A Better Father (Loki X Stark!Son!Reader) *PARENTAL
Characters: Loki X Stark!Son!Reader
Universe: Marvel, Avengers
Warnings: Parental negligence, bad relationship with parent, mention of drugs and underage drinking
Request: could you do a tony x son!reader, in their live, tony was always cold to him (but eventually take him in with pepper) and then Peter Parker show up and take that away, Loki see him in reader (like with odin and how he treat Loki and Thor) and decide to adopt him, teach him magic, reader happy again 😊.
Notes: I wrote this and completely forgot it's meant to be male!reader until it came time to post- I think I've corrected it, but if you spot I've accidentally used the wrong pronouns please let me know so I can fix it. Thanks!

“I’m going out!” You announced, already at the front door, pulling your shoes on and your jacket, before grabbing your bag, hand on the door handle before you got a response.
“Where to?” Pepper asked, rounding the corner, arms crossed.
“My friend is doing a school project and wants my help with it.” You excused yourself, being careful not to go into any details.
“Do you need a ride?” She asked.
“No, it’s okay, there’s a bus that takes me right outside their apartment. I don’t know how long I’ll be, since we have a lot to do, if it gets late I’ll call you to let you know I’m okay and I’ll stay over, is that okay?” You asked her. Pepper walked a little closer, her expression clearly troubled.
“I’ll have to ask your father…” She commented, and your shoulders slumped, you turning to face her.
“You know he’s not going to care, Peps. In fact, I’m going to predict what he’s going to say, something along the lines of ‘yeah, yeah, whatever’.” You mimicked, Pepper frowning, knowing you were right. “I appreciate you actually trying to make up for him, I really do. It’s why I go to you instead of him for permission- because you actually care. Please don’t waste your breath. If he actually wants to know what his son is doing, he’ll do it himself.” You pointed out.
“I know… he should be better, and I want him to be better for you… and I also know you’re lying to me.” She pointed out. You felt your heart drop into your ass, and you sighed. “I told Peter about one of your prior projects with friends, and he looked into it- wanting to see if he could help as well, but then found out that your friend doesn’t even exist.”
“Has he told Tony?” You asked.
“No. He hasn’t. I made him promise to wait, told him I’d deal with it.” She explained. “Peter also cares about you, even if he doesn’t have much time to actually spend time with you.” She pointed out, and you just nodded. You’d accepted that even though Peter was Tony’s favourite despite not actually being his kid, when Peter got an idea od the dynamic between you and your father, he tried his hardest not to play into it or make it worst, though he often realised after events that he actually had and had not realised it. He always apologised for it, always tried to spend time with you in school, and on more than one occasion, he’d covered for you or even claimed something you did that your dad didn’t like was his idea, knowing Tony wouldn’t punish him and it would stop your relationship with your dad somehow getting worse. You appreciated him, he was like a brother in a way, and at this point, more like family than your dad, like how Pepper was more of a parent than Tony was, despite you not being related either. Same with Happy. Same with…
“I’m sorry for lying to you. And Peter… I just…” You fumbled.
“What’s going on, Y/N? Where are you going?” She asked, her voice soft and welcoming, a silent promise that no matter what, she wasn’t going to yell, turn on you, that she actually cares and just wants to be there for you.
“I’ve been going to meet someone… not romantically or anything!” You told her quickly. “I’m not doing drugs or anything like that either.”
“That’s good, so you’re being responsible with this person… why have you been hiding this person from us then?” She asked. You thought for a second on how to break the news, and in that time, Pepper started to pry a little more. “Are they… older?” She asked. You nodded. “So not a teenager? Out of school?” She asked, and you nodded again. “How old are they?” She asked, tilting her head. Another hard question, and you bit your lip, and sensing you weren’t confident answering, she changed her question. “What do you two do? It’s not illegal, so what’s so bad you have to hide it?” She asked.
“He’s… mentoring me.” You told her.
“Oh, so he’s like a professor? A teacher? What’s he teaching you?” She asked with a smile, seemingly suddenly relieved, getting the idea that you were getting one on one lessons for something you were interested in as a future career, and she was ready to support you from the jump.
“Magic. He’s teaching me magic.” You admitted, which made Pepper’s eyebrows press together. “And not the cut a woman in half or pull a rabbit out of a hat kind of magic.” You clarified, and she had a moment of realisation.
“I know two people who know magic. One is Strange, who your father gets along with and so learning from him wouldn’t be a problem, which means… Loki? You’re going to see Loki? He’s teaching you magic?” She asked, and you nodded.
“Please don’t tell Tony! I promise, Loki’s been nothing but kind to me! When we’re not doing magic, we just read books together- or go on walks or stuff!” You explained.
“What kind of magic?” She demanded.
“How to teleport, how to create an illusion, today he’s teaching me a spell that translates both written and spoken languages!” You explained to her. “He said for a treat for my birthday he’s going to teach me a spell that lets me understand animals because apparently what they say is really funny and cute and he thinks I’ll like it.” You explained to her. She clearly wasn’t convinced, and you sighed. “We do other stuff to.” You told her.
“Like what?” She asked.
“You know when Tony’s in a bad mood or I do something he doesn’t like and we get into an argument and I go for a walk to cool off and don’t come back for hours? Loki walks with me. He makes sure I don’t do anything stupid… I feel so safe with him, that I feel comfortable and safe enough to actually cry.” You admitted. You watched Pepper’s concerned expression fall. You never cried- at least not at home. Not at school either, according to Peter. You didn’t cry in front of her, or Peter, or Happy, and sure as hell never in front of Tony, no matter what he said or did. “And he knows what I need when I cry. He hugs me, he just lets me cry, he doesn’t shush me or try to make me stop. If anything bad happens, I go to him first. Like when I went to that party last month and got wasted and realised I didn’t know how to get home- you and dad thought I left with a stranger and stayed with someone who I didn’t know and then came home when sober- instead I called Loki and he looked after me during the night, he rubbed my back when I threw up, hugged me and promised it was gonna be okay when I was crying, he made this really nice tea which instantly made my hangover go away, and promised if this ever happened again he’d do it all over again, and then he took me home when I felt well enough.” You admitted to her.
“Where do you two hang out, usually?” She asked.
“He has a little apartment, there’s probably a hefty amount of magic to make it so the other tenants can’t notice the door to it since it defies the floor plan of the entire building, but it’s so cozy, and warm and I have my own bedroom there- which is where I go whenever I have any ‘sleepovers’, though I do make him watch movies, especially bad ones.” You laughed. It felt so good to finally be able to talk about this- about everything you and Loki did, because time with Loki was your happy time.
“Okay… I have two questions.” She said, and you nodded, gulping. “Why…Loki? If you wanted to learn magic, why not go to Strange, and why is Loki so willing and…” She didn’t say the word, but you knew what she wanted to say. Fatherly.
“Because when he looks at me, he sees himself.” You admitted. “He told me himself… Loki didn’t have a good relationship either with his father. Thor's the golden child, Loki was the one pushed to the back, forgotten. He knows how it feels to be unwanted, to not be thought of by the person who is supposed to love you. He knows how it feels to want to be loved and no matter how hard you try, not getting it, because in your dad’s eyes, you’re not worth it. He sees me, and he sees his own childhood, and he hates that, so… he decided to do something about it.” You explained to her. “Loki… Loki’s like a dad to me. He certainly acts more like one than Tony.” You pointed out. Pepper looked devastated, but understood. “What was your other question?”
“Inevitably, Tony’s going to find out about this. I won’t tell him, I’ll feign ignorance, but Peter’s going to find out somehow, and you know that even if he wants to protect you, that boy can’t keep a secret to save his life, especially from Tony.” She pointed out. “What’s your game plan for when he finds out?” She asked.
“I’ve already got that figured out.” You reassured her. “Loki set up the bedroom for me for the worst case scenario… I graduate next year. I’ll graduate, start going to college, and I’m going to move out and live with Loki- he might move his apartment to be closer to whatever college I want to go to. If he doesn’t know by then, I’ll tell him I just have a roommate and we know he’s not going to come and visit, and after college, I’ll just slowly drop contact, keep my distance, away from him, happy, learning magic, living my own life. I’ll come visit you and Peter and Happy, regular phone calls, if you need me, call me and I’ll be there… and if Tony finds out before then? I’ll go anyway. I’ll be okay, no matter what. Loki has my back.”
“...And so do I.” She added. You two stared at each other. You weren’t sure what she was thinking, what exactly she was going to do. Ban you from seeing Loki? Tell your father? Treat you like a criminal and monster even if you’ve done nothing wrong? Be locked away? Somehow become even more of an outcast? Lose the few people you actually consider family? Lose Loki? “I won’t keep you waiting. Keep me updated on what you’re doing, if you want to stay the night let me know, okay? I’ll tell Peter something that is easier to swallow and then we’ll tell him the full truth after you graduate. I’ll explain to Happy, maybe he can also help you… please just… don’t do anything stupid. Behave. No more secrets from me, okay?” She asked.
“Okay. Thank you.” You told her, nodding with a grin. “I love you, I’ll see you tomorrow!” You told her, finally opening the door and dashing out. Pepper sighed, wondering what she was going to tell Peter to help keep in calm and not accidentally tell Tony, how she was going to get Happy to go along with this, how she’s going to look Tony in the eyes and feign ignorance, lie to his face about where his son is and who he's with. But then she remembered every time she could recall when she would come to Tony’s place and find you home alone when you were a young child, thinking it was normal, how you used to try to get his attention and him brush you off or even yell at you to go away and then slowly stop trying and instead go to her and Happy who actually cared. She remembered how utterly overjoyed you were when your dad actually came to your birthday after he was kidnapped, seeming to realise how precious life was and wanted to make up for lost time, and things were going well until Peter came into the picture, and he lost his way, his sole focus being Peter, you once again forgotten and neglected. Except this time you weren’t upset, just disappointed. You gave up on him, and instead adjusted, adapted, and found a new family. Pepper was your new mother, Peter was your brother, Happy your uncle, and Loki was your new, and much better father. You were making up for lost time with someone who actually cared and wanted you as a son. If Tony had a problem about it, he should have done something about it a long, long time ago.
You arrived at the apartment complex not long after leaving, heading up to the top floor, going to the door at the end of the hallway and letting yourself in. Loki peeked up from the book he was reading and smiled. “There you are, had me worried.” He joked. You sighed as you kicked your shoes off, dumping your bag on the floor and hanging up your coat. Your lack of an immediate response was weird for Loki, and he placed the book down, standing from the settee, and stepping closer to you. “What happened?” He asked softly, locking his hands behind himself. You turned to look at him finally.
“Is it that obvious?” You asked, and he smiled sadly. “...Pepper knows. She’s covering for me, so I guess she’s okay with it, it’s just… what if Tony finds out and massively blows everything out of proportion?” You explained to him.
“Well…” Loki crossed his arms, thinking. “Knowing you, your first thought is to run and start afresh.” He pointed out, and you nodded. “Or… I could talk to Thor. You and Pepper and him talk to the others, explain everything, we lay everything out, and then we tell your father. No secrets and being honest might work more in our favor than just upping and leaving, Y/N.” He pointed out. You squinted at him with suspicion.
“Aren’t you supposed to be the God of Mischief and Lies?” You asked, making him crack a smile.
“I may be, but it means I also know when’s a good time to actually tell the truth, and I think this might be the time. Pepper knows, she has your back, Thor is, as you describe it, a loyal labrador and will be happy I’m behaving, those two alone can be the brains and the brawl to help keep the situation under control.” He reassured you.
“Okay, if you think so… but can we do that tomorrow? I want to learn that spell so I can finally read your Asguardian books.” You begged, making him chuckle.
“Of course we can, go make some tea, then we’ll start.”
Hope you like it! If you have any questions, please send them in!

Tumblr media
Synopsis: As the wife of Prince Loki of Asgard, you suddenly discover that Odin and Thor are gone. You are made queen and your dear husband is king. But a king needs an heir...
Word Count: 5K
Warnings: SMUT Y'ALL!!! 18+ Breeding Kink and Vanilla P in V sex and dirty talk. Some angst in the beginning but lots of hurt/comfort regarding his discovery about being a Frost Giant. Some married fluff. I use the canon events in Thor 1 but stretch out the timeline because it's my fic and I can do what I want. References to fairy tales because I'm a slut for literary references.
A03//My Ko-Fi//My Etsy Shop//Masterlist//Wattpad
A/N: Since seeing Thor 1 in its completion this has been in my head. I don't usually write for the big man Loki himself too often- but it's a treat to do so! Maybe I will do more of this stuff if I get more ideas! REBLOGS, COMMENTS, DMS, AND ASKS ABOUT MY WORK ARE ALWAYS APPRECIATED! Also, I don't know if Frigga is also Freya the goddess of love and sex in this universe when I wrote this but her character is clearly more FRIGGA than Freya...so yeah...mea culpa

Ta da! Here it is!!)
You had many regrets in your life. But marrying Prince Loki was not one of them.  When he asked you, you threw your arms around him and kissed him repeating one word- “Yes!”
You never regretted the day you wore a jeweled veil and walked down that aisle. You never regretted vowing before all the gods that you were his and he was yours. You never regretted becoming Princess of Asgard. Not if it meant the love of your life could become your husband.
Some whispered that your choice was unusual. That it was the wrong prince. That you should have married Thor. After all, it seemed obvious he was going to be the heir. But things did not happen in your heart the way they did. Thor was jovial and friendly to you. But before your betrothal, he liked you as a sister. No more, no less. Even if Odin commanded it, Thor would object to the match. If Thor learned to reign in his arrogance someday, you thought, he would make a fine lover to some lucky person!
Other than being the most beautiful man you had ever beheld, Loki was intelligent. Full of elegance as well as guile. Well-read, polite, patient, and charming, but could hold his own in any battle. It seemed you were one of the few people who recognized that. That was one of many reasons why he loved you.
You both attended feasts side by side. He would flirt with you even though you were still about a year into marriage.
“Why, it is too bad that such loveliness is sitting by herself tonight! May I have the seat next to her?” Loki would croon as he sat in the chair next to you.
You danced every dance together at balls. You especially loved spending free hours exploring the Asgardian library together. Reading works from all Nine Realms. Sometimes until you both fell asleep by the fireplace. Not to mention his finesse in the bedroom.
Loki confessed of his wedding day nerves to you in private. He feared…displeasing you on your wedding night. But your mutual passion and reverence for each other won over all else. Every time you coupled, you brought each other to Valhalla and back again. You learned about each other’s bodies like studying maps. Each minute of lovemaking was both exploration and worship of each other.
Lately, the two of you were careful. You had your own special tea to drink before or after it happened. At most, he would spill his seed somewhere that wasn’t between your legs. You knew so much was happening. Becoming a parent would put more stress on both of you. Especially considering Odin was about to name his heir.
Though you both did hope someday to have a child. You knew Loki would be a wonderful father and you wanted to be a mother. You wanted a family. You wanted to have a sweet baby (or two) of your own to cuddle and kiss. To hear it laugh when you tickled it. To welcome their first steps with open arms. To watch it grow. To leave your own mark- a person who was both Loki and you.
Now wasn’t the right time, both of you knew it. When you would sigh about it, he would hug you.
“We will wait, my love…time is our friend…” he’d assure you.
There were worse things in life. And you might as well enjoy what you had now before it was too late. You were lucky to have him. Many couples lived happy, long lives together without children. You were fortunate to have a man who you could confide anything to. And he in turn confided all his worries to you.
The ceremony arrived. And it was not Loki who was named heir as he hoped. It was Thor.
As you stood next to Loki, you felt him stiffen. Thor smiled and held up Mjonir as the kingdom cheered for him. Looking at your husband, you took his hand. You heard him take in a deep sigh through his nose.
“I know you wanted it…I’m so sorry…” you whispered to him, rubbing a thumb over his palm.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
One evening when you walked about the garden. The sun was setting and while there was some light, you wanted to admire the roses Frigga grew. Dressed in your golden dress, you knelt to sniff a few red ones. Admiring her work and the peace of the place. You jumped when a guard ran over to you.
“The Prince Loki requests your presence immediately in the castle vaults,” he reported.
Picking up your skirts, you hurried there.
“Loki, where are you? Are you hurt?” you asked as you entered.
He was standing on the steps before the Tesseract’s section. He looked up at the sound of your voice. There were tears in his eyes.
“I…I just spoke with father…” he said.
“What did he say this time?” you asked.
He took a step towards you. More tears fell down his cheeks.
“Y/N…I am so sorry. I shouldn’t have married you, shouldn’t have made you my prisoner…” he said.
Pain curled up in your chest at the words. Their grip tightened your throat and your eyes watered as well as his.
“Prisoner!?! What are you talking about, Loki? You cannot believe every word Odin says! I will talk to him myself right away! How dare he say such cruel things to you! You do deserve me! You do!” you cried.
You reached over to grab his hands and he jerked them back.
“No Asgardian maiden deserves to be sold and made wife to a Frost Giant!” He blurted.
You paused.
“Frost Giant?” you repeated.
All your life you heard whispers of the land of the Frost Giants, or Jotenheim. And they were always violent tales of terror. The large, ice creatures were longtime enemies of your kingdom. It was typical for Thor to boast about how much he would slay if given the chance.
“Stay here…and watch…” Loki instructed.
He put his hand on the Tesseract. Upon contact, his skin turned blue and his eyes red. A frost giant if you ever saw one.
Your eyes widened and you gasped in response, a hand flew over your mouth. Shock made your body lock in place. But you did not turn your eyes from him.
“Oh, Loki!” you cried.
You did not flee. No, you would not. Instead, you ran up and embraced him. He felt cold to the touch. As his hands released the Tesseract you felt him warm up in your arms as his skin turned back to ivory. They curled around your back, and he buried himself in your touch. You felt him shaking. Despite your own surprise, you would not abandon him. Never.
“It’s alright…it’s alright, I’m right here…this is a lot, I know…” you consoled as he cried.
He explained to you that years ago, Odin found an abandoned Frost Giant baby in Jotenheim. He took in the infant to be raised as one of his own. But never telling that young prince the truth about his parentage. Not until an accidental discovery. In a recent battle a Frost Gant touched your husband’s arm, changing your prince’s skin to blue beneath his grip. And blue skin could not lie.
“Do you know what I am, Y/N? I am a monster! That’s who you are married to! A monster!” Loki mourned.
You glanced at the door, then back to him. An idea from a recent library read growing in your head.
“Are you familiar with Midgard Fairy Tales? The ones for children?” you asked.
“No,” he answered.
“You don’t?” you asked.
“Midgard never interested me before…”
Taking him by the hand, you led him back to the library. You found a collection of Midgard Fairy Tales left on your favorite chair. You brought it to him and opened it up, flipping the pages. You then pointed to one story. The first page was illustrated with a ship on the ocean, then a rose, and a grand castle.
“You should read this one right here. It was written years ago by a lady. It is a Midgard Fairy Story called La Belle et La Bete or Beauty and The Beast…” you explained.
Loki took the book. He then flipped the page to see a picture of the eponymous beast.
“I know enough of fairy tales. They’re all the same. There’s some giant or creature who’s always the villain. Kidnapping unwilling maidens and hoarding gold. That is until a prince skewers them. Then there’s great celebration over the killing,” he dismissed.
You placed a hand on the page before he could close it.
“You’re right about one thing. There is a beast in this one…” you continued.
“Oh, and he’s there to do those things so babes will grow up learning to hate me,” Loki complained.
“No! Not in this one he’s not!” you objected.
You turned the page. It showed the Beast smiling with a lady in a rose garden.
“Yes, he is a beast. But do you know what he also is? He is the prince in the story! He might look frightening to some, but beneath it, he is kind and generous! He falls in love and marries a woman who sees that in the end! She doesn’t focus on what makes him monstrous and different- she accepts who he is!”
You set the book down and cupped his face.
 “Because she loves him!”
His jaw dropped, speaking nothing. He leaned into your hand.
“A Frost Giant? Yes. I will learn to adjust to the blue skin…but you are my husband. I could not ask for a better one. And I love you. No matter what…” you said.
He embraced you again and you both cried. Tears of happiness and of sorrow. Blue skin or white. Yellow eyes or blue ones. He was Loki. He was your husband, and you would always stay with him. Besides, it’s what he would have done for you.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
When you went to bed that night, you expected tomorrow to be a day like any other. But instead, you were shaken out of sleep.
“Loki, what is it? It’s too early…” you murmured, half-awake.
You felt your bedside but did not feel the lump of his body.
Wakefulness creeping on you, you saw the guards and a few servants in your bedchambers. You jumped to sit up. You held onto the blankets, your knuckles popping in your grip.
“Where is my husband? Is he alright? What’s going on?” you questioned.
Their eyes were all wide. One servant stepped forward and spoke with gravity.
“The prince Thor is banished. And Odin has fallen into his Odinsleep. Loki is now King of Asgard. And you are it’s Queen.”
It was only four sentences. But it felt like something from a dream. You jolted out of bed to stand. You barely opened your mouth to respond when the servant knelt before you. He took your hand and kissed it in reverence.
“Your highness! Queen of Asgard!” he announced.
All bowed before you in your room.
You expected many things when you married the god of mischief. Just not this! It felt like one of those Midgard Fairytales happening to you.
When you dressed and hurried to your husband in the throne room. You forgot your new role and froze your steps. He sat on a throne, legs deliciously apart. He took up space now. The throne was entirely his and he was going to use every inch of it. He was decked in the robe of a ruler, not a prince destined to wait in the wings all his life. He had power in him, and you had to confess the aura of it was…. doing something for you. Your legs were buckling beneath your dress. There was that infamous, mischievous smile on him. It made you shiver. Already morning and desire swirled inside you. When his head turned to see you, he lit up. He got up from his throne and walked down. Per habit, you curtsied low. Then, placing a finger beneath your chin, he led you to standing. Your sex beneath your legs clenched at the gesture.
He then grabbed you and lifted you up in a hug where your feet didn’t touch the ground.
“Y/N…darling!” he greeted.
He put you down and placed a kiss on your lips.
“But…are you ready to rule? It won’t be easy…” you worried.
“It will not. But at last, think of everything I could do…lead armies…unite kingdoms…”
Even Jotenheim and Asgard if he decreed it so, you noted. You then smiled at him. He was glowing from pride and joy. He took your hand and kissed it.
“If we’re together through this…we can handle it…” he said.
They placed you to stand by his side on the throne.
Frigga entered. She bowed to you. Your own knees bucked a little out of habit. Usually you were the one bowing to her! You walked down to her, taking her shoulders.
“Queen mother…I…I’m speechless! …I don’t know how I could ever be a queen as well as you!” you confessed to her.
She kissed your cheek and gave you a patient smile.
“Don’t worry, I will help you. Day by day, step by step, you will learn how.”
“Thank you…what do I do now?”
“You will be crowned this afternoon. The kingdom will be watching. Look at them, your people. And show them you care…” she advised.
The hour arrived for them all. Swarms of people broke in like a flood to the throne room. You felt every eye as a golden crown was placed on your head and as his familiar helmet was placed on Loki.
Remembering Frigga’s advice, you looked down on them. You allowed a smile to grow on you. You smiled as you heard your name being chanted along with your husband's name.
They cheered and bowed to you. Flags were waved and confetti fell like snow across the palace.  Loki got took your hand and lifted it up before them. They began to cry out.
“Hail the King Loki! Hail the Queen Y/N!”
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
When the sun began to set, a familiar servant ran up to you.
“The King sends his regrets that duties require his immediate attention. He asked for the cooks to go ahead and serve you dinner in his absence,” she announced.
“Thank you,” you replied. An attempt at a regal tone of voice new to you.
The servant bowed and left. She didn’t do that as reverently when you were a mere princess. You ate your dinner alone and then took a rosewater bath right after. You noticed several stray petals floating around in the tub.
Once you finished, you returned to your chambers. It seemed they would stay the same for now. The King’s room was for the Odinsleep. Drying yourself you picked a nightgown. Tonight, it was a white one with a silvery tone to it. It had long sleeves that draped down and had beautiful beading around the bodice. The neckline dipped down to the clasp that secured it. Some might consider it immodest, but it was too beautiful for your resistance. It gave you some very sensual cleavage that you loved (and so would your husband). The skirt then dipped down to the floor, making it feel like a robe, but the material was not so thick that it felt too hot.
If you dressed more like a queen, even at night, you would feel more apt to the role.
What a day it had been. Part of your body ached after such excitement. You sat by your vanity on a cushion. Flowers (including the roses you liked) from the gardens in vases bedecked it. By the candlelight you checked your hair. Sighing in, you relaxed on the seat, admiring the glimpse of the kingdom at night from your curtains. Enjoying a moment of peace.
You then heard his voice outside the door.
“I am now going to bed. Do not disturb us unless there is an emergency,” Loki ordered the servants and guards. Already he was speaking more like a king.
The doors creaked as he opened it and walked inside. Though he was in his own green bedrobes, there was a bounce and urgency to his step. Then he approached you as you sat on the cushion before the vanity. Though his blue eyes did wander hungrily to your low neckline. They then returned up to your face in the mirror’s reflection.
“How is my pretty queen tonight?” he asked.
“I’m good…” you answered.
“Are you tired?” he asked with a tone of concern.
He placed a hand on your shoulder, fingers drumming in anticipation. Was there some old prank he was going to pull that he wanted you to see? What was he going to say?
“Only a little…I’m still taking it in…” you replied.
He embraced you from behind, nuzzling into your neck. You smiled at the contact of feeling his nose against your skin. He smiled as he looked at you in the mirror.
“You always were a queen to me, my dear….” He said.
He kissed your cheek and then lowered his lips to your neck. You smiled, enjoying the increasingly amorous gesture. You felt the tickle of his breath. His soft lips made another kiss in between your neck and clavicle. You melted into it.
“My, Freya has gotten someone enchanted…” you teased.
“It’s not Freya who enchants me…” he husked.
He then turned you around and led you to stand. And laid a desperate kiss on your lips. You wrapped your arms around him. He slid in his tongue. A hand of his crept to hold your back to him. You groaned into it. Already, arousal began its long, sinful climb with its wet signal between your legs. You released lips with a satisfying smack.
“If you continue this, I’ll ring for that tea…” you said.
“No…” he voiced.
“Hmm?”
He held your hands down.
“You won’t need that tea tonight. Or for a while…” he said.
You blinked.
“How come?”
He gave you a smile, looking in your eyes.
“I must tell you…the council has given me much advice. To secure myself as king, there are a few things I can do. Enact laws. Silence any rebellions or refusals. And, since I’m already married...”
He paused.
“Sire an heir.”
You felt your breath stop in your throat. Your eyes widened. His smile went down to a smirk. A glint in his eye as he went to you. His eyes roaming down your exposed chest. His hands wandered down, staring to hike a little of your skirt.
“So, you’re saying…” you stuttered.
“Y/N, I…I need you tonight…tonight…I’ll give you a child, an heir, someone to carry on my reign, and keep me as king…Would you like that?” he asked.
He leaned closer. Wanting to kiss you, then pausing. You could feel his breath just on your lips, making you dizzy. He placed his hips against yours. You felt a moan shudder out of you. Your answer was an easy one.
“Yes, yes I would.”
He swept you up in his arms, strong despite his lean frame.  Your heart raced so hard you felt it would burst out of you. He laid you on the bed then crawled over you. You felt yourself trembling like it was the first time. He cupped your cheek and leaned over to kiss you.
“My queen, my darling…”
You wrapped your arms around him.
“And my Prince made King,” you said back.
Intuitively, he ground his hips on yours. A small shudder went through you, coming out as a sigh. You reached a hand to run it through his hair as he kissed you again. Combing through those dark curls you loved so much. Because they were a part of him. His crown that never left him. You gave him another, harder kiss. He then looked down at your robe. He slid a hand over the beading, over your chest.
“A lady beautiful as you could doesn’t need such …embellishments…” he growled.
He removed his hand to lift it in the air. He flicked it and a green light began at the tips of your toes and then worked its way up your legs and through your body. Your evening robes for sleeping vanished and instead was your skin. He wetted his lips at the sight of your nakedness.
“I’ve longed to see this, to touch you for hours…”
He went up to your bare breasts. You gulped as he began to kiss it. Your back arched on impulse, tensing already. As he worked his way to the center, you felt yourself tensing already. Smiling at the pleasure as he used his tongue, swirling your nipple. Chills ran over you. He released his mouth to whisper.
“I’ve missed your breasts. The shape. The softness. Feeling you…”
He replaced it with his large hand. He gently squeezed and groped both around. You exhaled out another sound coming out of you. Not a polite one.
“Perfection-perfect for my hands. And perfect to nurse my heir…”
He then lowered himself down, kissing your stomach. Tracing your hips. He then kissed your bellybutton, dipping his tongue into the hole of it. Only a symbol of what was next. A delicious forewarning. Preparation. You grew wetter with the feeling of something soft and wet inside a hole of yours.
“Loki…Loki, my dear…husband…” you whimpered.
He held your hips down, tracing it and feeling them again. How they curved up to where they made your waist. His fingers sprawled possessively over your flesh. Then back down to your hips. Looking down, there was a bulge getting bigger against his green robe.
“And these…perfect. Perfect for what I put between them. For my mouth, my fingers, my cock, and my child…”
He pulled his head up, then you put your finger to his lips. Giggling lightly, as did he.
“You talk so much. But you’ve yet to bare yourself too, my love,” you teased.
With a cocky half-smile, all he did was tilt his head. The seidr ran down from the forehead to the toes, and the smooth robe was replaced with his warm skin. He was so beautiful. Every time he took off his clothes, it was everything in you not to stare. He had a broad, ivory chest so large and enveloping. It was like a blanket when you rested your head on them or when he thrust on top of you. You put a hand to explore the crevices, going through the patch of hairs on him. His muscular shoulders, perfect for digging your nails in. His abdominals-both soft and strong. For he was both at the center of his heart as well. Thighs made thick from running, jumping, and everything a warrior did.
He ground against you. His cock, already hard, teased your stomach. He leaned up to kiss your neck in its small soft spot. A hand returning to your breast.
“You will look wonderful engorged with a babe…a child…a part of you that will always be there, a trace of us together.”
“Loki…my dear husband…I love you…” you voiced.
He smiled, inching close.
“And I love you when you’re screaming beneath me…”
With one long, beautiful hand, he took the outside of your legs. He traced his fingers down from thigh to knee. Ghosting against the upper flesh of your skin. As tenderly as if you were the brightest, most precious jewel kept in his treasury. In seas of coins, rubies, and diamonds…it was you, you out of everything else, that mattered to him.
He took his large, beautiful hands and then moved them to the inside of your knees. You bit back a moan, leaning your head into the pillow as you felt it.
Using both his hands, he then spread you apart, wide open. He looked down at you and grinned. He had seen, felt, penetrated, and tasted your pussy like an addict. Always hungry for more. Even if you were poison, he would consider it the sweetest way to die. He placed himself back up. The tip just teasing your entrance. Every nerve inside you screamed. It brushed against you, never plunging in.
“You’re a banquet all for me, my dear…now…are you ready?” he whispered.
“Oh, please…. stop tormenting me… I want a child…and I want you…give me…give me one, Loki…” you begged.
“Let me…let me feel your sweet warmth and take your king’s shaft…” Loki husked.
He plunged into you slowly. Part of you panted through your nose. You felt him climb inside, inch by agonizing inch. This was a ceremony, sacred as any other rite in a royal bedroom. As if everything had to be right. Yet there was beauty-there was divinity. An ecstasy of reaching something otherworldly in between each other’s legs. You let out a loud gasp when he placed all of you inside him. You grabbed onto him.
He then retracted his hips, and he began to thrust into you. Grinding you right into the bed. Writhing as you accepted his largeness like it was new. Each gasp from his breath, each pant from each thrust. You could feel one muscular arm of your husbands touched the headboard, keeping him steady against you. You felt your back and ass slide against the silk sheets. He was slow, but eager.
“Yes…I promised you… when we married…I’d give you-nrgh-I’d give-give you everything-fuck-everything you’d ever want-gods…yes, gods, yes!” he whimpered as he thrusted.
You let out a moan with each thrust, your own breasts bouncing slowly with the movement. He looked down, releasing the hand on the headboard to slap them.
You let out a gasp- “L-Loki-you-you-you beast!”
“I thought you figured that out already, darling…” he whispered with a chuckle.
You felt his other hand wander to touch your back. You writhed under him.  He then slid his hand under his hips guide you up. His strength held you steady. He hit a different angle and you let out a cry-it was deeper, and his cock had found it’s way to your bud. Already sensitive and shaking.
“L-Loki! There! Please! There!”  you begged as he kept thrusting.
“As my queen commands…”
You saw the veins in his neck tightening as he kept on. His black curls messed around him- wild and free. A creature claiming his prize for the night. How beautiful he looked. You returned a hand back up and pulled him down. You kissed him with such fervor as he thrust that he stayed for only a second inside you, pausing, catching a breath. What breath there was, anyway.
Then he picked up the pace slightly. You were starting to see stars. That sweet angle where he got your clit. You felt pleasure rise  in you. Yes, it was arriving. You moved your hands down from his shoulders, down his triangular back. Once you found his soft, perfect ass you pushed him in again.
“Loki I’m…I’m…I’m close…oh norns- I’m…I’m going to cum!” you pleaded.
“So…am I-nrg-Call me king, call me king again and…and…I’ll-I’ll drive you there with me …”
He lowered his voice. Guttural and demanding.
“Call- me- your- king.”
He even got his free hand inside, speeding you up as he too sped up. You felt it-the breaking point.
“Yes-please-my- my king! My king!” you cried.
He let out a shout and you felt his hot seed spurt inside you. Your own climax then broke upon you. Thw words repeated out of you in a whisper.
“My king…my…my…”
It was the climax where it spun inside you. You felt your whole-body lock. Your quim felt as if it was spinning, sputtering with the pleasure. As well as his seed.  You groaned as it washed you down and you felt it. Your eyes teared up. His stayed inside, spurting like mad. Free and plentiful after starvation. A broken dam. He stayed inside. Not wasting one drip of him. You accepted it, every bit of it. Not one drop would go to waste. You felt your body buzz. Vibrating on the inside though you were still. Still except for your own breasts heaving with the breath you caught. You felt him catch his breath on top of you too.
He then cupped your cheek. His curls fell before his face. But his smile and blue eyes glowing from them.
“I couldn’t have asked for better. A better broodmare. A better wife. A better queen by my side…” he said.
Playfully, you went up and kissed the tip of his nose. He grinned at it and then embraced you. Arms flinging around each other. His own sweaty, earthy scent mixed with the rosewater bath you had earlier.
His cock still twitched inside you. Then you felt a final hot release of him and there was no more. He pulled out. Once it left you, you felt a cold space in your quim. Like it was an empty niche, something that needed filling. So much was he a part of you. You reached up your hand to brush his curls back. Seeing his face. Seeing him.
He then went down to your stomach, kissing it.
“I think if it’s a boy…we should call him Tuck…and if it’s a girl...Idona…” you then told him.
He rolled over to lay his head on the pillow. Then he turned over. You hummed at the sight of him- oh Hela, his beautiful profile was art itself!
“And what if we have twins?” he asked.
“I’ll figure it out, later!” you replied with a small laugh.
You placed your head on his chest and looked up and he down.
“I hope you’ve forgiven me for missing dinner…we’ll eat together tomorrow night; I’ll make it up to you…” he said.
“Of course, I forgive you. You had duties of your own…” you whispered.
He then gave a smile with the familiar, delicious darkness in his eyes.
“It might take more than once. We will try for an heir no matter how many times it takes. I’d like to have you on that very table like a meal of my own to devour. And I’ll have you on the library walls. On each rug. On each column. So, rest well…you have several duties of your own tomorrow.”

something i love is how Steve Rogers canonically takes after his mother. both appearance wise and in terms of his ideals
too bad the mcu's powers that be didn't care to explore steve or bucky's backstories beyond catws, or else we could've gotten an actual appearance from Sarah, but that's ok future projects can fix this /copium
but anyways Steve is canonical Momma's Boy, I wish marvel would remember lol
now if only marvel could also remember that Bucky Barnes is a protector and steve's guardian angel with a shotgun (or i guess sniper rifle, during the war)
cuz if marvel did then they could be genius and retroactively give us flashbacks/scenes in the past that put Bucky back there with little Steve and show interactions between Bucky and Sarah and have Steve's mom thank him for looking out for her fighter of a son, and also retroactively include scenes of Bucky's family reacting to their kid choosing to pick up the disabled little bullied Irish kid and decide he must protect hehe
there's too much good shit there that sets up the true nature of Bucky and Steve's friendship, which i feel like marvel writers kinda forgot over the years and replaced it with caricature-ish flat understanding of both Bucky and Steve, so such scenes would be good to remind writers and the audience of why they've been caring about each other and give insight into their parents
Am I the only one who gets the vibe that, quite apart from wanting to unravel any plot-threads which undermine the specialness to Steve of the Token Female they bothered to put in the Cap movies... they don't want Steve to be a Mammy's Boy, cuz they see that as less acceptably manly and cool?
Like: Tony is allowed to obsess over what his dad thought of him, across multiple movies (and ditto what the Odinson boys thought of Odin's opinion of them) but mothers only matter if, and only while, they're being fridged?
Ditto with Bucky's mother too, now I think about it (at least his dad also gets zero mention or exposure). And it would be so sweet and easy to have flashbacks of kid Steve and Bucky -- it would even save them the hassle of having to pay for the adult stars, to film!
Also can you imagine kid-Bucky, already a worrier, asking Sarah what Steve's dad died of and finding out he died from having bad lungs and this just unlocking a whole new level of nightmares for him about Steve and his 'fuck you imma fight everyone in this dirty dank alleyway with bad air' attitude. 😩
I absolutely 100% headcanon Bucky and Sarah as having a whole unspoken language between them, as the only two people on earth who get Steve. I always imagined there would be a whole series of private memories -- moments of non-verbal communication between him and her -- which even Steve himself wasn't privy to.

thor x gn!reader [gow: r]
a request from lovely anon: Could I ask for some (GOW) Thor fluff? Perhaps the (GN) reader standing up for Thor when Odin is being a dick to him?? I just feel he hasn’t heard one good word about himself in a long time. I think he needs it. [thanks for the request! I feel so fluffy while writing this. I hope you and all of u will like it! enjoy.]
tags: fluff, gentle!thor, odin is a bad dad (f him), kissing, touching, lap sitting, hugging.
Tumblr media
thor never know that he needed you.
he was a powerful god, the god of thunder, who can kill a hundred men in a single fight. he didn't need anyone to protect him was something he thought but no, you were there, and he saw how he needed you, to protect him. yes, he can easily kill punch of people, creatures and even gods but whenever all father, odin, talk with him, thor becomes weaker. not as physically, but mentally. because of the attitude odin give to him, thor feels dumber and weaker. odin keep his cruel attitude without even thinking about its consequences on thor, how his son feels sad even if he wants to deny it. he even couldn't see it in the first place when you told him how he needed a good treatment, how he deserved one.
but you knew how he would keep saying it was okay but no, it wasn't. it wasn't okay at all. yes, you would give him all the love and affection you have but he needed to be seen by his own father too. odin has to treat him the way he treat to heimdall. he wasn't good at parenting, clearly, but at least he acknowledged heimdall and he had to acknowledge thor either.
so, when odin said, "It's really sad, you know." he took a deep breath, a dissatisfied one, "How I expected too much from you." you felt a great anger on you.
thor looked to other side, not entirely understanding odin's tone, how he make thor lower than him. he sent thor for doing his dirty job in other realm, then, he began to talk how he failed the mission he gave to him without noticing his tone. he didn't give care to the way he talked. he didn't think thor was his son, not his lapdog or someone he could blame for not doing his dirty jobs right. so, you felt too angry about all of this. and suddenly, your mouth took action before your mind.
"why are you doing this?" you asked, poison filled in your voice. "he did nothing wrong. he even got damage in there because of the mission you sent him to."
thor's lovely blue eyes looked at your angry face in shock. yes, you spoke with odin about the way he treated thor but he never see you this angry before. you were like you wanted to fight with odin. so, he came to your side, standing beside you, he said, "It's okay."
you looked at that beautiful face of him, feeling even sadder and angrier because of the love you had. how you wanted to take him far away from odin just to hug him and say how much you love him.
but now, you needed to let it go.
"no, it's not okay!" you turned to odin who was listening you while standing behind his huge desk, looking annoyed because of your sudden blow. "you need to reconsider something. he is your son."
he furrowed, looking both you and thor, judgement on his face, "I recommend you to be careful the way you talk with me young lady." he said, gently, not threatening you at all but you knew he felt so irritated right now. but you weren't someone who could take back what you said, thor needed to be protected.
"I maybe reconsider the way I talk with you when you begin to acknowledge him." you put your palms on the surface of the desk, kneeling closer to him. "Don't think I am someone who has fears of gods."
He smiled, like a father like smile, trying to look nice, like he did nothing wrong. "I can see that." he looked at thor who was holding you by your arms to leave this place. you knew how he felt right now; so vulnerable.
"You picked a good one. She is brave."
thor who stayed silent for a certain time, looked at odin in a way you couldn't describe. however, being father of him, odin knew his gestures better and he said, "no, no. it's a compliment. not a treat."
trying to go back to the topic you started, you said, "We should leave to take care his wounds that caused by the mission you sent. Then, we will have this conversation again."
as you promised, you looked at thor, pointing the door. he moved to leave the room with you, holding you from the waist, gently contrast to his physical power. he always showed you his gentle and delicate side and the moment you left the room, entered your special one, you turned to him.
opening your smaller arms, you hugged his lower chest, "I am sorry." you said, breaking the hug, "I just -"
he took one of your hand, kissed it, making you feel his warm lips on your skin. "I know." he said, looking both sad and happy. "And I am glad. Even if I have lack of actions to show it."
you smiled, kissing his cheek, "You don't need to say anything. I know." then, you pointed to chair to him. his wounds weren't serious but he needed a treatment which you would do gladly. "Sit down. I will take care of you."
he smiled, showing it only around you, showing his real feelings. "I am glad, my love."
taking some medical supplies from closet, you turned to him just to see his blue eyes traveling on your body from head to toe, looking so cute and hot at the same time.
feeling shy, you tried to say, "Thor -"
"What?" he asked, opening his arms for you, pointing his lap for you to sit. "Come."
obeying his wish, you sat down on his huge laps only to feel so small because of his massive body. "I don't need them." he said, pointing to medic you had on your hands, "I need you. Only you. I know I am not very intelligent but -"
"Hey!" you said, putting one of your arms to his shoulder and other to his chest, touching them gently. "No one, even you, can not call yourself unintelligent. Using your heart doesn't mean you are what he called you as. You are Thor, my love, and the God of Thunder who is loved and worshipped by others. So, don't even think about the things he told you. He is wrong." you kissed his lips, taking your time. "You are so much more.  Believe me."
"I do." he said, caressing your hair, "I am glad you are here."
smiling, you say, "I always will."
END.

Hello hello!
I’m sorry if this is a bother, and ignore this if you can’t answer right now; but in regards to the RoR family-, one thing always made me think.
How did Y/N end up with them?
Like, what were the circumstances that caused both the gods and the humans to settle their differences and adopt a child? Which side extended the offer first?? How did the child even end up in heaven???
I absolutely love your fics and hope both sides of your pillow are cold tonight ❤️
-You were a young child, only three, when you awoke in Valhalla, you remember your family, they were bad people who always hurt you, always yelling.
-You had tried to hide when they started yelling, but they found you.
-This place was unknown to you, beautiful buildings all around, trees and flowers, warm sunshine, it was so beautiful.
-The Valkyries were the first to find you, Thrud getting to you first, as they had seen you fighting to survive, and using their choice for warriors, they called you to Valhalla, as you had fallen in battle, one that nobody as young as you should ever have to fight.
-Your wounds were taken care of and you got a hot bath and as much food as you wanted, the Valkyries couldn’t help but coo at your stuffed cheeks, you looked just like a chipmunk!
-When Odin came to investigate why a child was chosen and not a warrior, his gaze hardened immediately, seeing the wounds on your little body. You were still a toddler!
-The energy that surrounded him scared you, as he was furious, seeing someone so young and defenseless losing their life in such a way.
-Odin reported your tale to the other gods, holding you in his arms, the Valkyries all behind him, and the gods were instantly in an uproar, seeing how little you were.
-You had never met so many people at once, getting hugs and some kisses on your forehead and cheek from so many different people.
-Brunnhilde summoned Adam and Eve to assist with raising you and Eve instantly loved you, twirling you around and making you squeal with delight while Adam was just as furious to learn about the situation you had come from.
-There was something about you that pulled everyone towards you, humans, Valkyries and gods, they all felt a sense of drive to protect you, to raise you, keep you safe.
-You were amazed to find a new, massive family in this new place, getting mothers, big sisters, big brothers, fathers, and two grandpa figures almost instantly, but you weren’t complaining as you were being smothered in so much love, being treated so gently, that after a few weeks, you could only think of your previous family as monsters in a bad dream you had.
-Speaking of your actual parents, many were ready and willing to deliver Divine Punishment, some a bit more enthusiastically than others, like Loki, Adam, and Brunnhilde.
-For you, and only those around you, the gods and humans were willing to put aside their differences, for your happiness. Those you called family were the only ones tolerated, to a point, snark and sass and a few fights were common, but nothing serious, as they didn’t want to upset you.
-Your new family was willing to give you the world, to keep you happy and safe from here on out, no questions asked.

Does you actllty like odin because I thought everyone hated him.
...Why would people hate him? I struggle to understand that, even now. I have my theories, which I've spoken off in other places.
I think, and I don't like to say this, because there are certainly takes that aren't, but in general, that opinion is very juvenile. There's a desire to want to 'defend and protect' people from him, which betrays a lack of understanding of the dynamics in the films, and a tendency to side with children over adults, even grown children, and to see older people as symbolic of institutional power, as well as parental power, over them, and therefore a yoke that needs throwing off. There's a childish 'shut up, DAD!' to the criticism. More seriously, the desire to paint him as abusive reminds me of the problem of people confusing conflict for abuse, something that's a major issue in online spaces and real life. Outrage and extremism are rewarded and sought after, so everything is heightened. In that lens, a father who tried to do right by his children but who was in a unique circumstance because of his desire to challenge the status quo and fated enmity of two warrring peoples, a king who can't put the needs of his children over the suffering of his people and risk to his kingdom, now becomes a monster who delights in playing favourites and abusing them for kicks. It's disheartening.
There's precious little sympathy for characters like him, especially in this genre. Superhero fare is pretty black and white, and even characters like Loki rest pretty firmly in the 'good' side of that. But Odin is that rare character who not only doesn't play by that simple dichotomy, he doesn't get to live in a world so neatly divided. It's part of his isolation from the others. So usually, people see the gray and decide he must not be 'good', and if he's not 'good', he must be 'bad'.
The films have little time to explore him or his motivations or how he chooses to navigate his murky situation, and it's all the worse because he's a secretive person who actively disguises his motivations and goals. He's a minor character in screen time, but looms large over the plot and other characters' motivations, so most of what we see of him is what other people tell us he is. Most of which is, of course, untrue. That's the Odin that lives in their heads, and not the actual man, who is the rare character in the MCU you actually have to watch and pay attention to to understand. In universe, no-one bothers to do that - they are content with the version they've created to hate. So the audience thinks that version is also the real one, because it's easier to understand and categorize.
I love Odin, in mythology, and in the MCU. He's a much kinder person in the MCU for sure! But I'm glad that, even in a fairly straightforward world, they gave Odin no clear answers. He remains contradictory and deeply flawed, a thoroughly miserable person but with something compelling him to try and change the destined end of the world. How could I not love someone like that? How could people who say they like Loki not like a character who is so similar?
I get depressed when I encounter Odin haters. I feel like they've completely misunderstood and missed out on a fundamental part of the story, and I worry that if their sentiments infect the actual MCU, it will besmirch the efforts of those who came before and the humane story I fell in love with. Odin was not intended to be a bad parent or a bad person, and I don't think he is. He is intended to be someone that people IN UNIVERSE see as a full villain or as a full hero, but he is neither. He is a person who was faced with difficult choices, and he chose to do some radical things that many others of his kind would never do. He paved the way for a better future and better choices for others by defying the prejudices and traditions of his people, but because he was a trailblazer, he did not have the benefit of learning from others' examples, like Thor and Loki have because of him.
Comparing him to Thanos or other actually abusive parents is repellant. Never once have I seen anyone who claims to hate him actually engage with the character as depicted, nor how they would cut through the Gordian Knot of compromises the character had to contend with. They handwave away the moral questions as 'actually super easy to solve', which is something I abhor in fiction (it's also why I deeply dislike Spider-Man: NWH, which handwaves away the motivations and tragedies of villains from previous series). No, nothing was easy to solve about the choices presented to Odin, and I think the character had both logical and emotional rationale for his choices. He actually made pretty bold and forward-thinking plans, they just all tend to suffer from his fatal flaw - he thinks about them as logical, but they're really motivated by emotion that he keeps at arm's length, which leads to him showing vulnerability and being punished for it.
This is something that goes by so fast in the films, but I loved it because it is such a fundamentally male experience. Odin is someone being crushed under pretty much every expectation of masculinity, from man to warrior to father to husband to king, and whenever he tries to show regret, fallibility or vulnerability, the other characters find it disturbing and swiftly reject him, forcing him back into the performance and the misery that comes with it.
Odin may ponder what is the correct decision, but does not mistake that for what is the most moral decision. He is someone who is both logical and emotional but who hasn't integrated those two halves of himself together very well.
If you hate the character, I'd be happy to talk about it. It is okay to just not like characters! Including gray ones. But for me, I can really think about Odin, and I like that he can't be easily written up for a bland Fandom page that requires everything be spelled out or it 'doesn't count'. He exists in the between spaces of the story, and it is a very sad and lonely tale.
TL;DR : He's a complicated man in a simple story. In the Squid Game of Sugar Cookie, he got the Umbrella. I am sad that such a fundamental character to the foundation of the THOR franchise's quality and themes is so misunderstood and unappreciated by this fandom. I don't think you can love this franchise and not have some care for Odin.

Remembering my first time playing oot as a kid and hearing about the heroes of legend, those who had used the master sword before. And because I wasn't part of the larger community, no internet etc, I didn't know I was supposed to think of the other zelda games.
My theory was that every zelda game took place simultaneously across an infinite sea of parallel worlds, and each link could reach out and witness the other adventures alongside their own. I thought of them as different facets of the same soul, which turned out to be true enough, I suppose XD.
But I also thought the master sword was too simple a name and design, too overarching to not, similarly, be a culmination of different aspects, referencing different swords from real world myth and legend.
I remember I believed past heroes referred to people like King Authur, like Odin, like Hercules and Theseus and Achillies, like legendary samurai and kings under hills and travelling swordsmen and ladies lost to time.
And now, this small child, this little backwater kid my age was going to take up that mantle, join the ranks of heroes unsung, perform great feats in forgotten temples and save the suffering kingdom, here and gone, to slip back to home and safety upon journey's end, the kid with a hero's story and a precious, gleeful secret. That was how a lot of stories go, when they're targeted at little kids. Save the fairy kingdom from the bad pixie and run back to your parents before they wonder too long where you've been.
The direction Nintendo ended up going with making a canon timeline and destroying the mystery of how it all began (tho SS is amazing) takes a lot of the fable, the secrecy, the hushed gleam in the eye of it. But I still love it. For older players, it's another turn of the cycle, the new and old mixing into something unrecognisable and yet so familiar.
For new players, for children, the creator truly captured that feeling of stepping into another world behind your own, shifting ivy aside with your dirt scuffed hand, the feeling of wonder welling up inside as you step into the sunbeams of a brand new horizon where everything they told you about magic is true. The feeling of becoming something greater than the sum of your parts, of hearing a thousand silent voices at your back, of meeting equal with the legend, of being good for the sake of it and being rewarded with making a thousand memories, a thousand experiences beyond your wildest dreams.
Of, at the end of it all, being rewarded with the privacy and peace you really wanted, not being forced to perform nice for rude adults and go on stage to accept your little trophies. Something to cradle in your heart and smile secretive smiles, to be true to yourself, to always have that little something extra, something adults will never notice but you know. You know, and you will never breathe a word of that beautiful, magical world, because it's just. For. You.
I suppose that's always why I've liked the epilogue of a zelda game, the Links all choosing to close the loop, to return the master sword and return to their peaceful lives. To fulfil your purpose. To become everything they said you'd be and more. To go home, and your enemies don't follow.
The adults doubt your magic, but you don't. Not anymore.

"Do you really think she's going to be fine?" Y/N asked, biting her lip nervously. Her gaze was fixated on the small baby girl, who slept peacefully in the baby car seat; pink dummy in her mouth. "Darling..." Loki began, stepping over to his wife and placing both his hands on her shoulders, giving them a reassuring squeeze. "I promise you, Ella will be perfectly fine. The Bifrost is not going to harm her. Trust me." The young woman inhaled deeply, but gave her Prince a soft smile. "Have I ever not trusted you, Lokes?" "Have I ever given you a reason to not trust me?" The cunning Trickster winked with a smirk. Y/N rolled her eyes playfully at his repartee. "No." His hands travelled up to cup her cheeks, "See?" before he dipped his head to press a soft kiss on her lips. "Shall we leave then? I bet my parents are expecting us already." Y/N nodded, "Yes. Let's go." and grabbed Ella's changing bag, while Loki squatted down in front of the baby car seat, carefully unbuckling the straps, which secured her. Loki already felt bad for what he was about to do, but it was better that way... He slipped his hands underneath Ella's small body and lifted her up - what caused her to slightly stir already. Loki held her with one arm and bounced her gently up and down in order to somehow wake her up. They had both agreed, that it was probably for the best, if Ella was awake for her first proper travel experience with the Bifrost - not to irritate her or something.
Her face contorted in her sleep, a frown spreading on her forehead. "Come one, baby girl, wake up." He stroked her cheeks in addition and pinched softly - not to hurt her, her tiny feet, which were wrapped up in the footsies of the white, pink rompers she wore. That caused her to finally wake up, big blue eyes fluttering open. On an instant, the small girl started to whimper and whine, causing the dummy to fall from her mouth on Loki's arm. "I know, princess, I know..." Loki whispered, pressing small kisses on her head. "Daddy is so sorry, but it's better that way..." Those words didn't seem to reassure Ella. She was still upset that her sleep has been so rudely interrupted; small cries leaving her pouty lips. Not even a kiss from her mama could help... Loki grabbed with his free hand the baby car seat, continuously bouncing Ella on his other arm, trying to calm her down. "Ready, love?" Loki asked, looking compassionately at Y/N, knowing that she had been quite a bit anxious about that. Also, because the Bifrost made her throw up most of the times... "Yeah." "Alright. Hold on to me?" The Y/H/C haired woman nodded once again and wrapped her arms around Loki's waist, changing bag slung over her shoulder. The prince looked up at the ceiling. "Heimdall? We are rea-" He couldn't even finish his sentence, before the familiar rainbow light swallowed them whole. While Y/N let out a squeal and held on to her husband for dear life, Ella had stopped her crying, surprised by the sudden change of her surroundings. She looked around, before her wide blue eyes met her father's identical ones, tiny mouth agape. Loki smiled at his daughter, witnessed how her confusion turned into fascination. No second later, the tiny girl started to giggle, looking around in awe, watching how the rainbow lights danced in front of her eyes. Unfortunately, it was over very soon, as Loki and Y/N felt the Asgardian ground beneath their feet. "Oh gods, not again..." Groaned the woman, immediately turning away from her God to, well... Throw up. What else?
"Every time..." She whined, turning back, only to see Loki smiling amusingly. "Stop laughing! That's not funny!" Y/N slapped his arm. "I'm sorry, darling." Loki quickly apologised and kissed her. "But... Look! Ella's fine! She even had her fun. Giggled through the whole travel, right princess?" He teased Y/N a bit, kissing Ella on her head again. "You're being mean." Loki chuckled. "No, I am not." She crossed her arms over her chest. "Yes, you are." "No, I am not. I just stated the facts." Y/N pouted. "I love you. Now come on." He reached out his hand for Y/N to take. She sighed, but of course, took it. "Love you too, you cheeky, mischievous scamp." This caused Loki to chuckle again.
Together they made their way to the palace, passing by Heimdall, of course. "Heimdall." The raven-haired man greeted him with a nod. "Prince Loki, Princess Y/N... The carriage awaits you." He took a small bow and smiled at the couple. It was the third time for Y/N that she had the privilege to enter one of Asgards golden carriages, drawn by two white horses - and she was still totally enchanted by it, feeling like the princess she actually was. For Ella, it was the first time. Okay, strictly speaking it was her second time, but Y/N didn't count the one time when she had been pregnant. Loki handed Ella over to her mother and turned to open the golden door of the carriage for his girls, being the charming gentleman he was. "My princesses..." He said with a smile, gesturing inside the carriage. Y/N giggled and curtsied, "Thank you, my prince." before she climbed inside. Loki followed after, baby car seat in hands. When they were all seated properly, the carriage set into motion. Y/N couldn't help the giddy feeling inside her. She still quite couldn't grasp after all those years that she was practically speaking royalty. And yet she looked so 'Midgardian' - as Loki would put it. A normal summer dress and ballerinas. She suppressed a giggle. "What is it, love?" Loki asked, an amused smile on his face. "Nothing, babe. It's just... I still can't believe I am a princess and looking so... normal." He chuckled. "Well, I am not better, am I?" "You are. You're at least wearing a shirt and suit trousers." They had a laugh together, while Ella was in Y/N's lap, dummy back in her mouth and already half asleep again. "Seems like riding a carriage lulls her to sleep." Loki stated, smiling down at the baby girl. "Seems so, yeah..."
Once they had reached the big, spacious, golden palace of Asgard, they went straight for the gardens, where they had been already awaited for tea-time…
"Mother." Loki smiled, when he approached the golden garden table, at which Frigga sat, seemingly enjoying the sun on her skin. The prince's voice caught her attention, of course and Frigga stood immediately up, meeting her son on the way. "Loki." The Queen smiled and wrapped him up in a big hug. "Hello, mother." Y/N stood behind, watched with a smile. Her heart clenched at the sight. She adored the deep bond Loki shared with Frigga. Ella was in her arms, cooing away softly, still on the verge of entering the world of dreams. After Frigga had greeted Loki, she moved past him towards her daughter-in-law and granddaughter. "Y/N, my dear." The two women hugged each other carefully, not to hurt Ella. "Hey, Frigga." "It's so great to see you again, dear. It's been a while..." That was true. Frigga had lastly seen her and Ella in the days after the birth. "That's quite right... I am sorry that we are just now come to visit." Frigga shook immediately her head. "Please don't apologise. It's alright. I understand that you wanted to wait until Ella is a bit older to travel with the Bifrost and take her with you. Thor and Jane did the same with Eisa, didn't they tell you?" "No. We talked about a lot but not about the obvious." Y/N said, giggling softly. "Thank you for understanding." "Of course!" An adorable coo from Ella, attracted immediately Frigga's attention. She looked down, smiling. "Oh, hello, my sweet little princess!" Ella looked up at her grandmother, smiling, despite the dummy in her mouth. "May I hold her?" Y/N nodded, "Of course!" and handed the baby over. "She has grown so much..." Stated the queen. "But she still looks like her father." Her gaze wandered to Loki, who held a smile on his face as well. They exchanged a look who spoke more than words could do. The proudness, love and happiness in Frigga's eyes...
"Speaking of fathers... Where is the Allfather?" The God asked. "He had been delayed beforehand and had to do something important. But he should be here soon." Loki nodded and thought for a moment. "Do you know where he is?" "In our chambers, I think." Another beat of silence passed. "Mother, may I have Ella back? I'd like to... Go to him and, uh, do this alone." He gazed at his wife. "Y/N, darling, is that alright? I-I feel like I have to do this alone." Y/N smiled and stepped closer, taking his hand in hers, giving it a squeeze. "It's okay. I know how important this is for you." She kissed him softly, before releasing his hand. "Thank you." He whispered, before taking his daughter in his arms. "Mother, I-" Frigga just nodded and gave him a reassuring smile. "I know." See, it wasn't the first time Frigga saw her granddaughter... But it was the first time Odin would meet Ella. At the time of the birth, he hadn't been in Asgard. An important negotiation had forced him to make his way to Vanaheim that week and causing him to miss Ella's birth. The queen cupped her son's cheek. "Go to him." He nodded and made his way back inside the palace.
Loki's and Odin's father-son relationship hadn't always been the best - let's put it that way. There were difficult times and quite a lot of troubles they went through. Loki's heritage for example. Or that Thor had always been preferred over him by Odin. Luckily, they overcame those obstacles - together as a family and since Loki had Y/N in his life, everything had turned to the better for him anyway. By now, Odin and Loki's bond was stable. Not as deep as Loki's and Frigga's, but it was there. Loki had stopped proving to his father that he could be as good as his older brother or better and started to just be himself. He learned to accept his Jotun form; learned that a throne wasn't the glorious purpose he was looking for. His family was - and that was one reason why it was so important for the prince to have this upcoming moment with his father alone. Loki had grown, was more a man than he ever was before. He was a husband. A father. He had found the meaning of his life, without a doubt.
"Father?" Loki said after taking a deep breath, knocking at the big, pretentious door of his parent's chambers. The door got opened by a guard. "Prince Loki." He bowed. "Is my father...? Can I...?" Loki stammered, quite a bit nervous. Why was he nervous? "I'll ask the king." With those words, the guard disappeared again. Ella seemed to feel her father's nervosity. She started to whimper, tiny feet kicking against Loki's arm. "Hey, p, don't cry. Shhh, it's okay." He started to rock her gently, peppering small kisses on her chubby cheeks. "Your daddy is just a bit nervous, 'cause you're going to meet his daddy." To hear her father's calming voice seemed to reassure Ella a bit again and she got quieter. Moments later, the guard returned. "The king would like to see you." The guard stepped aside, granting Loki access. Odin stood on the majestically balcony, looking over his kingdom. Of course, he heard his son's approaching steps. "My apologies, son. I'd have loved to join you, Y/N and my wife sooner, but there was this incident I needed to take care of and-" By now, Odin had turned around and froze immediately mid-sentence, when he saw Loki standing only a few steps behind him, with a soft smile on his face - and his granddaughter in his arms. A shaking breath left the older man's lips. "Son, is that...?" Loki nodded quickly, "Father... Meet Ella - your granddaughter." and stepped closer, so that Odin was able to see her properly. Big blue eyes, meeting his eye. The tiny girl looked up at the other man in awe. It was a face she had never seen before. So, they just stared at each other. Was the Allfather... speechless? "Would you... Would you like to hold her?" Loki asked, quite a bit clumsily. Odin just nodded without saying a word. A few seconds later was Ella in his arms, eyes still locked on the older man she didn't know. It took her a few moments to feel comfortable, knowing that she was safe and that nothing was happening to her. Maybe she sensed that Odin was her grandfather? The familiarity? Ella started to smile and coo softly, reaching up her tiny hand to touch the Allfather's cheek and beard. It was a heart-warming moment. Loki felt it, saw the adoration in his father's eye - and was that a tear, rolling down the old man's face? The young God's heart threatened to break through his ribcage, it was beating that fast. Once Odin was able to tear his eye away from the small baby girl, he immediately looked at his son. "She is absolutely beautiful." He said with a smile, before he reached out and placed a hand on Loki's shoulder. "I am so proud of you, my son. Now you understand the true meaning of life. Protecting and caring for this small creature in my arms. Look, how far you've come. You're not the man you've been all those years ago. You found love, have a wonderful woman by your side and now you're a father. You are wiser, stronger and much more mature. Better... You are happier. I couldn't be prouder as I am now, in this moment." Odin smiled - genuinely, proudly and patted his son's shoulder. Loki couldn't believe his ears, had to suppress the upcoming tears. His father never said something like this before - and it made the young God incredibly happy. It meant a lot to him. "Thank you, father." The Allfather nodded and patted Loki's shoulder again. "Now let's join our women. I'm sure they are awaiting us already. It's tea-time after all." He watched his father turn around and leave, Ella still happily gurgling in his arms. Loki smiled. What more could he want for his life?

Rosebird Parents Theory Masterpost
Tumblr media
aka; Raven Branwen is Ruby’s real Daddy, aka; Ruby is actually Summer’s and Raven’s magic lesbian lovechild.
So I thought it was about time I actually compiled a proper consolidated list of the numerous discussions, explorations, ruminations and half-crazed rants I’ve done on this theory. In case anyone wants to see the full... scope of it all.
(Assembled in chronological order of original posting)
The shitpost that got me started down this rabbit hole.
“Raven the Deadbeat Dad” (first proper theory-post I ever did on the subject)
“When a Crazy Theory just keeps seeming more crazily plausible...” (holy shit I found actual EVIDENCE to this?!)
“Back on this Hot bit of Crazy...” (analyzing the ONE time Ruby and Raven have spoken on screen. Plus some musings on Cinder.)
Reading Between the Lines of just how LITTLE Yang and Ruby actually KNOW about their family (Remember how Summer, Qrow and Tai didn’t even TELL Yang that Raven was her mother until AFTER Summer ‘died’?)
A Rant about realizing that Character Designs are NOT accidental. (Holy shit, CRWBY had to have CHOSEN to make Raven look like she does...)
Why Taiyang is still Ruby’s Father (hey remember how we all agree that Summer is ALSO Yang’s mom?)
Reading Between the Lines of The Warrior in the Woods (has anyone ever thought about how much we ACTUALLY KNOW about the relationship between Summer, Raven and Tai?)
Yes, I do in fact know this all sounds crazy. (It’s not my fault is KEEPS MAKING SO MUCH SENSE!)
A funny little detail about Ruby, Summer and Raven... (Hey remember how this show is so obsessed with color-theory that just about EVERY character is named for a color in some way?)
A theory on how Raven could have knocked up Summer (AKA how it would actually be pretty fitting for Ruby to be a Rosebird magical lesbian lovechild...)
A short rambling/reaction to Summer’s official design (REMEMBER WHAT I SAID ABOUT ‘SAME THREE COLORS’?!!!)
Another brief rambling/reaction to the show giving us Summer and Raven mysteriously running off together before cutting back to Ruby.
Why Taiyang is STILL Ruby’s Father (and why it’s kind of hilariously irrelevant as an argument/point against Raven being Ruby’s secret deadbeat dad)
Why Tai and Qrow would hide Raven being Ruby’s dad (AKA, You know how adults in RWBY have a BAD HABIT of hiding really important shit from their kids?)
An In-Depth Analysis of the Interpersonal Relationships of Team STRQ (and why Rosebird is DEFINITELY a thing)
Why Rosebird Parents actually plays in a LOT of classic fantasy tropes (and how Raven has a surprising amount in common with a certain Star Wars character...)
(Supplementary Material not directly about Rosebird but related nonetheless)
Summer and the Crown (a theory on just WHY Summer went after Salem alone, and how Raven knows so much.)
The Disappearance of Raven SadEdgyBirdMom (theorizing on the REAL reason Raven left and why the reasons she’s given are probably bullshit)
Not the Bird You’re Thinking of... (analyzing the parallels between Team STRQ and Team RWBY and why Raven ISN’T her teams equivalent to Blake)
NtBYTo supplemental (Team STRQ is the ‘Disaster Team RWBY’)
Why the Vacuo arc is going to be VERY important to Ruby and Yang (or why the STRQ family reunion is going to be MESSY...)
The Ravens’ Odin (aka; how Ruby possibly/probably being an allusion to the norse god Odin can tie into all this)
An observation on the fact that only RUBY got to see the vision of Summer leaving with Raven... (hey look, a plot hook for RUBY to track down RAVEN)
Analyzing the fandom’s perception of the Summer-Raven-Tai relationship (and why we should probably be questioning just about EVERYTHING we learned about them from Yang...)
(Additional material to be added.)

Declaration of love
Loki X reader no pronouns used
Summary: in which Loki seeks you out for comfort after a bad day
A/N: I quite like how this turned out :)
Tumblr media
Loki had never had the full constant support of both his parents, his mother of course, but Odin not so much. He was always teetering on the edge of his father barely passing a glance at him, or berating him for everything he was doing. With his ‘friends’, who were truly only Thors friends, they always thought him up to no good. Granted he usually was, but he wouldn’t really call it no good rather simple mischief. Harmless pranks that he found cured his near insatiable boredom, but they never found it funny. They always dismissed him with a scoff, even when he would magic up something he thought they’d like. He had no one that was solely on his side and not his brothers, someone that wasn’t trying to keep in favor with both of them.
Except you of course. You, a humble, Nobel servant in the Palace of Asgard who had taken up the role of being Loki’s personal servant when nobody else had wanted to. Others had been lining up at the door to be Thors, but Loki’s? You were the only one. You had been loyal to him in a way he had never known, you were there not only to clean his chambers and make sure he ate when he was cooped up studying his magic, but you were there when everyone was against him. You were the one person rooting for him.
And Loki was no fool, he saw how intensely loyal you were. How you’d defend him when people asked why you chose to take care of someone so morally ambiguous. You’d never hesitate to speak your mind.
“He is not evil” you’d say calmly “simply misunderstood. If you all saw him as I do…why you’d be just as enamored” there was a fond smile playing at your lips, a smile that hinted at more than simple admiration. But you wouldn’t admit that, you were happy enough to be with him like this. To be the person he’d go to when he needed reassurance or a simple compliment. You were fine with the way your friendship was.
And you figured he felt the same, actually you figured he didn’t think much about it at all. In your head he viewed you as a simple servant and an occasional confidant, nothing more. Oh how wrong you were.
Loki hadn’t had the best of days. His father had gotten into it with him again about how he needed to focus less on magic practices and more on his hand to hand combat skills, the argument had ended in another fit of rage with neither parties talking it through and storming off instead. He tried pulling a simple prank on Thor to ease his frayed nerves, and instead of a little amusement he got the warriors three to reprimand him for pulling such insolent acts. However, that wasn’t what finally set him off, what finally set him off was the fact that he hadn’t seen you once all day. He’d gotten up early to get some studying in, missing his usual morning wake up call from you, then he’d skipped lunch all together after his argument with Odin as he’d been too angry to think about eating, and after missing dinner to set up his prank he was utterly starved of your attention.
As he walked into his chambers, he saw you neatly folding and putting away a recently watched batch of his clothing. He felt his breath fill his lungs again, a little smile tugging at the corners of his lips as you turned to greet him.
“Evening, my prince” you’d bow politely, ever so blessed to be graced with his presence.
“No need for formalities. We’re friends are we not”
“I like to think so” you’d reply as you hung up the last of his capes, a frown now coating your face as you noticed how tense he seemed.
“What has you so troubled?” The way you knew his body language like the back of your hand never failed to blow him away. Even with the smile upon his lips you could spot his unease from afar.
“Just a terrible day. I wish not to get into”
“Of course, my prince” my prince. He could feel his heart flutter.
“Would you…would you care to stay just a little while longer? I am desperately in need of your company tonight” he’d laugh softly, those his words were anything but a joke.
“For you, Loki? Anything” you’d reply as you opened up the balcony doors, gesturing for him to follow you. Which he did mindlessly, he’d follow you to the end of the bifrost if you so much as hinted at it.
You leaned against the railing, him right next to you with your elbows just barely touching as you gazed out at the golden lights that shimmered throughout the kingdom. His gaze was solely on you, his eyes soft and filled with fondness as he watched the way your own dazzled at the same city you’d seen a trillion times before.
He couldn’t take this anymore, being so close to you yet not being able to actually hold you. Today reminded him just how much he cared for you, how much he needed you by his side.
He placed a gentle hand on your waist, you turning to see what he needed. He took a step closer, now so close that he could hear you breathe and your heart race. His own was nearly beating out of his chest as he stared down at you
“Loki? I-“
“May I kiss you?” He cut you off, his voice barely above a whisper as he watched your face for any sign of disgust at his advancement.
He saw none, only slight confusion and then a new type of sparkling in your eyes as your features softened and you reached a hand up to cup his cheek.
You didn’t respond, you simply pulled him into you to connect your lips. He could feel a few tears fall down his face as he pulled you even closer so you’d be pressed up against each other. He was desperate to get you closer.
The kiss was unlike anything you’d known before, it was soft yet passionate, love mixed in with desire. You felt like your heart had shattered into two only to come back together, stronger. You two had split your souls in half, giving the other a part of you to hold and cherish. To protect and love. To outsiders it looked like a simple kiss, probably a bit clunky and uncoordinated from how nervous you both were.
But to each other it was a promise to always keep the other safe, to always be there for the other. To always cherish the other. It was a declaration of love.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Review
‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️SPOILERS BELOW ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
This is not a simple review. It will contain specifics and loud opinions.
———-
I just need to start this off by saying that I fucking love Hobie. He is definitely one of the best parts of the movie. I am so happy that the rumor I heard about Hobie liking Gwen and creating a “love triangle” was not true. I very much dislike “love triangles.” I was screaming the entire time Hobie was on screen. He’s an anarchy genius.
Pavitr is the sweetest lil bean. It was such a relief seeing a happy Spider-Man. I really loved seeing Indian culture represented in a simple everyday way.
The Morales family is amazing and I only want the best for them. Mr. and Mrs. Morales are trying hard to be good parents and it shows.
Peter B. Parker what the hell are you thinking bringing a child into a violent fight?? I can sort of forgive the first one but then lying to MJ about it. You were literally carrying MayDay in a bjorn on a bullet train going skyward. I understand that you want Miles to see MayDay and see the good he brought you but a violent environment is not the time or place.
Speaking of bad parenting, Gwen’s father is an immature ass. When Gwen said, “You’re a good cop, Dad.” I wanted her to follow it up with, “but not a good father.” Why can’t superheroes condemn their parents?
Superhero movies don’t allow characters to hold their parents accountable because they’re objectively made for children to enjoy and children aren’t meant to question or judge their parents. When a parent missteps the child is required to meet the parent where they stand by accepting that everything was done out of love. How the child feels and how the slight effected them isn’t discussed. Marvel did this with Howard and Tony as well as Odin, Loki, and Thor. It’s insane that Sony and Marvel deny children seeing their heroes protect themselves and set boundaries with the people who are supposed to care for them above all others.
Miles is truly a King. He’s better than all those other spider-people and right now I don’t think they deserve the good he’s gonna bring them.
I’m not the biggest fan of Gwen’s actions or the romance between her and Miles. I would have preferred to see Tiana Toomes with Miles but Miles does go the furthest with Gwen out of all his girlfriends, opinions can be made as to why that is, so Gwen and Miles makes sense. I feel that their relationship is still in the crush stages and after her betrayal it could be the end of it. Maybe we could see Tiana, Kate, or someone else in the future.
I’m sure Miles is going to forgive Peter and Gwen but I at least want him to make them sweat more or for them to admit in full why they betrayed him. In order for Sony and Marvel to stop showing their audiences that unconditional forgiveness is required characters need to communicate and reach an understanding that isn’t one person deciding to be the bigger person, especially the child.
It’s fascinating to me that spider-people are so willing to rationalize their losses that they will all follow Miguel when he is clearly wrong.
Miguel that world fell apart because you were in it not because a canon event didn’t happen. Canon events, termed by Miguel, are just common themes that have/will lead to similar events because of course they will. Someone not dying in one instance is not the same as someone making roots in a universe that is not their own. The universe is resilient and it will correct itself. If a person’s death is more important than their survival then don’t worry the universe will make sure that they die.
Unlike the spider-heroes who are rationalizing their loss via acceptance, Spot is resorting to anger. He’s just focusing on the brightest string, like the Maximoffs did with Tony.
I found Miguel’s theory of Miles being an anomaly to be interesting. As I previously stated the universe will only go along with things it agrees with, Miguel learned this lesson pretty traumatically, so I believe that 1610 Peter was going to die that night. And if spider-42 hadn’t been brought to universe-1610 then there wouldn’t be a Spider-Man in 1610. So I think that the universe agreed that 1610 Miles is meant to be Spider-Man. I mean as we have seen multiple times in Across alone, Miles is a good force in every universe. I’m wondering if in 42 Prowler Miles is considered an anti-hero instead of a villain. I mean it’s more likely that they will go with the storyline of Miles meeting the evil him to strengthen his own morals, reminiscent of Billy. But I think I’d prefer the first storyline. It fits the narrative of “fuck canon/the box you want me in.” Also does Miguel just not care about universes without Spider-Man because he could have figured out a way to save 42 if he wanted? I’m so excited to see what happens with 42 Prowler and the final fight.
Absolutely loved all the cameos. All the spiders were perfectly done. Someone correct me if I’m wrong (pls pls send me screen grabs) but I didn’t see 199999 Peter in the holograms. Miguel mentions him in a derogatory way but that’s it. I might be reaching since 199999 Peter is my favorite but I think this is because Miguel groups Miles and Peter together. Miguel is okay with not saving everyone which is something Miles and 199999 Peter refuse to do. 199999 Peter’s main motto is “If you have the power to stop the bad things from happening and they happen anyway then they happened because of you.” Honestly, Peter holds himself to this way to tightly but Miguel does the exact opposite. He doesn’t even try to help people and then absolves himself from guilt. Peter literally almost destroyed the multiverse trying to help people and then lost everything fixing it, again Miguel did the opposite.
My final thoughts about Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse are fuck Miguel, I’m disappointed that so many spider-heroes would want to rationalize their trauma so bad that they would intentionally hurt one of their own, and of course the animation is breathtaking. Can’t wait for Beyond the Spider-Verse!
ps. I saw a tweet where someone said they want RiRi to get the Miles treatment and I totally agree. I would die to see RiRi Williams in 2D animation! She’s phenomenal with a great story, plus we’d get a young Tony Stark in 2D. RDJ would voice him no question. We’d be winning winning.

another thing that's really uncomfortable about the comics backstory is that it's very often like. 1. loki was adopted as a ~10 year old, not a baby, and therefore 2. his heritage was never even remotely a secret. and in this circumstance i feel like thor being abusive (esp from the start) is... so much worse?
like, in the mcu with its secrecy and early adoption, you can say that if thor mistreats loki, it's at least partly because he's semi-consciously picking up on their parents not treating loki as equal, but he doesn't know why, so it's just How Things Are (and always have been, literally as long as he can remember!). like, loki being abused is normalised at a fundamental level for thor. and if odin and frigga don't intervene, well, they've already proven their willingness to treat loki as inferior by lying to him his whole life. the mcu is definitely its own kind of horrifying, but it's a quiet and insidious kind, and you can see how the characters could be gradually led into worse and worse actions over time.
whereas in comics canon, where everything is out in the open from the start... thor mistreating loki just looks like straightforward, conscious prejudice. even if he claims otherwise, it's really hard to believe that space racism ISN'T a factor. sure, you just decided your adopted-brother-from-a-completely-dehumanised-enemy-species is your inferior for... no reason. convincing! and the parents not intervening is like... they don't even have anything to hide??? why would you even be hands-off about this unless you literally, consciously want it to happen? it's literally just like. "hey 'dad' you know the boy you told to treat me like a brother last week? well he isn't doing that. he's using me as a punchbag instead" "oh. how sad, my son." "are you going to tell him to stop???" "no."
like, when mcu thor calls loki his brother i believe him. i really do think that mcu thor truly and deeply sees loki as his brother, and himself and loki as fundamentally tied together (to a potentially unhealthy extent), etc etc. but sometimes when comics thor calls loki his brother it's like... okay, but you've never treated him like a brother. you have spent your whole life punishing him for being different at every opportunity. but now that you want to scold him, you're brothers? this is not love! this is an excuse!!!
like. i may not be being entirely fair to the comics here; there may be far better and more complex versions i haven't found yet. but just based on my experience so far... in the mcu, "they hurt you but they're your family" is this elaborate manipulative mind game where everyone involved really does love each but finds ways to justify the abuse anyway, so love and abuse are inseparable and often expressed by the exact same act, and this causes fundamental damage to the sons' concept of what love even is, whether love without abuse is *possible*, whether ceasing to love "family" is *possible*, etc etc... whereas in many of the comics, "they hurt you but they're your family" is like. those are literally the only two things they do. they hurt you, and then they SAY you're their family to stake ownership while doing absolutely nothing to prove their alleged love, not even the barest scraps of affection, ever. like come on??? i would cause the apocalypse over and over too!!!
(and as i said before - the situation being bad doesn't make the writing bad. but this continuous hand-wringing and pretending that thor's part in it is more complicated and more sympathetic than they ever actually show... does.)

It was never about a throne.
Like I completely reject the notion that Loki took over Asgard at the end of The Dark World because he "wanted a throne."
Because he said in the very first movie that he never wanted a throne. All he ever wanted was to be seen as Thor's equal. He wanted to stop living in Thor's shadow. Why would that have changed?
It didn't. Loki took over Asgard at the end of TDW as his own of getting revenge on his family for taking him for granted.
Like what is the first thing that happens when Thor brings Loki back to Asgard?
What is the very first thing Odin says to Loki?
"Why did you do that?"
"Are you okay?"
Nope, none of that. Let's review--
youtube
So the conversation between Loki and Frigga establishes a few things--
Loki has given up hope. He's assumed that Odin is going to have him killed. That's why he says, "Define worse."
He knows that he can never live up to his parents' expectations of him, so why would they believe anything he has to say about the situation regarding Thanos? Why would they believe that Loki never actually planned on ruling Midgard but was sent there because he was being manipulated and blackmailed?
They wouldn't. That's what he's thinking anyway, so he decides to play along cause they've already assumed the worst of him.
Loki wants to hear what Odin really thinks of him -- his precious baby boy that he rescued from Jotunheim.
And one of the first things Odin says to him is,
"All this because Loki desires a throne?"
You can tell from the opening scene that Loki is dreading his conversation with his father. He just wants to get it over with as soon as possible. And the entire conversation is him basically saying,
But it was okay when you did it?
Except he knows it wasn't. He's just throwing Odin's hypocrisy in his own face because now the truth is out there, and everything Loki learned in the first Thor movie has been reconfirmed: Odin does not care about Loki, and deep down he knows he should have just left Loki on Jotunheim to die. Because regardless of whatever plans he had for Loki -- to use him as a pawn in some political scheme:
"By the way, Laufey, you remember that son of yours that went missing eons ago when I was here slaughtering your people--?"
Regardless of those meticulously thought out, painstakingly laid plans Loki is a bad egg. Irredeemable. Undeserving of any sort of sympathy or second chance.
Loki just wanted to hear him say it because he was expecting to die. He wanted to die. He doesn't want to live knowing that he's ruined his mother's life, disappointed her, and completely destroyed whatever chance he had at repairing his relationship with Thor. He doesn't want to live with the memories of Thanos's torture in his head or knowing that the only father he'd ever had only ever saw him as a gambling chip. That's why he spent the entire scene snarking off and calling his dad out on his shit.
So, yes, by the end of the movie he's furious and resentful.
Because his family is still unwilling to say, "We're sorry we fucked up. We're sorry we hurt you."
Throughout the entire film Thor never comes to see Loki or ask if he's okay. The only time Thor goes to Loki throughout the entire movie is when he needs his help to save Jane. He doesn't care about the pain Loki feels -- no, he's just worried about some mortal that threw herself at him during the seventy-two hours he spent banished on Midgard.
Odin and Thor just assume the worst of Loki without even bothering to ask if he's okay. They completely disregard all of the abuse, the favoritism, and the fact that he said flat out that he never wanted a throne. But, yeah, at the end of the day that must be what its really about cause Loki is nothing more than a spoiled brat of a prince, nothing more or less, right?
And that is why Loki took over Asgard and sent his father to a nursing home on Midgard. He is a child, lashing out and furious at the fact that he is being held responsible for his parents' and brother's sins. Now, what was it that Rocket said in the first GtoG movie?
"I didn't ask to get made."
Well, Loki never asked for Odin to rescue him from Jotunheim.
And since the Loki fandom has so far portrayed the emotional depth of a teaspoon, let's just throw this is here to see if we can make the parallels a bit less subtle--
youtube
So all of the healing and growth that Loki accomplished in the TV series is not because he's suddenly focused on something other than a throne. Because it was never about that. Ever.

Actually the MCU can be deeply disrespectful for those who've suffered because of the larger governing body's greed, harshness or failures.
Wanda who's family's home was destroyed and parents kill. Eventually looses her country and has no where to go. She just goes crazy and dies.
Bucky who suffered so much because of the failure of the US government. He needs to make amends and stop hiding behind his lack of control.
Bruce who has to live on the run because of the governments violent zealousness. Which only made treatment for condition nigh impossible. Whatever, don't you know how bad cat calling is?
Loki who his skin changed and felt out of place and unknowingly developed deep internalized racism till it all came crashing down. Why couldn't he just appreciate what he had?
Also everyone Stark has screwed over.
It's quite telling isn't it, that the victims are the ones being blamed while the authority and the system are justified? Every time, in all those you mentioned it always goes the same way.
Loki is the villain and the narrative never questions Odin, if anything he has every action excused and the blame falls solely on Hela in Ragnarok while he gets a heartfelt farewell.
Ross gets to give a speech in CW about accountability and the safety of the civilians as if he hadn't caused the destruction of Harlem in The Incredible Hulk.
Bucky was taken prisoner by Hydra and he's told he has to make amends but Agent Brexit is treated as a saint in all movies and series even though she hired Zola fully aware of what he had done to Bucky and the other soldiers in the 107th, which led to Hydra infiltrating Shield. And approaching the families of the victims in TFATWS is something that should have been done by the government but nope, they use Bucky as the scapegoat instead.
Wanda lost her parents and her home and she and Pietro joined the anti-US protests when Hydra lied to them and some other Sokovians in order to run experiments on them. But of course no one holds Stark accountable for this or any of the deaths his weapons caused, they'd rather call Wanda a nazi... it would seem hiring a literal nazi to work for the government doesn't turn you into one but unknowingly joining an organization that happened to be Hydra even if she didn't know that is enough to call her a nazi. Make it make sense.
In each and every one of those the victim is blamed and the authorities and the privileged are justified. It's ridiculous. And the scene that serves as closure for CW is Stark giving a Hydra speech. It's so pro-status quo it's almost funny.

atreus is 14 in gowr, since he was 11 in the previous game. i think it's disheartening to hear from adults who wanted to be understood, seen, or be able to walk their own paths as kids don't seem to hold the same compassion for children in general. 'WHY are they so impatient ugh i hate kids 🙄' like... these are children still figuring it out bro calm down maybe. you're a grown adult. also i don't think the game was implying that atreus has become an 'adult' by the end, but it signifies that he's about to become his own person during his countless journies to come. this is something that has been ordained to him, and he has to do it without his father. but to do that, kratos had to let go (a reocurring theme - letting go; think brok and sindri. gryla when confronted by angrboda. freya and her vengeance.) this is no small feat for kratos of course, like that's his only son his only blood. he had something to life for after so many years of wanting to die - and now that very thing is leaving him.
i think that in the universe of gow, the children don't have any other choice than growing up faster, getting big responsibilities on their shoulders. i'm thinking of atreus wanting finding out about the jötnar in other worlds and possibly more about faye's coup, angrboda growing up without her parents, not knowing where she's going to end up because of fate/prophecies, literally the souls of her people trusted to her. thrud who grew up with father being an alcoholic and her messed up family, now has incredibly big shoes to fill with her wielding mjolnir. skjöldr might seem like a regular guy but he and his family moved from midgard to asgard, leaving his childhood home behind. and by the end he's already delegating and started to take on the role of a leader (on par of him becoming the king of denmark in the future). you see this happen and realize they are just... children. but their world is so unforgiving, not giving them the time or space to be carefree. so i am excited to see what else santa monica is gonna cook up for the sequels. that or Bring Me My Son Back I Miss Him I Cannot Handle This Empty Nest DLC.
People's reactions to Atreus in Ragnarök were extremely telling. Of course he was going to act rash and be a bit secretive, especially since Kratos was not handling this well at all. I don't think any of the adults were except for Brok, especially when Freya and Mimir and Odin/Tyr ganged up on Atreus over Garm. He already felt bad about it and wanted to make things right. They were doing exactly what Odin wanted and that was drive Atreus to him. I was frustrated for Atreus on his behalf because I also know Kratos was being a hypocrite. You can't go on about trust and keeping secrets while not telling Atreus the actual truth about what happened in Greece.
If Kratos doesn't tell Atreus about Calliope, someone else will, and that's gonna be a disaster.
Atreus is going to make mistakes on his own, as teenagers do as they try to figure out the world. Even though Odin has a brutal lesson, he is still vulnerable to trusting people who don't have the best intentions because he's still young and on his own for the first time in his life. I think Kratos and Freya and Mimir know that and they're prepared for it because it's a natural part of growing up and they love him unconditionally. No matter what, Atreus always has a home and family. I would be disappointed if Atreus didn't make an Oppsie-Poopsie at some point and they act like his development is over. His story is really just beginning.
Now, how gamers will react to Atreus inevitably fumbling is something I worry about because they hate teenagers. Atreus is a good kid, though. He has his moments like all kids do, but he's a really good kid and a testament to how much Kratos has changed and also Faye's parenting. He's compassionate and won't stand to watch suffering, he's very intuitive and loves to learn, and confident (sometimes to a fault). He's going to encounter all sorts of people, and inevitably encounter gods, on his journey, and some will try to take advantage of him.
I'm also really worried that it will be Kratos indirectly that causes him major problems because uh... Kratos is not exactly the most liked guy. He has a bit of a deserved reputation. Now, Atreus might not think that, and the new Norse pantheon like him, but he could get in a lot of trouble for saying who his father is. Maybe I'm being overprotective, but he's literally wearing a piece of the Ghost of Sparta's loincloth as, like, sash.

The Maid And The God
Chapter Three
(Fem!reader, Enemies to lovers, angst, spit, cursing, some violence, 18+)
Tumblr media
“Mom? What’s going on? Why are you-how?”
“ Shhh my love come here mommy’s got you”
She held your body while you lay in your bed. She made you feel safe. “What’s been going on sweetheart? Tell me everything” you didn’t quite understand what she meant, yet somehow knew exactly what she meant
“oh mom it’s loki. He’s awful! He always has made me feel so out of place and uncomfortable! I-I don’t know how to act. I don’t understand why he is so intimidating! Or why his parents love him! Who could love such a wretched”-
“Uh uh darling” her fingers shush your lips. “There is a lot you don’t understand my dear. I know your hurting. I know your scared but-“
You can’t control the sobs falling down your face “I am scared. I’m so damn scared mom. I don’t know how to do any of this without you. Everything was fine. Then he showed up and he’s ruined everything! I fear anything I do will start fights with him….I’m afraid I’m already on his bad side.”
You can’t stop rambling to her, crying harder then ever before. “I don’t know what I ever did to him. And now I work for him! And -and” you sniffle into your fist. “I feel so helpless. Why am I here? What am I doing? A servant got a greedy jerk! Everything’s so scary without you mom”
She holds you tighter. You missed her every day and you feel years of pain pooling out. “Hush now my little dove. Mommy’s got you”. You cried and cried into her until you could no longer. Exhaustion had hit you. Your eyes heavy and head resting on her chest. She smelt the same. Like lavender and her special perfume. You lay in her cocoon arms until you drift asleep.
The sun hits your skin and you bat your eyes. “Mom!” You call out. Gasping for air. But it was only a dream. You feel your heart sink. “Oh…” that sadness and overwhelming feeling you had comes back. Today was just a sad day. You drag yourself out of bed and step into your shower. You look in the mirror at yourself as you take each item of clothing off. You step into the shower feeling the warm water trickle down your body. You couldn’t stop thinking about the dream you had.
With each motion of washing your body your mind replayed the dream. Her smell, her arms, the way you felt so safe and finally could be vulnerable. But what did she mean? About loki? You shake the thought. You didn’t want to think about him just now. You hadn’t felt so happy and safe in so long. “If only I could sleep forever so I could be with you mom” you say to yourself. You hadn’t been this depressed in a while, and today you just didn’t care.
Your mother was gone. You were alone. You had no friends and The Odinson’s weren’t truly family to you. “Ugh fuck this” you turn the shower off and change aggressively into casual clothes. You weren’t going to wear your uniform today. But you knew one thing for sure; you weren’t taking anyone’s shit today. You were angry now, so angry. Why was life so cruel to you? You didn’t deserve this. And now you have to deal with this monster of a being. Me fucking know it all, better then everyone. Pfft! Who did he think he was? And how dare he threaten you? And intimidate you? The nerve! Had had not near experienced the pain you had been through. So why the hell were you going to sit around and be scared of him?
You acquire your cleaning supplies and began. You started off making sure the halls were clean, polished, and dusted. You took your time today. Why rush? It’s not like your day could get worse. Or were you secretly avoiding seeing loki today? Another thought you pushed aside. It had been a few hours and every part of the palace was perfect. You could see yourself in the floors reflection. You had made Frigga and Odins bed, Thors bed even though he rarely is around. He apparently does quests with a team called the avengers or something sometimes. You don’t pay much attention. Thor was lovely, but something about him never sat right. Yous used to be quite close when you were young, but as he got older and had more purposes and missions to fulfil he was almost too good? Self righteous almost?
Loki had this love/hate relationship with Thor. And you loved getting close with Thor when he visited. It pissed loki off, and he also kept you safe…another thing you never will share to anyone. But god did he bother you. You wanted them to know what it is like to be human just for one day. You close Thors door and slowly make your way to your last room. You dreaded this, you took your time even more. Step by step you ease to his doorstep. “Here goes. Nothing I Guess”. You were defeated, tired, sad, angry, passionate, furious. And holding that in was giving you enough confidence and strength to get through this next half hour. You Bang Open his door- it was locked, unlike the rest. “Loki open the fucking door”. Within seconds it swings open. And behold Loki stands in front of you. A calm expression on his face.
“Can you move. I have work to do like today”. He looked taken aback. “Well my my, aren’t we a grumpy little bird to”-
You raise your hand to shush him “not today loki” you state. Your tone cold and dominant. “I’m cleaning and I’m gone. You won’t even know I was here alright? Save your fighting for literally anyone else” you roll your eyes.
Loki doesn’t speak he just watches you in disbelief. You had never spoken to him like that. A big bubble of energy filled you. Look at you to! You stood up to him and Gods did it feel good. But you also held your breath in fear this would backfire. You needed to do this fast before loki changes his mind from being this calm person to starting another fight. Most of his room was clean from yesterday, almost like it was untouched. His bed and desk were the only things needing attending. “ Gods Y/N, you look like you haven’t slept.” There was a pause. You turn and look at Loki. Was he concerned? Why was he asking? “It’s absolutely disgusting and I don’t want to see my maid looking this way. Oh and your clothes. Why are you not in your uniform?” He scoffs. “Gods your pathetic.” You suck in a tight breath. There it was. Why did you even tempt the thought of him caring? You finishing tucking his sheets in and making his bed look perfect. “Firstly it’s absolutely none of your fucking business. Secondly there’s so much I want to respond to that, but your not worth the air loki. Your room is done, my duties are done for the day. I am leaving”.
You begin to storm out but suddenly hear the sound of a cup falling and smashing. Gritting your teeth your turn around on your heel. “Oops. Guess you missed a spot.” He smirks and watches you as You sigh. Of course he did that. You get down on your knees and pull out paper towel and some spray. “Oh and one more thing” loki says. You see his shoes first, he was right in front of you. You tilt your head up slowly but suddenly feel his hand fist your hair, forcefully pulling your head up. Loki leans in close to you his warm breath touching your face. “Remember who the fuck your talking to before you come in here with that attitude” And he did something you were not ready for. He spits across your face in disgust you try pulling away but your small head is in his large grip. “Your fucking pathetic. You are just a maid and nothing more. Now clean it up” he throws you to the floor your head almost hitting the ground.
You listen to his footsteps walk away and when you hear he’s gone you burst into tears. Today definitely got worse. Your chest ached & your eyes welled with tears. Who did you think you were? Talking to a literal god like that? You hated yourself more. You rapidly clean the mess and race back to your bedroom. You spent the rest of the evening crying. You were so hurt, in such a pain you couldn’t comprehend. You needed your mother. How could you let someone like loki treat you this way? Why did it matter if he was a god or a nobody? Why did he hate you so much?
You cried so hard you passed out asleep and when you finally woke it was still dark. What time was it? You didn’t move, you didn’t eat. You just ached. The room was silent for some time but soon you heard a little creek of your door. Startled you freeze up. “Y/N? …it’s uh..it’s Loki”.
