I can't remember if I reblogged a post I saw a while ago about lost stories because of lost storage, but today I was sorting out my creep and found this:

This disk has, I assume, some of my old stories on it, but l cannot remember which ones, or anything about it, and I have no way of accessing it.

I am assuming the Kat on the disk is my cousin, since that's not my name 🤷‍♀️ like, she's the only Kat I knew at the time this was still a current technology...

How I think my 12y/o self would react to different parts of my current self:

Having a pixie cut: 12 year old me always wanted a pixie cute but thought she was “too fat and ugly” to get one. I think she’d be happy to know we’ve had one for years and feel beautiful

Weightlifting: she’d be so excited that we can squat 255lbs and bench 135lbs! She’d definitely be in awe of what our body can do, even if we never became “skinny” like she wanted

Leaving the Catholic Church: this probably would’ve freaked her out but I think she’d understand all the whys behind it after a conversation

Coming out as bi: would’ve caused some problems. I was pretty homophobic at 12 and while I educated myself and grew out of it, it took me years to accept this part of myself

Still on Tumblr and writing fanfics: 12y/o me would be disappointed but not surprised lol. She always assumed the difference between children and adults was very stark and that she’d have to leave a lot behind to be grown up. She’d definitely struggle to understand that it’s okay to hold onto “childish” parts of yourself

Grad school student: She wouldn’t be too surprised but the fact that I’m studying theology would come as a shock. She was set on going into conservative politics so me being into progressive Christian theology would be WEIRD

Reconnecting with childhood friends: she would be so surprised at how close I am to these people! I had a falling out with my childhood best friend that lasted several years and was never repaired until the pandemic hit. But it all worked out for the better!

When I was younger I used to read the dork diaries and in one of the books there were like questions about yourself and stuff and one had a "letter to 18 year old you"

I'll be reading this letter in a few months

The thing is, I remember some of the stuff I wrote... I'm not sure how old I was but I was in primary school for sure

I think one of the things I wrote was like "is P still bothering you and T? No huh? You're still friends right?" And some things about that I guess, I'm not sure, bc you know me and T were BFFE

As you can guess, we dont talk anymore, me and T

And it's not like we stopped talking years ago, it's recent

And we would still be talking if things didn't go the way they did

I don't really miss her to be honest, I have better friends now. And I can't recognize the person she is now, I see her stories and her snaps. I don't know that person, the girl I knew is long gone

But I know once I open that letter, past me, so sure about our forever friendship is asking questions about her most important person

Hope I wrote other stuff too besides the 10-year-olds-friendship-drama we had bc I don't care about that tbh, hope past me wrote something worth it

BABES Omg I’ve been working on this project for so long that I could not figure out what pen I used to create the effect in the test piece. I went through 3 bags of pens and none of them were right and I was mentally preparing myself to just do a different thing. And then I remembered that I grouped the pens that I used that day in the cup holder of my invalid desk (I don’t know if I told you guys that story).
