SuleMio Week Day 6: Teachers/Professors
(If you’d rather read this on AO3, you can read it here!)
Miorine looked out towards her students. Most of them were silently hunched over, intently filling out their tests with a mixture of bored and confident looks. She wasn't surprised as she knew some of them only took her business course since they weren't interested in anything else. Or, in some rare cases, they thought it was easy.
She turned her hand over to check the time on her watch. An hour had passed since they started their tests.
"Alright everyone, time's up!" Miorine announced when she stood from her desk. Relieved sighs answered her. "Please hand in your papers as you walk out."
One by one, her students funneled forward and handed her their tests. Once the last one shuffled out her door, she let out a sigh. She wasn't a fan of grading so many papers, but it was a necessary evil.
"I think I need a bit of air before I start," Miorine said to herself.
Her heels clicked against the linoleum tiles as she made her way to the window. She opened it and got a good look out towards the track used for hurdles, races, and various other events.
Normally, she wasn't a fan of her classroom being so close to it since a lot of the school's sports teams used it for practice and training.
Yet in the same vein, she loved it. Not because of the yelling and the occasional ball hitting her window, but because she could sometimes catch glimpses of Suletta, the coach for most of them.
In fact, that's where she was now.
Suletta's muscular arms were on full display thanks to the tank top she wore. A track suit jacket had been tied tightly around her waist. She had several hurdles in her grasp, some under one arm and the rest over a shoulder. Miorine watched as she placed them one by one along the track.
"Hey!" Miorine called out to her.
Suletta jumped, nearly dropping the hurdles, then turned towards Miorine. A wide smile stretched across her face once she noticed who called for her. She carefully put down the few she hadn’t set up before she jogged up to her window.
"Miorine!" Suletta beamed. "Done with class already?"
"Mhm. I have to grade some tests in a minute, but I wanted to get some air first." Miorine pressed her hands against the windowsill so she could lean out of the window to get into Suletta's face. A teasing smirk pulled on her lips. "But I lucked out because I got to see you instead."
Suletta's cheeks flushed pink and she cleared her throat.
"I'm glad I got to see you, too."
Miorine shifted her weight so she could support herself with one hand then raised the other to caress Suletta's cheek. She started to lean in and go for a kiss, but Suletta fidgeted.
"Wait a second," Suletta stammered while frantically looking around. "You know we can't while we're on the clock!"
"Oh, come on. No students are around, so who cares? One little kiss won’t hurt anyone."
Suletta bit her lip, threw one more glance over her shoulder, then finally caved. She leaned in and pressed a kiss to Miorine's lips. Miorine hummed and slipped her arms around Suletta's neck to both pull her closer and support herself since she was halfway out the window at that point.
She could taste the salt from Suletta's sweat in the kiss, but she didn't mind it. It only proved how active she was during her job.
Miorine barely broke the kiss with a small gasp.
"See you after practice?" she mumbled against Suletta's lips while cupping her cheeks in her hands.
Miorine couldn't help but let out a mischievous giggle when Suletta's face lit up a bright red. She let go of her face to free her from her grasp. Suletta cleared her throat again. Her blush stayed firmly on her cheeks when she smiled.
“Of course. We always walk home together, don’t we?”
Miorine leaned forward one more time to press a light kiss to the end of Suletta’s nose. Another light laugh bubbled up from her chest.
You’re always so oblivious to when I’m flirting with you, huh, Suletta?
“I know,” she hummed. “I’m looking forward to it, like always.”

SuleMio Request:
After a huge battle, Miorine and the others find an unconscious Suletta. Miorine tries to wake Suletta to seemingly to no avail; as she does this, Miorine starts to break down to tears, apologizing for her negative actions towards her and begging her to wake up. Everyone starts to think that Suletta is dead with Miorine being in denial for a while. As all this happens, Suletta regains consciousness. No one even notices (as they are too busy grieving) until Miorine tearfully confesses her love for Suletta, who telling Miorine that she loves her too, making everyone realize she's alive. Everyone celebrates. Miorine calls Suletta a dummy for making her and everyone worry and makes Suletta promise not to scare her like that again. Suletta agrees and the two kiss.
Thank you so much for your request! I ended up doing a what-if scenario tied to Episode 20.
-----
Rubble surrounded Miorine after she finally managed to get back to the school from her trip to Earth. Her heart pounded loudly in her ears as she ran through the chaos and destruction around her. The only thing she cared about in that moment was finding Suletta.
She heard about the attack on Asticassia where one of the Gundams that ambushed Plant Quetta reappeared and wreaked havoc. The only other piece of information she heard about was Suletta had jumped into a Demi-Trainer to help protect the defenseless students.
That idiot! Miorine thought. A Demi-Trainer isn’t going to stand up to a Gundam!
Miorine suddenly stopped. Her chest heaved as her eyes frantically scanned the wreckage in search of any signs of Suletta. Her breath abruptly caught in her throat.
Poking out of the wreckage in the middle of the training area was a robotic hand reaching out towards the ceiling.
Miorine rushed towards the buried mobile suit. She slid down the side of the ruined buildings and scattered dirt with little regard to her own safety. Frantically pulling out her data pad, she dialed Martin, the head of Earth House, once she hit solid ground.
“I think I may have found Suletta! Bring everyone over to the practice field as quickly as you can! I’m going to need help!”
She shoved the device back into her pocket. Sweat and dust clung uncomfortably to her cheeks when she finally arrived at the scene. Nausea made bile build up in the back of her throat. Without thinking about it, she grabbed rock after rock in a meager attempt to unveil the wreckage beneath.
Come on, come on! Don’t you dare, Suletta!
Martin’s call of her name didn’t even register in her ears. She didn’t even notice when the students of Earth House started to surround her one by one to peel away the debris. All that mattered to her was that Suletta was alive.
Time slowed to a crawl. A never-ending torrent of dirt and stone flew from Miorine’s hands as she dug. She ignored the stinging of the scrapes and bruises that began to form on her fingers. Desperation and adrenaline forced her to press on.
Finally, Miorine hit metal. Her aching arms threw back one more flat piece of large debris. It fell into the rest of the scrap with a deafening thud.
The Demi-Trainer still sparked from the exposed wires at its joints. Scratches all over it exposed the bare metal beneath the tan paint job. A massive dent on the chest plate revealed part of the destroyed cockpit. Shards of metal littered its floor and shone in the light. Miorine could barely make out a foot amongst the wreckage. Panic flooded her chest.
Without a word, she scrambled forward and grabbed the part of the cockpit that had been pulled up from being buckled in. She groaned and strained while she struggled to open the compartment. She clenched her eyes shut, grit her teeth, then mustered up all her remaining strength. No matter how hard she tried, it didn’t budge.
Open, damn it!
Suddenly, a loud, groaning creak filled her ears. The weight of the hatch abruptly started to lighten. She opened her eyes to see Chuchu on her right and Martin on her left, both helping her by pulling on the panel. With one final clang, they managed to force it open.
Miorine’s eyes widened at the sight inside.
“Suletta!” Miorine cried out.
Blood shone dully on Suletta’s forehead and down her cheek. Her eyes were shut, and an almost peaceful expression was on her face. Her gray pilot suit had several tears in it from the shrapnel that littered the cockpit floor. Her limp body had slumped down low in the pilot’s seat.
Tears started to well up in Miorine’s eyes. She hesitantly reached out to cup Suletta’s cheek in her hand. Her skin felt icy against her fingers. Cold, coagulated blood stuck to her palm.
“Suletta, don’t leave me!” She let her tears finally fall. They burned against her skin. “You can’t!”
Chuchu soon knelt down next to Miorine. She rubbed the back of her neck then gently rested a hand onto Miorine’s shoulder. Despite how calm she seemed, her hand shook against Miorine’s shoulder.
“Miorine, I’m sorry,” Chuchu frowned, clearly not used to showing concern over someone not from Earth. “But I think she’s gone-”
“No!” Miorine’s voice cracked. “I refuse to accept that!”
She tightly held onto Suletta’s suit then half curled in on herself. She pressed her forehead into Suletta’s chest.
“I’m so sorry, Suletta. I did something so cruel to you and left you so alone. I just wanted you to be safe,” Miorine sobbed and hiccuped. “You can’t die like this. You have to wake up, please. Please!”
She pressed her face harder into Suletta’s chest.
“Don’t leave me!” Her voice cracked and became weak. “I love you… So, please. Open your eyes…”
“Hey, Miorine, that hurts…”
Miorine’s eyes snapped open wide. She pulled herself back from Suletta’s body to see a wince had contorted her features. A hiss came from between Suletta’s clenched teeth followed by a strained laugh. The ghost of a smile pulled on her lips.
“But I’m glad to hear that. Because I love you, too.”
"Suletta, you idiot!" Miorine let out a relieved laugh. Tears continued to stream down her face, this time from sheer joy. She flung her arms around Suletta's neck to pull her into a tight hug. "Don't scare me like that ever again!"
Suletta let out another hiss and an exhausted, raspy laugh
"I'm sorry. I won't do it ever again."
Miorine pulled back to cup Suletta’s cheeks in her palms.
“Promise me?” Miorine asked, still teary eyed.
“I prom-”
Miorine abruptly cut her off by pulling her into a kiss. She didn’t care about the taste of copper from Suletta’s blood or the bitterness from the dirt smeared across her own face that mixed with it. All Miorine cared about then and there was getting her true feelings across to Suletta.
Miorine knew her feelings reached Suletta when she felt her hands weakly rest against her hips as she leaned into the kiss as best as she could manage.
Newfound tears rolled down Miorine’s cheeks from sheer relief. She pulled back just enough to break the kiss with a soft gasp. She wrapped her arms tightly around Suletta, careful of any injuries she may have had. Miorine wanted to stay as close to her as possible for as long as she could.
Miorine almost lost Suletta once, and she refused to ever let it get that close again.

SuleMio Week Day 5: Sick Fic
(If you’d rather read this on AO3, you can read it here!)
Papers were scattered across the entirety of Miorine’s desk to the point she couldn’t see the wood beneath it. Everything from GUND-Arm’s finance reports to part requisitions called for her attention. A desk lamp lit up her features from the side and clearly displayed the dark circles around her eyes.
A knock at her door didn’t even phase her as she continued writing on the paper directly in front of her.
“Come in,” she called out without lifting her eyes.
“Miorine,” Suletta’s voice came from the doorway. “You’re still awake? It’s late. You should get some sleep soon.”
“I can’t sleep yet. I still have too much to do.” Miorine’s pen kept scratching against the paper as she spoke. “You’re allowed to go to sleep without me.”
“But you need to sleep.” Miorine could hear the pout Suletta had on her face without even seeing it. “Can I at least stay in here for a while?”
Miorine let out a soft sigh before it melted away into a chuckle.
“Fine, but just know I’m going to be focusing on my work.” She stopped writing, put the finished document neatly on a pile to her side, then grabbed another. “You can sleep in my bed if you want to. I don’t mind sharing when I go to bed.”
“Okay!”
That seemed to perk Suletta up a bit when she mentioned that. The sound of rustling blankets as Suletta climbed into bed cut through the silence until it settled down once she got comfortable. A low laugh buzzed in Miorine’s chest while she continued to work.
Her eyelids started to feel heavy as time went on. Lines and lines of words started to blur together into a single mass. The pen in her hand felt heavy and refused to move. Her head involuntarily nodded when she almost fell asleep. She vigorously shook her head to rid herself of her exhaustion with no success.
I’ll just rest my eyes for a couple minutes… Then it’s back to work…
-----
Miorine slowly opened her eyes only to wince against the bright light. Her entire body ached, but especially her head. Not to her surprise once she realized she was still at her desk.
“Oh!”
Suletta’s voice filled her ears seemingly out of nowhere. She tilted her head towards the sound of her voice to catch Suletta sitting on the edge of her bed.
“Good morning, Miorine!” Suletta beamed. “I didn’t have the heart to wake you up, but I also didn’t want to leave you alone.”
Miorine groaned as she began to sit upright in her chair. A blanket she didn’t know she had draped over her shoulders dropped to the floor in a crumpled heap. Once she straightened her posture, her eyes went right back down to her desk. As soon as she picked up her pencil, her vision swam and warped. She shook her head in an attempt to clear her vision.
“Miorine? Are you alright?” Suletta stood up from her bed and hurried to her side. “You don’t look very well…”
“I’m fine,” Miorine croaked. She blinked, surprised at her rough voice, then cleared her throat. “I need to finish this paperwork. I can’t let GUND-Arm fail. I can’t let my lousy father be right.”
Miorine struggled to focus on the words in front of her, and her breath seemed to be slightly shallow. She pinched the bridge of her nose to try and ease the headache that started to form.
“I think I need some coffee,” she said.
Miorine pushed herself back from her desk and stood from her seat. Yet as soon as she did, her legs wobbled and the world began to spin.
“Miorine!” Suletta’s arm shot out and she caught Miorine around her waist before she fully collapsed. Concern flashed across Suletta’s face when she looked down at her. She brought her free hand up and pressed the back of it against Miorine’s forehead. She gasped. “You’re definitely not okay! You’re burning up!”
Before Miorine even had a chance to object, Suletta bent down and scooped her up bridal-style into her arms with zero effort. Miorine felt her cheeks heat up from a deep blush.
I didn’t realize Suletta was this strong… she thought.
Suletta walked up to her bed and gently laid Miorine atop it. She went back over to the desk to retrieve the blanket from earlier. She draped it over Miorine then planted her hands on her hips. An unnaturally focused look shone in Suletta’s eyes.
“Stay right there. I’ll be back in a little bit.” Suletta turned to leave only to twist back around when she reached the door. “If I see you back at that desk when I come back, I’ll drag you back to bed myself!”
With that, Suletta jogged out of sight.
Miorine immediately debated ignoring her warnings and continuing her work, but she never saw Suletta so serious. Because of that, she came to the conclusion that it was best to stay in bed.
As Miorine sat in silence, she took in just how awful she really felt. Her head felt stuffed and throbbed subtly. She felt uncomfortably hot from her fever. The back of her throat felt dry, making her want to cough. Another groan bubbled up from her chest before she closed her eyes against the light on her ceiling.
A few minutes passed until Miorine heard her door open with a quiet creak. She turned her head to see Suletta walk back in with a tray in her hands. She placed it on her desk after pushing the papers off to the side into a slightly messy pile.
Suletta pushed up the sleeves of her white uniform then took a small towel from the tray. She dipped it into one of the two bowls she had gathered, wrung it out, then walked back to Miorine’s side. She knelt down next to her then lightly pressed the cloth against her forehead.
The cool, water soaked cloth helped ease some of the uncomfortable heat of her fever. Suletta nodded to herself then rushed back to the supplies she brought with her. Miorine felt too exhausted to keep her head up to watch her, so all she heard were the sounds of something being poured into a glass and something else rattling.
When Suletta finished, she returned to Miorine and carefully helped her sit up. Once Miorine was comfortable, Suletta pressed a glass of water and some medicine into her hands. Without even being told to, Miorine took the medicine with a big gulp of her drink.
“I have one more thing for you,” Suletta hummed. She grabbed the other bowl from the tray and dragged over the chair from Miorine’s desk so she could sit. “I managed to get some soup from the cafeteria. You should eat something before you get some proper rest.”
Suletta carefully held the bowl in one hand and a spoon in the other. She scooped up some of the savory smelling broth then held it out to Miorine. Embarrassment made her face flush even more red when she took the spoon into her mouth. The slightly oily chicken soup coated her tongue, and the warmth helped soothe her rough throat.
“I can eat it myself, you know,” Miorine mumbled.
“Are you sure about that?” Suletta gave her a slight pout. “I want to take care of you. You already collapsed earlier, so I want to make sure you’re okay.”
Miorine sighed then let out a hoarse laugh.
“You know I can’t say no to you when you look at me like that.”
Suletta’s pout melted away into a grin. She scooped up more soup then offered it to Miorine, which she calmly accepted.
Even though it still felt embarrassing, she appreciated Suletta’s help. As much as she didn’t want to admit it, she was sure she would have struggled a bit to eat.
A comfortable silence surrounded them as Miorine ate her food. Between just having Suletta nearby and a full stomach, she already had started to feel a bit better aside from her fever and aching body.
While Suletta cleaned up once she finished, Miorine sunk back down into her bed.
“Hey, Suletta?” Miorine sniffed and gave her a tired smile. She pulled her blanket up to her chin. “Thanks for looking after me. I love you.”
Suletta only smiled as she sat back down. She leaned in to press a light kiss to Miorine’s cheek.
“I love you, too. I’ll be right here if you need me.”
Miorine replied with a content hum. She curled up facing Suletta, ready for a much needed rest. After all, Suletta was right there. And that was all she needed.

SuleMio Week Day 2: Roadtrip
(If you’d rather read this on AO3, you can read it here!)
Suletta leaned heavily against the outside of the greenhouse. Her turned off data pad sat in her hand as she used it as a makeshift mirror. She looked hard at her reflection and practiced her best puppy dog eyes and pout. They quickly melted away into a small smile.
“Right! Here goes nothing!”
She took in as deep of a breath as she could manage before sliding around towards the doorway. Suletta fumbled and tripped slightly over her own feet when she immediately bumped into Miorine.
“Absolutely not.” Miorine’s voice cut in before she could even see her.
Suletta shook her head to regain her balance. Sure enough, Miorine stood firmly in the doorway to her greenhouse with her arms crossed over her chest.
Suletta blinked.
“But I haven’t even said anything yet!”
“Oh, yes you have,” Miorine said. She leaned in a bit closer towards Suletta. “You’ve been standing out here for almost half an hour wondering how to ask me to go out on a trip through the solar system to see Mercury.”
“O-Oh… I’ve really been that obvious?” Suletta laughed and rubbed the back of her neck.
Miorine sighed.
“Suletta, do you really think I can get away from Asticassia like that?”
“We’ll sneak out then!” Suletta started to plead. “And you’re only forbidden from going to Earth, right? Then we just avoid Earth.”
Suletta saw Miorine falter for just a moment, so she went in for the kill. She fired up her biggest, saddest looking eyes she could manage. She pouted her lips and even made the bottom one tremble just a bit to really send it home.
Miorine’s fingers twitched. She heaved a sigh then ran a hand through her hair.
“Okay, fine. I’ll go.”
Suletta’s pout immediately melted into a large grin when she threw her arms around Miorine to pull her into a hug.
“You won’t regret this! We’ll go out tonight!”
-----
Suletta bounced on her toes as she watched the door to the hangar Aerial was stored in. Her excitement could barely be contained as she waited for Miorine to step through. Soon enough, the large door creaked open. Miorine’s footsteps echoed back at them through the mostly empty hangar.
“Let’s hurry. We only have one night to do this.” Miorine quickly put her helmet on when she passed by Suletta.
Suletta fumbled with her own helmet. She followed Miorine up towards Aerial’s cockpit as she pulled it on. A slight hiss filled her ears from the helmet sealing with her suit. When they reached the top next to Aerial, Miorine turned around.
“After you.” Miorine motioned towards the empty seat inside. “You’re the pilot, after all.”
Suletta nodded then climbed in. She barely had any time to buckle herself in before Miorine dropped herself into her lap.
“Miorine!” Suletta stuttered. She felt her face light on fire with a blush. “You don’t have to sit there!”
“Oh? I don’t?” Miorine’s voice took on a sarcastic lilt. “Then where else am I supposed to be?”
Suletta’s eyes flicked around the cockpit before she realized that there really wasn’t anywhere else for Miorine to sit. Suletta gulped then chuckled awkwardly.
“Yeah, you’re right.” She gripped the controls in front of her, took a deep breath to calm herself down, then smiled. “Ready?”
Miorine nodded.
“Then hold on tight!” Suletta gave her a mischievous grin then pushed forward on Aerial’s controls to launch herself from the hangar.
Miorine’s arms reflexively flung around Suletta’s shoulders. Suletta felt Miorine’s weight press into her chest from the force of their launch. Soon enough, the force eased up once they popped out into the vacuum of space.
Miorine shifted in her lap and her arms tightened around her neck. Suletta looked down to check on her.
“Are you o-”
A loud clunk rang in her ears when Miorine headbutted their helmets together.
“A bit more of a warning would have been appreciated!” Miorine scolded her.
“Sorry…” Suletta timidly replied as she rubbed her helmet.
Miorine pouted then settled back against Suletta’s chest.
“So, are we going?” Miorine asked.
“Oh!”Suletta turned Aerial around then pushed forward again, this time a bit more gently to ease them up to speed. “I think you’ll like seeing Mercury, Miorine!”
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen Mercury…” Miorine mused. She rested her head against Suletta’s shoulder. “Well, in person, that is.”
Suletta hummed in acknowledgement. She carefully guided them through the stars and gave the Earth a very wide berth. Venus could be seen shortly after, and the beginnings of Mercury soon came into view.
The familiar orbital base that Suletta had grown up on was the first thing she saw when they approached. Her hands instinctively tensed around the control sticks before relaxing. Thankfully, it seemed that the miners that worked on the surface were done for the day as no one seemed to be moving around the docking bay.
Suletta avoided getting too close to the base for fear of getting bombarded with questions as to what she was doing there. Instead, she flew below them and towards Mercury’s surface.
“Hold on tight, Miorine,” Suletta warned her that time. “I need to quickly get into a crater.”
She waited to feel Miorine brace herself before racing down to Mercury’s surface. Just like she remembered, the sunlight immediately made several of Aerial’s sensors go off. The loud beeping and flashing lights warned her of the dangerous heat. Thankfully, Suletta was used to it and easily managed to duck down into a nearby crater, immediately silencing the alarms.
Miorine let out a breath Suletta didn’t know she was holding in.
“You had to do this every day?”
“Well, not every day,” Suletta answered. “But I was the best person to be sent out to help people if something went wrong.”
“I see…” Miorine trailed off before looking out towards Mercury’s surface.
Gray rocks and similarly colored dirt surrounded the mostly desolate planet. Suletta knew there were mining facilities dotted along the planet, but she was careful to avoid those as well. It honestly didn’t seem all that impressive to her, but she knew this place all of her life.
Instead, she turned her attention down to Miorine. While she was looking out of the cockpit, her attention seemed to be elsewhere. She stared hard up into the stars.
Despite the distance, and the Earth being basically a blue speck in the distance, she noticed Miorine looking longingly towards it.
Suletta smiled gently then lightly bonked their helmets together.
“Hey, we’ll go someday.” Suletta’s smile widened. “Together.”
“Yeah, you’re right.” Miorine smiled back and hugged Suletta closer. “And I’m sorry. You brought me here to see your home.”
“It’s honestly not that impressive though,” Suletta let out a light laugh. “It’s definitely nothing compared to Earth.”
“Perhaps to you,” Miorine dismissed Suletta with a wave of her hand. She lightly grabbed hold of Suletta’s head and pressed their foreheads against each other as best as she could with their helmets in the way. “But to me, this is the home of the person I love. And because of that, I think it’s just as beautiful.”
Suletta almost burst into tears on the spot. She sniffed to hold them back then fired a bright grin at Miorine.
“Thanks, Miorine.” Suletta wrapped her arms around Miorine’s waist to hold her close. “If I didn’t have to wear this helmet right now, I’d give you the biggest kiss ever.”
Miorine laughed.
“I know.” Miorine leaned in as close as she could manage inside her helmet. “Then you owe me one when we get back.”

SuleMio Week Day 4: Supernatural/Mortal
(If you’d rather read this on AO3, you can read it here!)
Miorine hummed as she moved around the kitchen. Low music played from her phone in her pocket while she worked on dinner for Suletta and herself. She wanted to impress her and show that she could make something with the produce she grew in her garden. In a way, she wanted to prove it to herself too.
When she started to chop the tomatoes, she noticed Suletta hunched over in her seat at the dining table with an intense look on her face as she stared at her phone.
“And this would be the only time I forget to check,” Suletta mumbled to herself.
“Forget to check what?” Miorine asked.
Suletta yelped and nearly dropped her phone at Miorine’s sudden voice. Suletta held the device close to her chest when she turned to look at her.
“Everything okay?” Miorine raised an eyebrow.
“Yep!” Suletta answered a bit too quickly. “Everything is totally fine!”
Suletta let out a nervous laugh until Miorine put down her knife, marched over to the table, then leaned in close to her face. It stopped her cold. Miorine immediately noticed the sweat beading on her forehead.
“You really suck at lying, you know that?” Miorine frowned.
Suletta gulped then heaved a sigh.
“Nothing ever gets past you, huh?” Suletta chuckled. “Okay, okay. I’ll come clean. But I can’t tell you about it yet. Not until it gets dark.”
“Huh?” Miorine crossed her arms. “Why not just tell me now?”
“It’s… Complicated.”
“How complicated?”
“Trust me. It’s very hard to explain.” Suletta scratched the back of her head. “So, tonight?”
Miorine’s frown deepened, but she soon let out a sigh of her own.
“Fine. Tonight.”
-----
Silence filled Miorine’s house. Ever since her dad went off on business, it was just her in the large home. It felt tense to Miorine, but Suletta seemed to pay it no mind. She honestly wasn’t sure what was going on in Suletta’s head at the moment.
Either way, the quiet only made it more awkward and strained. They had just finished dinner, and the light outside had started to grow dim. Suletta seemed distracted as she stared hard out the window.
Miorine’s chair screeched against the floor and cut through the silence. She stood from her seat then approached Suletta with an outstretched hand. Suletta gladly accepted it and pulled herself up.
“Now, are you ready to tell me what’s going on?” Miorine asked.
Suletta looked back out the large windows nearby. She immediately seemed deep in thought. Miorine followed her gaze in case she had been looking at something.
The sky had completely darkened, and the full moon peeked over the trees outside. Nothing really seemed out of the ordinary to Miorine. That was, except for Suletta. She looked back at her and all Suletta did was give her a shaky smile.
"I have something I wanna show you." Suletta's voice shook a bit. She took a deep breath, held it briefly, then exhaled loudly. "Can you promise me that you won't freak out?"
"Okay?" Miorine raised an eyebrow, now more confused than ever. "I promise."
Suletta grinned then took a few steps back from Miorine. She squared away her shoulders with the windows behind her.
Moonlight lit up her features from behind. The full moon shone brightly in the dark sky. Miorine’s eyes flicked up towards it, if only for a moment. Yet while Miorine was distracted, Suletta turned to face the window. She took another deep breath before it suddenly hitched and caught in her throat. She gasped and choked until she curled in on herself.
Miorine took a step forward on reflex, concern making her eyebrows knit together.
"Suletta? Are you-"
"I'm fine!" Suletta interrupted past gritted teeth. "Stay back for a minute, please?"
Suletta looked back over her shoulder with a strained smile. Miorine was instantly able to tell something was off though.
Sweat clung to Suletta's forehead and made her bangs stick to it. Something about her eyes simply didn't seem right, and Miorine swore her teeth looked sharper in her smile.
A cry of pain snapped Miorine out of her thoughts.
Suletta suddenly doubled over. The sounds of popping joints, snapping bones, and clothes tearing flooded the room. Her body shuddered as her form started to change.
Her body started to double in size. Red fur that matched the color of her hair sprouted from her arms and any exposed skin. Large, hand-like paws clawed deep gouges into the floor. A snarling snout slowly began to cover her face. Two pointed canine ears sprouted out of her head. Finally, a tail sprung forth from her lower back.
Miorine could only stand in stunned silence as the horrific sounds ceased and were replaced by exhausted panting coming from what she assumed to be Suletta. A hunched over mass of fur and muscle now stood where Suletta did moments ago.
"Suletta, you're-" Miorine paused, trying to gather her thoughts. "You're-"
"A werewolf?" Suletta cut in. Her voice sounded deeper and not quite natural, but somehow still like her. She chuckled. "Yeah."
Miorine blinked, rubbed her eyes, then blinked again. Sure enough, the werewolf was still there, and it was Suletta. There was no doubt in her mind about that. She ran a hand through her hair while trying to process it.
“I don’t believe this. This is insane.” Miorine slowly dropped to floor. Her legs felt too weak to hold her up anymore.
She tried to apply logic and deny it, but Suletta clearly had turned into a werewolf right in front of her. She pinched her cheek as hard as she could. Miorine winced, but like before, Suletta was still there. A whine interrupted Miorine’s frantic thoughts.
Suletta timidly moved closer. She kept her body low to the floor in an attempt to make herself look smaller. Her ears were pinned against her skull. She sat down in front of Miorine, a large leg on either side of her, then placed her hand-paws in between them palm side up.
“You’re not scared, are you?” Suletta asked.
“What?” Miorine vigorously shook her head. “No! I’m just… In shock. It’s a lot to take in.”
Miorine shifted herself so she sat on her legs. She leaned forward on her knees and started to reach out towards one of Suletta’s hands. Her fingers twitched when she faltered for a moment, then she eased her hand into Suletta’s palm.
Suletta’s hand was now huge. Miorine’s entire hand comfortably sat in her palm. Large claws shone dully in the dim light at the tips of her fingers. Miorine looked up to get a better look at Suletta and finally take it all in without the shock of surprise.
Her fur really was the same color as her hair that Miorine was used to seeing. Familiar blue eyes stared at her past her snout. Suletta’s ears had perked up and were alert.
“Can I touch your ears?” she found herself blurting out. Embarrassment made her face flush pink.
What looked like a smile appeared on Suletta’s face before she silently lowered her head.
Miorine reached out and gently stroked the back of Suletta’s ears with her fingertips. The fur wasn’t extremely soft, like she expected, but not unpleasant either. She gingerly rubbed each ear between her fingers. A content sigh came from Suletta when she did.
“You’re just a big puppy, aren’t you?” Miorine chuckled. She cupped Suletta’s face and reflexively scratched under her chin.
She realized that could have been rude shortly after she did it, but Suletta seemed to pay it no mind. In fact, she thought she noticed Suletta lean into it. Another chuckle escaped Miorine.
She leaned up to press a light kiss against Suletta’s forehead.
Immediately, a rhythmic thumping came from behind Suletta when her tail started to happily wag against the floor.
“So,” Suletta paused. She fidgeted in Miorine’s hands. “You’re really not scared of me?”
“No, I’m not scared of you, Suletta,” Miorine said. “Like I would be scared of a big softy like you.”
“Thank god. I was so worried.” Suletta’s shoulders drooped with a relieved sigh.
“No more secrets with me though!” Miorine scolded. Despite that, a small smile pulled on the corners of her lips.
Suletta leaned down and carefully bumped their foreheads together.
“No more secrets. I promise.”

SuleMio Week Day 3: Bakery
(If you’d rather read this on AO3, you can read it here!)
Fresh baked bread sat in the display case at the front of the modest local bakery. Steam still rose from the surface and into the open air. Various sweets and cakes sat below the bread on a lower shelf. Behind the counter showed a well worn wooden table. Standing behind it was Suletta. In front of her sat a mound of dough for more bread ready to be kneaded.
She reached behind her to tighten the knot for her apron then pushed up her sleeves. She nodded to herself before pressing her hands into the dough. Suletta’s humming filled the otherwise empty store as she worked. It was just before lunch, so she was sure people would come in sooner or later.
As if on cue, the bell attached to the top of the store’s door rang to tell her someone came in.
“Welcome!” Suletta smiled and wiped her forehead with her arm. She unknowingly smeared flour across it. “How can I help you?”
She looked past the counter to see a rather serious woman standing behind it. Her white hair had been pulled up into a tidy bun. She wore a black suit and held a briefcase tightly in one hand. An intense look made her brow furrow when she leaned down to look at the sweets.
Suletta chuckled nervously. Her intimidating aura pressed down on her until she stood up and met her eyes. She reflexively stood a little straighter.
“How can I help?” Suletta repeated.
The woman gave her a small smile then pointed at the case.
“May I get one of those pastries, please?”
Suletta returned her smile. She grabbed the tongs and a paper bag from the nearby cubby. Kneeling down, she picked up the one her customer picked out and placed it into the bag. After receiving her payment, she gave her a small wave as she turned to leave.
“Have a nice day!”
—--
A few weeks went by, and the mystery woman seemed to keep coming back. It was always at eleven-thirty, on the dot, and she always got the same thing: a strawberry pastry. It had quickly become like clockwork for Suletta to the point she had it ready for her every day before she came in.
It had become something Suletta started to look forward to. She was intimidated by her at first, but her customer slowly started to warm up to her and it helped her relax.
They ended up talking more and more often whenever she visited. She found out her regular was a CEO for a big medical company in the city. Apparently they were on a breakthrough for prosthetics.
However, Suletta grabbed her chin in thought while she placed more cakes into the display.
“Even though I’ve talked to her for a while now, I still don’t know her name…” She mumbled to herself.
“It’s Miorine.”
Suletta squeaked and jolted upright. She ended up banging her head against the underside of the counter. Her usual customer that she now knows is called Miorine leaned over said counter to look down at Suletta. She had a fist over her mouth to cover a laugh.
“Are you okay?” Miorine asked.
“Yeah…” Suletta said. She rubbed the top of her head to make sure she didn’t leave a bump. “I’m alright. You just startled me.”
“Sorry about that,” Miorine laughed a bit more openly. It sounded bright and carried itself through the air like music.
Something about the sound made Suletta’s heart thud in her chest. A light blush dusted her cheeks when she cleared her throat.
“Well, I’m glad I got to finally know your name,” Suletta smiled. “I’ve been meaning to ask you since you’ve been a regular for a while now.”
“Again, I’m sorry. I kept meaning to tell you.”
“It’s fine, really.” Suletta waved a hand to dismiss her apology. She suddenly gasped. “Oh, I’m-” “You’re Suletta, I know.”
Another light laugh made her feel dizzy.
“How did you-”
“Your name tag.” Miorine gestured towards her apron.
Suletta looked down and remembered her name tag that she had pinned on her apron. She had completely forgotten.
Yet another laugh. Her face lit on fire with a deeper blush.
“Right, right. I actually forgot.”
“Hm, you’re always so funny, Suletta.” Miorine leaned against the counter.
Something about her smile felt different from usual. Suletta couldn’t put her finger on it, but it made her heart pound harder and her mouth go dry. She sucked in a breath to steady herself with little success. Her hands shook slightly when she grabbed the paper bag with Miorine’s usual order.
She held it out in front of her and bowed her head to try and regain her composure by staring at the floor.
“Your order!”
“Thanks, Suletta,” Miorine chuckled. “Same time tomorrow?”
“Yes!” she shot up straight with her awkward reply.
Miorine’s smile only widened as she gave her a small wave when she left her shop.
Suletta’s chest heaved when she let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding.
Oh my god… She thought. She frantically ran a hand through her hair. I think I’m falling for her?
Suletta clapped her hands against her cheeks to straighten out her thoughts.
If that’s the case, I guess I just… Ask her out? Is that weird? She rustled her hair with her hands. The worst she can say is no, right?
“Okay then!” Suletta hyped herself up and bounced on her toes. “But I’ll do this my own way!”
—--
Suletta leaned back from her latest work to admire it. A cake decorated with white and blue frosting sat on the table. Her apron had streaks of blue across it, and a bit of said frosting had also managed to smear against her cheek. She fidgeted with the piping bag in her hands.
It has to be perfect…
The bell soon rang, causing her to almost drop the icing she still held. Suletta bit her tongue to hide a gasp and quickly circled around to hide the cake she just finished with her body. Her hands went behind her back. She felt sweat start to bead at the back of her neck. She gave Miorine an awkward smile and a nervous chuckle.
Miorine raised an eyebrow at her.
“Afternoon, Suletta?” The confusion was plain as day in her voice.
“Miorine! Good afternoon!” Suletta said a bit too loudly. She carefully put the piping bag onto the table without turning around.
“Everything alright?” Miorine crossed her arms over her chest. “You’re acting a bit stranger than usual today.”
“Everything’s great, actually!” Suletta swallowed then hurriedly turned around. “Let me just finish this up really quick, then I’ll get your pastry!”
She frantically looked for a small box to place the cake into and the nicest matching ribbon she could find among her supplies. She rushed to put the box together, carefully slid the dessert into it, then tied it neatly with a bow.
Suletta stared hard down at it in her hands. She squared away her shoulders then spun on her heel.
“Actually,” she paused. A quick flash of self-doubt struck her, but she squashed it down. “I have something else for you today.”
Miorine’s eyebrows knit together with a mixture of confusion and curiosity. Suletta held the box a bit tighter before gently placing it on the counter between them.
“I’d like you to open it now.”
Miorine grabbed the ribbon and pulled it to undo the bow. She tucked a finger into the side of the box to open the flap. She reached in and agonizingly slowly retrieved the cake Suletta had just put in there.
Obviously, Suletta had seen it already.
Written clearly on its surface in blue, flowing cursive were the words, “Will you go out with me?”
Miorine stood in complete silence, her mouth slightly open. Suletta fidgeted with her hands and picked at her nails.
“Suletta…” Miorine whispered like she was out of breath.
“You can obviously say no!” Suletta hurriedly interrupted. “And if you do, you can still eat the cake! It’s strawberry filled! Like the pastries you like!”
“Suletta.” Miorine’s voice came out a bit more clearly and it immediately made Suletta stop her scared rambling. Miorine reached over to take one of Suletta’s fretting hands. A smile that dazzled her stretched across Miorine’s face. “I’d love to.”
Suletta’s heart throbbed. A grin of her own appeared as she clasped Miorine’s hand in both of hers.
“Really!?”
Miorine nodded.
Suletta couldn’t contain herself anymore when she let go of Miorine’s hand and threw her own up in the air. An ecstatic laugh erupted from her.
“I’m so glad!” Suletta’s eyes welled up with happy tears. “We’ll have the best date ever!”
Miorine’s musical laugh danced against her ears and made her head swim, just like the day before.
“I’m sure it will be if it’s with someone as passionate as you.”
Suletta couldn’t stop grinning. She felt light, excited, and a touch embarrassed. But it paid off in the end. However, she did realize something that she hadn’t thought about yet.
Now, where do we go for our date?

SuleMio Week Day 7: Gardeners
(If you’d rather read this on AO3, you can read it here!)
Suletta stared hard from her porch towards the rather empty backyard. She had just moved into her new home and unpacked everything, but something definitely felt off about her outside space.
It’s too lifeless, she thought. Suletta scratched at her cheek. Maybe I could get some chairs and a table? Oh, maybe some plants for a garden? That would be nice.
She nodded to herself. She pulled her phone out of her pocket to search for local greenhouses. After all, she’d rather support smaller businesses than some giant company. She quickly opened her browser and searched for ‘greenhouses near me.’
After scrolling for a little bit, one finally caught her eye: the Rembran Greenhouse. It was only about a mile away, an easy enough bike ride for her, and the reviews were phenomenal. They mainly mentioned the sheer variety of plants available and that the owner knew what she was talking about.
“Sounds like the perfect place!” Suletta said to herself.
She slipped her phone back into her pocket. A small grunt came from her when she pushed off the railing of the porch. She quickly ducked inside to grab the small backpack she kept by the door so she could easily bring back any plants she bought. Suletta paused for a moment to lock the door behind her. Then, she jumped off her porch, ignoring the few steps that led into her yard. She made her way towards her bike that she had propped against the side of her home.
Picking it up, she threw a leg over it to perch herself onto its seat then pushed off towards the greenhouse.
-----
The summer sun warmed Suletta’s skin. A slight sweat clung to her forehead that she wiped away with the back of her forearm. Several large greenhouses were lined up in a neat row. A small, white truck branded with the greenhouse’s name was parked nearby. The rumble of a lawnmower from somewhere in the distance cut through the air. She carefully leaned her bike against the fence at the entrance.
The gravel pathway crunched beneath her shoes. Peeking into the first greenhouse, she could see rows upon rows of brightly colored flowers. Concentrated pollen tickled her nose then made her let out a loud sneeze. With a sniff, she shook her head.
I don’t think I want to grow flowers, Suletta stuck her hands into her pockets while moving on to the next building. Something practical would be nice, like vegetables.
Suletta stuck her head into the next one to see more of the same. A disappointed sigh fell from her lips as she moved on.
The last seemed promising when she stepped inside. The heat and humidity inside pressed down on her when she started to move through the rows of produce. Anything she could imagine seemed to be in there. Brightly colored peppers were to her right and fragrant herbs to her left. As the choices swam around her head, the sound of what she assumed was a shovel being stabbed into soil finally registered in her ears.
Suletta walked in deeper until she finally found the cause of the sound.
A rather petite woman knelt down in front of a bed of tomatoes. A wide brimmed hat shielded her face from the bright summer sun that shone through the windows of the greenhouse. Silvery hair flowed down her back from beneath it. Her lightly colored sundress had been smeared with soil, though she seemed to pay it no mind. Thick, tan colored gloves that seemed a bit too big covered her hands. One of which held a small rake in its grip. She wore a calm, loving expression on her face as she tended to her plants.
She's so pretty… Suletta thought.
"Uhm, excuse me?" she stuttered. "Are you the person who I should talk to?"
The woman stopped moving to look up at Suletta. She smiled slightly, causing her gray colored eyes to crinkle at the corners.
“Yes, I am.” She stood up, pulled off one of her gloves, then extended a hand towards Suletta. “Miorine Rembran. I’m the owner of this greenhouse. How could I help?”
“Oh!” Suletta accepted the handshake with a smile of her own. Even though Miorine’s hands seemed delicate, she could feel several callouses in her grip. “I’m Suletta. I was interested in growing some vegetables in my backyard.”
“Have you ever grown anything before?”
Suletta shook her head. Miorine clicked her tongue then motioned towards the tomatoes she had been taking care of.
“If that’s the case, tomatoes are actually a decent starting plant. Since we’re at the beginning of the summer, they’ll grow wonderfully.”
Suletta pressed her hands against her knees to bend down and look the plant over. Very small, obviously unripe tomatoes grew on their vines that were wrapped around a sturdy piece of wood. A hum buzzed in her chest.
“If you think so, then I trust you.” Her smile widened when she looked back at Miorine. “May I get one of these, then?”
Miorine nodded then knelt back down. It was then that Suletta noticed a small toolbox practically bursting with gardening tools were at her feet. A moment of noisy rummaging later, and Miorine held a trowel in her hand. With meticulous precision, she carefully chose a good looking tomato plant and dug it up. She carefully held the bundle of roots in her hands as she plucked an unused pot from a stack nearby. Once she placed it inside, she offered it to Suletta.
“Since you’re starting out, I’m assuming you don’t have any tools or soil?” Miorine asked.
Suletta shook her head again. A laugh bubbled up from Miorine’s chest.
“I thought so. Then come on. I’ll help you.”
Suletta’s head spun at all the new information being shown to her. But as she followed behind Miorine, she thought it might not be so bad.
-----
Suletta stood up with a grunt. Sweat made her hair stick uncomfortably to the back of her neck, but she felt satisfied nonetheless as she looked down at her newly planted tomatoes. It looked a little sad, being the only thing she had for now, but she couldn’t deny how proud of herself she was.
“And it was all thanks to miss Miorine helping me,” she said to herself.
All day she couldn’t seem to get the gardener out of her head, even while she was hard at work. She brought a gloved hand to her face to brush the hair and sweat from her eyes.
“I wanna see her again and tell her how I did…”
-----
The next day, Suletta hopped back onto her bike and went back to the greenhouse. Now that she knew which building had the vegetables, she headed straight for it. Again, she looked up and down the various rows of plant-life, though this time looking for Miorine.
Her shoulders dropped when she couldn’t find her. A disappointed frown pulled on her lips.
“Ah! Miss… Suletta, was it?”
Suletta spun around to see Miorine in the doorway. She carried a small palette of barely sprouted plants in her hands. She wore another, different colored sundress from yesterday, and the same wide brimmed hat. Her strangely graceful movements had Suletta staring when she approached.
“Miss Suletta?”
“Ah! I’m here!” Suletta’s posture stiffened once she realized she had been staring. “I’m sorry! I zoned out for a minute there!”
“It’s probably the heat. It gets rather hot in the greenhouses,” Miorine sighed, obviously knowing from experience. “But what brings you back here? Did the tomato plants not work out?”
“No. I mean, yes, they did!” Suletta stammered, nearly biting her tongue. “They’re fine! I wanted to tell you that I planted them.”
“That’s wonderful. I’m glad to hear you had no issues.”
Suletta responded with a hum and a nod.
“Actually, would you mind helping me choose another plant?” She fidgeted slightly with her hands. “It looks kind of lonely with only one. That’s not really a garden, is it?”
Miorine gave her a bright smile that strangely took her breath away.
“I’d be glad to.”
-----
“I think I have a problem…”
Suletta leaned against her porch’s railing with a sigh. She looked out at her transformed backyard. Vegetables and herbs lined her fences. Everything from hot peppers, to rosemary, to her precious tomatoes stood happy and healthy. Only a bit more than a week had passed since she started making the garden, and it already looked like she had it for months. She ran a hand through her hair.
“And it’s all because of Miorine,” she mumbled. “I can’t get her out of my head.”
Suletta clapped her hands against her cheeks to try and clear her thoughts, but they kept going back to Miorine. Back to her hardworking hands. Her flowing sundresses. Her caring smile. Over and over again, like she haunted Suletta’s every waking hour.
Squeezing her eyes shut, Suletta soon gasped from a sudden realization.
“I think I love her…”
-----
Suletta put her bike in her usual spot by the greenhouse’s entrance. It had become like clockwork. Every day she would show up in the afternoon, find Miorine, and ask about another new plant.
Though she had another question on her mind this time.
One by one, she checked each greenhouse. Part of it was to make sure Miorine didn’t happen to be in one of the other’s for a change, but it was mostly so she could delay the inevitable. Unsurprisingly, she found her amongst the vegetables, like she always seemed to be around this time.
Suletta gulped. The noticeable increase in heat inside stopped bothering her after her third or fourth visit there, but it felt stifling that time. Her mouth went dry as she approached Miorine.
Miorine’s eyes seemed focused and a bit distant, like she was lost in thought. It was a stark difference to her usual content look when she worked.
"You've come here every day now, Suletta." Miorine suddenly spoke up, causing Suletta to let out a surprised squeak. She stabbed her trowel into the dirt. She stood up with a grunt and planted her hands on her hips, not bothering to remove her usual thick gloves. "There must be a reason other than the plants. You've bought so many!"
Suletta fidgeted and bit the corner of her lip. She'd been caught red-handed and now she felt stuck. Her eyes darted around to look at anything but at Miorine’s face.
"I just wanted to start my own garden," Suletta stuttered. She figured it wasn't a complete lie, so she thought she could get away with it. "And the stuff you've grown is so impressive that I wanted it to be like yours."
"While I'm flattered you think like that," Miorine stepped up to Suletta and stood on her toes to get in her face. Despite the height difference, her intimidating aura made Suletta shrink into herself. "I'm also not stupid. What's going on?"
“I-” Suletta’s heart pounded hard against her ribs. Her palms felt clammy, so she reflexively wiped them against her shorts. Nerves started to make her stomach churn. It made her want to throw up, but she shoved the feeling down. “I think I love you, Miorine! Would you go out with me?”
Suletta’s face lit up bright red once she registered what she blurted out. She tightly gripped the bottom of her tank top and bit her lip to keep herself grounded. She waited in silence for Miorine’s answer.
Miorine’s eyes went wide. The surprise on her face was obvious. Slowly, a blush of her own spread across her fair skin all the way to her ears. She soon stared down at her feet while biting her lip.
“I thought you’d never ask…” she muttered.
“What?” Suletta couldn’t believe what she heard. “So you mean-?”
Miorine nodded then finally tore her eyes away from the floor to meet Suletta’s gaze.
Something behind that familiar shade of gray felt different. It felt warm and inviting. It was then that Suletta realized what Miorine said.
A large grin spread across Suletta’s face when she threw her strong arms around Miorine. Without thinking, she lifted Miorine off her feet and spun her around in her hold. Her musical laugh spilled directly into Suletta’s ear. The sound caused her feelings to swell. Suletta’s grin widened to the point her cheeks hurt.
What started with visiting a greenhouse on a whim bloomed into a romance she didn’t expect; and she was quite fine with that.

SuleMio Week Day 1: Birthday
If you’d rather read this on AO3, you can read it here!
(There are slight spoilers in this! It’s advised to have seen up to at least Episode 19 for context!)
Miorine felt weak. Her body ached and her eyes were dry from both tears and sleepless nights. Every time she closed them and tried to get sleep, all she could see was fire and death. That’s what had happened that night.
She laid in her bed, staring hard at the lifeless ceiling above her. The only sound she could hear was the soft thrumming of the air conditioner in her room. A heavy sigh fell from her lips before she sat up in her bed. She reached for her data pad that she had on her nightstand.
Notification after notification flooded her vision. News outlets were calling her a monster. Earthians called for her response to what happened. Anger and hatred rightfully being slung her way.
But she didn’t have the energy to deal with it. She didn’t know how to answer them. It only wore her down further.
One by one, she started to clear the notifications. She was numb to it by that point. At the end of the pop-ups, however, she stopped.
A familiar name stared back at her: Suletta. Instead of her usual text that she would send to her, Miorine noticed all it had this time was an attachment.
Curiosity gnawed at her until she finally tapped it to open it. The only thing attached to the message was a single audio file. Her mouth went dry when she opened it.
“Hey, Miorine.” Suletta’s voice flooded her ears. “I know we haven’t talked in a long time, but I missed your birthday.”
Miorine’s throat closed up with guilt. She swallowed hard at the knot in her throat as Suletta continued.
“I know you might not want to hear from me again, and I know I’m late, but I just wanted to do this.” She heard Suletta take a deep breath. “Happy birthday to you.”
Miorine pressed her hand hard against her mouth as Suletta went on to sing Happy Birthday to her. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes until they eventually spilled over. They rolled down her fingers and dropped into her lap.
Miorine sniffled and wiped at her eyes when pre-recorded Suletta sighed. A beat of silence felt like it stretched on far too long.
“I loved you. And I still love you.” The pain was no longer hidden in Suletta’s voice. “I miss you, Miorine.”
Her voice shook when she took in another breath.
“Happy birthday.”
Miorine’s tears continued to flow when the message ended. She didn’t know just how much she missed Suletta and just how much Suletta cared for her.
She felt stupid. Yet in the same vein, she was relieved. Hearing Suletta, even though it hurt, still simultaneously felt like a soothing balm to her aching body.
Miorine scooped up her data pad again. Her thumb hovered hesitantly over Suletta’s number. Biting her lip, she tapped the call button.
It barely rang a single time before it cut off.
“Miorine!” Suletta sounded ecstatic.
“Hey, Suletta.” Miorine’s voice, on the other hand, sounded rough and exhausted.
They awkwardly sat in silence. Miorine picked at a loose thread on her blanket that she had draped over her legs.
“I miss you, too,” she finally broke the uncomfortable stillness. “I’m so sorry.”
Miorine choked back another bout of tears that wanted to flow. She pulled her knees up to her chest and hugged them close to keep herself together.
“It’s okay,” A small smile could be heard in Suletta’s voice. “I forgive you. I love you, after all.”
Miorine swallowed then smiled weakly herself.
“I love you too, Suletta.”

I? Worked on writing today???
It wasn't a lot, and it was just some mild editing on something I've started a bit ago, but I actually had some motivation to write a bit.

KiraSaya Week Day 6 - Rest
Silence surrounded Kirari when she finally arrived back at the Academy after dealing with some Clan business. She had nearly asked Ririka to take care of it for her since she usually hated boring meetings, but she figured she could handle it. It turned out to be a rather trivial matter in the long run anyway. All she knew was that she wanted to finish up any Student Council work then head back home.
Kirari pushed open the heavy doors to the Council room. They creaked and groaned from their own weight before closing behind her with a thunk. As expected, the room appeared empty as the rest of the Student Council headed home long ago. However, she did notice a figure slumped in their chair with their head resting on their folded arms.
A low laugh bubbled up from Kirari’s chest when she saw that it was Sayaka. A pen dangled between her fingers, barely in her grasp anymore. Countless papers and documents were splayed out in front of her. Out of curiosity, Kirari picked a random one out from the pile. She smiled a bit when she realized it was the paperwork that she was about to do herself.
“Sayaka, you’re going to work yourself to death, I swear,” Kirari whispered. She shook her head as she placed the paper back down onto the table. She reached over and gently tucked a strand of Sayaka’s hair behind her ear. “Come now. Your back is going to hurt if you stay like that.”
Sayaka responded by curling up tighter and making a fist around her pen before relaxing her grip. Kirari shook her head again then shrugged off her blazer. She neatly draped it over the back of her usual chair then stepped up next to Sayaka. Instead of shaking her awake, Kirari carefully knelt down, slipped one of her arms under Sayaka’s legs by her knees, then the other around her shoulders. Kirari took a brief moment to prepare herself before lifting Sayaka and bracing her against her chest.
It took little effort to pick her up from her seat; Sayaka was lighter than she was expecting. Kirari wasn’t sure if it was lucky for her since she could easily carry the snoozing Sayaka, or concerning since she wasn’t sure Sayaka was eating properly. Kirari pushed those worries aside for now while she made her way towards one of the small couches they kept nearby.
She soon stopped in her tracks when Sayaka suddenly started to wriggle in her grasp. She didn't want to drop her, so she stood as still as she could manage until she settled down. In fact, Kirari couldn't help but smile as Sayaka instead took to curling up tightly against her chest like a child.
Taking only a few more steps, Kirari finally made it to the edge of the sofa. She eased herself down onto one knee so she could gently rest Sayaka down onto the cushions. When she went to pull her arms from around her, Sayaka groaned, shifted in her arms, then turned her head towards Kirari.
“Mm, five more minutes…” Sayaka mumbled with her eyes barely open. Her eyelids slowly drifted back closed when she slipped her arms around Kirari’s neck.
“If you insist,” Kirari said with a quiet laugh. She was sure that Sayaka had no idea what she was doing at the moment. She knew that Sayaka would normally not be so bold.
Instead of laying Sayaka onto the couch like Kirari had planned, she sat down and stretched herself out. She carefully adjusted herself so Sayaka’s head rested against her shoulder and they could both comfortably lie down.
With the early setting sun casting a relaxing orange glow inside the room, Kirari soon let out a yawn of her own. The comforting weight of Sayaka resting on top of her and her steady breathing started to lull Kirari into a dreamy daze. A relaxed smile curled the corners of her lips as she pressed a light kiss to Sayaka’s temple. Sayaka reacted with a hum and tucked her head beneath Kirari’s chin.
She’ll probably be mortified once she wakes up, Kirari thought with another yawn. Her smile became mischievous as she started to drift into a light slumber herself. I can’t wait to see that adorable look on her face when she does.

KiraSaya Week 2021 - Day 5: Flowers
Sayaka frantically ran around her room in order to gather everything she needed that night. One by one, she added things to the small bag that sat atop her bed. Her wallet, just in case. The keys to her home if they were out until late in the evening. She debated it for a moment before she threw a pack of breath mints into the bag as well.
Cliché, certainly, but one can't be too careful, Sayaka thought.
As Sayaka continued her frenzied preparation, her phone chimed to let her know a text came in. She froze, suddenly pulled from her anxious stupor, then shook her head. She scooped up her phone and unlocked it.
The display read, "One unread message: Kirari."
A small bit of excitement started to settle deep in her stomach. She took a deep breath to calm herself then tapped open the message.
Sayaka, I'm almost there. I hope you're ready for a lovely night.
Sayaka’s face flushed red, and her heart jumped inside her chest. She swallowed against the dry lump in the back of her throat before she typed out her reply.
I can't wait, President.
Before she could even put her phone back down, it buzzed again in her hand.
We've talked about this, Sayaka. It's Kirari. Okay?
Sorry… Kirari.
Thank you. I'll be there soon.
Sayaka sighed and threw her phone onto her bed so she could focus on getting ready instead. She stood in front of the mirror in her room, looking back and forth between her reflection and the violet dress she picked out for the occasion that she had hung up nearby. She really did want to make an impression for their first real date.
She never really did count the times they were alone in the Council room where they shared tea and stole kisses here and there. Just the thought of them officially going on a date still made her heart race. She clapped her hands against her face to regain her composure. After staring at the dress for so long, she finally gained the confidence to put it on.
Sayaka took a moment to square away her shoulders then checked her reflection. She turned this way and that to look at how the dress fell along her frame. She still felt a bit unsure about how it showed some of her back, but she was happy with it nonetheless. Lastly, she ran over to her dresser where her usual, white ribbon laid on top of it.
As Sayaka bunched her hair to the side and tied it off with the familiar ribbon, her doorbell chimed and echoed within her home.
Her mouth suddenly went dry from anticipation and, if she was going to be honest with herself, excitement. Sayaka hurried back to her bed so she could put away the contents she wanted in her bag. She let herself look one more time in the mirror, gave herself a nod of approval, then rushed out her bedroom door.
She ended up taking the stairs down towards her front door two by two. She didn’t want to keep Kirari waiting outside for very long, if she could help it. She smoothed out her dress, fixed her bangs, then finally opened the door.
Sayaka froze.
She stood face to face with Kirari in a white dress of her own. Her hair that was normally tied up in looped braids draped over her shoulders. An accenting, half crown braid still kept some of her hair pulled back.
“Wow…” Sayaka finally managed to get out a single word.
"Sayaka…" Kirari sounded like she just had the wind knocked out of her lungs in one fell swoop. "You look beautiful."
"I- Thank you, Pres-" Sayaka's cheeks burned with a furious blush as she bit her tongue. She cleared her throat and started again. "Thank you, Kirari."
Kirari shook her head slightly before her usual, relaxed smile returned.
"I have something for you before we leave."
Kirari finally pulled her hands from behind her back to show a bouquet of lilies in full bloom. She bowed her head slightly while she offered them to Sayaka.
Sayaka was speechless. She became as still as a statue until Kirari chuckled, bringing her back down to earth. She still felt like she was unable to move until Kirari gently took hold of one of Sayaka's hands and carefully placed the flowers against her palm.
The scent of them enveloped Sayaka’s senses when she brought the bouquet up to her nose. She felt tears start to prick at the corners of her eyes from the sweet gesture, but she swallowed them down.
Once she finally regained her composure, she noticed Kirari had offered a hand towards her. A smile finally spread across Sayaka’s face as she took the outstretched hand. While Kirari led them towards the car, Sayaka squeezed Kirari’s fingers. In response, she linked their fingers together.
The gesture made Sayaka’s head swim and only made her grip tighten. A subtle laugh shook Kirari’s shoulders before she turned around to face Sayaka. She leaned in close, causing Sayaka to reflexively close her eyes, until she felt her lips press against her own in a warm kiss.
“Don’t worry,” Kirari mumbled against Sayaka’s mouth. “The last thing I want to do tonight is let go of your hand.”

KiraSaya Week 2021 - Day 1: Tea
Sayaka had been preparing Kirari's tea for over a year now. In a way, she took pride in just how much she remembered about Kirari through simply brewing tea. Sayaka knew she didn't like it too sweet because of how little sugar she preferred in it. She felt she could even pour the correct amount of milk down to the teaspoon without even trying when Kirari would ask for it.
Sayaka knew which tea sets were Kirari's favorite and even her preferred cups for each. Those were a bit easier to tell, however, mainly due to the obvious wear on the handles from countless cups enjoyed from them. Some even had small chips either on their base or on the lip of the cup. Kirari always insisted on keeping them despite Sayaka’s best efforts to replace them.
The blend she would brew would typically be a fairly standard, yet pricey and high quality, breakfast tea. Although Sayaka would sometimes brew one that she would tend to prefer, a mint tea. She remembered Kirari didn’t like it much at first, but she seemed to be requesting it more often as of late.
The mint tea was actually what Kirari requested that day. The cool, familiar smell carried by the steam danced across Sayaka’s nose. A relaxed sigh parted her lips before she carefully placed the lid onto the pot. One by one, she placed the set onto the prepared tray before she carefully picked it up to make her way into the Student Council room.
Bright rays of sunlight cut through the dim room through the large window at the opposite side of the room. Kirari sat at the head of the long Council table. She had turned her chair to the side, propped an elbow onto the table, and stared out said window with her head perched atop a slightly closed fist. She blinked slowly, reminding Sayaka of a tired cat, before a hum came from her.
“That smells as wonderful as always, Sayaka,” Kirari said with a smile.
Sayaka smiled in return, and a small sense of pride settled into her chest. Her shoes tapped against the floor  and echoed their way back at her as she made her way through the otherwise empty room. A comfortable silence settled around them after she placed the tray down onto the table.
As Sayaka poured the tea into the first cup, there was one more thing she remembered about Kirari’s tea: her preferred guest. That would be Sayaka herself. Rarely did she seem to enjoy her beverage with other people. That in and of itself made preparing it all the more special to Sayaka. She smiled to herself as she placed the completed tea in front of Kirari.
“Hm, you seem rather pleased with yourself,” Kirari said as she hooked her finger into the teacup’s handle. “Care to enlighten me?”
Sayaka’s smile softened.
“I’d be glad to, President.”
