can help you create a goal and a plan to pay this off.

Savings, please, your SAVINGS. It is vital to have an emergency fund. Job loss? Death? Vet bills? Children? Dentist? You better believe that piles up. It is recommended if you are single to have at least 3 months of income saved up, with a child and single at least 6 months. Married on two incomes, the same amount. Married with one income, it is recommended without children at least 6 months saved up and with children 9 months. It is vital you have the means to take care of yourself if an emergency strikes. It is never recommended that money be stopped from being put into these accounts.

If you are in debt, look at your debt relief options. Sometimes there are services out there that can advocate for you regarding debt. They will help you develop a plan, understand the relief options, sign documents with you, and develop a credit rebuilding program. These services are out there; even if they are paid, they can help you pay off some of your debt, especially credit card debt.

Educate yourself on investing, basic investing, and financial literacy, in stock markets and everything beyond. Know what kind of accounts you can hold and what could help you in your situation.

The Magical

Upkeep a prosperity altar. Work with the spirit of money like you would any other spirit. Honour it, talk to it, venerate it. Money loves to be valued, moved, not wasted, and used in charity. Most importantly, money takes time. Money takes time to grow and build a relationship with.

This is the most important thing I've learned about money. It wants to be worked with. It's sitting there. It wants to help and aid you in ways that you need.

Work with this altar on Thursdays, incorporating the spirit of Jupiter. Jupiter rules over finances. Long steady finances, not quick finances. Jupiter rules over business, legal and all things finances. Jupiter is a slower-moving planet.

You can also incorporate the spirit of Mercury on Wednesdays along with your Jupiter workings. Mercury is a fast-moving planet, a planet for fast-moving money. However, you must build a long, steady form of finances over quick, easy cash (but sometimes you do need it right now).

You can create a money bowl and work with it on this altar, a Jupiter cashbox (I will make a future post on this), or a manifestation mirror box filled with petitions, sigils and your investment/banking information.

Fill your altar with greens and gold, imagery for wealth and abundance, pocket change, and anything else that symbolizes wealth.

Do not forget to leave offerings for your money altar. A simple glass of water can do but try to do more if you can.

Road opener workings or petition with an offering for the cross-road spirits who can unblock blockages in your way.

Final Take Away

I know this might not help everyone, but I sincerely hope this helps somebody. Financial literacy was not taught to everyone, nor were proper budgeting tips. I wanted to share what I've learned over the years as I believe it is vital information for some of the information I have collected.

🍀Success & Prosperity Spell 🍀

Since it's the 🌻Summer Solstice🌻, I preformed a Success and Prosperity Spell for both my boyfriend and myself. I mainly held more intention for him than myself since I want him to succeed in his upcoming career.

I used several different herbs; peppermint, kelp, alfalfa, allspice, cinnamon, oregano, strawberry leaf, oregano, and many others. I also used my Luck and Prosperity Oils that I've made to anoint the horse shoe, our name papers, and in the spell directly.

So why did I use the horseshoe? Horseshoes are *generally* considered lucky. Having the shoe with the opening facing *up* to collect good luck and good fortune. So I chose to place my cauldron inside the horseshoe with the horseshoe facing "up" to aid in "collecting" and "attracting" good luck and good fortune. Horse shoes also have other uses too. And I can make a post about that by itself.

At the end I did light bay leafs on fire, two with our names and goals on them. Then one to burn away all blockages that may be holding us back. My boyfriend's bay leaf burned all the way while mine didn't fully burn away completely. So I take that this is a good sign for him. I also wrote out our specific intentions on paper and placed them in the cauldron, and used the bay leafs with our names to carry our goals by fire. The flame reached roughly 6 to 7 inches out of the cauldron. So if you choose to work with fire, please take the proper precautions when doing so (aka have your lid ready in case the fire gets out of hand, thankfully mine went back down rather quickly).

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful Summer Solstice! Today was the first "cool" day in the past two weeks. 90F instead of 108F out.
