I had asked James to write a bit about what 72 Seasons meant to him. But even before we received that, Lars shared that James did say one thing he thought was particularly interesting, which was “prisoner of childhood.” So Lars was the guy who distilled a lot of what James had to say into a phrase that became extremely powerful for us creatively. It was a brilliant synthesis of all the ideas behind 72 Seasons in three words.

I wanna expand on how hell has influenced eve both physically and mentally. So buckle up, buttercups !!
She found herself in a place where the rules of morality held little sway, and sin reigned supreme. Everything she had been taught since her existence meant nothing in this realm. There was nothing holy or righteous, no god to offer guidance or angels to watch over her. Here, she was on her own, and she had to learn how to adapt.
At first, Eve embraced the freedom that hell offered with reckless abandon. She indulged in sinful activities, reveling in the pleasures of the flesh and the intoxicating allure of vice. Drinking, gambling, and other debaucherous pursuits became a regular part of her existence, a means of escaping the harsh realities of her new life.
In the eyes of the denizens of hell, Eve was already viewed as a demon - to those who didn’t know who she was, she was only another sinner who died and ended up there - and she saw no reason to deny them that perception. She embraced her newfound identity with a sense of defiance, flaunting her sexuality and reveling in her newfound power. If she was to be condemned, then she would do so on her own terms.
Despite her indulgence in sinful behavior, she remained fundamentally kind-hearted and compassionate, reaching out to those in need and offering solace where she could. It was a dichotomy that baffled those around her, the juxtaposition of innocence and corruption coexisting within the same soul.
Though still unmistakably human in appearance, Eve now bore the hallmarks of a creature born of the infernal depths. Her skin seemed to radiate a faint, otherworldly glow, casting her in an eerie light that set her apart from the denizens of hell. There was a magnetic quality to her presence, a palpable aura of allure that drew others to her like moths to a flame. In many ways, Eve had become something akin to a succubus, her beauty a weapon to be wielded.

Contemplating a scenario where Shen Qingqiu is hanging out in the demon palace alone because Binghe went out to the store or something and he comes across Sha Hualing, angry because she broke a nail but not really able to do anything about it because she's on guard duty. So sqq, without thinking, offers to help her fix her manicure.
That's how the demon realm learns that the supreme demon emperor's husband is surprisingly knowledgeable about and skilled with nail care

ok ok ok watching scar's vod for last saturday's mcc while i do much-needed work. that's not important. what IS important is that i'm 23 mins into the beginning of the vod and someone just sent a dono sending luck from yellowstone because they had to work and scar is like (super excited)
"from yellowstone? do you work at yellowstone? [a gasp and like 5 full seconds of awed silence] yellowstone...i've been to yellowstone twice. i love yellowstone."
this is personally important to me specifically as the writer of firewatch au, since shoshone national forest literally borders yellowstone national park. about half the research i have done, especially about ecology, has to be for either yellowstone or "greater yellowstone ecosystem" because shoshone is so much less-visited that there is a lack of data and research available for it. yellowstone is one of the most iconic/most visited parks in the country, so there's a wealth of climate data, geological data, ecological studies, etc for me to pull from and it's close enough to shoshone for me to consider it all. scar's general reaction and love of yellowstone also means i completely unintentionally nailed certain parts of his characterization without even knowing it xD
