i’m torn between indian and pakistani mainstream media bc i feel like the former tends towards wanting to be progressive as a whole but often makes haphazard attempts in the process that certainly have their heart in the right place but are still not doing quite enough and then the latter is like 90% straight women hating shite from the gutter but the leftover 10% that is actually worth something is some of the most phenomenal stuff you have ever seen and near close to perfect. but it’s only 10% and you have to wait and wade through so much of the shite to even get to it

How Kashmir and Palestine are Connected through Illegal Occupation
I just found out (although it’s not old news) that Israel plays a huge part in India’s illegal occupation of the state of Kashmir.
It shows just how extremist the government of India is against Muslims (and other minority religions), and how Israel is pushing their “religious war” agenda.
Kashmir is a Muslim-Majority state, under military occupation for the past 4 years by the Indian army. The people cannot walk just any street, there is military everywhere, and violence is very, very common and encouraged as the army has free reign to kill, rape, and commit other heinous acts…just like in Palestine.
When the Indian population sees this type of support for their government from Israel, it further pushes the extremist agenda that Kashmir and Palestine do not deserve freedom because their own government is telling them a “religious conflict”. So, if the Zionists support the Hindu-extremist BJP government in an occupation war against a Muslim state, then the Indian extremists support Israel in their occupation against Palestine.
Which is exactly what is happening. Everywhere on social media, a significant portion of Indians, mainly Hindus, support Israel despite the clear-cut atrocities they commit against the Palestinians.
Why? Not only because their own government supports it, but because it’s the same atrocities they fully support that are committed against the Kashmiris.
Before anyone tries to tell me the BJP Government is not extremist, they have allowed the multiple:
burnings and destruction of mosques
vicious attacks against Muslim families (not unlike Palestinians)
allowed the state government of Uttar Pradesh to BAN zabiha halal meat (the largest state of India)
as well as against other religions as well
And no, India has NO RIGHT to occupy Kashmir; it deserves be a free state
As a Pakistani, I’ve constantly seen how the situation in Kashmir and Palestine have gotten so much worse. I don’t have much of an audience on Tumblr, but I try to do what I can

My Year of (Educational) Podcasts
I spent 12,000 minutes this year listening to podcasts according to Spotify. No, I do not listen to alphamale or girlboss or true crime podcasts– I mostly listen to history, philosophy, and literature podcasts i.e. educational podcasts. Here are 12 fun, well-executed podcasts I’d recommend if you’d like to learn more about your favourite (Humanities and Social Sciences) topics.
Betwixt The Sheets: The History of Sex, Scandal & Society. This is a podcast about the history of sex and sexuality. The podcast pays special attention to overlooked aspects of queer history, pop culture, and cultural superstitions. The love life and sex life of historical and artistic figures are also discussed with historians.
Dan Snow's History Hit. This podcasts discusses the most exciting and culturally relevant historical events and figures with expert panel guests. Clears up historical misconceptions and deals with the most interesting topics in an engaging way.
Occult Confessions. This podcast is about the history of the occult, witches, folklore, magicians, and conspiracies. There are discussions of folklore, religious history, and cults. The themes are dark but quite fascinating.
Intelligence Squared. This podcast is centered on cultural and academic debates and deep-dives into polemical topics among top UK experts. I really enjoy their episodes about writers, art, and artists.
The History of Literature. This is about, well, the history of literature i.e. the contexts that created impressive writers, literary movements, and literary works. It also debates and critically discusses classic works.
The Korea File. Y'all know I love kpop and kdramas and by extension, am quite fascinated by Korean culture and society given how much I interact with Korean media. This podcast, produced by a couple of Korean guys, critically explores Korean media, culture, society, and history.
Not Just the Tudors. A fun history podcast that doesn't only cover English Tudor history, but definitely covers a whole damn lot of English Tudor history. Mainly focuses on 13th-17th century global history.
Classical Stuff You Should Know. A podcast about the classical world, the Western Canon, and world philosophy. Discussions of the classics are in conversational layman terms. Topics not restricted to the Graeco-Roman world.
Why Theory. A podcast that uses philosophy and psychological theory to examine culture, history, art and human behavior. Lots of pertinent contemporary social topics are discussed.
Brown History. A podcast about South Asia and "brown" Asian demographics. A wide range of topics, from Pakistani history to the Indian diaspora to Afghan migration to the colonization of India by Great Britain.
Philosophize This!. This podcast covers philosophy, philosophies, and philosophers. I highly recommend listening to the episodes in order as much as possible. Breaks down the complex philosophical ideas using simple terms.
The Thing About Austen. This is a podcast about the world of Jane Austen from the time period to the people to the culture which influenced her big literary hits. Hits that sweet spot between literature and history in a creative way. Recommend for all the Pride and Prejudice (2005) fanatics.

[Dawn is Private Pakistani Media]
Indian forces opened fire on Pakistani posts along the Working Boundary near Sialkot, military sources said on Thursday. While there was no official word from Inter-Services Public Relations — the military’s media wing — or local law enforcement, reports shared by locals on social media suggested that heavy and artillery fire was heard at several points along the border with India in the Zafarwal sector. According to military sources, the firing began after a drone attempted to intrude into Pakistani territory, which was shot down by Pakistani forces. But Indian forces — ostensibly in a bid to cover up the failed attempt at an incursion — opened indiscriminate fire on Pakistani posts along the Working Boundary.
Sources said that Pakistani forces gave a “befitting response” to the Indian aggression.
[Tribune India is Private Indian Media]
Pakistan violated ceasefire in Arnia sector along the International Border in Jammu division late on Thursday, the day when the erstwhile state was celebrating its 76th Accession Day.
Mortars fired by the Pakistani side exploded inside Arnia town near homes, locals said. There was no report of injuries till the filing of this report.
Unprovoked firing and mortar shells were launched on the Border Security Force (BSF) posts and residential areas forcing locals to move out of their homes to safer places. The details about any loss could not be verified, but the Indian side retaliated with machine guns and other weapons.
An official spokesperson of the BSF said, “Around 8 pm unprovoked firing was started by Pakistan Rangers on BSF posts in the Arnia area which was retaliated by BSF troops. The firing is still on.”
As per reports, Pakistan was using HMG and mortars.

To all the new people in the country...
The people of the United States of America do not hate you or dislike you, well most of us anyway. What we hate is how our politicians have deceived us by how they made your presence in our nation possible. Please read on and think about why you are here in the first place, and I don't mean your reason for coming to the USA, I mean the reason why so many people were allowed in from a certain date in time all of a sudden.
Let me explain. Please read on.
About 30 years ago our nations elected leaders did something that they don't even speak about anymore. They intentionally stopped manning the border, and pretended that it was an invasion of the southern border. Literally they cried "the Mexicans are crossing the border and we can't stop them!" It was all over the media. The greatest nation in the world and strongest most powerful military could not defend our southern border and they announced it on every tv station and every radio station. No internet or cell phone 30 years ago.
"The Mexicans are invading the USA and we cannot stop them" and "the Mexicans are taking our jobs and we can't stop them" were all we were hearing almost the exact same time that it was announced there would be mass layoffs all across the United States. Another thing that started almost immediately was the "dial 1 for Spanish, 2 for English" that quickly changed to "1 for English, 2 for Spanish" because the citizens were getting ready to riot.
Lots of things changed and quickly. Many of us were confused. Many of us were losing our jobs and businesses were closing up, and those who stayed open were replacing the workers with people who didn't even speak our language. It was happening so fast and more cries of "THE MEXICANS ARE STORMING OUR BORDER AND WE CAN'T STOP THEM!!!" Seriously (said sarcastically and truthfully.)
And who were the Mexicans? The Mexicans were every Latino from central or south America who came into the country regardless of what nation they came from. And every politician and media called all Latinos Mexicans, long before Trump was ever in the picture.
And was it only the southern border? Of course not silly. We were told only about the Mexicans so that we wouldn't pay attention to the massive amount of people coming in from India and Pakistan, on planes on the east and west coast. And there were almost as many Indians and Pakistanis as there were Latinos.
Any other nations coming in? Nope. Only Latinos down south and Indians and Pakistanis on the east and west, but no other nationalities. Europeans, very little, a few Russians, Oriental Asians only to work at businesses owned by Asians, and never many Africans. Israelis always had an open door, but not many Arabs at all because they were considered our enemies and not allowed in the USA. About 99% Latino or Indian only, with a 60/40 to 70/30 ratio being Latino. "THE MEXICANS ARE STORMING OUR BORDER AND WE CAN'T STOP THEM!"
Nothing racist said, I hope you see that. We The People were being deceived big time. I say this because most of the people here now don't know what happened. And that has been used to the politicians advantage. Most of the people who lost our jobs have all died by now. And our families were destroyed. Our people will never recover from that time period. But we do not blame you. It was our very own elected public servants in the White House, the Senate, and Congress who did this to us, not you, the people who came into the USA to have a better life for you and your family.
Now you understand why the Great Divide in this country from it's beginning.

That Pakistani girlie had me laughing my ass off for 10 minutes. She's so delusional omggg!!!
It's sad though, when we google Ram Mandir the only articles that show up are presenting half-baked story, deliberately hiding facts and fulfilling the leftist narrative.
Anyone who's gonna look over stories are gonna make the conclusion - wait, Hindus are unstable nationalists (derogatory) who are oppressing The Minority™. I still don't know why they're doing it - what are they gaining from painting wrong picture?????? Why do they want the world to hate Hindus so bad they've gone so far to resort to historical revisionism and erasure.
Note - Sikhs and Jains have been tremendous helpful in our struggle to reclaim this one temple. They understand why Ram Mandir is important to India not just Hindus. They understand Babri Masjid wasn't a place of Worship it was a monument of Slavery.
PS - many christian organisations have donated to ram mandir as well as muslim organisations too.
The only ones pissed off are Leftists who want to brainwash others into being hateful bigots by any means even if it means revisionism and erasure.
Pakistani girl was so delusional. A textbook example of what happens when you only consume media from Al Jazeera.
Biased media in India for the win😔. Not to mention even foreign media outlets covered the inauguration with skewed headlines.
According to Anand Ranganathan, "Taxidermy fetish is what it is". Literally that.
I always find it funny when they call people like me a bigot, like, you can have your opinion? I genuinely don't care? Why are you coming into my blog, an awareness blog and calling me a fascist freak? That's not very "peaceful" of you lmao.
You're so real for this anon.

Closure of Al-fatiha:
Al-fatiha foundation was highly criticized by other islamic conservatives & radicalists. In 2001, Al-Muhajiroun, an international organization seeking the establishment of a global Islamic caliphate, issued a fatwa declaring that all members of Al-fatiha foundation were murtadd (apostate). The organization Al-Muhajiroun also demanded death of Al-fatiha's members.
Due to constant death threats and fear of getting shunned by their muslim communities, many members of the Al-fatiha still prefer to be anonymous so as to protect their identity. While Al-Fatiha worked to combat homophobia within Muslim communities, it also felt it faced the challenge of seeking to avoid provoking an Islamophobic reaction among non-Muslims.
After the organization's founder, Faisal Alam, stepped down, subsequent leaders failed to sustain the organization. It began a process of legal dissolution in 2011.

What happened around the world due to Hindu Awakening All Hindus around the world should read this message! Many people take social media lightly, but let me tell you its power. It only takes a minute to read: 1. All over Europe and America are feeling the pressure due to the new confidence and unity of Hindus in India! 2. Conspiracy to convert poor Indians into Muslims or Christians is exposed by Hindu unity. Our current government has banned 22,000 NGOs and 4 major Christian proselytizing organizations! 3. Due to Hindu solidarity, "Love Jihad" is now reduced to 50% and is also illegal in many states. 4. The unity of Hindus led to Jihad business downfall in many places! 5. Due to Hindu unity, 70% of the people who spoke against Sanatan Dharma have been silenced, on the contrary many foreigners have started accepting it. 6. Hindu unity has reduced jokes about our festivals and culture by 80% on WhatsApp and Facebook! 7. Due to the unity of the Hindu masses, the entire opposition party is now chanting to look Hindu! 8. Hindu unity has put pressure on Bollywood. 9. Hindus are not as quiet as before, they are now protesting abroad in places like London Boycotting Pakistani shops and restaurants! 10. The most important thing is that the inferiority of Hindus is reduced. We gained confidence. We were underestimating ourselves, our own culture, our great history, it stopped. People of the world are attracted by our great culture. Even if you have only 10 Hindu friends on social media, spreading these thoughts among them will help you reach millions of Hindus! If you don't write yourself, at least keep forwarding, sharing, copying the thoughts of those who write/speak. Awareness of Hinduism is increasing day by day. Even Hindus who support "pseudo-secularism" are starting to think about their position! People who use social media to communicate are not necessarily inactive; Some are in education, some are employed, some are in business or self-employed or entrepreneurs! But everyone is doing their best for "Dharma Karya" to organize and create awareness among Hindus!*l Better to live for a goal than to get out with nothing! At least the next generation will proudly say that my parents fought for their culture and country! Hindu organization is a tangible force. So keep connecting and spreading the great message, help each other by forgiving, forgetting, overcoming and trashing caste differences! India will once again become a great nation and a superpower Unity and unity of all our Hindu brothers is very important. 🚩 Jai Shri Ram!🚩 भारत माता की जय ! 🚩🕉️🚩

...I’ve had people engage with my race while dating. Not in a positive way, but in a way that fetishises me. There was a woman, (yes, you guessed right, she’s white), who I went on a couple of dates with and my friends and I still speak about her actions to this day. I came across her on Twitter and we started talking over DMs. She showed mild interest, but not as much as I did: remember, I was eager to prove my bisexuality with women and non-binary people, so would find myself engaging excessively on social media platforms. We eventually exchanged numbers and went out on a date. On the lead up to the date, I would receive a flurry of messages, showing interest but also a very specific interest. She talked a lot about Bollywood and well … Indian things. At one point, assuming she knows more than me, would tell me things about the Bollywood stars I grew up with. I assumed she was just dense, but my horniness took over and I went on the date. It was awkward: she controlled a significant part of the conversation and as it was my first proper date with a woman, I was nervous. The date ended and I felt strange. A few days later we were still talking over text, and she kept talking about India and I found myself sighing every time her name popped up on my phone.
I was on the bus, coming back from a meeting when I looked at my phone and saw a message saying:
‘I’m obsessed with Indians now. Watching these movies like “CAN I HAVE ONE?”’
I stopped moving. In fact, it felt like the bus had stopped in shock too. It felt like everyone on the bus took a sharp intake of breath and were staring at my phone.
‘CAN I HAVE ONE?’
Can I have one? My mind goes to takeaways, because I always give people the benefit of the doubt. She’s hungry for a takeaway? No, she wasn’t. She was hungry for an Indian person. The cannibal nature of her fetishisation is not an exaggeration – there’s a need to devour the culture, the people, the art. They consume it.
‘Indian people fucking love me. I will be in an item song. I WILL BE.’
Do Indian people fucking love you? Really? Because this Indian person is really regretting that date. For those who don’t know: an item song is a number in a Bollywood film, performed by a dancer/actor who isn’t cast as a main character but is just introduced for this song – and it is usually very seductive. Like a sexy cameo that no one needed. I guess that sums her up as well.
‘I FANCY ALL INDIANS. Hahahahahahaha!’
The laugh was deafening.
She talked about adopting an Indian accent, about learning how to speak and write in Hindi and then perform her stand up (yup, she’s a comedian). She talked about wearing Indian dresses like they were costumes and has since modelled for Pakistani TV. She would send me scribblings of her learning Hindi and ask me to translate certain words.
I’m Punjabi. I know Hindi from Bollywood. Also, I can barely write in English, I can’t decipher what you’re writing, woman. Eventually, I stopped replying more and more. It took longer than it should have because my heart was broken over the idea that my first proper date with a woman went down like this. What were the chances. I was so adamant that men were the worst and then I was reminded that white women are not far behind them. She was not at all interested in me, my personality, my work, my looks, my desires … she was interested in the fact that I’m Indian. She didn’t care that I had a magazine that works with creative and young people. She didn’t care that I wanted to talk about systematic oppression. She definitely didn’t care about any of my stories. She didn’t even really want to be with me in any sense of the word.
She wanted to use me to learn how to be more Indian. This white woman. Turns out she was known in the comedy circuit for being problematic and my friends who were actual good comedians filled me in. I’ve been fetishised by men before, but that’s kind of expected. I have very little expectation from them, so I wouldn’t be surprised. But when it came from the first woman I went on a proper date with, it sent me down a hole of uncertainty. I wasn’t sure whether I was able to survive the dating world as a bisexual person, because men suck and now, I had this awful experience. So, what now?
Through time and speaking to others, I developed confidence back in myself, but it has still stuck with me. Now when someone says ‘I’d like to watch a Bollywood film with you’, after I’ve told them I’ve spent the whole day dancing to Bollywood songs, instead of saying ‘sure!’, my mind thinks ‘okay but why though’. And I scrutinise actions. I rarely give the benefit of the doubt. I often overanalyse.
