Lookism Shopping headcanons

Thinking about the spectrum of shopping hc - my quad of Johan (hates), Gun (tolerates), Jake (likes), Goo (loves)

Johan

Warning: shop with this guy at your own risk.

Absolutely does not enjoy it in any way shape or form. You wouldn't find him shopping on his own and god knows why he wanted to come with you, guess his clinginess won out.

Sulks the whole time, acting like a kid forced to follow their parent for the day.

At least with children you can placate them with toys or ice cream. Even your presence or attempts at bribery doesn't get him out of this funk. He has no interest and zero money.

Doesn't just steal people's shoes and coats, everything is up for grabs after a fight. What's the point in shopping and using money when it's all just there for free?

Very light-fingered even if it doesn't involve a brawl. Turns out he wasn't completely brooding the whole way round, he did notice your interest in that little something or other. Just don't ask how he acquired it.

Gun

If time is money, then he prefers not to waste both.

Gun knows the importance and power of a well fitting suit and dressing for status but shopping isn't a process he particularly enjoys. Especially not when there's fights to be had and successors to be found.

Executive assistants at HNH and premium personal shoppers take care of shopping and tailoring for him.

It's not a bad job, he has a pretty distinctive style and he's got a great body so he wears most clothing well. But if something isn't to his taste, expect either a pile of discarded clothing on your desk or for it to be just binned. Brand new, with tags - yes even that limited designer shirt.

Grooming and hygiene products are the only things he dedicates more than a passing thought to. High-end clothing is one thing, it's all the same after a while, but this is too personal to leave to others. Once he finds what he likes, very rarely changes it.

Doesn't mind shopping with you, eventhough there are other things he would prefer to be doing. Don't push it though - you're really stretching his patience if you insist on trying on everything.

Jake

Eh, money. It's not that he doesn't have it, he just... doesn't have a lot of it. And any that he does have spare, he prefers to keep in a rainy day fund for Big Deal. (Too bad it has been pouring for nearly the past year.)

If he's with you though, then it becomes infinitely more enjoyable. Another chance to spend time with you rather than the activity itself.

Doesn't allow himself to indulge in gratuitious purchases. If he needs something, he would find it on clearance. Otherwise, he can just do without.

Guilty that he can't treat or spoil you the way you deserve. He still tries to get you small things here and there but Big Deal finances takes priority.

Makes mental list of things that he would like to buy one day. Oh that shirt would suit Brad. Jerry would like that backpack. Jason could do with a new pair of shoes.

Only luxury is giving himself a small allowance to keep himself groomed. Cologne, hair products, skincare. Big Deal No.1 does have appearances to keep up, y'know.

Goo

What's the point of making all this money if you can't spend it? You can't take it with you, right?

Loves to look good and feel good. And what better way is there to remind Goo of his success than with some retail therapy. Having store assistants wait on him hand and foot gives him a kick too.

Treats clothing as an extension of his status, and also his personality. So what if that shirt is loud and garish? He's loud and garish too, and it also enhances his already buff shoulders? He'll take it!

Cologne for every occasion and mood, and then some. Need to flex on his inferiors? Sniff sniff. Yep this one. Going to be stuck in the car all day with Gun? Oh this one will definitely give him a headache!

Shopping trips with Goo are almost always fun and he's generous to boot. Asks for your opinion but if he likes something, then it doesn't really matter what you think.

Fun ways to help stay focused while studying

Aromatherapy/diffusers/candles. You can get diffusers with timers you can set and use different scents to help with focus and concentration!

Apps! There's sooooo many super cute study apps that reward you for study time! There's also apps that reward you for being productive in general!

Nap breaks! Nothing is better than a nice little nap after a hard study session and this motivation is what helps my cousin study for a couple hours uninterrupted.

Play background noise on an app that you can't minimize or the music stops, like YouTube without premium. This forces you to not use your phone.

Make small, achievable goals with little rewards!

Set a timer on your phone and put it in another room. When the timer goes off, reward yourself with a fun activity.

Teach the material to a pet, stuffed animal, or younger sibling or a plant!

Turn it into a game. Instead of using flashcards the boring way, turn it into a matching game. Play hangman to teach yourself how to spell complex words or make an crossword for foreign language practice!

Make it a self care act. Self care always feels nice. Treat studying how you do any other self care activity. Maybe even do a hair and face mask while you study and listen to zen music.

Give yourself new goals to keep it exciting. Study times and information retention should be your focus and rewards can be anything you like!

How I transformed my dad's life.

My dad swapped bodies with me like it was punishment or something. He said he wanted to be young again and free from all the burdens of being an adult. Burdens? Are you freaking kidding me? This is awesome!

My dad went off to school in my body the next day like he'd won the freaking lottery. As soon as he was out the door, I called out sick from his job, took out his credit card, got online, and started buying everything I imagined I'd need for this new life I'd been supposedly burdened with.

My dad’s life was pathetic. He had a crappy job at an accounting firm, and he spent his life doing the bare minimum. He didn’t care about how he dressed or how he took care of himself. He had never done anything exciting in his life. Now, it was time for all of that to change.

I bought myself a whole new wardrobe, which required me to measure every inch of my new body so that I could finally order things in the proper size. There would be no more saggy "dad" clothes for this dad. I ordered a shit-ton of premium workout supplements and protein powder. I joined the best gym in our neighborhood and hired their top personal trainer to help me get this body in shape. I also ordered better skin products, better hair products, better everything. It was time for this dad to upgrade his life! OK, the truth is, I also ordered a few extra things I'd always wanted, and I'm not just talking video games. I'd always wanted to see what it felt like to wear a jock strap and a leather harness like I'd seen guys wearing online. This was my chance to play dress-up and find out exactly how it felt. It was like a mini vacation that nobody knew I was on.

And let me tell you, I was in heaven.

Two years after the swap, I've completely transformed my dad's life. I left his lame job the second I could, and instead spent every hour I could at the gym. My dad had enough money in his savings account that he could have always done this for himself, he just never saw it.

I took care of the house the way he never did. I made it my own, steadily discarding the things that had once been his. I replaced the basic furniture he'd bought with pieces that better suited my new tastes. I swept out all the beer and junk food from the fridge and cabinets and swapped in fruits, veggies, and protein shakes.

Eventually, I got rid of everything in his old life that had been holding him down. Actually, it's my life now. And this is my body.

I've started a new job as a personal trainer at the very gym I started training at the day after the swap. I'm bigger, stronger, and better than I ever could have been before. I'm healthier and happier, too.

And whatever happened to my dad? He dropped out of school and vanished that day, and no one ever saw him again.

Too people who want to get "prettier" and have a "glow up" Do NOT expect it to go over night.

Plenty of people believed that you just become pretty with no effort like you see on TV. It's never that easy. It takes steps, processes and Discipline. Always start with the basics like :

Hygeine

Make a skincare routine for your skin

Know your skin type and build you skincare routine from there

body care for the entire body

Scrubs , lotions and body butters are a must

Exfoliate 1-2 times a week

haircare (hair is everything even if u have a hijab hair care is still possible)

Oil train your hair and know you hair porosity to know what products to use

Use a non sulphate or silicon shampoo

Conditioner and a hair oil of your choice based on your hair problem

Hair mask 1 times a week

Know ur hair pattern to be able to use the right products and not damage your hair pattern

Do not straighten your hair everyday!!!

Use Silk pillows and silk scrunchies instead of elastics!!!

Getting a closet and hair cut for you

Find your best colors and body type

Therefore you would know which colors make you shine the most as well as

Find your seasonal color and which fraction ur in (like winter bright , summer light and etc)

Find which type of hair cuts and bangs suit your facial featured and face shape most

Try to explore more options without much costs before fully committing to something that isn't for long-term

Exercise ( unless you already do)

Exercise requires discipline for you to be able to do it continuously for progress

If you can't afford a premium membership take a walk/jog/run around the block,street,park

If you feel unsafe you can do a YouTube work outs as they are effective depending on your goal

I recommend channels like :Madfit ,Hinafit, Shirley kim, April Han, ema wong, and Chloe ting

Take time for yourself (not all the time)

If you dont have time for yourself your body and brain will get stressed (from experience)

It can be as simple as drinking your daily detox water, green juice, coffee, tea or reading a book

Get 8 hours of sleep

Make sure not to stress for something so complete a task when given no matter how far the deadline is!!!

Reduce screen time to 3 hours a day (outside of school/work related stuff)

Diet

Never go too extreme like you see those people online do

Unless you are talking to professionals such as dieticians, Nutritionists and etc. (Bc most public figures do have professionals that they seek help too for these types of situations)

stick to a healthy diet like the 80/20 method

Or you can also do keto/greek/high carb or protein just never go extreme as it will slow down your metabolism

Find who you really are and trying to be better

People never really open up to try different things you should try more to find what you like most or which you are most stable with

See the perspectives on how you act im different situations and see what your mistakes are to try to avoid doing them again

Fix your mentality (watch wizard Liz, Song Jia,) and read quotes to inspire you to do better and the most you can

Always Analyze the situation before commenting or doing action unless its an emergency

Do not let people decide for you or get to your head it is their opinion not yours. You opinion is never invalid and justified in your perspective

Confident vs Arrogant vs Egoistic

Confident people never brag nor do they drag people down. They know they are THAT person and will NOT care about your opinion of them.

Arrogant people like to Brag about something that they have and thinks their all That. They bring down people for not having the luxury they have. But when someone has more and better than them they always try to avoid them, argue with them or get annoyed by them as They want to show supremacy

Egoistic people tend to make fun of people. Self-centered people that only think about themselves without knowing or thinking that they hurt others. Their too preoccupied with themselves to think of others helps or needs

(Just a reminder but literally EVERYTHING in your life is something you have manifested)

- Manifested my family member ordering food from a place I really like (without me mentioning it and we don’t order food a lot in this house)

- Making new friends

- Moving houses

- Manifested the perfect outfit for a special event I was going to

- Clothes I ordered online were supposed to be delivered while I was gone for a weekend in another state but I manifested they came early (They arrived 2-3 days early)

- Desired Boyfriend

- Family member buying me all the products I wanted (makeup, clothes, hair and skin care)

- LMFAO my one sim was ONLY having boys and I manifested her having a girl for a legacy challenge

- Manifested a new AI app for reality shifting

- Physical disability healed itself naturally

- Family member getting paid a lot for the job of their choice

🎪American Society for the Wellbeing of Clowns (ASWC): Harmful Rhetoric and Mistreatment of Clowns

While I would normally stay quiet on this issue, due to recent events, and the fact that this organization has become the fourth largest clown organization in America, I feel the need to comment and inform clown lovers and owners of the ASWC's dangerous rhetoric, as well as harmful actions they've taken in past years.

ASWC's Perpetuation of "Clean" Pedigrees

This point is the most popular criticism of the ASWC, but I thought I'd go ahead and explain it in this post.

One of the most prominent values of the ASWC has been "protecting the sanctity of purebreds." This claim is fueled by the false belief that crossbreeding results in more birth defects and genetic mutations, which simply isn't the case. A study conducted at the Center of Clownology by Dr. Faxenmacher reported that purebred clowns and mixed-breed clowns have the same rate of mutations/defects, thus disproving this uneducated claim.

The current head of the ASWC, Charles Kasperle, had made a concerning tweet on his personal account 3 years ago calling for the euthanization of mixed-breed clown breeds, stating that their "quality of life" is poorer than purebreds. This level of extremism might not actually be something the ASWC stands for, but this careless eugenic rhetoric by the very head of the organization should be addressed.

The Mishandling of Larger Breeds

The first physical ASWC center was established in 2015 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. In the years following, their centers have grown in number, spread out across the continent. These centers are dedicated to the rehabilitation of injured/sickly strays and act as a shelter for said clowns.

As well-meaning as these centers appear to be, they, unfortunately, don't provide adequate care and sustenance for their clowns. In an interview with former volunteer Lindsay Possenreiser on the "Clown of the Town" podcast, she explains that any clown that wasn't of the teacup variety didn't have nearly enough enrichment or space, and were kept in the same kind of cages as teacup breeds. As we know, most large varieties of clowns need at least 30ft of space to themselves, as a vast majority tend to be territorial. This can usually be achieved by a small to medium-sized circus tent.

Possenreiser also commented on the lack of time they spent outside of their confinements. She stated that the only times they were out of their quarters were for an hour of outdoor time, or for check-ups. Mistreatment of clowns by an organization meant for clown wellness can lead to mass amounts of misinformation spreading amongst the clown care community like wildfire. Always do your own research, and consult professionals if necessary.

Endorsement of Unethical Clown Milk Companies

As of 2020, the ASWC has opened its doors to companies that sell clown products, such as milk or clown hair, giving an "ASWC Approved" seal to companies they deem "ethical." While I don't believe that it should be sold for human consumption, I do appreciate that certain companies go the extra mile to ensure the comfort and quality of life of their dairy clowns.

The ASWC has given the majority of its seals to companies that care for their clowns correctly, but a lot of these seals have gone to a few brands that don't prioritize their dairy clowns. There are quite a few out there, but I will be focusing on the largest seal-holder, Shamhonk Farms.

I won't get into the mistreatment of dairy clowns in this post (check out @bowling-with-skulls PSA on clown milk for more extensive information), but a recent documentary by Keira Spassmacher of one of Shamhonk's farms shows the caged conditions their clowns are forced to live in. I will spare the gruesome details, but it's dirty, small, and horrifying.

If you take a look at the top 5 beneficiaries of the ASWC in the past 3 years, you would probably notice Gooftacular, the parent company of Shamhonk Farms, being their #3 top beneficiary. A few other unethical companies with this seal, such as Iridium Inc. and Juggler's Premium, are also large donators to ASWC. This cannot be directly proven, but it can be implied that a few of these companies bought their seal.

*This is a reminder that just because a product has a "seal of approval" on it, doesn't mean that the seal is FDA-approved or an official term used by the FDA.

If you are looking for clown organizations/charities to volunteer for/donate to, please consider these alternatives:

The Goober Foundation: Inspired by the founder's late clown companion, Goober, who unfortunately passed from early-onset Madcap, this organization is dedicated to the care of clowns with severe to fatal afflictions, donating its earnings to families in need.

Chucklet Care Association (CCA): This association is grounded in care for sickly/stray chucklets to ensure they grow up to be healthy, full-grown clowns. This organization offers artificial Clown Milk, physical therapy, and even on-site care for chucklets that fall into their care. Please consider giving the CCA extra love, as their sponsors have been declining in the last year. It's getting harder for them to keep their doors open.

Ethical Clowns United (ECU): The ECU is dedicated to ending the mistreatment of clowns that have been bred for product, and to stopping the recently proposed legislation to end the ban on clown meat from being passed. If you feel especially for clowns bred for product, I'd suggest donating here.

Always be wary of what you are donating to. Just because it's a big name in its industry, doesn't mean it can't cause mass harm and perpetuate harmful misinformation. Thank you for reading.
