Über das Dabeihaben von Sachen

Er habe jetzt einen Geigerzähler, berichtet Jan auf dem Hinweg zur Veranstaltung. “Ich auch!”, sage ich erfreut. Beim weiteren Abgleich der Geigerzählergeschichten wird allerdings schnell klar, dass Jan seinen nicht zum Spaß hat, wie ich meinen. Er hat ihn gerade erst gekauft. Und jetzt fällt auch mir wieder ein, dass gerade Krieg in unmittelbarer Nähe des Atomkraftwerks Saporischschja geführt wird, und ich schäme mich für meinen unernsten Geigerzählerbesitz. In den ersten Monaten des Ukrainekriegs habe ich ständig alles nachgelesen, aber seit etwa Juni schaue ich weg, und im Juli habe ich meine Twitter-Liste “Ukraine” aus Tweetdeck und der Android-App ausgeblendet.

Jan hat seinen Geigerzähler gar nicht dabei. Ich sage: “Aber man muss ihn immer dabei haben, sonst hat man ihn nicht, wenn man ihn braucht! Ist wie mit Taschenmessern!” – “Ich hab ihn bei meiner Familie gelassen”, sagt Jan, und ich schäme mich schon wieder. Später auf der Veranstaltung möchten mehrere Leute meinen Geigerzähler sehen und ich schalte ihn für sie ein, “aber unauffällig, macht kein Theater bitte”, denn ich möchte gar keine Diskussionen oder auch nur Gedanken auslösen, die mit Krieg zu tun haben, und es soll auch niemand denken, ich sei Prepperin. Ich habe nur gern alles dabei. Das ist was ganz anderes. Der Geigerzähler zeigt nichts an, also 0,15 Mikrosievert pro Stunde, so wie überall.

Auf derselben Veranstaltung, die mehrere Tage dauert und auf der es keinen Strom gibt, fragt Jan, ob ich irgendwas habe, woran er sein Handy aufladen kann. “Selbstverständlich!”, sage ich beglückt, und hole zwei Powerbanks und einen Beutel voller Kabel hervor. Eventuell sage ich auch noch andere Dinge darüber, wie es sein kann, dass man das nicht alles dabei hat, vor allem wenn man zu einer Veranstaltung ohne Strom fährt. Wir kramen in meiner Kabelsammlung. Jan hat ein Induktions-Ladepad, dessen Kabel am einen Ende fest mit dem Pad verbunden ist und am anderen Ende USB-C hat. Meine Powerbanks haben aber nur USB-A-Ausgänge.

Auf dem Weg zum Bahnhof, wo ich Jan abgeholt habe, habe ich am Vortag im Auto ein Lied gesungen, das ich für das nie umgesetzte Projekt “Das Techniktagebuch singt” angefertigt habe:

Dann würdet ihr mich verstehn.

Ich will sie entknoten, das ist nicht verboten Für Kabel tu ich alles Sie um mich winden, Geräte verbinden Mit Kabeln mach ich alles Schön ist das Berühren von Seilen und Schnüren, doch tausendmal so schöhön Ist es mit Kabeln, mit meinen Kabeln, ihr solltet die Kabel mal sehehehn! Dann würdet ihr mich verstehn.

Aber in meiner Tasche ist kein Adapter von USB-A-Ausgang auf USB-C-Ausgang. “Dann nimm halt direkt das iPhone-Kabel und mach es ohne das Ladepad”, sage ich schnell, und reiche Jan meinen USB-A-auf-alles-Adapter (das blau-weiße Büschel auf dem Bild in diesem Beitrag). “Welches ist denn da der Lightning-Stecker ...” grübelt Jan. Ich helfe ihm nicht, weil ich seine Frage für rhetorisch oder einen Scherz halte. Aber dann stellt sich heraus, dass er wirklich noch nie einen Lightning-Stecker gesehen hat. Er hat sein Handy bisher ausschließlich induktiv aufgeladen.

Das blau-weiße Adapterbüschel lädt sein Handy nicht. Vielleicht trage ich es schon zu lange mit mir herum und es ist kaputt, oder vielleicht hat der Lightning-Stecker noch nie funktioniert.*

Später am Abend wird der Generator für das Equipment der Band eingeschaltet und Jan kann sein Handy dieselbetrieben aufladen.

Update von Jan: “Deine Powerbank konnte das Telefon nicht laden, weil sie nicht genug Ampère liefert. Nicht einmal mein Apple Macbook Air Netzteil kann das iPhone laden. Es ginge vermutlich, wenn man beim Laden das iPhone komplett ausschaltet, ansonsten schlürft es einfach den gesamten Strom für seine Alltagsaktivitäten auf und der Batteriestand bleibt auf demselben Niveau.”

Weitere Ergänzung von Gregor Meyer: “Ich habe auch so ein Büschelkabel und der Lightningstecker geht da nur in einer Richtung. Was besonders schön ist angesichts des hervorgehobenen Kernfeatures bei Einführung von Lightning: Man kann es in beiden Richtungen stecken.”)
