No idea why these prehistoric handprints in the caves make me feel Things but they do, whenever I see them. I even remember watching Brother Bear as a kid and being hypnotized by the imagery, lol. Painted river pebbles, will make two macrame pendants with rough stone beads with them
All my fellow pebble enthusiasts shall eat well soon when I'm done.
I'm participating in a map and am about a quarter of the way done with my part (im not avoiding a turnaround or anything haha.. ha....)
So here's a little peek before the finished product comes out sometime soon! :]
These embroidered stones give me great joy. They are also poking me - I have a continuation of this series in mind. Maybe after Christmas. And after I finish working on my current online course. And my submission to the petite textiles exhibition and...
Anyway. I thought these were a good way to wrap up my 2023 top twenty makes. I enjoy working with stones very much: it's a response to the the earth/Earth that I love and depend upon. I enjoy the contrast between the soft and hard, the manmade and the natural, the grid and the curve.
And now back to my regular stream of random new things I'm making.
Hugs to you all. Being on tumblr again has made 2023 so much better for me. You all rock - I love reading all your comments and tags and asks. Thank you!
