My ideal remake of Pokemon Black/White and Black/White2 would putting the plot of both games together and have the post game have a key role in the final plot. How would this work?
You would play through black/white how you normally would finishing the game at a lower level of around 60s~. Black/White 2 part of the game would pick up after a two year time skip, you staying as the champion of Unova, and hearing roomers of pokemon being stolen and a resurgence of Team Plasma and a trainer, Hugh come to battle you and asks for help taking down the new team plasma. You now go around the new parts of the map introduced in B/W2 hunting down team plasma, taking town Ghetsis like you do in B/W2 and thats where the games main story ends!
I just hope they do the real remake right and remake B/W and B/W2. They are my first and favorite games that I have played and I just hope they don’t do the games dirty in the remake!

💎Legendary/Mythical Pokémon in Brilliant Diamond Caught in Color-Matching Balls💎
[ Hoenn Series ]
Tumblr media
Regirock - Poké Ball
There wasn't really anything that matched Regirock's colors, the Poké Ball was the closest I could really get because while Regirock technically isn't Red, he is partially a warm color close to Red. And the stone Grey may as well be the White of the Poké Ball's lower half.
Tumblr media
Regice - Great Ball
In hindsight, I should have grabbed more Dive Balls and put Regice in one of those, it being all Blue and White, a good substitute combination for this Ice-Type Pokémon. At the time however, I didn't really have the patience to go out and get Dive Balls, so I settled for the closest thing to that, a Great Ball, since it too is mostly Blue and White, though the Red crests don't really pertain at all to Regice.
Tumblr media
Registeel - Timer Ball
I thought Timer was the best choice for Registeel, since the ball has all the main colors, Red, White, and Black.
Tumblr media
Latias - Poké Ball
I could have gone for Great Ball since Latias does have a Blue triangle on her belly to reflect Latios's Red triangle, but the Poké Ball seemed more appropriate for Latias since Latias is primarily Red and White. And besides-
Tumblr media
Latios - Great Ball
I had already given the Great Ball to Latios, a perfect match. Mostly Blue and White, with Red crests to serve as a smaller detail much like Latios's Red triangle.
Tumblr media
Groudon - Poké Ball
I was divided between Poké Ball and Repeat Ball for Groudon, because with Repeat Ball, it had the Black circles to match all the crop circle style fault lines making up Groudon's inner section, and the Yellow rings around those Black circles reflect Groudon's eyes. Ultimately I decided on the standard Poké Ball since Groudon primarily has Red and White, Red for all the armor plating that makes up most of its body, and White for all the claws and spikes that Groudon has lined across it. The Black line across the equator of the ball serves just fine to represent Groudon's fault lines.
Tumblr media
Kyogre - Great Ball
Once again, the Great Ball is a perfect match, the Blue and White base body colors, and you have the Red crests to be like Kyogre's Red lines.
Tumblr media
Rayquaza - Nest Ball
This was a tricky one. Between the best candidates, Nest Ball and Dusk Ball, I went with Nest because Rayquaza's Green body armor and Yellow lines and circles were more prominent than the Black lines in-between the armor.

I had to wait until I could find some sort of confirmation that I would be able to get Growlithe in pkmn scarlet before I bought it. If it was verison-locked I would have gone with Growlithe version but bc it's not I can continue with my Red Games theme.

Okay i went to Amity Square and was messing about. It’s so cute! I’m glad that they at least added in the starters too, because it was bullshit honestly they had pokemon that evolved but not their evolutions. Anyways it’s so cute that if you have more then 1 eligible pokemon then you can also walk with them. And i enjoy making poffins there. But then! When i left! I still had my pachirisu with me?! I love this game so much.

Been thinking about how I'd rank each of the new pokemon introduced in each generation and I'm curious what the consensus is, so I'm running two polls.
Including Megas, Regional Variants, GMaxes, etc in the generation those new forms were introduced in, not the original Pokemon:

So I've been playing the update for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet with the Blueberry Academy and some of the pokemon within the game have been giving me thoughts.
So we know that hisuian specific pokemon are supposed to be extinct. that was a whole thing yet you can find hisuian variants of pokemon within the terrarium of the BB academy. How would they be extinct if you can still find them?
So there's two types of extinct, there's extinct in the way you usually think of it where an animal or plant just no longer exists at all. There's no going back and in the pokemon world the only way to sort of get them back is through fossil restoration.
But there's also another type of extinct that is called "functional extinction." This is where the animals, or in this case pokemon, cannot contribute to the ecosystem due to population decrease or disruption in the gene flow.
My theory is that Hisuian pokemon are functionally extinct. In talking to Perrin she has a hisuian growlith and is looking for an ursaluna, but besides this very old Ursaluna you never actually see hisuian pokemon in the wild wild. The terrarium of BB academy is not the wilderness and they are not found anywhere in the wild in BD and SP either. This suggests that while still around they cannot survive in the wild alone anymore and instead those that remain are all in the care of humans in some shape or form. (I am not counting raid battles, those are more event type things and I do not think they should count)
Likely the clans of hisui are still around in some way, be it combined, split, or otherwise they likely are the ones that care for these hisuian pokemon most because something has changed drastically in the enviroment that makes it hostile to the continued survival of them.
For pokemon like oh, hisuian sneasle and sneasler that was likely the introduction of jotoan sneasle and wevile out competing their solitary counterparts. Same with a vast majority of the hisuan pokemon. They were likely out competed.
Now with pokemon such as wyrdeer and kleavor who have more specific evolutions you can likely find hisuian stantler and syther in the wild present day, but the methods of their evolution have been disturpted. Now Stantler needs to know physheild bash, master it, and use it agile style again and again to evolve. You could argue that with the loss of agile and strong style battle that explains why they can't evolve.
Except you can find fully evolved Wyrdeer in the wild in legends arceus. This suggests there was some other thing that was also disrupted in the enviroment that made it so they couldn't evolve. This could be a lack of specific nutrients, migratory paths disrupted, or any other number of things. While kleavor needs a specific ore. With a finite resource that likely wound up being over mined leaving little to none left.
Long story short it kind of bothered me that hisuian pokemon were considered extinct yet in later games you can still get them. But with what I've seen thus far it actually makes a lot of sense if rather than being extinct extinct they are instead functionally extinct. Thus have the capability to return to the wild down the line with extensive conservation efforts.

How I've collected an Army of Mews. :3
@puzzled-zebra asked me in a chat how I get my Mews, and it made me realize something. While I did make a post awhile back talking about how I easily get my Mew characters in-game, there are a few aspects that I feel need more attention (some of which I've learned since that post). So I figured I'd make a new and improved, deeply in-depth post about it! :3
It is important to know, though, that the Mews (and Jirachis) obtained this way are SHINY LOCKED! You cannot reset for a shiny this way! (I have a post about how I got Akoya here~)
Tumblr media
The Lindens, the Branch crew, and my first gift Mew Pearl. All safe and sound in Scarlet. :3 Every Mew here except Akoya was obtained in Shining Pearl.
What you need: Nintendo Switch/Lite Brilliant Diamond OR Shining Pearl Let's Go: Pikachu OR Let's Go Eevee (For Mew) Sword OR Shield (For Jirachi)
First off, it's best to do do this on a user with HOME access for a few different reasons. First and foremost, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl has a lock that makes it so you can send ONLY ONE Mew per file into HOME! I learned this the hard way, as I made the mistake of stockpiling my Mews in a Shining Pearl file, only to find out that I had go through convoluted hoops to get them all into HOME. XD This issue is ONLY present in BDSP--Sword and Shield, and Scarlet and Violet do not lock you in this way and you can transfer as many Mews as you want to your hearts content. (Currently--please don't change it GameFreak!) (I don't fully understand the mechanics of it all, but Mews obtained in previous games pass through this lock--Akoya and Randy were consistently able to be put in HOME together from the same file. It's only when they're obtained in BD/SP that the lock applies, or so I understand.)
The second reason for HOME access is, you have to beat the first Gym to do this method. I have in the past done it using the starter Piplup and catching Starlys and Shinxes, but if you have access to HOME and powerful Pokemon, then you can borrow some to help you get through. I use the Linden Shiny Squad since their levels are between 65-70. They scarcely listen to me, but when they do, it insta-KO's their opponents. (I recommend having Piplup or a Lv. 10-ish powerful Pokemon on hand, especially for Roark's Onix, as it has Sturdy. I have had them all disobey themselves to death.)
Make sure you put your borrowed 'mons back into HOME before deleting the file, if you want to do so!
How it works is, there's a lady in Floaroma Town that will give you a Mew, at Level 1. (The guy next to her will give you a Jirachi at Level 5 as well.) In order for her to give it to you, you need to have save data of LG;P or E on the same user. It doesn't matter how far in the LG file is; it just needs to be to the point that you can save the game. And you don't need to touch it after you save--One LG save gets you as many Mews as you restart BD/SP for. (For Jirachi it's the same, but instead of LG save data you need Sword or Shield save data.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So you start BD/SP, play up to Floaroma, and boom, Mew! You can save by the lady and reset for a specific nature, and even name it! With the Shiny Squad's help it takes me roughly an hour of play time to get to that point.
Anyway, a little long-winded, but I thought I'd put this out there for peeps who have the means and want to build their own in-game army of adorable pink cats. :3

Lets discuss the linear progression of time
Tumblr media
In order:
November 15, 2019: Pokemon Sword and Shield are released worldwide. Sw/Sh is the first game to introduce "wild areas", sections of the game where you can see mons approaching rather than having random encounters. In this game, bumping into a mon starts a standard pokemon battle
February 27, 2021: Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Brilliant Diamond/Shining Platinum are announced. The central idea behind PLA expands the "wild areas" to cover the whole game map, and that pokemon battles happen in the overworld in real time. (BD/SP is more traditional, but has some "wild areas" as seen in Sw/Sh, but we won't know about those until release)
June 5, 2021: Palworld is announced. The announcement trailer shows gameplay and designs that are in the current release of the game. Battles work similarly to PLA in that they're in the overworld
November 19, 2021: Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Platinum are released worldwide
January 28, 2022: Pokemon Legends: Arceus releases worldwide
February (presumably 27th, couldn't find a solid day), 2022: Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are announced. The starter pokemon are also revealed. Scar/Vio would continue the style of gameplay introduced by PLA
November 18, 2022: Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are released worldwide
January 19, 2024: Palworld opens its early access beta
It's easy to say "Palworld was released after these open world pokemon games", but the open worldness of palworld was first seen in the 2021 palworld trailer, only 3 months (plus change) after nintendo itself first announced it would be making an open world game. It seems unlikely to me that palworld could have started development after the announcement trailer of PLA and get announced that soon after with a decent trailer (tbh the Palworld trailer showed more gameplay than the first PLA trailer did). It is much more likely that the concept for openworldness of palworld predates the full openworldness of any pokemon game

💎Legendary/Mythical Pokémon in Brilliant Diamond Caught in Color-Matching Balls💎
[ Sinnoh Series ]
Tumblr media
Dialga - Quick Ball
Beginning with Dialga as it was the first Legendary Pokémon I caught in the game, obviously. Thinking back on my decision, I probably should have given Dialga a Great Ball instead, it has a Blue base, White lower body to match Dialga's steel armor, and Red crests to match its eyes. However I can't deny how proud I was of catching Dialga on the first turn with that Quick Ball. Reminds me of the time I caught Rayquaza in Alpha Sapphire with full health, first turn, with a Premier Ball funnily enough.
Tumblr media
Azelf - Great Ball
A Great Ball was the best I could do for Azelf. Azelf has a White base with Blue crests, and it has the Red gemstone on its forehead, a staple for the Lake Trio.
Tumblr media
Uxie - Ultra Ball
While Uxie has no Black features, the Ultra Ball still felt like the most appropriate choice since Yellow is Uxie's prominent head color, you still have the White on the lower side of the ball for the base body.
Tumblr media
Mesprit - Timer Ball
Timer Ball works well enough for Mesprit, again, no Black features, but the specific color of Red on the Timer Ball more closely matched Mesprit's Pink head color than the solid Red color of the Poké Ball.
Tumblr media
Regigigas - Ultra Ball
Ultra Ball seemed perfect for Regigigas given that it is mostly Black, White, and Yellow. Not much else to really say other than it's too bad there isn't a ball that doesn't have subtle Green features.
Tumblr media
Giratina - Ultra Ball
Now that I think about it, the Repeat Ball would have looked much nicer on Giratina because it has Red features, not just Black, Grey and Yellow. Even still, Ultra Ball was a fine enough choice for the Pokémon devil.
Tumblr media
Cresselia - Heal Ball
Seriously, how couldn't I have given Heal Ball to Cresselia? Sure the ball was made a generation prior to Cresselia, but I still firmly believe that this ball was made specially for her. Or perhaps it was the other way around, Cresselia being based on the Heal Ball. But logically speaking in terms of in-world possible canon, the Heal Ball had to have been made in honor of Cresselia. It has all her colors!
Tumblr media
Darkrai - Luxury Ball
Crossing over into the Mythical territory, and to pair with Cresselia, Darkrai gets the Luxury Ball, it being mostly Black in its design along with a Red ring at the upper middle, there aren't any Yellow features on Darkrai of course, but it was still deserving of this ball to match its colors, and it's also a symbol of my desire to bond with those that know only loneliness.
Tumblr media
Shaymin - Nest Ball
Despite that I have a headcanon story telling of me giving my Shaymin, Glory, a Friend Ball, (since it matched Shaymin's colors perfectly) due to the fact that I have no access to Friend Balls in the game, and will never have access to Friend Balls by legitimate means, I had to settle for the Nest Ball as a substitute, its Green color and White lower base being the only two things that matched Shaymin.
Tumblr media
Arceus - Ultra Ball
And to cap it all off, the Poké God itself, Arceus, treated to an Ultra Ball! In its base Normal-Type form, it sports a White body with Black features and Yellow features, much like a modern Ultra Ball does. Which leaves me to believe perhaps the design of the Ultra Ball was refined to represent Arceus's likeness. Also you really have to admire this beautiful morning sun view of the world above at the Hall of Origin!

Note
Honestly kinda like how Pokemon's starting to get just a little bit nicer with Mythical Pokemon. Sure some of them still have kinda stupid requirements (like Shaymin only being avaliable in PLA if you have a save file of SW/SH on hand and BD/SP save file for Darkrai), but they seem to be getting a little bit nicer about handing out mythicals, or at least the older ones.
Yeah, hopefully they get around to distributing the rest of the mythicals for easy access. Nothing sucks more than missing a narrow window and never getting a Pokemon because of it.
