Amelia is watching her husband's chest rise and fall, he’s not breathing on his own, he had to be intubated on the way to the hospital.

She knows things will get worse before they get better. It seemed to work that way, she had dropped Willow and 3 year old Eric off at Blackburn's, who was happy to help watch the kids. Her brother was training green team still so hadn’t been able to get away and Ashley, god she needed to phone her, but she was pulled from the reserves for a last minute deployment.

She’s watching the vitals, Blackburn is telling the team, she doesn’t even know what happened, he was fine, talking to her, had said he was going to sort out some things regarding Willow's birthday in 2 weeks.

Please don’t let her lose her father. Amelia thought, tears building up in her eyes again.

“Amelia” The Doctor says as he enters, gesturing for her to remain sitting “We got results back from the tests and scans we took” he explains, the way he says it doesn’t fill her with hope “He injuries to the chest area”

“Yeah, he only got back from a mission a few days ago,” Amelia says.

“X-Rays of the chest show he’s suffered from a Pulmonary Contusion, mechanical ventilation, concerned about hypoxemia and hypercarbia, we are monitoring that. Now while he did go into cardiac arrest, from what we can see there’s no concern for him having brain damage, we are going to continue monitoring him, you should go home”

Amelia shook her head, tears flowing “I need to stay with him”

“You have two kids Amelia, they need their momma”

"Amelia!" Jason calls as he comes down the hall "We came as soon as we heard" he states as the other members of Bravo appear behind him in the hall.

Bad Things happen Bingo Card Prompt CPR Trigger Warning: Resuscitation/CPR, Death? Close to Death.

"Mommy!" Willow screams, as she runs into the room, the 4 year old crying "Daddy hurt! Won't wake up!"

“9-1-1 whats the nature of your emergency” the operators voice came through the speaker 

“My name is Amelia Carter-Sawyer, I’m a nurse at St Samuels, I have an adult male, unresponsive” she says, “Come on Trent, baby wake up” she whispered. 

“Ma’am I require information to pass on to paramedics, I need your address, can you check his pulse and if he’s breathing”

Amelia’s hands where shaking, as she reached up, pressing to finger to his neck “No pulse, not breathing, moving to CPR” she informed the operator, starting compressions counting to 30, then moving to give 2 rescue breaths, before going back to compressions “come on Trent, don’t do this, please don’t do this” she whispered. 

“Ma’am I have pinged your phone, and got your location, help is on the way, can you tell me his name?”

“His name is Trent Sawyer, he's an active Navy personnel,” Amelia says, her arms are beginning to hurt and she's getting tired. 

Paramedics arrive, and open the door shouting out their arrival before moving in the house, and following Amelia's voice. 

They fire questions at Amelia, asking questions, she answers watching as they supply oxygen and shock him. 

Please Trent, please wake up 

She's calling her brother crying, watching the medics work on her husband. She knows that look they've just shared. 

"T.O.D"

"No! No! You have to keep working please!" Amelia cries, dropping the phone, trying to reach her husband, but a medic holds her back. 

"Dispatch, T.O.D 13:05... unable to resuscitate...Lead will confirm" the young female medic says, looking to her boss.

Amelia gets asked to leave the room, she does so, her heart is aching, tears are falling “mommy” Willow's voice breaks through “Why is daddy sleeping on the floor?” she asks. Amelia pulls her daughter into a hug. 

The lead Paramedic, double checking the team's conclusion, he frowns, fingers over the pulse point on Trents neck, pushing down a little, he feels it “Get the gurney! Pulse is there but weak, grab the stretcher move!” He barks orders. 

Amelia feels her heart racing “Ma’am” the Lead paramedic says “If you hadn’t started CPR when you did, it would be too late” he says, the monitor finally began showing that Trents heart was beating, it wasn’t strong, but it was there.

Amelia hugged her daughter, tears still falling as she watched Trent being loaded into the ambulance and taken to hospital.

“Hey” , Metal says the minute he sees his sister, pulling her into a hug and placing a kiss on the top of her head “I'm sorry I didn’t get here sooner” he whispers.

Amelia wrapped her arms around her big brother, hiding into him, he can feel her tears soaking through his shirt, he holds her close ignoring the fact they are in the middle of the hallway outside ICU.

He was fine Scotty, he just went to sort something out a-and god Willow she-” Amelia takes a breath, trying not to let a sob out “She found him...when they went to time of death...she” the tears fell, as her daughters words echo in her mind "Mommy whys daddy sleeping on the floor?” the words haunting her for the past 2 days.

Metal moves with her to a quieter area that a nurse has pointed out, he slowly lowers them both to the ground, it’s hell on his back and legs but it’s easier to keep his sister close and safe.

“Take your time and tell me what happened” he whispers

“He went to finish something, I can’t even remember what it was, went into the office, I was doing laundry and Willow screamed that he was hurt...Scotty he was so pale…” she whispered “Called 9-1-1, and proceeded to perform CPR” she whispered sniffing slightly.

“It’s ok, I'm here now” Metal whispered, comforting his sister as she cried, watching nurses and doctors as they appeared to float up and down the hallways, the hall they were in seemed to carry the sobs of Amelia as the noise bounced of the walls, carrying her sorrow out to the world.

Heart Stops Beating 5

Its been nearly a month.

Amelia crosses out another day, its another day of telling her kids that their father isn’t coming home. Her brother has been staying over, she isn’t sure if it is for her benefit or his.

4 weeks prior - Location Classified.

“Bravo 4 respond” Jason's voice came over the radio Bravo 4! Do you read me?” his voice is louder, but Trent can’t answer, he was separated from the team, he's out of Ammo, he’s trying to get to cover.

Finally “This is Four! To all elements! I'm pinned!” Trent calls out over the radio as he slides down an embankment, when something exploded and he was thrown forwards, landing hard on his front, when he turned onto his back he was met with a gun to his face being held by a young boy “Get it over with then!” Trent growled, waiting for the shot to go off.

The young boy looked so scared, like he wasn’t sure what to do, he dropped the weapon and ran. Metal soon appeared after “Four!” he called, coming to a halt “You good?”

“I am now” Trent responded, being helped up. His chest hurts so much. He follows Metal back towards the others, towards exfil, meaning towards home.

When the mission is over and he gets home, he tells Amelia the bruising is nothing serious, 24 hours later Willow goes crying to Amelia.

Metal lay staring at the ceiling, he wished he had made Trent go get checked out once on base, especially since 24 hours later his heart failed him. All because of blunt force trauma to the chest or an impact.

He failed his brother.

“Hello?” Amelia says answering her phone, metal is up when Amelia lets out a sob, ending the call and looking to her brother “H-He-”

May I request 87: "I didn't wanna wake you up. You Just looked so peaceful." With Amelia and Trent from your seal team series?

Amelia woke up, the sun peeking out from behind the curtains, shining a light on her, her swollen tummy, and the fact her husband is no longer asleep beside her. Confused, she attempted to get up, struggling a little bit and made her way downstairs.

Trent, being the amazing man that he is, had his back turned to her, focused on making breakfast for their little family. She can hear their 18-month-old in the living room, watching Cocomelon while playing with her toys. She quietly walks up to her husband and hugs him, her tummy pressing up against him more than anything.

"Mornin', love. Breakfast will be ready in a few minutes," Trent greeted her, putting one of his hands over hers. She lets go of him, walking over to the coffee pot, and pouring her only cup of coffee for the day.

"How come you didn't wake me up, T? Would've helped you," She replied, turning to face him while leaning on the counter.

"I didn't want to wake you up. You just looked so peaceful. Plus, you need your rest. Was just you and Willow for over a week." He spoke while stirring the food in the pan, before coming over to Amelia and putting his hands on her baby bump, giving her a proper kiss for the morning.

"Maybe, but I missed you when you were gone, want to get as much time as a family of three as we can, only three months to go."

"Mama!" Their eighteen-month-old, Willow, yelled as she came running towards them. Amelia scooped her up in her arms, giving her a cluster of kisses on her cheeks to make her giggle, and then letting her lay her little head on her shoulder.

"So, want to do something with her today? Got the day off, Blackburn needs a break from us after that spin-up," Trent joked, semi-focusing on the task ahead of him.

"What're you thinking, Willow? Wanna go to the park or the aquarium see the fishies with Mama and Daddy?" Amelia asked the toddler in her arms, who was nodding her head excitedly, making Amelia giggle.

"Sounds like a plan. I'll call Uncle Scot-Scot and Auntie Ash, see if they want to join." Trent suggested, plating the food and motioning that breakfast was ready. The little family spent the rest of the morning laughing and planning their day, enjoying their time together before his inevitable spin-up

He didn’t know that today, of all days, he would see the woman of his dreams.

He could tell she was young, by how much he wasn’t sure, but the way her smile radiated and her brown eyes sparked made his heart skip a beat.

She had on scrubs, her hair tied up in a ponytail. He could tell she had a spunk to her, the blue in her hair gave it away instantly.

Would he talk to her? Probably not, he looked like hell and there was no way someone like her would talk to him on a good day.

He ordered his drink, smiling politely at the young girl who was behind the counter, before going and standing near the woman while waiting for his coffee to be made.

He got a better look at her, his heart catching in his throat. She was focusing on something she was reading on her phone, and even the face she makes when she focused makes him weak in the knees.

He was so lost in his thoughts of her, how she must have so much confidence, with her nose ring and her blue streaks in her otherwise dark hair, he didn’t even hear his order being called.

However, apparently she didn’t hear it wasn’t her order either. She took a big drink, still focused on whatever she was reading, before immediately spitting it out, sending the hot, extremely bitter liquid all over the place, and on his work boots.

“I am so sorry! Let me help you clean that up!” The twenty-five year old said, her cheeks becoming a scarlet red as she realized she just spit coffee over this poor man’s shoes.

Trent shook his head, chuckling at how flustered the young lady was. “It’s fine, ma’am. I imagine you just took my order by mistake?” He grabbed napkins, beginning to clean up the mess.

Amelia nodded, bending down to help him. “Please don’t call me ma’am, makes me think of my mother,” she winced at the thought.

Trent smiled, nodding, “Well, what should I call you, then?”

“Amelia, you?” She asked, looking into his eyes, swearing they were staring into her soul.

He had to admit, he was infatuated with her, it wasn’t every day someone like her walked into his life, even for a moment. He bored his eyes into hers, noticing how the brown was almost a honey colored. “Trent, Uh,” he smiled, getting a little flustered, “Trent Sawyer.”

Amelia smiled, “Nice to meet you, Mr. Sawyer.”

He held his hand out for her to take, helping her up. “Please, call me Trent. Mr Sawyer is my father, and I’d rather forget he exists,” he chuckled, his heart soaring when she laughed.

“Will do,” she grinned, not wanting to remove her hand from his, they were warm and calloused, and felt perfect in hers.

They stated into each other’s eyes for a moment, before Trent withdrew his hand. He placed them in his pockets, looking up and nodding towards the counter, “That’s yours, o think.”

Amelia turned around, her cheeks tinted pink, nodding. “Let me order you another coffee, my treat.”

Trent smiled, “no no,” he shook his head, “I’m alright. Would you, Uh,” he paused, swallowing, “Would you like to meet up sometimes?”

Amelia’s eyes widened, thinking for a moment. Could she let herself get close to someone else again? “Yeah,” she smiled, “I’d like that. Here,” she grabbed the sharpie out of her pocket, before scribbling her number on his hand.

Trent nodded, smiling. “I’ll um, I’ll call you,” he smiled, before walking out the door. For the first time in a while, he had those butterflies.

The nine-year-old came crashing into him, hugging him tightly “You’re home! You said you wouldn’t be home until tomorrow!”

“...Ash, kid...it is tomorrow.” Trent chuckled, he had missed his sister, coming home had gotten so much easier when he knew he had his sister waiting for him.

“Ooooooh”

“Did you stay up all night?”

“....yeah” Ashley smiled at him,

“Did Nan and pops know about this?”  he smirked, looking at his sister, who shook her head. “Why were you up?”

“Irene was lonely!” Ashley says, looking at her brother, holding on to him as he picked her up, carrying her outside and down to the field where the horses were kept, he could see his grandparents focused on getting a camp ready for summer, they run a program to help kids get away from abusive households and give them the skills they need to know on how to survive.

He stopped at the fence, chuckling as the horses came charging up.

Ashley giggled, reaching out and petting Harmony and Byron.

“Gonna tell me why you stayed up all night?” Trent asked his sister, who had shrugged in answer, “Kid, want to tell me?”

“They’re taking me back.” Ashley whispered looking down “the lawyer says custody was given back to them…” she muttered looking down, “I go back this evening.”  she sniffed, resting her head on her brother's shoulder.

Trent held his sister closer, setting her down, before waving one of the stable hands over asking to get camping gear and the horses tacked up, he was going to make sure his sister had some happy memories before she was taken away.

By 8 pm, the lawyer had arrived to pick Ashley up, he could see the hope and happiness from Ashley as the door shut, taking her back to their parents home. 

Trent ran a hand over his face, his grandparents looking at him, his grandfather speaking, “Better be planning to fight Trent.” he says, looking at him.

For the next week, he tried to get custody back, fighting to get his sister into his custody for a safe upbringing, losing the battle each time. Ashley never knew about the battle he had, thinking her brother left her in the hands of their parents, where she suffered for years until she was kicked out when she was 18.

Present day: 2018

Ashley was sitting on the ranch, watching everyone having fun, Trent was doing a massive fireworks display for the 4th of July, she hated it. 

she drank some beer, getting up and grabbing the keys to her bike and her helmet, why was she even here? 

“Ashley where are you going?” Trent asked, walking over to his sister, causing her to frown. 

“This isn’t my scene Trent.” Ashley said pulling her helmet on. 

Trent raised an eyebrow, “Stick around, we’ve got Sonny doing barbecue, fireworks display that I set up... you loved it as a kid.”  he says. 

Ashley rolled her eyes. “I was a kid Trent, thats the point, not anymore. Might have forgotten but. This day. You lot are celebrating, was the day you let them take me away. Thats something I wont forget.” she says, climbing on her bike, turning the ignition on and revving the engine, before speeding off. She didn’t blame Trent, she just hated how happy people were during holidays, while she was left with the pain she suffered. 

Amelia walked over to Trent, placing a hand on his back “Give it some time.” she whispered. “But you need to tell her Trent, she needs to know.”

Trent sighed, nodding slowly.

13 of the pregnancy list, for Amelia/Trent please?

Trent was growing more concerned, it was the third day now Amelia had been sick, he moved to his fiancée, gently rubbing her back and holding her hair back, “Stomach bug?” he asked quietly.

“No,” Amelia groaned, coughing a little “morning sickness.” she mumbled, she took the wet cloth Trent handed her, wiping her mouth “Thank you” she whispered.

“Think you deserve a bed day.” Trent whispered, kissing the top of her head as he picked her up and carried her back to bed, tucking her in, before moving downstairs and sorting out some things for her to eat, before bringing it back upstairs, setting it on the bedside, then kissing her cheek, and moving to press a kiss to her abdomen, whispering "Ease up on your mom there. We need her to keep 2fluids else she'll end up having to drink more water or have an IV which we don't want." which caused Amelia to giggle.

Based off a scam call I had.

Early 2018

It was a get together before the boys were deploying or in this case Trent was deploying for a Gucci mission. 

"Carter" Metal said as he answered the phone. 

"Hi my name's Rachel I'm calling in regard to an offer we have" the voice says "Yeah, we have you down interested in one of our coffins, before we proceed further, do you have any questions?" 

Metal grabbed a measuring tape from his pocket, picking on Ashley by measuring her "Can it fit someone who is 5'3?"

"Yes" 

"If I bury it, will the decomposition of the body be detected by any dogs owned by police?" 

"Uh"

"Does it burn easily? How many bodies can I fit in it?"

"Sir"

"Good for burying someone alive in?" 

"If that's your thing?"

"...how fast do you ship them out? I got a fresh body in front of me"

The call ended, Trent laughing slightly. 

Ashley gulped "Should I be concerned?" She says looking at the group, causing Amelia to laugh, while Metal went back to eating.

Year: 2020 - October

She came round to the flashing lights, people talking over her, where was she? “Ma’am stay with us,” a voice said “Ashley keep your eyes open” they have medic uniforms on. Paramedics, why did she need paramedics? 

She then saw the police cars, from where she lay on the road, she could see her bike a few feet away from her. She could hear shouting that the driver of the car that hit her was drunk and never stopped. 

“We’re losing her! We need to transport now!” she heard as she let herself slip away.

The team was gathered in Trent's living room, some game playing on the TV, Amelia was helping Trent in the kitchen with plates and getting snacks prepared, along with more beer. Metal kept glancing at his phone, frowning as time got on when Trent spoke up “She’s probably held up in traffic or fallen asleep” he said, handing out beers to the team.  Brock smirked as he played with Pepper and Cerb, Ray was chatting with Jason, Sonny was laughing at something that had been said, when Clay spoke up. “She’ll call eventually” Clay smirked, the team had found it amusing once they discovered Trent and Metal were dating, they never saw it coming. But while they saw the chaos all 4 caused when they got together, when everyone met for something, it always turned into some chaotic thing.  Like how Blackburn had to ban Sonny, Clay, Brock, and Metal going drinking with Ashley because she would challenge them to drinking games, it was a disaster, they are not supervised by someone when they meet up. 

The two sharp knocks on the front door brought silence to the room, Jason looked out the window, spotting the police officers. Trent opened the door frowning when the officer spoke “are you Trent Sawyer?” he asked, the team was now standing up, Amelia came to stand beside Trent at the front door. “I'm Police Lieutenant Watkins” he continues 

“I'm Trent, uh come in  what’s going on?” Trent asked. 

The Lieutenant looked to his colleague as they entered the home. 

“You can say what you need to” Trent frowned, arm going around Amelia's shoulders, he had a bad feeling about this. 

“Staff Sergeant Ashley C Sawyer, you're down as her next of kin, along with Amelia Carter and Scott Carter,” Watkins said, looking at the group. Metal now walking over. “Yeah, everything ok?” Trent frowned “What’s happened” 

“Sir, Miss Sawyer was involved in a multi-vehicle collision, she’s been taken to Virginia Beach General Hospital.” The man explained calmly, “At this time we are investigating the area to determine what happened. But her current condition is unknown” 

The room fell silent, Trent staring trying to process what was said, Metal ran a hand over his face, no one spoke until a quiet  “Thank you” was spoken by Amelia. “I’ll let myself out,” Watkins said, leaving the house. “She’ll be ok,” Trent said, blinking, then cleared his throat “She’s always ok.” The room remained silent. 

Jason knowing that feeling when the police knock on your door, his mind going back to the news about his late wife. Metal was sitting back in his spot, leaning forward staring at the ground. While Amelia tried to get Trent to talk. She knew Trent had taught his sister to ride, that she always was trying to find someway to spend time with her brother growing up.  The team never left that night, other teams showing up to drop items off, they waited to hear for updates from the hospital and the police, but no one wanted to leave Trent, Amelia or Metal alone.  End
