Office Romance Prompts

A pretends to not know how to work appliances around the office (photocopier, coffee machine, etc.) so that B will help them.
There’s an office Secret Santa and A swaps with people in order to get B because they have a great present idea for them. Little do they know, B is doing the same thing.
A and B are secretaries for two different executives and often stop by each other’s desks to complain about their boss.
A has a series of meetings with someone who speaks a different language, and B, who’s bilingual, volunteers to be their translator.
A is a delivery person for a local café who does two coffee runs to the office per day. B orders extra coffees throughout the day for an excuse to talk to A.
Oneliners

“You spend more time at my desk than yours.”
“Didn’t you hear? One of us is getting fired.”
“If we’re going to share an office, you have to let me decorate it a little.”
“I’m just sitting on the roof eating leftover ‘congratulations on your new job’ cake. Wanna join me?”
“I don’t think what your wearing is suitable for an office.”
“How many of my pens have you borrowed? Ten? Thirty?”
“Someone keeps leaving origami figures in my desk.”
“Did the storage closet door lock behind us?”

“Fuck you, Wooyoung,” you cried out drunkenly. “Why did you introduce me to this damn job?”
“uh-huh I got it, I’m sorry,” Wooyoung tried calming you, looking around the busy restaurant apologetically.
“I work… I work over time every night, and I don’t even get to have a lunch break,” you raised your arms clumsily in exasperation, standing up from the frustration building in you. “And everyone” You started waving your arms, at the indication, slightly stumbling. “Piles their work on me since I’m the "newbie." Their work isn’t even my job, I’m a secretary. What am I? Some kind of intern? I'm not even that new! I've been working here for 8 months!" You pointed too yourself, eyes wide. "But you know what?!”
Wooyoung cringed, looking behind you, quickly tugging on your arms trying to get you to sit down. “I get it, I know. Now sit down before you fall.”
You thankfully cooperated. “The worst of them all is Jeong Yunho,” You attempted to say in a hushed tone, but it was still loud. “That bastard really gets on my nerves." You sighed, your bottom lip sticking out in a pathetic pout. "Yea, he’s my boss. But does he have to give me so much work to do?! I can’t even go on any dates because I don’t have time! It's his fault that I'm still single!” You cried. Wooyoung tried covering your mouth, but you quickly shoved his hand away, glaring at him. “He’s always so abrupt, and strict.”
“I understand. Just quiet down, huh?” Wooyoung continued trying to calm you, looking anxiously from you, to something over your shoulder. But you were so wasted you hardly even noticed how nervous he seemed.
“He hardly even talks to me, too! He just tells me what he needs with a few short words and then ignores my existence!" "Does he not realize I'm human? I'm a human being! It's so lonely sitting at my desk where no one but him is around," you whined. "He’s just a mindless working jerk!”
“Y/N, be quiet, huh?” Wooyoung now hissed through clenched teeth.
“Ugh,” You quickly stood up again. “And stop looking behind me, it’s so annoying!” Standing up that quickly wasn't the wisest move you made that evening, as you quickly lost your balance and began to stumble backwards. Wooyoung’s face distorted to a face of shock as he stood up reaching for you. Your eyes widened and you let out a small yelp before feeling an arm wrap around your waist, stopping your descent to the ground. The realization was a bit slow for your drunken state, but you finally looked up at who had miraculously caught you. Your eyes narrowed and you quickly stood up as straight as you could, your feet still fumbling a bit, your heels clacking loudly against the floor.
“Jeong Yunho!” You yelled at the man himself as he continued holding onto your arm, stabilizing you. He watched you carefully as you pointed your finger to his face. “You’re a fuckhead!” you giggled at the made up insult. Yunho’s eyes widened with shock at the nickname before chuckling to himself with a smirk on his lips. You slumped a little bit against him, suddenly tired. Yunho looked at Wooyoung, who was watching the scenario you had gotten yourself into with a cringe on his face.
“How much did she drink?” Yunho asked him.
“More than usual,” Wooyoung told him shrugging. “I guess the stress really got to her. What brings you here, Yunho?” Wooyoung asked, a slight smirk on his face. “Did you come because of my text?”
Yunho was silent for a moment. “Why did you both decide to drink on a week-day?”
“We weren’t here originally to drink. We were just eating,” Wooyoung sighed, leaning back in his seat. “But Y/N just kept drinking more and more. I’m sure you can guess why from overhearing her earlier?” He raised any eyebrow at Yunho, scanning his expression. Yunho pressed his lips together, swallowing. He avoided Wooyoung's eyes for a moment. Wooyoung stood up with a grunt before clapping his hand on Yunho's shoulder. “I have to get going now. The guys are wanting to go clubbing.”
“On a week-day?" Yunho asked. Wooyoung simply shrugged, giving a lazy salute with his two fingers. "Aren’t you going to take her home?" Yunho called after.
“That’s your problem now! See you later lover boy,” Wooyoung waved at Yunho and walked out of the restaurant.
Yunho sighed, annoyed. He held you close to him, as he bent down grabbing your bag and jacket from your chair. He started to make his way to the exit when he was stopped by one of the staff. “Excuse me sir, but the meal over there still hasn’t been paid for.”
Yunho scoffed, and shook his head, knowing Wooyoung left the bill to him. “That little shit.” He mumbled, before quickly paying and walking out of the restaurant. The cold air bit at your exposed face and arms, making you whine. The sound was oddly rather sexual, making Yunho's cheeks warm in the cold weather. He cursed his mind for thinking such thoughts, looking up at the sky, trying his best to ignore any such thoughts. He pressed his lips together, before wrapping your jacket over your shoulders. You suddenly stood up straight, stumbling like an uneven bowling ball, singing a tune that Yunho didn't have a chance at recognizing with your offkey singing. He huffed a small laugh, holding your wrist to keep you out of the way of others and the street.
With some difficulty he guided you to his car, and you didn't make it any easier for him to help you inside. And once you were inside, of course that was when you fell asleep. Yunho let out an exhasperated sigh sitting in the drivers seat. He rested his hands on the steering wheel, looking over at you peacefully sleeping next to him. You had a small pout when you slept, and Yunho found himself smiling at how adorable he found it. He straightened up and stopped smiling as soon as he noticed though. He now debated on where to drive. He'd tried to get your address from you earlier, however that conversation wasn't exactly productive. He'd tried calling Wooyoung, but was sent straight to voicemail. He debated his options, before shifting the gear in his car. “My house it is, I guess,” Yunho mumbled. The drive was quiet, and thankfully, getting you out of his car was not nearly as difficult as getting you in. You had simply flopped over his back, making it easy for him to carry you into his apartment.
But when he was almost to his bedroom door, he horrifyingly heard a gag from you! He hurriedly opened his door, but before he could reach the bathroom, he felt an uncomfortable warm wetness over his shoulder, and a very unsatisfying "Bleugh" from you. You had vomited over his white button up, and he felt unbelievably uncomfortable, his shoulders slumping in defeat with a heavy sigh. This wasn't the kind of thing he'd been expecting on a Wednesday night.
He carried you into his bathroom, leaving you seated on his sink counter. You kicked your feet playfully as he got out a spare toothbrush he'd gotten from a dentist visit. He put some toothpaste on it, and coaxed you into opening your mouth. You cooperated giggling drunkenly. As he began to brush your teeth, you looked up at him with doe eyes. He was once again cursing his dirty mind, and tried his best to not imagine something very different from a toothbrush in your mouth. He closed his eyes a moment trying to reset his mind before he resumed helping you brush your teeth, quite thoroughly.
"This is ridiculous," he mumbled to himself. And he really felt that way, it was a simple task that you could probably do yourself, but here he was helping you brush your teeth, while you smiled obliviously. After your teeth were sufficiently cleaned, Yunho helped you down from the counter top, and guided you to his bed. You sat down, passively looking around at his room.
Yunho took the opportunity to gingerly take off his shirt, grabbing an oversized gray t-shirt. But before he could put it on, a pair of arms swiftly wrapped around his waist, pulling him back harshly. He fell back on his bed, a startled yelp managing to escape him. And there you were, hovering over him, your eyes seductive. You ran a hand through your hair, out of your face, letting it fall gently to the side of you.
“Y/N?”
You smiled, leaning down close to his face, your lips a breath away. His eyes widened, and he swiftly grabbed your arms sitting up, avoiding the impending kiss. You groaned at the sudden separation.
“Y/N calm down."
“I'm calm,” You smiled, your hands cupping his face. You leaned in to kiss him, this time too swift for him to stop you. His eyes remained wide for a moment, before easing into the kiss. The kiss was slow at first, your heart was beating quickly, and your cheeks felt even more flushed than usual because of the alcohol. Yunho gently held the back of your head as you wrapped your arms around his neck. His other hand held your waist and began to slowly trail up through your shirt, both of you pulling to deepen the kiss. You began to descend your hand down his chest, before reaching the bulge in his pants. You firmly palmed it, making him moan. However, the action brought Yunho back to reality as he realized the situation.
Yunho pulled away from the kiss abruptly, shocked. You were also shocked but from the abrupt pause. He held your shoulders back as both of you breathed heavily from the make out session. His eyes sparkled as you looked at them, and seemed to hesitate before he avoided yours, distancing himself with you. You reached out for him again, but he caught your arms holding them away from him. “Y/N, you’re drunk.” He shut you down. Your eyebrows furrowed, a protest on the tip of your lips. But he stood up with a deep breath, still avoiding eye contact with you. “You can sleep here on my bed tonight. You have work tomorrow, so rest well.”
He swiftly left the room, and you simply stared at the door. Your head was fuzzy, and your eyelids felt heavy. After waiting a moment in case he returned, you finally laid back on the bed, hardly anything running through your drunk mind as you drifted off to sleep.
___________________________________________________________
You woke up the next morning to your alarm ringing which also triggered an excruciating headache. You groaned, reaching for your phone on your dresser, only there was no dresser as you reached. Your head popped up from your pillow, confused. You squinted around the room you were in, only to see it was not your room at all. You quickly sat up a gasp escaping you, your phone still ringing as flashbacks from the night before came into your mind full swing. Not only had you totally bad-mouthed your boss and he potentially heard it, but you also called him a childish insult right to his face. And to top it all off, you had made out with your “Fuckface” boss after puking on his shirt. You groaned mortified at yourself as you quickly stood to look for your phone, seeing it surprisingly neatly charging on the dresser, with a green sticky note on it. You shut off the blaring alarm, slightly relieving the mind splitting headache you were suffering from. Then you looked at the sticky note.
“I set an alarm for you on your phone so you'd wake up in time. There’s some new clothes for you in the bag on the dining table along with some food to help with your hangover. You can take a shower if needed. and the toothbrush you used last night is still there, it's the purple one. I sent you where the closest subway station is too. Don’t be late -Fuckface”
You once again groaned seeing the horrid nickname you’d given him written at the bottom of the sticky note, crouching down. “I’m done for,” you chuckled in disbelief, letting yourself simply fall to the floor. “My career is over, my life is over-” you let yourself just whine, absolutely mortified. But remembering the warning against being late to work, you checked your phone, relieved to see that you had time to get in the shower as Yunho had said. You tried pushing your embarrassing night out of your head, so all that remained was your terrible hangover. You got up and walked into the kitchen to see some porridge and a glass of water on the table, along with the bag of clothes Yunho had left. You stared at the bowl of porridge for a moment before slumping down in the seat, eating it quickly. It was tasty, and you couldn't help but think about how thorough Yunho was even outside of work. After showering and getting dressed, and applying what little make-up you had in your purse, you hurriedly left the house.
The subway station was really close which made things even less stressful for this morning. And even though you still had a bone to pick with Yunho, you were thankful for how easy he had made it for you this morning. It wasn’t like he was the worst boss out there of course. He was just… very very particular about his work, so much so that it didn’t seem like you could hardly do anything “right” according to him the first 3 months of working for him. You were shocked you hadn’t been fired before during that time as it truly seemed nothing was up to his standard. But finally you had gotten the hang of things a bit, and were able to do some things right. It was even more difficult when your co-workers kept giving you tasks that weren’t even for secretaries, let alone a personal one. They all treated you like an intern, and it felt insulting. But you clenched your teeth and did the work anyway, overworking yourself to the bone.
You took a deep breath in front of your work building, mentally preparing yourself to go inside and face your boss. The same boss you'd most definitely offended, and most definitely kissed last night.
“Good morning,” a bright voice said behind you, and a skipping wooyoung stopped at your side, a giant grin on his face.
“Good morning, my ass!” You scowled, glaring at Wooyoung. He inched away from you, a . “Why the hell did you leave me to Mr. Jeong, you asshole!”
“I had to leave!”
“But that’s my boss you left me with, drunk! Who I bad mouthed too!”
“Well someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed,” he pouted.
You pressed your lips into a thin line, nodding a bit. “Well, I guess you could say something like that,” you mumbled.
“Ladies first,” Wooyoung indicated for you to enter the building first.
“Then I insist you be the one to go first,” you smiled sarcastically. Wooyoung squinted at you, before walking inside, you following close behind, your shoulders sagging in reluctance.
“So, what ended up happening last night?” You both stepped into the elevator
“I’d really rather not talk about it.”
“That bad huh?”
“No, it was worse than bad Wooyoung. All I’m going to say is don’t be surprised if I never come to work again after today,” you sighed, walking out of the elevator together.
“You’re exaggerating,” Wooyoung squinted at you.
“I wish I was! I really fucking wish I was.”
You approached your desk which was just outside of Yunho’s office. The lights seemed to still be off inside his office, meaning he still wasn’t there. You let out the hundredth sigh already today as you slumped down in your chair.
“It’s over,” you once again mumbled to yourself, remembering last night's events. The way Yunho's lips were so soft but strong against yours, and the way he held you so close to him. The way his fingers brushed against your skin.
You sat up abruptly though, shutting down those thoughts before your face turned bright red. "All I can do now is try to convince him to let me stay," you mumbled, straightening some papers you had on your desk.
And there he was right down the hall, Yunho's steady foot prints approaching your desk. You quickly stood up, ready to greet him. You bowed to him with a polite “Good morning Mr. Jeong,” as he passed by, opening the door to his office. You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding, thankful he passed by so quickly.
“Ms. Y/N,” Yunho called, and your head snapped up to him. He was holding his door open.
“Yes?”
“Come inside,” he simply said, walking into his office.
“Yes…” you groaned, your shoulders slumped as you walked through his office door.
“Mr. Park wants to reschedule our upcoming meeting to the 27th, adjust my schedule to fit him in,” Yunho said nonchalantly, taking off his suit coat and resting it on his chair.
“Ah, yes. I’ll quickly do that for you…” You said slowly. You furrowed your brows.
“Oh, and be sure to remind team 1 we have a meeting today to talk about the upcoming project.”
“Of course,” you affirmed. You couldn’t help but feel a little bit confused. He’s acting the same as always. You stared in a bit of disbelief at him. He settled into his seat, opening a manila folder. He looked up at you, puzzled.
“You can leave now.”
“Ah, right.”
You quickly rushed out of his office and into your own space, looking at his calendar for the 27th. You shifted a few things around, but thankfully there wasn’t much scheduled that day yet. You also sent out a reminder to Team 1 about the meeting that would be held in an hour. After that you scanned your emails, thankful for the distraction. 45 minutes passed of productive work before you stood up, and began getting the meeting room ready, setting out water bottles, folders and snacks on the table for everyone.
“Y/N,” you heard Wooyoung call. You turned around to see him at the door, smiling as always.
“What do you need this time?”
“I’m just setting up the presentation,” he shrugged, bringing his laptop in, and setting it up to the big screen at the front of the room. Wooyoung was the team leader of Team 1. You already knew by now that Yunho and Wooyoung were actually pretty close, but you didn’t mind. You’d known Wooyoung since high school, and you’d gone your separate ways after during college, and a few years after that you'd gotten back in contact. You were thankful he’d introduced you to such a big job, but Yunho’s constant corrections of every little thing, and abrupt demands and assumption that you knew what he was thinking 24/7 was still exhausting. The powerpoint was open at the ready. Wooyoung walked over to you, as you were restocking one of the snack baskets. He reached over to pick up one of the mini packages of almonds. “Can’t you bring better snacks than these?” You rolled your eyes, attempting to snatch it out of his hands, but he quickly lifted his arm so the snack was out of reach.
“These are fine. Besides, Mr. Jeong likes them right now,” you sighed, once again trying to reach for them.
“Ah, your prince charming last night?”
You grunted, huffing the hair out of your face as you continued to reach for the snack. Wooyoung let out an annoying giggle which was only getting more and more on your nerves.
“Ahem,” someone behind you interrupted. You stopped, spinning around to see Yunho, leaning against the glass door frame. He had an eyebrow lifted, and his jaw was slacked. He stared at us, unamused.
“Oh Yunho!” Wooyoung greeted finally lowering his arm. You quickly snatched the snack out of his hands and bowed to Yunho. You then started filling the snack basket again, but you could feel Yunho’s eyes still on you.
“Is everything set up?” Yunho finally asked Wooyoung.
“Yes, everyone should be here in just a minute.”
________________________________________________________
The meeting had started out fine, but Yunho quickly began analyzing the imperfections and holes in Team 1's product plan, seemingly extra irritable. Poor Wooyoung was a mess trying to reason with Yunho and keep up with his frequent “attacks.”
“Apparently he also woke up on the wrong side of the bed,” Wooyoung mumbled to you, packing up his laptop.
Well, once again, it was something like that. You patted Wooyoung's shoulder encouragingly. “Come on, it wasn’t that bad,” you tried. “And it’s good he’s bringing attention to these things early on so it runs more smoothly when we finally start on the project,” you reasoned.
“Y/N,” Yunho said sternly. He walked up to you and Wooyoung. “I need you to copy 70 of these and distribute them to all team members personally. After that I need you to plan and schedule the Breakfast Banquet in June. I expect it to be half-way finished by today. Oh, and I also need you to contact Mrs. Lim about the advertisement set-up, and have her change the place to somewhere more… exotic.” Yunho piled. You had gotten out your tablet halfway, frantically typing down everything he had told you, precisely. “Oh, and bring me some coffee and some lunch. Make sure it’s something refreshing.”
“Yes, I’ll start on everything right away,” you said, as he began walking away.
“Ah, and if this is too abrupt and strict for you, then… so very sorry,” he gave you a sarcastic smile, before walking away
Your jaw dropped as you watched him leave. So this is about last night. You closed your mouth, letting out a scoff.
“You regretting what you said last night yet?” Wooyoung teased. You slammed the papers Yunho had handed you onto the table, and gave Wooyoung a scathing glare. Wooyoung took the hint and quickly left you seething.
______________________________________________________
The next day you came to work with very prominent dark circles under your eyes. The additional work Yunho had piled on you had proven to be very difficult and you left work way later than usual, absolutely drained. You were thankful it was now Friday, impatient for the weekend.
“Woah! What happened to you?” Were Wooyoung's first words seeing your face at your desk. You glared at him. "You look like shit."
"Thanks for boasting my confidence there," you said in a monotone voice. “I worked overtime last night,”
Wooyoung pursed his lips. “Couldn’t be me. I went clubbing with some girls. Yeosang and San came with me,” he bragged. This only made you more annoyed.
“Clubbing. On a weekday?” you let out an annoyed chuckle. “Wooyoung, you better get out of here in 3 seconds or I strangle you.”
Wooyoung gave another smile and quickly walked away from your desk. You sighed holding your temples. You heard Yunho step out of his office, and you quickly stood, bowing to him. He pursed his lips gradually approaching your desk.
“The Breakfast Banquet planning looks good so far. You can slow down on the project now over the next few months. And Mrs. Lim called with the new location for the ad. It fits well,” Yunho told you awkwardly.
You gave your best smile. “Glad to hear it.”
He nodded, walking away slowly.
“Glad to hear it,” You mumbled, mocking yourself. “More like that’s what I better hear!” Your phone pinged and you glanced down at the message. It was an announcement of a team dinner with team 1 that you were invited to. You smiled, excited for ending the evening the right way.
“Y/N!” You looked up and spotted one of the members of Team 2, Han Yoonjung approaching your desk, with a big smile. Your own smile faltered. Yoonjung was one of the main perpetrators of passing off her work to you. And she always made it practically impossible to say no to.
“Hi, Ms. Han,” you greeted politely.
“Oh come on. Call me Yoonjung, I don’t mind,” she smiled. “Hey, so tonight my boyfriend made some plans to go out to dinner that I totally forgot about. Problem is I have a bit of a project that I need to finish before tomorrow. Would you be able to finish it for me?” she asked.
You paused for a moment, already annoyed. “But I actually have a bit of plans tonight. There’s a team dinner.”
“Oh those are lame anyways. Always so stuffy and boring. I'd actually be doing you a favor helping you get out of it,” she dismissed. “Please?”
You hesitated on what to say, wanting to refuse more firmly while still being polite. You opened your mouth to speak, but someone spoke before you could. “She said she had plans tonight.” You looked at Yunho as he approached the both of you.
“Oh, well I was just asking for a bit of a hand to help,” Yoonjung tried to excuse herself.
“Doing a full project for another worker is hardly a bit of a helping hand. That's quite literally doing their job for them," Yunho explained. Yoonjung was about to speak again, but Yunho beat her to it. "I can’t say I’m impressed that you keep handing off your work to my personal secretary,” Yunho raised an eyebrow. Your stomach jumped. Yes! Help me out of this for once, please! I stayed here way too late last night for you not to stand up for me!
Yoonjung shrank down. “I was just asking since I wanted to go to dinner with my boyfriend and-”
“And I don’t see why Y/N would need to take responsibility for that,” Yunho interrupted, sternly. Yoonjung swallowed, her cheeks red. “I also know this isn’t the first time you or others have asked. Y/N is a personal assistant, not a crew member on one of your teams. Her job is very different, and important for me." Yunho said. His defense was giving you butterflies, which in a way felt pathetic, but you couldn't help but feel a little giddy. "Y/N doesn’t accept work from anyone else, unless it’s been pre-approved by me. I hope you spread this to your co-workers as well,” he told her in a firm yet gentle manner, making sure to stay professional. You looked down at the ground, swallowing a victorious smile.
“Yes sir,” Yoonjung affirmed. Yunho gave her a short polite smile before she walked away.
“Thank you, Mr. Jeong.”
“Of course. And it's true, you shouldn't be accepting work from others unless I approve, so don’t hesitate to call for me,” Yunho smiled. He then lifted his hand which held a coffee. “You seemed tired so I got you some coffee.”
You blinked in shock, and then finally grabbed the coffee. “Oh. Thank you.”
“Don’t mention it,” he dismissed, walking away into his office. You held the back of your hand to your cheek, trying to cool it. You couldn’t help but smile as you sipped on the beverage, and sat back down at your desk.
_______________________________________________________
The restaurant was loud with all your co-workers from Team 1 talking and laughing. You were also thankful to be participating in the fun.
“You seem more energetic since Yunho’s additional tasks yesterday,” Yeosang said. He was sitting across from you taking a sip of the water in front of him.
“Oh. It wasn’t so bad,” you dismissed, taking a bite of food.
“Yea right,” Wooyoung chuckled. “Your dark circles were practically sagging to our feet this morning.”
“Stop exaggerating,” You shoved him. It was true that it was a lot of work, however your mood about it had significantly improved after talking with Yunho. You felt a bit pathetic for feeling so happy over such simple things like him praising you, or defending you against co-workers shrugging their responsibilities on you. But it did make you happy, and you took the optimism gladly. Suddenly there was a rush of shocked conversation around you. You looked up and saw Yunho’s tall and lithe figure walking into the restaurant. Wooyoung and Yeosang waved him over and he approached the three of you. He sat down next to you smiling. He looks so cute. You thought. You may have not always been a fan of Yunho, but you weren’t a liar. He was obviously a very attractive man. So attractive it was sometimes hard to be mad at him. You made eye contact with him and your stares lingered for a moment, before you both looked away. You chewed the inside of your cheek, unsure what to do with yourself now.
“You made time to come. We’re glad to see you,” Yeosang clapped Yunho’s shoulder.
“I thought it wouldn’t hurt if I came,” Yunho shrugged, taking a drink.
Everyone was enjoying their time eating, drinking and talking. As Yunho, Wooyoung and Yeosang talked and goofed off, you couldn't help but smile along. You were getting a bit tipsy, and decided to dismiss yourself to the bathroom real quickly. You stared at yourself in the mirror, pinching your cheeks a bit trying to remain as sober as you possibly could. Your cheeks were already a bit flushed, and the pinching didn’t help at all, but you couldn't get drunk tonight. Not after that fiasco a few days ago.
You walked out of the bathroom, and there Yunho was leaning against the opposite wall. He walked up to you, a shy look on his face.
“Listen,” he starts, chewing the inside of his cheek. “I’m sorry for piling all that work on you. I understand it was a lot, and it was petty of me to get back at you.”
You sucked at your teeth taking in his apology. “Don’t worry about it. I’d have to work on all of it eventually, so it was a good head start. Besides, I said some pretty terrible things about you.”
“Guess we’re even now,” Yunho said.
“Well actually, about that other night-” You started, but Yunho shifted uncomfortably and interrupted you.
“I think we should get back to everyone, don’t you think? Wooyoung and Yeosang will definitely eat all of the meat if we're not there.”
“Oh. I guess so.”
You both started walking back to the group, but before you could be in view of the others Yunho leaned down trapping your head behind a busy booth, whispering in your ear. “You’re a good kisser though.”
Your cheeks flushed and your heart was throbbing as you both sat down. Yunho hid a smile as he sipped on his drink.
“Y/N, were you able to get that guy's number last weekend? I left before seeing you actually do it,” Yeosang asked. You sank down in your seat, embarrassed for some reason.
“No… He left before I could ask,” I said shyly.
“Come on, you hardly go clubbing with us and you missed this one opportunity to get a guy's number,” Wooyoung whined. “Why don’t you come clubbing with us again this weekend?”
You glanced over at Yunho, his tongue was in his cheek, and nose slightly flared. “I think I’ll actually pass,” you said.
“Then should I be the one to get your number and show you a fun time?” Wooyoung teased.
You fake gagged. “Wooyoung that’s just not right,” you said.
“You’re right,” he shivered at the idea.
Yunho quickly stood up now, swinging his suit jacket over his shoulder. “I have to get going now. Wooyoung, make sure to use the business card.” He quickly walked out of the restaurant. You frowned at his abrupt departure, you'd slightly been hoping to talk more.
“What was that about?m He looked pissed.” Yeosang mumbled. Wooyoung and Yeosang dove back into conversation, while you were lost in thought. What did Yunho mean exactly, by being a good kisser? Why would he say that to you? Was he wanting to forget that night, or remember? You couldn't tell what he was hoping to achieve by complimenting your kissing skills, and it was killing you.
Your phone pinged, dragging you out of your thoughts. The message was from Yunho.
I’m down the street by the bus station. Meet me there in 5 minutes.
Your heart leaped and you quickly exited the message so Wooyoung’s nosy ass wouldn’t see. You waited for a moment, before standing up with your bag and pulling your long coat on. “Hey I have to get going now. I’ll talk to you guys laterm though.”
Both Wooyoung and Yeosang protested as you left, but you simply waved and walked out the door. You pulled your jacket closer around you, your hairs rising from the bitter cold. You walked at a quick pace to the bus station Yunho had mentioned. You didn’t understand exactly why you felt so giddy. He probably forgot to give you some business file, but for some reason the thought of seeing him in private made your stomach feel jumbled, especially after he had suddenly complimented your kissing skills earlier.
You arrived at the bus station and looked around. There was an older man, drunkenly sleeping on the bench, but Yunho was nowhere in sight. You felt the giddiness start to dissipate and your shoulders started to slump when you suddenly felt a hand grab your wrist. You turned and saw Yunho quickly pulling you to a dark small alleyway making the giddy feeling come back full swing.
He pushed you against the brick wall, arms holding the wall on both sides of your head. He stared at you for a moment. His eyes sparkling from what little light there was around, but his eyebrows were still raised with an air of sternness. You were breathing heavily, your heart beating quickly from the unexpected turn of events. Finally he leaned down to you, kissing your lips with vigor. You kissed him back matching his intensity. He held your head, and tilted into the kiss, deepening it, now holding your waist with his other hand, pulling you closer to him. The wetness in your panties was inevitable at this point, especially as he placed his leg between yours. He broke away from the kiss, and you briefly worried he would stop like he had last time you’d made out. Instead he spoke in a hushed tone.
“I thought I gave you so much work you didn’t have time to date? You were going to give your number to some guy at the club?” He then started to kiss down your neck, the hand at your head now traveling down your leg.
“I thought of it, but decided not to after remembering how much I wouldn’t have time for him,” you breathed out.
“Ah, is that why you decided to flirt with Wooyoung instead?” Yunho nibbled at your collar bone.
“Wooyoung and I don’t flirt. He’s basically a brother to me,” You sighed, biting your lip. Yunho moved his hand to the inside of your thigh, traveling up your skirt. You got a run of shivers from his touch along with the cold.
“And?” Yunho asked, his lips once again at your neck. His long fingers were now brushing the hem of your panties.
“And I’d never date him,” you told him.
“Good girl,” Yunho said, finally placing his hand over your clothed pussy. He could feel how wet you were, soaking through your panties. He stopped kissing your neck and looked at you now, smirking. “You’re so wet for me, sweetheart,” he hummed. You let out a shaky breath, trying your best not to moan. You gripped onto his arm as his two fingers pushed aside your panties, smoothing over your slickness. “Were you wet like this the last time we made out?” he asked.
You couldn’t even respond, just desperate for his deeper touch. Your eyebrows were furrowed and you closed your eyes, trying to enhance what you were feeling from his fingers. “Your little pout is so pretty, baby. Do you want more?” he asked. You only nodded. You could hear him breathe out a chuckle as he slipped his two fingers inside you. He let them slowly reach up, and slowly pulled them out once more, making you almost moan, but you quickly covered your mouth, choking back the demonstration of pleasure.
Finally he began to slowly pump his fingers inside you, trying to subtly find your g-spot. Finally, his fingers reached it, and you trembled a little bit, letting out a small whimper. Yunho gave a sly smile. “Found it.” Now that he found it, he was intent on using it as much as he could. As he massaged your g-spot he used his thumb to rub your clit. You were trying so hard not to moan with every pump now, and could only let out small quiet whimpers now. “You’re staying so quiet for me baby, you’re doing so well,” Yunho now whispered in your ear.
“It feels so good,” you whispered back.
“Better than wooyoung, or that guy could ever make you feel, right?” He asked. You only nodded now, unable to speak. There was tension building up in your stomach, and you held tight onto Yunho’s wrist, feeling your orgasm on its way. “You got it sweetheart. Cum nice and sweet for me.” he encouraged, feeling you start to clench around his fingers. Your relief was hanging on by a string as he fingered you even more rigorously, and he rubbed your clit even harder and faster. Finally your breath hitched as that string finally snapped, and your body shook a moment from the intense orgasm. You barely stifled your moan, but your legs started to lose strength. Thankfully Yunho held you up with strong arms. “You did so well,” he whispered, kissing your forehead.
“Hey, we should all go for a second round!” You heard Wooyoung's voice approaching from down the street. You quickly looked at Yunho, frightened to be seen in this state. Thankfully he understood your look. The sad part was his fingers leaving your insides, as he used his other hand to spin you away from the outside view of the alleyway. His tall figure blocked you completely from outside view.
“Haven’t you had enough to drink?” You heard Yeosang reason, very nearby now. Yunho’s head tilted, listening intently. You could see the group's shadow begin passing by in random conversation.
Yunho gave you a seductive glance, sticking his two fingers which were inside you inside his mouth, sucking. You stared at him, turned on once again. He took the fingers out of his mouth leaning down to you. “You really did cum nice and sweet for me,” he whispered after the group had passed.
You rolled your eyes, an inevitable smile on your lips. You stood on your tippy toes, giving him a kiss, which he gladly accepted. You broke the kiss, and he looked at you curious. “Am I really that good of a kisser though?”

Pairing: Sherlock Holmes x Fem! Reader
Word count: 3.3k
Requested? Yes! And it was by @gaitwae (i hope you like it <;3)
Summary: Sherlock finds himself entranced by Lestrade's best friend and co-worker.
Warnings: kinda office romance, fluff
Masterlist
Sherlock Holmes was a man of pragmatism and cold truth. He could answer to any question, he could find a resolve in everything (science always played a part in this sense), but when his dear roommate and companion, John Watson, suggested that maybe the suspect was in love with the victim's wife, he felt repulsed by the idea.
"Absolutely not, John! Have you paid attention to the details, to the facts?"
John's eyebrows shot to the top of his head. "Have you?"
Scoffing, Sherlock put his hands in the coat's pockets. "Sentiment is a chemical defect found in the losing side. No, we're dealing with a cold murderer this time, not some love sick puppy. If he were in love, his eyes pupils would have dilated when we asked about her, but they did not. And I-'' he trailed off when he saw a familiar mop of hair appearing behind John and talking to Lestrade, a notebook in her arms.
John turned around, eyebrows still raised and he crossed his arms, a smirk finding its way on his lips. His eyes met Sherlock's again. "You were saying?"
Sherlock licked his suddenly dry lips and blinked. "I, uh-"
"Cat got your tongue, Sherlock?"
It was as if Sherlock's brain short circuited, cutting all the ties to reality. He blinked and gulped thickly. ''When in love and looking at the object of all your desires and affection, your pupils get dilated. The pulse gets increased and you feel your breath leaving you. But that's not true, that's just an illusion, it's your body reacting to hormones. It's just pure science, really.'' he said, whispering the last part and never taking his eyes off of Y/N.
She was laughing now, touching Lestrade's arm and shaking her head in amusement. And Sherlock felt his stomach twisting into something he couldn't name. He tilted his head. ''I'm right, aren't I, John?''
''I don't know, Sherlock, but it doesn't seem so to me.''
Sherlock's gaze slowly left Y/N's figure and met John's eyes. His eyebrows pinched together. ''Why do you say that?''
John's smirk never left his lips. ''Your pupils dilated.''
Sherlock nodded, a realization dawning on him. And his eyes were again on her, just drinking her in. ''They did, didn't they?''
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
Y/N L/N was a woman of soft love and indulging daydreams. A pure romantic at heart, she could find meaning in every glance and smile (she did learn best from Jane Austen). But when her best friend and co-worker, Greg Lestrade, inquired about her new crush, she mumbled an excuse, blushing furiously and averting his gaze.
"Oh come on! I know you, Y/N! Been knowing you for years now. So, who is it?"
Shaking her head, Y/N replied. "No one."
Lestrade furrowed. "Then why are you blushing?"
''Why are we talking about this now? We're at a crime scene.'' she almost snapped.
Lestrade pursed lips, nodding and putting his hands in his pockets, his gaze looking in the distance at nothing particularly. And for awhile, neither of them said anything, the bustling of the forensic pathologists filling the air. Y/N fumbled with the notebook in her arms, her gaze sliding towards a certain curly haired man. They rarely talked about anything other than work, but she always found herself enticed by what he was saying. His mind worked in mysterious and interesting ways and she only wished to understand it more, to be the one overtaking his thoughts. Just like he did hers.
He met her eyes across the room and she felt her face flush. He acknowledged her with a nod of his head and she smiled his way.
''It's Sherlock, isn't it?'' voiced Lestrade besides her.
She snapped her head towards him, almost getting a whiplash. ''What?''
He just laughed. ''I'll be sending you over to him with work more often, then.''
Her laugh matched his and she smacked his arm, while shaking her head. ''You're impossible.''
''But the best!''
''At annoying me, maybe.''
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
Sherlock kept coming to crime scenes with John as he usually did. And things just went as they usually did. Anderson and Donovan were insufferable as ever, making wrong assumptions and awful comments. Graham (or was it Greg?) was useless as ever and John muttered praises under his breath, as always (''That's brilliant, Sherlock!'').
Except this time he was suddenly hyperaware of her presence. She always seemed to be there, in the corner of the room silently watching him work through the mystery and fog. It clouded his mind. He blinked, trying to get rid of the incorrigible thoughts and the tightness in his chest. He cleared his throat and risked a glance at John, who had his eyebrows raised. ''Right, well, uh, I have to think about this one, really mull it over.''
He straightened his back, popping the collar of his coat. But then, he looked at her and paused in his tracks. ''Unless, Y/N has anything to add to the case.''
She seemed lost in thought because once her name was spoken, by Sherlock no less, she snapped out of it, a blush adorning her cheeks. She visibly gulped and took a step forward, hugging her notebook closer to her chest. Her eyes met his and she had to inhale just so she could breath again. He was looking at her so intensely that she felt like she was being analyzed under the microscope, as if he could read through her. As if he could take her apart, soul by soul, layer by layer.
Y/N tore her eyes away from his and flipped through her notebook, only stopping when the date of today caught her attention. ''Well, uh, I believe the victim's wedding ring is missing.''
''There wasn't any wedding ring.'' interrupted Lestrade, frowning.
She nodded. ''Exactly. If you look at her left hand, you'd find the shadow of a wedding ring. She's very tanned, she must've returned from a vacation. Somewhere warm, as there isn't any sun in London. But she never did take off her wedding ring, the white line around her finger is the proof of that.''
''She could've just lost it.'' added John thoughtfully.
Sherlock remained quiet, his gaze pinned on Y/N, attention undivided by anything else but her. He was listening in, his mind screaming at the possibilities.
Y/N shook her head. ''No. The pictures of her husband in her wallet tell me otherwise. She cared. She wouldn't just let her ring get lost. There's something else there. Someone must've taken it. Maybe our killer.''
Sherlock's eyebrow arched and his eyes lit up. ''Impressive observation, darling.'' He started smiling and he grabbed her shoulders, leaning in to kiss her on both of her cheeks. ''Thank you!'' he said in a very excited voice, much like a kid would exclaim on a the Christmas morning at the sight of presents.
And he was off, the coat fluttering behind him in waves and leaving her flustered and red in the face. His kisses on her cheeks burned her like fireworks in the sky. She touched with shaking fingertips where his lips met her skin and she slightly smiled.
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
221B was quiet, John gone God knew where. The rain was splattering against the windows in loud and almost thundering drops. Sherlock was sitting in his armchair, deep in thought, his hands lanced in a prayer position. He sighed and closed his eyes, his mind going off the rails.
The squeak of the front door pulled him to the reality. His eyes snapped open and his ears perked up. Light footsteps. Not John, as he walked harshly, his feet dragging behind him (he never actually left the war behind). Probably a woman, then. But not mrs. Hudson, as she always wore heels.
Sherlock slowly got up, his eyes never wavering from the door. The creeks of the stairs. Not a client, as the footsteps didn't sound urgent.
He was now in front of the door, touching the door knob and opening it like a storm cleaning everything in its path and he was met with the surprised eyes of Y/N L/N. She was drenching and panting, the rain really wearing her down. Her hair was soaking, raindrops falling from it and down onto the carpet with splashing sounds and the clothes were sticking to her skin and hugging her curves. Sherlock bit the inside of his cheek to not glance down her figure out of respect and dignity.
She sneezed, eyes closing and eyelashes shining with raindrops.
''Looks like you're catching a cold.'' Sherlock said in greeting.
She nodded before sneezing again.
''Bless you.''
She shivered and her arms hugged her waist in an attempt to find some warmth. Sherlock's eyes softened, but his voice remained impassible. ''Do come in, you're soaking my carpet.''
Flustered, the words came out of her mouth in a mess, closing in on each other and flying from the tip of her tongue. ''Uh, I'm sorry, didn't mean to- I just-''
''Save your energy and stop explaining yourself, you're obviously shivering and in dire need of a hot bath. Go do that, you're my guest. I'll prepare tea and get you some clothes to change in. Then we can talk.''
He gestured her towards the bathroom, before turning his back and leaving her with a red nose and a freezing face.
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
He was stirring the tea when he heard her small footsteps padding on the floor. ''Do you take your tea with milk?'' he asked without looking up. ''I usually do and-'' Sherlock lifted his head and his words died in his throat. He finally understood the concept of your breath leaving you at the sight of something beautiful. Because Y/N was beautiful, a rare landscape. An oil portrait that deserved to be admired in a museum. Almost Mona Lisa like. She was wearing one of his old sweaters, back from his university days, and some worn out pants he found in the back of the wardrobe. She was wearing his clothes. Alas they were a bit too big on her, the sleeves of the sweater falling down her hands and swallowing them whole.
''No milk for me.'' she replied in a meek and already raspy voice. The cold was catching up to her.
He blinked the awe from his eyes and handed her a cup of tea. ''Careful, it's hot. And you should take some meds.''
She thanked him by nodding her head. ''Where's John?''
''With his new girlfriend, I presume.'' Sherlock scoffed, turning around and searching through the kitchen drawers. ''He's never out his late usually. He always goes to sleep early.''
''And you don't?''
''I don't sleep when I'm on a case.''
''But you need the sleep.''
Sherlock met her gaze and flipped towards her a bottle of medicine. ''And you need to take these.'' he replied with a sarcastic smile etched on his face. But his eyes betrayed his whole cold demeanor. They were soft, almost warm. And Y/N was afraid to maintain the eye contact for too long. His eyes haunted her. She felt vulnerable under his gaze. Exposed.
She thickly gulped. "Can you start the fire? I'm still a little bit cold."
"If you take the meds."
"I will."
Sherlock rolled his eyes. "I mean now."
She huffed, but complied anyways. The tea burned her throat, the aroma bursting in colors on her tongue and the sweet smell tickling her nostrils.
Sherlock nodded and then entered the living room, crouching down near the fireplace. "Why are you here?"
"Do you want me to leave?" she asked once she was seated in an armchair.
Sherlock glanced towards her. Y/N was sitting in his armchair, slowly sipping her tea and looking around curiously. No one actually sat on it, besides him. He never let anyone. He inhaled and tore his gaze from her and onto the split firewood in front of him. "Do you want to?"
"No." she replied, watching him.
He got up, the fire coming alive in reds and oranges, the wood cracking. "Then stay." His eyes didn't stray from her as he took a seat in John's chair. "Why are you really here, though? We're not actually friends, so you can't say you came to visit. You were panting, so you must have run all the way here. Unless, you missed the bus. But that can't be as you live on the other side of London. And you weren't planning it, either. If you did, you would have known they announced rain later today and you would have carried an umbrella. But you didn't, so I assume this was a spur of the moment idea. Am I correct so far?"
She blinked. "Yes, but-"
"And you didn't come on behalf of work, either. You would have carried some files and you would have been all business, no play, as you usually are." He leant forward on the seat, his arms coming to rest on his knees. "So, tell me, why are you here, Y/N?"
Her cheeks reddened and she shifted in her seat, her hands gripping the tea cup. "Did you just deduce me, mister Holmes?"
His eyebrow arched, hiding under a stray curl. "Why, was I wrong?"
Y/N shook her head. "Not a bit."
A smirk bloomed on his lips. "Of course I wasn't, darling. I never am."
"You're quite narcissistic." she replied, her eyes watching him over the rim of the cup.
"I believe the correct word would be modest."
She hummed, the corner of her eyes crickling in amusement. She gently put down her cup and looked him in the eye. The fire sprayed shadows on his face, the room in a low glow. "Did you solve the case, Sherlock?"
Confusion overtook his features. "Is this why you came all the way here?"
She shrugged inocently. "I was curious. Did you?"
He nodded, the fire reflecting in his eyes and ebony hair. "Yes. You helped me. When you told me about the wedding ring, a light went off in my head. I searched through her wallet. You were right, she cared too much to lose a wedding ring, it meant a lot to her. And I think someone got jealous."
Y/N arched an eyebrow. "An affair?"
"But not on her part, though. Love is a strong motive. It makes you do crazy things." Sherlock whispered.
His gaze burned her. He searched her eyes, as if he was hoping to find something in them, and then his gaze drifted off to her lips. "I know the signs." he said.
"What signs?" Y/N replied breathless.
"Your cheeks redden every time you look at me, your pupils dilate. You think I don't notice, but I do. Every time."
She swallowed. "Is that- Is that a bad thing?"
He got up to his feet and took slow steps, only stopping when he was close enough to take her wrist. A gentle touch. Her heart almost beat out of her chest and a lump formed in her throat when Sherlock leaned in to whisper into her ear, his breath warming her skin. "I took your pulse."
Y/N fluttered her eyes shut when she felt his lips skim over her jaw before he lightly kissed her cheek. "The feeling's mutual, by the way." he said in a low whisper, his lips caressing her afire skin.
And then he was up and away, smiling genuinely at her, a sparkle in his eyes. "You should get some rest. I'll be sleeping on the couch, you take the bed."
She opened her mouth to protest, but he beat her to it. "Please, you're my guest tonight. It would be my pleasure."
Y/N nodded, getting on her feet, her eyes meeting his chest. He was wearing the purple shirt he wore last week. His figure towered over her and he gently took her hand. "My room's that way. If you need anything, tell me. Good night, darling."
And he pressed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
John found the atmosphere weird that morning. His eyebrows were scrunching and he looked at Sherlock. "You're awfully quiet." he said while he spread butter on toast.
"Am I, really?" replied Sherlock, not taking his eyes off of the newspaper he was reading.
"Yes, you are. Don't you, usually, ramble about some newfound case?"
"Usually."
"Then, what's different this time?" replied John before he bit into the toast.
The clicking of a door and the sight of a just waken up Y/N made him choke on the food. "Careful, John, you'll die if you do that again. Good morning, darling. Tea?" said Sherlock in a sweet voice.
Y/N simply smiled at him, averting her gaze from John.
"I'm sorry, I feel like I'm missing something." laughed John.
"No, John, you're just delusional." said Sherlock, while he poured tea in a cup for Y/N, who was blushing furiously under all the attention.
"Wait 'till Greg hears about this!" replied John, still smiling in awe.
Sherlock's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Who?"
"Lestrade." said Y/N from besides him.
"I thought his name was Gavin."
"It's Greg."
"When did this happen?" interrupted John, all sparkling eyes.
Sherlock rolled his eyes, picking up the newspaper once again. "Nothing happened, John."
"I'm not believing a word! This is too good-"
"Stick to blogging, John, gossiping doesn't suit you."
Offended, John gasped, turning to look at Y/N. She avoided his gaze, drinking her tea and looking at the walls around them. "Right... My bad, then." he said, sighing.
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
Sherlock Holmes started smiling at crime scenes. It was almost off putting, the way a genuine smile would break through at any moment. In front of a corpse, no less.
Lestrade noticed it. He also noticed the oh-so-not-subtle glances. Sherlock's eyes would slip over to Y/N and she would meet his gaze, almost shyly but smiling.
Then, the detective started asking her opinion on the cases more often and Lestrade knew. How could he not when it was all so obvious?
"You know, Sherlock, one day you're gonna steal my co-worker." he said as he approached him.
Sherlock's face remained impassible like stone. "That won't ever happen. She'll come willingly if you keep boring her. Send her on real cases, she's smart enough to solve them on her own."
Lestrade opened his mouth to reply but he was left in the dust after Sherlock spotted Y/N. "Yeah, okay..." he trailed off as he watched Y/N greet Sherlock with a blush and a shy smile.
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
"Let's have lunch." said Sherlock to Y/N, meeting her eyes and standing straight. He wore his blue navy coat and a white shirt this time.
"To talk about the case? I think I found a lead and-"
"No."
Her eyebrows furrowed. "No?"
He took a step closer to her. "No. Let's have lunch to talk about ourselves."
She felt her face flush. "Oh."
Sherlock's eyes held a look of amusement and adoration and he smiled. "I believe the correct word would be yes." He lightly took her hand, his thumb caressing her skin in slow circles. "Please, do me this honour and let me take you out on a date."
Y/N smiled up at him, before standing on her tip toes to kiss his cheek. "I'd love to."
Bonus:
"I kind of set them up." said Lestrade as he and John watched the interaction between Sherlock and Y/N from afar.
"How so?"
"I stole Y/N's umbrella and then set her off home, asking her to stop by 221B in order to ask Sherlock what progress he was making in solving that case."
"Oh, Greg! That was brilliant! She spent the night there."
"Did she?"
"Yeah."
"Interesting."

Uptight Boss | Karma x Reader
Tumblr media
He's late. Again.
How many times is that? Three? He's been here for a year now, he should know better.
The person you were currently cursing in your head was Karma Akabane. One of the staff members in the office you manage. He was supposed to be here over an hour ago, and yet, he isn't.
Your secretary felt your irritation when she saw you looking at Karma's empty desk.
"He'll be here soon. He's late, but he doesn't miss a day." She tries to reassure you and adds a smile for effect, even though that never works on you.
"Well, he shouldn't be late regardless." You shook your head. "Well, enough of him. Did you find the new schedule I asked you to print out?"
"O-oh right!" Your secretary squeaks and starts rummaging through her desk. However, in the back of her mind, she did question why you're not as upset with her about losing these papers. Because you would scold her for the tiniest things.
Just as your secretary found the paper, Karma Akabane finally decided to show up.
"Akabane. I'm so glad you decided to show up for work finally." You curtly greeted with a sarcastic smile.
"This time I have a good excuse," Karma says, cool and aloof as always.
Normally, everyone around the office would immediately apologize to you. You're a strict boss and want to keep everything in order.
However, when it came to Karma, it was a different story. This man did not care for authority. He's the only one who had the nerve to talk back and even give you some snide comments.
The nerve of him, honestly.
"Oh, then pray to tell."
"Traffic."
You deadpanned
That's the oldest excuse in the book. Not to mention, traffic was just fine today.
"Ugh." You scoffed. "Get to work."
"You're the boss." Karma smiles.
The two of you went your separate ways, and the people around the office could only watch and stare in surprise at the lack of tension. You were known to be extremely strict, and Karma was known to be the slacker. That was obviously going to stir up some arguments between the two of you. And it has, which is why those around you expected to be a lot harsher on Karma.
But, lately, you weren't as strict with him as you used to be.
And that's because you're dating the redhead.
You weren't exactly sure how it happened either. Ever since Karma started working here, the man has been testing your patience. The reason you haven't fired him is because, believe it or not, the slacker is actually good at his job. When things get hectic, you can rely on him.
One time, when you were about to head home, you were walking past Karma's desk and noticed him fast asleep, with stacks and stacks of paper already done.
Something that night made you see Karma differently. He was still a pest in every sense of the word, but you grew to respect him. And that grew into a crush. The feeling was mutual since the two of you were seeing each other a lot.
Then, the office threw a party. One with alcohol in it. One thing led to another, you ended up on his lap and making out with him in secret.
You wanted to blame it all on the alcohol and forget about the whole thing, crossing it off as a "heat of the moment" kind of thing. But you couldn't get him off your mind. Karma allured you, as well as you allured him. He just kept breaking down your defences. He would secretly run his fingers down your thigh, flirt with you when he could, and find ways to be alone with you.
After a few late-night hookups, he manages to convince you to be in a relationship with him.
So the problem? Well, the problem was that relationship in the building was prohibited. You may be the boss of this floor, but you have no control over changing any rules of the building.
It was upsetting, but no use fussing over it now. You already made your decision to stay with the redhead in secret.
You stayed in your office most of the time but were beginning to feel tired and found yourself wanting to sleep on your desk. Ugh, that cup of coffee this morning wasn't strong enough you supposed. You pushed your chair back and stood up to leave your office.
You can always get your secretary to get you the coffee, but you need an excuse to walk around. Besides, you like your coffee in a specific way that nobody can do it right.
Just when you were about to enter the kitchen, you heard two women talking about Karma and you.
"I'm surprised the Boss didn't throw Akabane out the window this morning." One of the office workers said.
"Right? I was late yesterday and she gave me a ten-minute lecture in front of everyone." She scoffs.
"... Well, to be fair, you were late for a very important meeting." She says and her friend just rolls her eyes.
"You don't think they're dating?"
You flinched but kept quiet.
"Oh please, not everyone who hates each other secretly wants to fuck. You watch too many office dramas"
"I'm just saying. Those two don't argue as much anymore."
"Probably because it's exhausting." She sighs. "There is no getting through that guy."
You quickly turned your heels, ignoring the rest of the conversation.
No, no, no!
This is what you were afraid of.
You know it's just two people gossiping. It happens.
But, if one person was able to point out how different Karma and you have been acting towards each other, then it's only a matter of time before everyone in the office draws to their own conclusion. What if HR starts to get suspicious? What if the higher-ups hear about this?
You cannot allow this.
As much as you were panicking on the inside, you remained cool and firm as you walked through the floor of the office and went straight to your secret boyfriend.
"Akabane, can I see you in my office?"
You have to kill off any suspicion. That's why, instead of getting your secretary to bring Karma to your office, you went up to him yourself. To show everyone what you weren't through with this redhead yet. Everyone thinks you let Karma off the hook, but if you came up to him like this, everyone would think that even Karma can't escape any of your rules.
"Hm? Sure boss."
Karma acting arrogant and smug, shouldn't be anything new to anyone or out of the ordinary, so no one questioned his carefree attitude when you wanted him in your office.
Karma followed you to his office.
You shut the door and even locked it for privacy.
"What's up~?" he sang innocently as he twirled a lock of your hair.
You brushed his hand away. He wasn't going to smooth talk his way out of this one.
"Please stop coming into work late, Karma." When it's just the two of you, it is okay to call him by his first name. "If I keep letting you off the hook, people will get suspicious."
"Sorry," Karma says, though, he sure didn't sound sorry. "But my girlfriend kept me busy last night."
"We weren't out that late." You sighed.
Because you had to go to work a bit earlier, you couldn't spend the night with him.
"Did you suddenly forget that I'm also your boss? I can't give you special treatment." You remind him. You're pretty sure you made that abundantly clear on the first day the two of you established the relationship.
"Then chastise me in front of everyone next time. I don't care." He then smiles. "I think it's hot when you're mad at me."
You gave him a face but softly chuckled. He was such a strange man, but you couldn't help but adore him.
"At least make an effort to come to work early." You try to reason with him. "I'm not asking as your boss, I'm asking as your girlfriend. I don't want either one of us to lose our jobs."
Karma hummed.
"Okay. But~" Karma sang. "Only if you agree to come to my house for dinner tonight."
The corner of your lip twitched up to a smile.
"Deal."
The man smiled earnestly at your answer. As much as Karma hates following rules, you're glad he was willing to put in an effort for you.
"Well, now that's taken care of..." Karma lowered his voice as a sly smirk crept up on him.
Knowing what he wanted, you allowed him to snake his arms around your waist and pull you in for a kiss. A kiss he has been craving since he saw you today.
It was okay to kiss him in here. Your office is locked and the blinds cover the window that has a view of the office. As for the window that had a view of the building, it was okay to leave the blinds up. Your office was up way too high for anyone to see through, especially with the sun glaring down on it.
Karma's kisses grew a bit more intense as he pushed you to the edge of your desk. He lifts you to sit on it, causing some of your items to rattle and fall. The noise wasn't loud enough to garner the attention of anyone outside so no one bothered to check on you.
For a second you both pull apart to exchange flirty smiles before resume kissing in a needy fashion. Your fingers would comb through his red locks while his hands tightly grip your waist, prompting you to gasp.
The supervisor in you was telling you that this is wrong. You expect everyone working under you to follow every single rule here, yet here you are, making out with one of your subordinates. You were being a hypocrite.
But, for Karma, you don't care. This man has you under some sort of spell that makes you want to break the rules for him. His lips and touch were so addicting that you could get lost forever. However, you were able to snap back to reality before things got too far when you felt Karma's hand going under your pencil skirt to reach for your underwear.
You hurriedly pushed off the man and hopped off your desk.
"N-not here." You said sternly as you smoothed out your skirt and blouse.
"What? It's not like we haven't done it in your office before." He grins devilishly at you.
"It was after hours. When everyone but us went home." You frowned.
And even then that was a bit risky.
Karma leaned in and kissed your neck.
"They won't hear us if we're quiet," the redhead murmured in a husky tone. He wrapped his arms around your waist, trapping you in his hold.
You're not going to lie, you felt extremely tempted and even glanced at the door, telling yourself that everyone should be too busy with their own work to even come in here. Especially when you felt Karma's kisses on your sensitive neck.
Dammit, why does he have to be so hot?
You fought the urge to pull him for more kisses and just pushed him off. There was an obviously disappointed look on his face, but he didn't pressure you.
"No. Just go back to work. And, I'm sorry, but you're going to have to work over your lunch break. I have to give you some sort of punishment."
Much to your surprise, Karma doesn't argue with you. He normally doesn't get mad when he's in trouble. Especially now since his tardiness gave him an excuse to be in your office to make out with you in secret.
"Yeah, yeah." He says with a lazy smile. "Just remember we have a date tonight."
"I don't forget things," you cheekily tell him as you adjust his suit and hair so it doesn't look as though Karma was making out with someone when he walks out of here. "Now leave."
As a goodbye, Karma kissed your forehead.
"See you later." Your boyfriend tells and playfully sticks his tongue out.
And the look on your face just made him want to brag to everyone that only he can make you, the uptight (y/n) blush like that. But, of course, he won't. His relationship was far more important than anything.
He leaves your office, and a wave of disappointment swims through you. But, you know why you can't have him in your office for very long.
You continued your work, hoping Karma would at least make it sound like you gave him an earful. That way, supposedly rumor would just die down. You didn't hear anything else throughout the day. You only caught your subordinates gossiping about the other workers.
You can breathe another day.
For the whole day, you couldn't help but look forward to tonight. You don't have to be Karma's boss, you can just be his girlfriend and enjoy a nice meal with him. After work, you quickly went home to change and shower and drove straight to Karma's house.
You didn't realize just how hungry you were until you stepped into Karma's apartment and smelled the food he prepared.
"This smells so good." You said dreamily and then started to eat, but being careful not to stuff down your entire plate.
"Did you eat anything today?" Karma asks.
You swallowed. "No. I had a cup of coffee and a muffin for breakfast. But that's about it."
"You push yourself too hard. Tsk."
"Try being in my shoes for a day."
"Oh, I could if I would. I would even be a better boss than you, sweet cheeks." Karma says smugly.
"Something about that thought terrifies me." You muttered.
"As it should."
The two of you continued to talk and eat. Whenever you would rant about something that happened at work, he would listen. Today you had to bitch about one of your superiors and how incompetent he is. Karma asked you if you wanted him to put laxatives in his drinks. To which you told him not to. Though, you were tempted to say yes.
When dinner was finished, you helped him with the dishes, though, you didn't finish as quickly as you wanted because Karma kept playfully flicking water in your direction.
After a few scolding here and there, the two of you managed to finish. To end this date, the two of you cuddled up on the couch to watch a movie.
It was a stupid rom-com movie. You only told Karma this, but it's one of your guilty pleasures. He can go ahead and tell everyone in the office, but he knows no one is going to believe him.
You like it because the plot is always so simple which is what you need after a long and stressful day.
Not to mention, it is also perfect for getting you to sleep.
"Want me to drive you home?" Karma asks when he sees how heavy your eyes are getting.
You tiredly shook your head and cuddled closer to him.
The redhead couldn't help but smile at what he was seeing.
"Okay," Karma says quietly.
Very soon, you fell asleep on his chest. Karma lowered the volume of his TV and kissed your forehead.
When the movie ends, he'll put you to bed and call it a night.
He's got to get up early tomorrow for work too.

workplace romance prompts
feel free to use :)
character a starts at a new firm and lo and behold the person in the office (character b) over is a childhood friend/high school ex
them racing each other to the office every morning
them walking in together and splitting up reluctantly to start their work day (esp if they work in diff departments or are keeping the relationship a secret)
them eating lunch together in the cafeteria
“have you eaten?” “no.” “be there in two.”
one leaving roses and lilies at the others desk every morning
office enemies to lovers !!! must i even say anything i have like a million enemies to lovers posts
rather than competing to make the other fail, challenging each other to work harder and become better at their job
“do you think we should tell anyone?” “i’m okay with whatever you want. i’m just glad you’re mine.”
them sending little sticky notes to each other during work
both of them sick of the job, huddled together in a corner, faces inches apart like “no, don’t quit. if you quit, then i’ll quit.” “if we both quit then our full time job can be loving each other.” “God you’re corny. i love it.”
“what do you need from me? i don’t need this job. i don’t need any of them, okay? i just want you.”
both of them just being passionate about their work together
working in the same office for years but never really running into each other until one meeting
“i am so tired i could sleep in lava.” “come, my love. i’ll carry you to the car.”
unfortunately, character a works with their ex. when they’re unwillingly arguing with them off to the side, character b happens to overhear and defends character a while pretending to be their current partner to shoo the ex off… but now the whole office thinks they’re dating
“maybe if you could do your job i wouldn’t have to correct you.” “maybe if you stopped correcting me you wouldn’t be getting fired.”
rather than working in the same office, one works in the actual office and the other works in the cafeteria, or the janitorial, or the front desk, or the print office
both of them snuck away and are hiding together, trying to keep their laughing fits as quiet as possible
^^ “stop laughing, i really have to get back to the conference in like five minutes!” “we can make it quick.” “STOP.”
“wait… you like ME??? i thought you liked (other colleague)???!!?!(“ “HELLO???? I LITERALLY SWITCHED TO YOUR DEPARTMENT FOR YOU!!!”
“i can’t believe we worked together for five years and i’ve literally never even seen you.”
both of them being able to rant about colleagues or bosses they can’t stand
“i admire you so much.” “stop.” “no, i’m serious. you do your job so damn well, i’m in awe of you.” “we have the same job.” “and you do it better!”
“race you to the cafeteria?” “always.”
disagreement on whether or not they should tell their other colleagues
i also caution everyone who wants to write a boss/colleague story! not that i’m saying it never works, those often get tricky with power dynamics and can ruin the romance aspect. otherwise happy writing :)

Of the shows listed in my post on Workplaces in QL shows, these are the dozen I would consider to be "office romance," in that the romance centers around or starts because of the office setting. (Again, there are many shows I haven't seen yet, so this isn't a complete list.)

In a blink of an eye Miguel throws you into the air and with the help of a few faux webs your quickly taped down to the ceiling ,your hair falls straight down blurring your vision as you feel your back ache after suddenly being slammed into the roof.
-“¡Mierda Peter!”- Exclaimed Miguel as he watched Peter Parker walking in drunkenly still with his baby’s kangaroo on.
-“Where’s y/n?”- asked the joyful man with a can of Heineken in his hand.
-“she…”- Miguel lengths his sentence trying to compose a valid excuse but the worry that he didn’t stick you properly to the ceiling resulting in you falling down and possibly hurting yourself was all that could occupy his mind.-“Just left actually.”-He says with a fake smile.
Miguel was too busy trying to not break a sweat from his sudden acting role to notice that even though Peter was drunk his spider senses still worked perfectly and that he could sense your exhilarating heart beat from miles.
-“Well I just wanted to tell you that y/n told me about your injury so I could help out with the spiders , and as a friend I want you to take care of yourself, Mayday and I care deeply about you , we don’t want you to martyrize yourself for the sake of the association. For you information we perfectly run smoothly without your help for a few days. So as long as I find a babysitter for may I’ll replace you on your missions ,how does that sound ?”- Even though Peter was inebriated he pulled together the last night of eloquence he had so he could show his dear friend he cares about him.
The corner of Miguel’s lip raised for a millisecond before returning to his normal serious facade.
-“Thank you Peter but I won’t let you take over my responsibilities over a little injury. Plus with the recent raise of anomalies i don’t want to take extra risks. Do you want me to ask spider noir to take you home , you seem wasted.”- He ends the conversation with a small chuckle.
-“He’s even more wasted than I am! I’m too drunk to discuss this with you right now but just know the conversation is not over.”- Peter hasn’t gone out in a while since having mayday so he enjoys all the fun he could get.
And with some heavy unbalanced steps he quickly left the room leaving you too alone.
-“Miguel, I feel all the blood in my body in the front of my face. Please get my down.”- You groaned as you stayed still.
-“Coming.”- He said as he jumped about 13 feet in the air, With one hand he grabbed you by the waist and with the other he used his claws to rip the webs , he swiftly landed on the ground while you sorta struggled to climb off him to place yourself on the floor.
After letting you down you noticed that Miguel winced and started to rub the area that you just injected.
-“Don’t be too hard on yourself. You should take peters offer , it’ll be for his own good too. He needs those missions to get in shape so he’ll be able to keep up with mayday.”- You giggled as you started to put away the supplies.
-“Too dangerous.”
-“Oh Please Miguel, I know you think you’re the shit but i know they’ll get by perfectly without you.”- You sometime liked to provoke men by hurting their ego this way it’ll leave them flustered or confused, this lets you convince them easier it may seem Machiavellian but it’s for his own good.
Miguel’s brows tightened into a knot while he glared at you.
-“It’s not that, I’m just Really good at my job I guess.”- He murmured trying not to flatter himself too much when in reality he likes to think that the success of the spider society is due to his strict , hard handed leadership.
-“Whatever you say, i hope you’ll be able to climb walls as your ribs start pinching your lungs.”- you struggled to avoid letting out a laugh while watching the terror mirror in his face.
You quickly put away everything in their respective rooms and commanded the bots to sanitize the room before your arrival.
You grabbed your purse and walked back to the main room thinking migue would have left already but to your surprise his big figured continued to loom over the poor stool.
-“Goodnight Miguel.”- You smiled as you grabbed the door handle , before you knew it you felt a calloused warm hand grab your wrist.
-“Let me take you home.”
-“What for?”-You questioned.
-“To thank you for your services ,even though they were forced on to me.”-Miguel insisted as his hand refused to leave your small wrist
-“Be my guest.”
⋆。°✩ ⋆。°✩🕸
Miguel drove a Ford raptor 150, A real vintage model but you could say it went well with his personality. The car smelled of smoker rosewood and was surprisingly spotless.
As you were driven to your home you couldn’t help but notice Miguel’s fixed gaze on the road or the way his rough hands grabbed the staring wheel firmly, you tried to not let your eyes wonder but they automatically traveled up to his arms that were decorated with bulging veins and a beautiful tan, your glare finally ended up on his face, his cheekbones and jawline were as sharp as his attitude , but what really caught your attention was his eyes ; they were cold and opaque like they were dull buttons glued on to his face. You concluded that he was strangely too handsome to be Spider-Man , he should be an old spice model or something.
-“Got something on my face?”- He murmured looking at you through the corner of his vision.
-“Yeah you got a little bit of blood; you better clean that up before they think you’ve killed someone.”- You responded as fast as lightning refusing to let him catch you off guard.
-“You always got a comeback huh?”- He sighed as he looked through your side mirror so he could take a turn.
-“Actually it comes out pretty naturally. It’s a gift you could say.”- You started to enjoy the conversations you two have while alone, this moment is not the exception. He was actually a pretty nice guy when he’s not throwing tables at unsuspecting people.
-“You live in a nice area of the city, I’ve never been here;must be a pretty safe spot.”
Miguel changed the subject while looking at the surroundings of your street , you choose this area because there were a lot of parks , trees and most importantly beautiful flowers to gaze at while taking a run.
-“want to know an unconventional reason why I choose this street.”
-“Enlighten me.”-He said as he swiftly parked in front of your building while turning his body to you so he could pay attention to you fully.
-“My parents immigrated from another country and where I’m from we lived in small town surrounded by a lot of nature, so you can imagine the shock when we moved here with concrete everywhere and all the pollution. So I picked this street cause the smell and ambiance sort of reminds me of home you know?”
-“It’s funny how everyone tries to make their reality one where they were most happy, even if it doesn’t exist anymore.”- He noted with a somber look in his eyes.
As you noticed the tensed up environment you decided to call it a night.
-“Thanks for the ride Miguel.”
-“Wait let me walk you to your door.”- He said grabbing the handle of his door.
-“There’s no need.”- You said with an earnest smile. -“Don’t want the door man to get the wrong idea.”
⋆。°✩ ⋆。°✩🕸
Miguel locked the door to his penthouse and took his shoes of at the entrance , the Interior of his home was inspired by rustic minimalism.
The low glow of the lights made the house seem lonelier that it already was.
The bronzed man made his way to the shower turning on the cold water before taking off his clothes. He looked into the mirror to stare at the injuries staining his body, he was used to looking at open wounds and sometimes cuts that never healed properly due to his negligence, but then he stared at the little dots pertaining from your syringe, it’s the first time someone cared enough to tend to his injuries. He knows it’s your job and that he shouldn’t feel giddy over this, but after today he couldn’t help but feel a little appreciation towards you.
⋆。°✩ ⋆。°✩🕸
The next day In the spider society hungover Peter Parker had a very important mission, he wanted to convince Lyla to suspend Miguel’s watch for at least a day so he could heal properly; he already informed the closest spider people so they could all be on their A game on todays mission for the sake of Miguel’s health.
-“Lyla I know it’s too much to ask but please keep it a secret from him!”- Pleaded out Peter almost on his knees.
-“There’s 5 anomalies roaming around the multiverse, how do you expect me to stay quiet”.- Groaned the ai.-“It’s Miguel’s choice if he decided to go out and bust his back, plus if I do decide to follow up on your plan he’ll be forced to stay here in HQ and bitch at me.”
-“Just trust me I have a plan.”
⋆。°✩ ⋆。°✩🕸
After a rainy morning you arrived at HQ , after some greeting you noticed two spiders who were particularly hung over so you decided to prepare some iv bags and fluffen some pillows in case they wanted to come by and take a nap.
But as soon as you unlocked the door you noticed a sandwich from an artisan deli from the nice part of the city along with a warm latte.
You tilted your head in confusion wondering who could have left it here, on closer inspection you noticed a mint green note the top of the sandwich that read.
(Here’s last nights over time fee.
