I was on a cooking show and was tasked to make dessert. My time in the pantry went horribly and I only got potatoes. I was so mad I woke up.

Blood Drops on Roses: Settling in (19/80)
Wild, Twilight, and the travelers settle into camp for the night. Wild is uncomfortable. Tw: none (threat of stabbing?)
“Woah!”
Suddenly, Wild felt a pressure against his back. Arms encircled his shoulders and went around his neck. His throat tightened, his breath caught, and his fingers clenched around the handle of his paring knife.
But he recognized the voice: the young sailor, Wind. It would not be acceptable to stab one of the travelers—especially their youngest—directly in front of them.
Wind set his chin on Wild’s shoulder. “Are you cooking? You can cook?” he exclaimed right in his ear.

Hello, yes, I am here to discuss real life changes we can make to aid Palestine long term. It’s not a lot, but this is one I’ve made.
I use olive oil to cook. I always have it stocked in my kitchen. Now, instead of just buying it at the grocery store, I get it from Palestine. I may only be a drop in the bucket but with my dollar bill I will actively say, “Palestinian olive oil is the best olive oil. If you burn their olive trees, it does not mean I will buy yours instead. I am a part of the global demand that those trees exist and continue to exist.”
So anyway. That’s a step I’ve taken. It’s a small one, but if ten thousand other feet step in the same direction, then maybe they’ll hear us moving.

it's weird to me that online content on foraging and camp/ bushcraft cooking never seem to overlap, at least not that I've ever found?? foraging recipes are always like 'wild mushroom risotto with chardonnay and arborio rice' and bushcraft cooking is always like 'first, unpack your ribeye you brought from home--' like what is going on here, surely 'guy who wants to camp out and cook over a fire' and 'guy who wants to eat some plants they found in the woods' cannot be completely separate venn diagram circles

The thing about McMansions is that they always look so empty?
Like, if I had that kind of money a solid half of that thing would be a greenhouse. A couple of rooms turned into an all-inclusive enclosure for a water monitor. Open an entrance into the L-space by hoarding books.
Like you've got that big fuck off house and you aren't even doing anything interesting with it. Loser.

Made dal and rice tonight, and every time I make it I wonder why I don't do it more often.
I made another batch of bread, too, and it came out much better than I expected. I'm trying to get a better cooking/meal prep routine going for this semester – living off of frozen lasagna is nice enough in the short run, but it's not ideal long-term, especially on a grad student budget.
